I'm sorry but this pizza was just not good. It's not easy to mess up pizza and I have never had any that I didn't like, til now. I can't tell if it's the cheese or the sauce but we just didn't like it. Someone in our party had some pasta and they really enjoyed it but they didn't like the pizza or cheese bread. This place doesn't seem like much, but it is hands down my whole entire family's FAVORITE pizza place. I have had pizza from New York to Chicago to San diego and this is the gem of them all. They come out smelling so good that you can't resist to try and eat it. The pepperoni isn't greasy, their sausage is amazing and so SO much more. This pizza is the best I have ever had and it is always the same perfect quality. The service is amazing, accurate times for when your food is coming out, kind and friendly service it is a great place to go to grab your pizza and keep on going. Their is also a pizza called a giant pizza which is an amazing pizza that can perfectly feed a party. We have been going here for 22 years and there's nothing that has been able to top this. Been coming here for years. The sauce on the pizza is sweet and has a great flavor. The toppings can be a little bit short, but at least the veggie toppings are diced. I hate hugs slices of tomatoes or green peppers on my pizza. I want to taste all flavors of the toppings. I don't want a slice of pizza where a green pepper takes up half the slice and I get two small pepperoni's. Their spaghetti is ok, but a little too sweet for me. The owner is polite and a good dude. The food is phenomenal and great priced for the pizza I recommend this if you love tasty pizza. The service is top notch very friendly and quick with the orders. The ambience is very small but has minimal seating outside and inside this place is meant for take out orders in my opinion. Pizza size is not as advertised on the menu. We ordered a large pizza - it says it's a 14 inch square online. It was maybe 8 x 11 at the most. I called to see if they sent us a medium by mistake. I saw online a medium was 12 inches. Whoever answered the phone did not seem to care very much. He said he uses one size for all the pizzas... which didn't make sense to me. He didn't try to offer any act of good faith to make things right either. The pizza itself was good! We wanted to like this place. We love supporting small businesses. Decided to try this place since I had a good deal from the Entertainment Book. I was pretty excited to order a pizza from here given the prior reviews. We wanted pizza while we were staying with my inlaws and I found a coupon for Cusimanos. I saw that they make a 28" pizza, and that was enough for me. When we got there, I couldn't get anyone to agree to commit to the 28" pizza, so we got two larges (chicken pesto and pepperoni) and a cheesebread instead. In short -- It was not very good. It wasn't bad, but the short version is that Costco pizza would have been a much better choice. The pesto pizza basically tasted like grocery store parmesan cheese, because it was pretty much covered in it. I couldn't really taste much pesto or much chicken. It sounds harsh, but it was not gross or anything, just not very good. The pepperoni was pretty standard. I don't think I'll be coming back to Cusimanos the next time we are in Carlsbad, even if someone will agree to take on 28" with me. read more

Soooo good! Honestly I was drawn here from past recommendations AND the fact that the owner is so friendly! It's fantastic that this place not only has awesome people here but the pizza is incredible! BONUS if you are gluten free and order a GF pizza because the crust is basically a full size and one of the best GF crusts I've had! I was surprised when I got it and thought maybe they gave me a regular sized med/large pizza because I'm used to most places having the personal size or slightly larger than GF pizzas but nope! This place is legit! We had even ordered a few months back and didn't realize they were closing in 10 min...not only was he super friendly but offered to stay open until we could get there to pick up the pizzas! Luckily my hubby got there right before to not keep them longer but it was really nice of him to offer that and for that reason (and the tasty pizzas) we won't go anywhere else!
