Employed at Curtis Tire for 4 days was the worst days in my life. Management doesn't want to train the way other than their way. You aren't allowed to do whats easy for you. Mary H. talks sexual to the vendors and Mr Curtis doesn't say anything. Be careful doing the banking. If you get hired make sure you get in writing your pay because Mr management didn't pay me what he told me. Management likes to talked down to other employees. Mary H thinks she's the best at being an Office Manager/Service Writer but according to management she isn't. Went to curtis tire to get a oil change and a front end alignment. The gentleman told me I needed a tire also. I said ok no problem. It took an hour to complete the job. As he brought my truck back and my truck was still pulling to the right. I took it back today and it took three hours to fix my truck. Not one person came to me and say why it took so long or even To say they were sorry. They really need to work on there customer service !!!! read more

Late Friday night, I discovered a screw stuck in my tire, and I'm stuck in St. Mary's County. The next morning, I get a ride to go buy a portable air pump, and fill up my tire as best I can, and get to Curtis Tire at about 8:30 or so. The staff are pretty friendly, and it looks and feels like a small town mechanic - because it is. I let them know about my tire, and oh - my dash light just came on, letting me know a brake light was out. I dropped off the car, and got a call about a half hour later that it was ready to go. My ABS dash light came on yesterday. Took my care here yesterday. They replaced the front brake pads and called me to pick it up. On the drive back home, ABS light came on again and brake peddle felt soft and pumpy, this after they assured me that they had inspected and cleared all brake components as requested. Left my car with them again at 4 pm yesterday. They did not even begin looking at it until today at 2 pm. They said that they were too busy to look at it all morning and early afternoon. Terrible customer service and work, and they are defensive about it, too. Don't go here for expert mechanical service. read more

I needed new tires 2 days before Christmas and everyone was booked solid! They made time for and ordered tires for me and put them on, balanced, and good to go in just one day! The actual service took less than one hour. 4 tires for under $400! I will be back! read more

I went down to get four new tires for my vehicle, as mine were pretty much bald. The wait was pretty reasonable and I was in and out in about an hour. Cut to a few days later and my low tire pressure light came on. I figured that they must not have topped them off, no big deal. Couple more days later, low tire light came on again. Okay, they must have installed them wrong, no big deal I drove back down, about a 40 minute drive each way. The staff was courteous, changing the tires out for free. This happened TWO more times. For the money you pay for service, for them to get it wrong three separate times is nothing short of appalling. To their credit, they were quite polite and efficient, but the mere trip down and back drained over an hour out of my day. Efficient service, yes. Shoddy work. read more

I went to curtis tire after I got off work in the morning. My brake light came on. I was losing my brakes. It was my only day off. They fit me in and got it all fixed. I would recommend these guys to my friends if they come here for work in the area. Great service. Small town folks and hard workers! Ill be back in the future. read more

I went to Curtis Tire after being completely shafted by another tire place. Mr. something, I cant remember. They removed my tire from the destroyed rim (thanks Mr. whoever) and mounted the new one for me in 5 minutes. 8$ Ever since I go there for all my oil changes. I bring my own oil and filter and they do it in under an hour for 15$. You could always spend 2 to 3 times that to have a HS dropout strip your oil plug at a *lube place. Well worth it. In my experience they are fair and do a great job. read more

