My child started braces a year and a half ago. Dr Curtis is great. The office staff especially Janine is rude and unhelpful. They billed insurance incorrectly and it's been a year of trying to correct the problem without follow up and rude voices when I try to find solutions myself. Appointments are so difficult to schedule and parents are not welcomed to wait for their child in the office during appointments. I have to pull my child from school each appointment and wait in my car. We had a fundraiser at school and they were uninterested completely. When I asked about participating (12 other practices in the area (dentist/medical) were recognized for contributing) I got no response and then some generic website telling me how great they are. It feels stuffy around the staff and they discourage any questions explanations or family involvement the minute you pay in full. So disappointed. read more

My son is so happy to come in for his visits. He first he gets hot chocolate while waiting and after his x- ray he came out and said "I love it here. Everyone is so nice" my son is 9. Tagawa and Curtis Orthodontics is a great option if you are wanting to get braces. Their expertise has never created any doubt for me. I had my braces for 18 months, and the staff did an excellent job with maintaing them. At every appointment they were concerned about the comfort of my braces, but also, they asked me about school and how I was doing. I never had to wait for a long time before they called my name and was seen quickly. The staff is extremely friendly, and their assistance was a significant help. I gave them a four stars because I had return three times in the beginning. They had forgot to trim the end of my wire so it was cutting into my cheek. This most likely occurred due to my teeth moving. Nevertheless, this orthodontics will never disappoint you. Today, my teeth look amazing, and they truly made a difference towards my smile. I can honestly say I can't think of ONE single bad thing about this place. I had to have braces not once, but twice due to an accident. First of all, kudos for them dealing with my brattyness when I first got them back on. I know I was definitely not a happy camper about getting braces again. Dr. Curtis and his staff are amazing!!! My daughter started going there 5 years ago, wanting to do Invisalign's. Long story short, she wasn't disciplined enough to keep it up, but Dr. Curtis and his staff have been sooo extremely nice and patient with her and after a long time of trying to convince her that metal braces are the better way for her to go, she finally agreed. She's had them on for three months now and the results are already amazing!! Never once did anyone in Dr. Curtis's office ever make her feel bad for not keeping up with her Invisalign's. They have all been so encouraging and have made my daughter feel really comfortable going in for her visits. Today, my son got his braces on. Of course we didn't give him a choice of not going with the metal braces. Having built a relationship with Dr. Curtis and his staff, I felt completely comfortable knowing my son will be in the best care for the next 12 - 18 months. My daughter is a patient here, and I am beyond happy with the care she receives. There was a time my daughter had an orthodontic related emergency. Rachelle was able to help us after hours, and got us into the office right away. Both Dr. Curtis and Rachelle worked on the issue, and even collaborated with our regular dentist, Dr. Bae, to fix the problem. Afterwards, I even received several texts/messages from Rachelle and Dr. Curtis following up to see how she was doing. In the end, everything worked out very well. My kids who just had their braces taken off 10 months ago notice their teeth are gradually going back to the positions before. Now I have to pay more money to do X-ray and maybe put braces back . All for more money. If you can, don't take them off even they tell you so especially if your kids are young. Their bones are not settle yet. Leave them on for 6 months to a year more. Here they ask you to sign a consent form when they take braces off your children so it is your responsibility afterward. What didi I know? I just listened to the doctor's advice and did whatever they asked me to do. You would think they know EVERYTHING! Bad practices. I sure learned my lessons. read more

Dr. Tagawa is great! He uses the Damon braces and he also does invisalign. I currently have braces and I am very satisfied on how everything is coming along. The office is very nice and the staff is very friendly. My favorite part about this place is that they have this thing called the wooden nickel program. Every time you have an appointment and you show up on time and you bring you're appointment slip with you, you collect points (wooden nickels) and then you can turn them in for prices. The prices include (star bucks gift card, American express gift card, tickets to Disney land, etc.). BTW, you earn those points in other ways too. I'm 19 and I like that idea. Am almost 70 and wished to keep from ending up with dentures, seeing both my parents always struggling with the discomfort and not being able to enjoy their food.
