Hired cleaners based on a recommendation and they were able to come out and do the work quickly, which was an absolute plus. Personality wise the owner is very positive and confident, and you feel like you can trust him to do a good job. Like others have noted, though, it's not the best cleaning you could pay for. He tends to go for 'hot spots,' areas you might think need some extra work, but leaves the rest of the spots relatively untouched. For example: sinks scrubbed clean but counters left with grime and dust all over them. The carpet cleaning was fine but nothing special. Like the regular cleaning it's superficial and not very thorough (corners where carpet meets the baseboards don't get cleaned well). Found the price to be reasonable for what was done, so I didn't feel taken advantage of. If you're looking for a quick clean that will probably pass your rental inspection they're fine. But if you're looking to actually live in the place being cleaned, maybe look elsewhere. read more

PLEASE READ FOR YOUR OWN SAKE. I wish I could give it ZERO STARS. I wanted a really good clean for my landlord as she wanted a professional cleaner to come in when we left. (A move out clean and a carpet clean). Because of the amazing reviews here, I went with this place. OH GOD. First, Tai seemed like a really nice guy. He worked with my dates as it was pretty last minute. He saves Saturdays for last minute people. He's funny and I'd like to believe he has good intentions.. BUT WAIT A MINUTE.. I'm not looking to make friends, I'm looking for a damn good PROFESSIONAL CLEANER WITH BOMB-ASS CLEANING SUPPLIES THAT I SIMPLY CANNOT AFFORD. HOWEVER, I will attach a bunch of photos of my place after his clean.. Please, take your time to have a good look for yourself. I was so excited to see how it looked and when I saw my apartment, I wanted to cry. I was so mad. Though I noticed he tried to clean the fridge, oven and showers, overall, I felt like I needed to still hire a professional cleaner. For a 550 dollar clean? There were either thick soap left over and dried all over the shower or the job was just not done. I seriously thought, WTF DID HE DO? For Nearly 600 dollars? I could have bought a really good guitar or something. The counter tops still had food crumbs and dust, the sink faucet had crummy stuff around it where I easily scraped it with my nail, drawers in cabinets had crumbs of food and dust, baseboards were dirty, freezer had dust and left over food as well. There were lots of dust still..everywhere! The carpet, he cleaned(?) as it felt like it had dried up but there were still stains. How could his cleaner clean the ones posted on here but not mine? My carpet cleaner could have done a better job and there were still lots of stuff on the carpet I had to pick up with my hands because I had no vacuum with me. I figured since I was paying someone about 550 dollars, I would only worry about the move. BAD IDEA IN THIS CASE. Honestly, It was so bad I thought I had just been SCAMMED. I had to research it & nothing came up to my surprise. I'm still skeptical. When I got to the apartment and saw how dirty it was, I went straight to the NEX and bought my own cleaning supplies and cleaned all night and came back in the morning.. I didn't have time to call him because I really just didn't want my landlord to see how horrible it looked as I had to meet with her in the afternoon. Also, I didn't want to talk to the company while being so mad. I left some things Un-cleaned as Tai said if the landlord says they missed a spot, they would come back (which I appreciate) however, I still had to do a lot of cleaning and I don't even know if they actually will do it. I've never been so angry. My landlord agreed that there were dust and some spots untouched where it says it would be cleaned on the paper so they will work things out hopefully. WHICH BY THE WAY.. When I called him to give him my landlord's number, I told him she wanted him to come back to clean. He said "oh noooo, what spots were missed?" I almost lost my shit but bit my tongue and said "um... I don't know? A lot of things actually.." I had to tell him to just call her because I had other things to deal with and I was too pissed off. JUST LOOK AT MY PHOTOS, LOL. Come on, dude. (Don't bother to contact me about it because I'm done and moving on after this review UNLESS I get a refund). There were two cabinets that were very hard to clean so those things I understand but REALLY?! How could you have someone pay 550 dollars and leave the place with dirt like on the kitchen counter? That's SO easy to clean. I did one swipe with my finger and BAM there was dirt. If you couldn't clean the apartment by yourself as you said people called out sick, just tell us. Id much rather reschedule and see it clean as Id have a receipt