A couple estimates later we decided to go with Roofwerks and were totally pleased with our experience and their workmanship. We especially liked that Jason gave us three different options. Communication was excellent. The work was done quickly once weather cooperated. And no money was exchanged until well after work was successfully completed. Discount for paying cash was also appreciated. Definitely recommend!

I called Roofwerks several months ago for two things:…read more [#1] I had a specific leak in my roof that turned out to be coming in through a broken spot under an attic window. [#2] I wanted to get a quote for re-painting my metal roof with a sealant. I paid that invoice, and called again several weeks ago for two more things: [#3] We had a leak in a corner under our roofline where two gutterlines meet. The insurance appraiser suspected it was due to a gap under the roofline that rain was blowing through during hard wind. I was hoping they would install some sort of flashing or protection over that gap, which would probably require gutter removal to reach. [#2 again] Since I hadn't received an estimate after the first job, I followed up about that. The people who came out (5/25/2022) did not fix the gap under the gutter corner, though I don't know why: it has since been fixed by another provider. Instead, they applied a single stripe of sealant down a roof line where there was no evidence of leakage. They also said they would provide an estimate for tightening screws and re-painting the roof for maintenance. This already felt like redundant work, since that's what they had supposedly done the first time, so I really didn't expect the expensive invoice that followed: $840+tax. I responded asking for clarification of the charges. (They quoted $168 per hour, and two men were there for 1.5 hours. That puts the paint used at $336.) I didn't hear back, so I follow up two days later, to which I received a reply that she was working on it. Two more weeks later, I followed up again, and was promised a prompt response. On Tuesday June 21, I got an email that the invoice had been dropped to $625+tax... still a flat price with no breakdown of hours and materials. Again, I asked for clarification of the costs, but at this point also decided to write this complaint. I ALSO PAID THE INVOICE. (I clarify this because I'm not doing this to justify stiffing them. I can afford $678, but I can't afford to spend any more time or patience waiting for an explanation or follow-through. My time is better spent making a BBB complaint and sharing my experience here.) So, to summarize: - They charged for duplicate work, since they were supposed to have provided an estimate after coming to address the first leak but never did. - They painted a single stripe down the seam of those roof lines and then tried to charge $336 (later $121) for the paint. - There was no evidence of leakage there. The actual leak was later repaired by another provider in the original spot that I pointed out but that they didn't repair. - It took two of their people 1.5 hours to look around the roof of a 1020sqft house (again, for what, I don't know, since they had already been out to estimate this before) and paint a white stripe that didn't need to be painted. - They still haven't provided an estimate that I think I've paid for twice now.

Glenn came out as we had a leak in…read moreour attic as well as what we thought was our window trim, that ended up being water coming in from another leak from the roof above. He took the time to go into our attic and on all parts of the roof to verify where the leaks were and what was needed, and then explained the issues clearly to us. We already knew our roof was well past its life span (20+ years old) so while he provided us with options to just fix the leaks, he was upfront and clear about what that would mean as far as spending a lot for a bandaid. We ended up going with a full roof replacement, as his quote was very reasonable and his experience showed. After we verified what was needed, because we were about to go into another weekend of storms, he even so kindly took the time to go up and nail up tarps over our ridge leaks AND the leak above our window to protect us until we could get it replaced/fixed. This was BEFORE we decided to go with his quote, he definitely didn't have to do that, but it was a really nice gesture and gave us a piece of mind. He and his crew were able to schedule and come out the next week - the first 2-3 day stretch we had without storms finally, and finished our whole roof in that time. He kept us up to date on any additional materials they found that were needed (which he made clear in the original invoice notes before signing) and his crew was communicative, quick, and cleaned up the space when they were done, you could barely tell they were there (except of course for the wonderfully new roof!) We were very pleased that there were no leaks when during the continuing storms/hurricanes that came through the next week. Highly recommend RSD roofing!

Deceptive Business Practices by A&M Premier Roofing. Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act…read more(UDTPA)... In North Carolina, deceptive business practices are addressed under the Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (UDTPA). This act prohibits unfair methods of competition and deceptive acts or practices in commerce. It covers a wide range of practices, including false advertising, fraudulent misrepresentation, and bait-and-switch tactics. Violations can lead to financial penalties and civil lawsuits. The law applies to all business activities, but certain professions and situations may be exempt (some general info for the following post). Specifically, fraudulent misrepresentation is my experience with A&M Premier Roofing. In a nutshell we signed a contract which included a set amount for the replacement and a clause that covered insurance claims paid by our carrier relative to the work being completed by A&M. Which originally was a bit over $10K (including our deductible) and we gladly paid it, we needed a new roof. Unknown to me A&M went back to our carrier and a submitted another claim. I was unaware of this until I received a call from our carrier in December about a denial for a secondary claim made. The claim was based on city of Raliegh code and we did not live in the city limits of Raleigh. I thanked our carrier for the call and didn't think anything of it because we paid A&M everything as stated in the signed agreement. Roughly a month or so after that I received a "2nd Payment is Due" email (from A&M Premier Roofing) for an additional $1445 in an invoice that I had never seen until then. I pushed back on A&M for a couple of months because this was not agreed upon prior to the work starting nor was I aware of the additional charge. Eventually we paid the bill because it would have cost us more to retain an attorney and sue to avoid the fraudulent misrepresentation or a potential personal credit hit. However, I have four years to consider filing a civil lawsuit and contacting the Wake County Attorney General due to the statute of limitations in NC. Part of me just wants chalk it up to not doing my due diligence before hiring them and move on, but another part of me is tired of getting taken advantage of. Hopefully if you are reading this, you'll do a better job of screening a potential roofer than I did. I cannot in good faith recommend them and if I could go back in time, I would not have chosen them (there are so many others out there).

I love my new roof, and I could not have had this outcome without the A&M Team, especially Bradley, Josh S. and Wendy Roof. I had no clue how to even start but you guys all walked me through this with the insurance company and I am forever grateful.
