My Indian coworker (who's originally from New Delhi), chose this place for our team dinner (her husband had dined at this restaurant's Chicago location with his company colleagues recently, and gave them a glowing review)! Anyway, we LOVED the awesome food, service and ambience here and will DEFINITELY be back! For appetizers, we had the Spring Rolls, Gobi 65 (a spicy curry cauliflower dish, which my boss surprisingly really liked--given that she said cauliflower wasn't really a favorite vegetable of hers), and the Keema Samosas (triangular pastries stuffed with ground-cooked lamb)! For entrees, I had the Lamb Dahiwala and Jheera Rice; my boss had the Chicken Mint Masala; and our Indian colleague had the Dal Makhani (a popular dark lentils dish, which she generously shared with my boss and me)! For drinks, I had a Mango Lassi; my boss had a huge bottle of Taj Mahal Beer (which she really liked)!!! All the food was so fresh, flavorful, perfectly cooked, plus served quickly and efficiently! Our server was very pleasant, knowledgeable, efficient and attentive to all our needs!! We ended up being one of the very last parties to leave the restaurant that night! Anyway, we definitely plan on coming back here soon!!!

The aromas that hit your senses as you walk into Tandoor Curry Hotspot is something out of a dream!…read more I've been to Tandoor twice: once with my book club and 6 other people, and another with a girl friend of mine. Both times, the staff was incredibly warm and kind, and both times my food was flavorful. I have had the bullet naan ($5) and the garlic naan. And both times I ordered a dish with paneer (I'm vegetarian, and love a good Indian dish with paneer). I will say, that the first time I was here, I ordered a glass of wine, and knew IMMEDIATELY as the wine was set down in front of me, that the wine was spoiled. The Pinto Grigio stank like an old Chardonnay and turned my stomach so badly after just one sip, I had to take my food to go and finished it the next day. I have also noticed that the water carafes and glasses were kind of dirty the two times that I was in here, and that's a huge turnoff for me when dining in a restaurant (hence the 4 stars, not 5). I highly recommend Tandoor for the food and service, just skip alcoholic beverages, and maybe don't drink the water...?

We were promptly seated at a spacious booth that was perfect for 2. They basically inherited all the furniture from the previous Marcello's restaurant. The restaurant itself was spacious with tasteful décor, although it was a bit dark. Service was very friendly and attentive throughout the evening. I ordered a Mango Lassi ($4), which was creamy and sweet with a strong mango flavor, absolutely delicious. My husband had a beer ($5). For food, we first shared an order of Garlic Naan ($5). The 5 pieces were warm and delightful. Although they were not as fluffy and were thinner than other naan we've had, they had crispy, crunchy bases and were packed with garlicky flavor in every bite, seriously addictive! Just for the Mango Lassi and Garlic Naan, I would absolutely come back. We also ordered Butter Chicken ($19) and Goat Curry ($22) to share. Since their entrées do not include rice, we also got an order of Basmati Rice ($4). The Butter Chicken was creamy and buttery, although the sauce was a bit on the sweet side. The chicken pieces were all meat and not dry. The Goat Curry was spicy but flavorful, with tender meat attached to the bones, except for one chewy piece. The portions were good, and we even had some Butter Chicken left to take home. All in all, we had a good experience and would love to come back to try more dishes. I am rounding the experience from 4.5 to 5 stars.

It's not an actual Indian restaurant though, because it's in a bar with a gaming area and it's only for takeout. Delhi Bistro has many of the basics. Everything from channa masala to tikka masala. The food has mostly a mild spice. After looking up places to eat, we came here. It was a bit confusing, because this wasn't like an Indian restaurant. This is more like a bar to be honest, with a gaming area in the next room with video slots. Also you could only do takeout for the food. It's about $12 for an entree, and we got the Channa Masala. Good flavor with a spice to it. The portions were pretty small for the high price. Come here if wanting Indian food to go. It's pretty authentic flavor with plenty of spice. The prices are pretty high for the portions it seems though.

But, when it's good and freshly made, it is terrific. One thing I recently noticed is that some of their dishes look Chinese/Panda Express inspired, which I do not like at all. I'd much rather see my favorite dishes more consistently like the mushrooms and green/red peppers, okra, creamed spinach, green peas in orange sauce, and roasted potatoes. (The mushrooms are my favorite!)

I went back today and was honestly so upset because my go-to dish, the paneer makhini, was nothing like it used to be. It literally just tasted like straight cream. I even asked them to remake it because I thought something was wrong, but it came out the same way. I ended up just eating the other food we ordered, but it was such a disappointment because this has always been the dish I look forward to. I even showed them old photos from past visits compared to today and it was clearly different. The chef tried it and said it was the same, which shocked me because it really wasn't. I get that places can have off days, but this was really discouraging. As much as I've loved this restaurant, I don't know if I'll be back if the quality has dropped this much.
