We never thought we'd hear ourselves saying this, but mattress shopping was such an enjoyable experience at Mattress Central! Sev (one of the store's co-owners) greeted us right away when we arrived and got to know a bit about our preferences. It was only our second store of this particular mattress buying journey, so we hadn't figured out everything yet but he was great in guiding us to some potential options across the store floor. What I loved most about the experience was just how low-key it felt: Stepping into most other mattress stores sometimes feels like being thrown to the sharks at a car dealership, but Sev was politely present as we rolled around on a variety of different beds, giving us just enough space to discuss what we liked or didn't like but making it clear that he was available to us if we had any questions, which we frequently did. We ended up staying for about an hour just testing out a bunch of different mattresses and ultimately what sold us the combination of finding a really great bed and realizing that the owners truly believe in giving you the best experience possible. When Sev gave us quotes for each of the three mattresses we were considering, we were really surprised by how competitive they were and how generous the return policy was as well. He even threw in a pillow that we had been eyeing for free! You can tell these guys are really committed to the customer experience and aren't worried about upcharging you for your mattress, which happens frequently elsewhere and results in stressful bargaining. Fully 7 years ago, I purchased an adjustable Serta frame from Mattress Central. So, just this week, Ive had reason to reach out to them for help on the frame as we were trying to move it...someone on the move-the-bed team (I think) broke the sync cable. Mattress Central has gone FAR above expectations, including helping me... over the phone... with this situation AND providing me with four legs for the frame that I somehow did not get when the unit was first setup all those years ago. I am SO impressed with their customer service. They even just texted me to see how things were. We needed a new mattress and we wanted a floor model that was already off gassed. My wife (who was currently out of town) had gotten a mattress from Mattress Central for a friend a few years ago and said to check with them first. They had a choice of two mattresses, and I chose one, but then before it was delivered, I changed my mind. As such sales are "final" I was concerned that I was stuck with the mattress I didn't want. We ventured over to the Mattress Central location in Atwater Village after finding out that their Northridge location had closed. We were greeted by Vince who welcomed us but gave us space to browse their showroom, which we greatly appreciated. We had been shopping a hybrid mattress and found one we really liked at a competitor. Since we had purchased three mattresses from Mattress Central in the past and had amazing customer service each time, we wanted to see if they had the same mattress or something comparable. Vince did some research and indicated he could get us that same mattress from the competitor with a discount - Yes please, let's do that! Fast forward three hours after leaving the store we get a phone call - After confirming with his rep that the mattress we liked was 'exclusive' to the other retailer, Vince offered us an upgraded mattress - Better support, better cooling, better materials (which was also more $$$$) and honored the price we had already paid. He sent me the model of the upgraded mattress and also offered us double their usual sleep trial - He just asked that we check it out and let him know. I called him back within the hour and set up delivery. The new bed was delivered yesterday and we love it... It's everything we hoped it would be. The delivery was smooth - The two guys who set everything up were courteous, and made sure everything was to our satisfaction before they left. If you're looking for a new mattress, your first stop should be the guys over at Mattress Central - They've gone above and beyond for all four of our bed purchases now and I have zero reservations recommending them to anyone. read more