to prove a clean will happen or Id call someone else to do the job. I understand there were some tough spots but as a professional cleaner, they should have cleaned it as best as they could and they can't say they did because I cleaned it myself. No excuses. Absolutely the worse move out cleaners! This company doesn't seem to know what a move out cleaning entails! My tenant hired Tai's Custom Cleaners to do a move out cleaning and paid them $400 in cash. He was told they would send him a receipt but as of this review, they have yet to provide a receipt to my tenant or to me. Upon final checkout inspection, I discovered cob webs in the corner of the living room carpet, dirty vinyl floors in the main entry, kitchen and bathroom; food residue stains on the exterior of the kitchen cabinets; a thick layer of lint on the vinyl floor next to the dryer; streaks on the living room sliding glass doors and windows; residue on the vertical blinds in the bedroom and living room; and lint on the A/C filter. See some attached photos. Since my new tenant was moving in later in the day after I did the final checkout inspection, my friend and I tried to re-clean the unit since Tai said he couldn't re-clean the unit until the following week. The photo of the bag of dirty wipes was the result of my re-cleaning the unit which was after Tai and his Custom Cleaners of Hawaii claimed they were finished cleaning the unit. When we called Tai to come back and re-clean the unit properly, he sounded surprised, cocky and upset. When Tai came, instead of checking the unit to ensure everything was properly cleaned, he kept asking us to show him where he needed to re-clean. Since we needed it cleaned for our checkout a couple of days later, we begrudgingly agreed. Tai was not able to complete the job that same day (as promised) because he started late and by himself. How were we supposed to know if he would actually show up the following day (especially since we paid him in cash)?!?! On top of that, he asked us to leave one of the doors open since we could not meet him exactly when he wanted to clean. The following day, we held our breaths in hopes that the home would actually be clean when we got off work. It was TERRIBLE!!! Like, saving your money for a year to go to Disneyland, and then finding out....oh SH*T someone else took your vacation for you. Seriously, he took our money and our excitement, and left us stranded, angry, and frustrated. I ended up cleaning the home by myself all day and all night because my apartment inspection was the following day. Although Tai says he will return to address anything left unclean, honestly, it was like this throughout the ENTIRE HOME. I told the property management to REMOVE THIS COMPANY from their list for their own protection. This was our first time using custom cleaners hawaii and I am more than happy with the level of professional service, their use of natural cleaning products, availability, speed of service & most of all how awesome my carpet looks! I really wish I took a couple before pictures because it was bad! Thanks to my lovely toddlers the dining area was stained with Blueberry, chocolate milk, juicy box spatter Etc to the point we considered having the carpet replaced. One clean and it honestly looks good as new! Custom cleaners saved us time and money & we're very grateful for that. Three and a half stars is my honest assessment. Tai is a super nice guy, he is knowledgable, and did a pretty good job with the rug. No complaints there. It looks much better and does not smell. I called on a Saturday and he came the next morning and picked up our area rug to have it cleaned off site. This was necessary because we really didn't have a place to lay it out when it was dirty. It was a mess. Puppies had had their way with this rug over the course of 10 years and especially recently. Anyway, he picked it up on Sunday and returned it on Wednesday. We paid $195 for the cleaning and pick up and return delivery. Here's what I wish had gone better: the rug was returned damp and was losing a fine sand-like material. We had to spread it out and run a fan over it for 24 hours. With two dogs in the house, this was not ideal. The fine sand stuff was a pain in the butt because it got all over. IMHO, for the money, it would have been better to have gotten the rug back dry, free of the fine grit (or at least with less), and ready to be laid out. Do I recommend the service? Sure. Just be specific about wanting the rug to come back dry and ready to go...if that sort of thing is important to you. read more