I took my car to Curtis Tire to have my timing belt changed, get new plugs and wires and to stop an oil leak. I asked how much it would cost and he said they like to looked over the car thoroughly before giving an estimate, this would eliminate him calling back with additional work that needed to be done which would cost more money. My estimate was 1600.00 to 1800.00 dollars. This would take care of everything plus change the housing that covered my timing belt because it was broken. Then I gave approval and he asked for a $1000.00 deposit so he could get the parts. This made me uncomfortable because I did not get a second opinion, at that moment I should have taken my car and went to another shop, but I didn't, HUGE MISTAKE! Within three days he had called me back letting me know that all the hoses in my car needed to be changed and it would bring my cost up to around 2200.00 to 2400.00 dollars. I received another call two days after that telling me my radiator was leaking and it needed to be changed and the price went up to 2600.00 to 2800.00 dollars. At this point I could not understand how the hoses were overlooked in the first inspection and the radiator was overlooked in the second inspection. Then I began wondering how much higher the price was going to get before they finished my car. I got my answer two days later when he called about the heater in my car, suddenly he knew exactly how to fix my heater, even though they had no previous experience and it would bring my total up to $3000.00. I did ask if he was absolutely certain he could fix the heater and also if there was anything else that needed fixing on my car because I was tired of getting calls every few days with additional work that needed to be done. I was assured that this was the last thing my car needed and it would be running like brand new car because they had gone over every inch with a fine tooth comb and I would be very happy. Well within two days of getting my car back my check engine light came on, I took it to another shop and they found a hose that had not been replaced and wasn't allowing proper air flow to my engine. Mmm, I thought I had paid for every hose on my car to be replaced and I began to wonder what else hadn't been done and I got my answer within a few days because my car started leaking oil again. About six weeks later I took my car in for service and I was told that my seals were leaking, the mechanic asked if I had gotten my timing belt changed recently, I said yes and he stated that given the age of my car they should have recommended changing my seals. Needless to say they did not make this recommendation, so I called to ask about it and to let them know that my heat was not working and I was met with anger. He was very offended that I would question the work he had done on my car, given that he was a Master Mechanic. He also stated that he was not going to pay to have my car fixed and he did not appreciate me accusing him of not doing his job properly. Obviously we were having two different conversations, I was just curious why given all of the other items they found and/or suggested that needed to be replaced, why didn't he suggest changing my seals. Well that sent him over the deep end and he was further angered by the fact that I would not bring my car back to get fixed at Curtis Tire. Needless to say I was not going to give him another opportunity to call me every other day with additional work that needed to be done and run my bill up to 3000.00 dollars again. So I have written all of this to let everyone know DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO CURTIS TIRE AND IF YOU DO, STAY BY THE PHONE AND GET READY TO OPEN YOUR WALLET EVERY TIME THE PHONE RINGS. Went into get a tire inspection everything went fine. When I got home I realize that my wheel lock was destroyed. They used an impact drill with my key and bent it all out of sorts and now I cannot unlock my tires. They tried to tell us that it was from wear and tear from years of use. You could tell it was not from that it was all bent out of sorts. And then we tried to take off the locks once it was unlocked and it was very hard to do you could tell it was tightened with an impact drill. read more

So I had called around asking who could align my truck, being lifted it's a little difficult to find someone. I had already gotten it aligned at a shop down in North Carolina that did a great job but something had happened while driving and I needed an alignment quick. I got ahold of Curtis Tire and they said they could do it and to drop the truck off. I went there and dropped it off around 10:00am that day. After not hearing anything all day, knowing they were closing at 6pm, I decided to drive down there and see if my truck was done. I walked in to pay and they said they weren't able to do it unless I had the stock wheels and tires. Luckily I still had them at my house so I agreed to come back first thing in the morning when they open (7:30 am) so they could get it done. As discussed, I dropped the truck off first thing in the morning with the stock wheels and tires. Just as the day before I waited all day without hearing a word. Repeat the same thing and go to the shop a little before they close hoping that the truck was done. I walk in around 5:30pm that day and they said yes it's done but they could only get it close. Figuring it would be just about perfect with no noticeable alignment issues, I paid the $90 and went on my way. As soon as I got on the road I could tell that the alignment was still pretty far off. Not wanting to waste anymore of my time I've just decided I'm not going back there. Between the lack of communication, work done pretty poorly, and pretty ridiculous amount of time for an alignment..I would not recommend going here. read more

Mr. Curtis tire center was recommended to me by a friend of the family. I was desperate to get my junk heap and running and roadworthy again. I was told he was the man for the job and took a chance. Of the repair centers were willing to do the work it took for the car to get fixed. And Mr. Curtis was the last line of defense for me. I couldn't take it anymore with other repairs and is telling me to just get a new car. But he took on the challenge and he made that heap roadworthy. I have had at least six different jobs done on that car and they do not tell you no. They can get it done. Not only are they fast but they are honest. I once had a job that was going to cost me $900, but when they did a second assessment of the job it turned out all that I needed was a radiator flush. I ended up only paying $80. I couldn't ask for a better mechanic. I live out of state now... But I would be willing to drive the miles it takes to just get my car repaired buy him and his team. I only regret about moving out of state is that I can't take them with me.. Highly recommended!! read more
