Despite info from online,…read moreI felt like I needed to just test it out for myself so I googled what local stores carried BB mattresses for me to try. The closest one was in Glendale (as of Nov 2025, no showrooms in the SouthBay). It was a hike but close to my in-laws so I'm used to making that drive. First off, I want to talk about the store name. Here on Yelp it's listed as CA Mattress but on Google, it's listed as Jewel City Mattress. When I drove up, the sign outside still said CA Mattress Store but the business cards and the receipts all said Jewel City Mattress. Looks like they're in the middle of a rebrand maybe but still thought it worth highlighting this confusing bit. Next I want to comment on the parking lot which was small and shared with a bunch of other businesses. However it's not a free for all lot, EVERY SINGLE SPACE is marked for specific retailer and the spots for the mattress store are tucked into a corner that feels like threading a car through the eye of a needle -- one wrong move backing out and you're practically guaranteed to t-bone or clip another vehicle. All that asides, when we went inside, it was pretty quiet in there (despite being Black Friday). The store was very clean and relatively orderly despite its small footprint. I found the exact mattress I wanted and tested both the medium and firm options. I ultimately chose firm (so much for the online recommendation from BB's own website!) and was prepared to haggle over price. I was expecting to fight to get a price equal to BB's Black Friday website's prices but David easily beat them and threw in pillows. Shipping was $50 (as opposed to the website's free shipping), but given the greater discount, I felt the shipping cost was more than covered. The ordering and check out process was fast and I was more than pleased with the experience which seemed way too easy--but in a good way? I was told to expect my mattress to be delivered in 7 days but it took closer to 14 due to shipping delays and also FedEx "losing track" of my package for 2 whole days. The store did call me to update me on the tracking progress so that was very much appreciated. I was also told I'd be getting 2 pillows with my mattress but those didn't arrive and unless they're on their way separately, I don't think those are happening. I'm not going to count FedEx's bumbles against the store but I will the broken promise of complimentary pillows. The parking lot issue is not something the store has direct control over but the naming is something they can control. Also, the business cards list like 7 different web domains which made me a little uneasy but in the end, I did get my mattress so I'm happy about that and the price I paid. I'd give them 5 stars but promising something extra but leaving it out of the actual delivery seems a little bit sus. Not sure if it was error or honest mistake but that's my rationale. Where's my review of the mattress itself? Well that has nothing to do with the store. The quality of the mattress I got would reflect entirely on BB and not the distributor (unless it arrived damaged but it didn't).

After shopping around at many mattress stores I can say with confidence that this is the best place to shop for your mattress and furniture needs. Unlike the big chains, this is a store you can go in and get a 'deal.' In addition, as soon as my husband and I walked into the store we knew we'd fine what we were looking for. The store had great ambiance and we were greeted immediately by the salesperson with a warm and friendly welcome. The owner Adis was extremely helpful. He is an easy going guy with great social skills and most importantly very honest and trustworthy. My mattress was delivered the following day by 2 friendly and hardworking delivery men, also my old mattress was hauled away at no cost to me : ) To sum things up we really got a big bang for our buck thanks to Mattress Depot. We needed a pair of new mattresses for my daughter's new bunk bed and after reading some reviews of this store here on Yelp, my wife and I decided to check it out because it's by far the closest place to our home. I dread going into mattress stores and dealing with the hard-sell sales people, bargaining over something I rarely have to buy and know little about. In this regard, Mattress Depot Discounters was a huge relief. The owner was incredible helpful and significantly more honest than any other mattress sales person I've ever dealt with. We got what I'd consider an excellent deal without any of the normal nonsense. Very straightforward, and the icing on the cake: the mattresses we ended up buying are manufactured here in Southern California. This store absolutely beats any other mattress store I've been to as far as quality and pricing go. I had been shopping around for months for a new mattress and let me tell you it was a nightmare and thankfully I made my last stop at Mattress Depot. The salesman was very knowledgeable, nice, down to earth and not pushy (can't stand pushy salesman). He helped me understand all the different materials that mattresses are made out of and also helped me decide which kind is best for my needs. My family been looking for matresses over a month now, we needed 2 matresses to put in our rooms. Kids are annoyed of their old matresses. We just moved to Glendale and could not really find the exactly what we needed for an affortable price, so one of friend Madeline refered us this this location. She just picked her self a nice brand new matress, my kids got jelous... So as a good father I could not resist the apportunity of buying them matress they wanted. It was a great pick, and for the money I spent it was well worth it! I'm thinking of picking up me and my wife one next! I layed on one of the matresses and I could not help myself but taking a nap. Mattress Depot is a great place to buy a mattress! We have been in the market for a while and have driven by Mattress Depot for a year now. When we decided to stop in, the salesman was not aggressive at all like other mattress stores. He was very knowledgeable and helpful with all types of mattresses and answered all of our questions. We ended up buying our mattress here because we were given the holiday weekend discount days after the holiday and our total included the bed, box springs, bed frame, mattress pad cover, and we got two king size memory foam pillows as a gift! I had been interested in buying a new mattress for a long time and knew about this place from a relative. The service from Adis was amazing. He was friendly,patient,and understood what i was looking for and knew i was on a budget. He let me try different mattresses to see what felt comfortable. The one that i liked which was the floor model had a minor stain on it in which Adis told me he would discount the set 200 dollars if i wanted to buy it. My wife and I spent some time learning about the different types of mattress construction before we went testing. Finding Mattress Depot was actually due to a manufacturer's dealer listing which turned out to be a reasonable distance from our home. I called and spoke with the owner Adis, and after just a short conversation felt comfortable driving to his store. I bought a full size bed from this store in January. I gave it 5 stars because the man who helped me was very patient with me and took the time to help me pick out a mattress. I'm finally able to sleep comfortably! I went to a bunch of other mattress stores prior and the sales people just hounded me, even telling me that there was no way I could get any deal close to theirs so no reason not to get it from them immediately. I came in here to purchase a mattress after driving past the building and seeing a lot of 'Sale' signs. I came inside hoping to find a good sale, and was met with some over-eager sales folks and over-priced mattresses. None of the mattresses were really on sale, it was just a ploy to get folks in the door. It really grinds my gears when places do this. We contacted the store and were assured that they will figure out an option to keep us satisfied. Within a week they offered us to pick up and reupholster the damaged half of the couch for free. Initially, we said yes but then changed our mind since the scratch was not really that noticeable unless you really look for it, and we didn't really want to spend weeks without half of the couch. I went to the Pasadena store with both my parents after doing research online. We quickly decided on the topper we wanted -- the entire process took less than 30 minutes. However, the pickup experience was very disappointing. When it was time to collect the topper, we were told we had to use a hand cart ourselves to move it to our car across the street and then return the cart afterward. There were three staff members in the store, no other customers, yet no one offered to help -- not even to lift the topper onto the cart. My father has ankylosing spondylitis and cannot bend or lift heavy objects, which is visible from his posture. My mother is ill, and I'm a woman myself. It was extremely difficult for us to move the topper on our own. The lack of willingness to help made the experience frustrating and disappointing, especially from a brand that positions itself as caring, ethical, and customer-focused. I don't want to make this about race or bias, but the indifference we felt in the store was disheartening. Avocado's products are great, but I truly hope the company improves its in-store service so that all customers -- especially families with elderly or ill members -- can feel cared for and respected.