I bought the $75 for $100 deal and it was the best thing ever. I was quoted for $135 in the end. And so in total with the deal it was $110. Saved some money. I called quite a number of 5 star rated places before finding this gem and I was sold. The person who answered the phone was knowledgeable and friendly. Not rude like one other location of had called. If I needed cleaners again, I would probably use this company again. He also gave me handy tips for carpet cleaning and uses organic chemicals for cleaning. It dried within an hour or two with the windows open. Best thing ever. Thank you! *** Update I dropped a star off because a lack of professional response due to requesting another copy of my receipt. I know it was my fault for misplacing it. However, the fact that no one cared to respond at all to my inquiry makes me disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I did notify at one point I didn't need it any more, especially since they were on vacation. But even after the reply date I didn't even get a response. It's like this company doesn't exist or doesn't know how to treat customers beyond this. After getting move-out cleaning quotes from other companies, we decided to go with Tai. So stoked with our decision. It's so convenient to have one company do the house cleaning AND the carpet at the same time. Price was reasonable for our Ocean Pointe 4 BR/3 B, wall to wall carpeted two story house. Lots of blinds. Quality of work was no ka oi. Tai was professional, courteous, on-time (even though he called to let us know he would be running late). Tai is very cool, has a great sense of humor & is very easygoing. But not so easygoing that he would allow his crew to do a half-okole job. After Tai & his crew were done, the house & carpet were waaay cleaner than when we moved in. The carpet, especially, was like new. Tai took the time to explain the unique oscillating method that only Customer Cleaner HI uses for carpet cleaning. And hallelujah, the blinds were spotless. We have white carpets and he took out a few stains. It took Tai about 20-30 minutes to clean our entire 2 bedroom unit carpet! I had a wedding at a venue that is rented by the day and need intense clean up after the event. The event was on a saturday night and no one seem to be willing to work. My roommate and I have been moving out of our apartment last minute and haven't had any time to do things the right way. Our 2 bedroom apartment was pretty trashed as we had lived there for 10+ years. They did an excellent job getting stains out of the carpet and kitchen floor. All told, a reasonable price for excellent work and customer service. Highly recommended! Cash or check only, though. Called these guys on a Sunday evening to get a move-out cleaning done no later than that coming Tuesday. They said no problem and showed up pretty close to on time (they called well in advance and let me know the morning traffic was really bad and they'd be 15 minutes late...it's Hawaii, it happens). Walked them through the apartment, which looked pretty bad when we moved in, got a quote, paid them, and left them to do their thing. A few hours later I got the invoices in my email, set up just as I needed them for the owner per the lease terms. Later that evening, I show up with the owner to do the move-out walk through. The place is spotless, including the old, ratty carpet that was stained when we moved in. Because of these guys, we got our full security deposit back. Price for a two bedroom, two bath unit worked out to about $472 including HI taxes ($210 for the carpet cleaning; $262 for the apartment/bathrooms/kitchen cleaning) which seemed higher than some other quotes we got. I don't think they offered a military discount, which some others did. But Custom Cleaners are the only ones who were able to pull through on short notice, and they did a spectacularly good job. A second trip out, for them to clean a lanai and three glass door panes that I'd originally instructed them not clean (the owner pitched a fit even though the lease didn't require these items to be cleaned and I decided the headache of fighting over it wasn't worth it) ran $109 more including tax. I think this would have been included in the original price had I not instructed them otherwise, so I'm not including this in my evaluation of how much they cost. read more

Did not clean the cabinet tops(3 years of greasy dust left) Did not clean the base kitchen cabinet toe kicks(dried on food splashes and dirt) Did not vacuum the perimeter edges of the carpet(that dust fill 3 canisters of my vacuum) Did not wipe the food splashes from the lower kitchen cabinets, Did not clean the bathroom floor edges or around the toilet bases, Did not polish bathroom Crome, Did not clean all the ceiling fan blades, Did not vacuum the air conditioner ceiling vents, Did not wipe down any walls of dirt marks, Did not clean window tracts and grooves(needed to use a toothpick or other pointed item) Did a smear job on the windows, Did not clean the front door window, Did not vacuum around the washer and dryer, Did not clean any slatted window blinds, Did not get any toilet rings out of porcelain, Did not dust around bathroom light fixtures. Poor carpet cleaning job in my opinion. Basically what I am saying is they were paid $725.00 for a Deep Move Out Clean and Carpet cleaning and did nothing that indicated much cleaning at all. I will NEVER use this company again. They should be embarrassed with the poor cleaning job. I cleaned everything myself so I knew it was done right and did not call to complain because I did not want them back in my home. For the record, I had this company clean on 2 other occasions. I felt they did an ok job then. I still had to reclean many areas. They did come out in the past to reclean once but I gave up and just finished items myself. If you can't use a ladder to clean cabinet tops or ceiling vents or ceiling fixtures you should not be in the cleaning industry. Cleaning a window with a paper towel doesn't cut it. Squeegees are the only way to clean windows well. There is no excuse or rebuttal the owner can print for this ripoff cleaning job. A good observer is a good cleaner. These people were not. I was very satisfied with the work that Tai and his crew did in the move-out cleaning of my studio apartment. He fit me in his schedule even though I called just the day prior on the last week of the month (traditionally, the busiest week due to most people having to move out before the end of the month per their rental contracts/leases). He emailed an invoice to me shortly after the job was done, and did a follow up call 2 days later to see how my walk-thru with my realtor went. Very professional, and very good follow up. I did have to do some touchup cleaning in a couple of areas (Tai was very apologetic about this), but nothing more than two minutes with some cleaning wipes. Tai and his 3 cleaning crew did an excellent job of providing move-out top-down cleaning and carpet cleaning. Personally, they went above and beyond to clean every single corner, spotless (even around the washer closet). My landlord insisted the professional cleaning when moving out. But, I remember the apartment was rather filthy with stained carpet when I moved in 3 years ago. I wonder she just did the house cleaning herself and pocket the money to call it "Professional Cleaning". I will never know! I even managed to remove all the water stain and soap scum in bathroom after moving in. However for this move-out cleaning, Tai and his crew were very accommodated with our schedule, and still managed to get everything done in a timely manner. I was worry about the possible result as one negative review here along with the pictures. None of that happened. They turned the unit like a brand new unit with nice smell afterward. They managed to remove all the stains on carpet which landlord claimed was impossible. There is only one stained spot which we all knew would never be removed. I highly recommend this company. Tai even provided an on-site estimation. Hence, you don't get heart attack when receiving the invoice. :) The invoice is what he has estimated. Zero stars. This place is terrible. I had them come clean my condo for a move out service and it looked like they sprayed some water around and just dusted the place. The bathrooms were not cleaned and I had to scrub the bathtub floor and clean the bottom of the toilet again. They were supposed to clean the windows but didn't take the screens out and clean the windowsill. Carpets still had surface level stains that I was able to get out with resolve. To top it off they spilled some kind of oven cleaner on the front of the oven and I had to get the front panel replaced and installed. The owner (Kai) offered to install the panel and showed up and took everything a part and left all the wiring exposed because he didn't have 1 tool to complete the installation. He left the oven dismantled and I had to hire a appliance person to come and fix it. I would never use them again. read more

Our office carpet needed cleaning. We had stains that have been in the carpet for years.Called and spoke to Tai and he fit us in the very next day! He showed up a little after 12 and got straight to work! Tai was very friendly and informative, he didn't waste anytime getting started. About an hour later he was packing up and asked us to inspect the carpet. We were AMAZED! I didn't even know that our carpet was that shade of blue. ALL and I mean ALL the stains were gone as if they were never there. He didn't bring all the correct tools however that did not stop him from doing the job right, he had to hand scrub the stairs and it came out great!The carpet smelled clean and had no harsh chemical smell.He told us to let it dry for 45 minutes and to our amazement the carpet was clean and dry by then.
