I'll begin by noting that the ratings on Yelp (here) Rieman & Arszman Custom Distributors are disparate ... around 50-50 5 star and 1 star. My experience was very positive. We had a Kitchenaid cooktop and exhaust ventillation hood to replace. 2013 install with a kitchen remodel. The original hood failed when the control overheated and irreversibly damaged the on/off control.. overheated because wife tended to put a large pot on the cooktop and turn the heat up to max and overtime the switch failed ... could not replace just the switch for one the model was no longer available, secondly the design / switch location exposed it to large amounts of heat rising into the vent. Rieman and Arszman Custom Distributors were recommended by the local Home Depot - appliance section man. Critical is that the vent hood is wall mounted built in and if we could install a new Kitchenaid hood with exactly the same dimensions we would avoid tearing out the cabinets and wall tiles. Bingo ! Custom Distributors did it... wow were we ever happy. It took about a month for Custom Distributors to locate and purchase the new vent hood and cooktop, which was installed last week. Extremely disappointing experience after spending over $31,000 on high-end appliances. We purchased a Thermador built-in refrigerator and a Wolf speed oven from Custom Distributors. Both units were defective from day one -- the refrigerator's ice maker overflows and jams the freezer drawer, and the oven doesn't work at all. Instead of taking ownership and helping to resolve the issue through the manufacturer, Custom Distributors pushed us back and forth between Thermador, Wolf, and a third-party repair company. For a brand-new, premium purchase, that's completely unacceptable. What's worse, I later learned that the refrigerator defect was already known before delivery, and newer production runs had been fixed -- yet no one disclosed this to us or attempted to address it beforehand. I've given them multiple opportunities to make this right, but they've chosen to deflect rather than resolve the problem. I'd recommend going elsewhere for your appliance needs. Lack of communication from them is adding weeks to my kitchen reno, which is extremely frustrating. When I was surprised that I couldn't schedule my installation for another month, they said it was my fault because I had been unreachable, which just isn't true. Weird that R&B, Lowe's and HD could get here within a few days, no clue why their lead times are so long. The easiest way to think of this place it's kind of like a "high end "appliance store. They have the upper echelon of brands you've heard of and perhaps some you never have. If you're looking for bargains or special deals, this certainly is not the place to go to. Save yourself the headache. Just go to Lowe's or Home Depot. You will have better customer service. I spent 9k at this place and the dishwasher was damaged. So instead of giving me a new one they wanted to replace the entire door. Well they came out and "fixed it". They weren't going to tell me. He just said yep and done. Well it was still damaged. So they decided to finally replace it with a new one. So the new one arrives and they were like here you go. See you later. So I have a box in the middle of my house which was actually leaking water in my brand new hard wood floors. The lady on the phone says it was delivery only. Which wasn't the case. She was rude and actually hung up on me. The person that installed wasn't from their company. A builder employee had to come do it. read more

My husband and I are building a new home and we started selections with appliances. I wasn't sure what to expect but a custom distributor show room, sales people and selection options are top notch. Working with Austin, I had all my appliances picked out in a couple of hours and loved the selections. I never thought twice because I could see everything on the floor and Austin explained everything to me that I needed to know. One of my toughest decisions was the subzero or Thermidor refrigerator freezer. I had to have the water and ice dispenser in the door and loved the open and close door that Thermidor offered. I did used to have the Thermidor with wood panels which is another great feature. Horrific customer service. I've actually not dealt with another firm that has the complete lack of follow up and communication that CD has. They were very prompt to make the sale - meeting you and working with you as you picked out the appliances. Then - zip. Not a word from them. After placing the order in June months went by (finally got the last appliance in April, the next year) without any follow up from them. Emails, texts, voice mails - numerous, ALL went unanswered. Just a horribly managed company (I repeatedly went through my sales Rep 'Dave' and then to his manager Ginger - all with the same results). I paid $500 for a fridge rental that never arrived at my new built house. I had to rent a refrigerator from them because they only gave me a 2 day notice my refrigerator wasn't in yet before the ship date. Yet their Store policy states " 30-Day notice". My builder who was on site never saw the fridge get delivered. The Builder disputes that it was received onsite. I highly recommend buying your appliances from a different Company. They are definitely the worst appliance distributors i have come in contact with. i ordered high end appliances(50,000) over a year ago. i was told they were all in. One refrigerator not in. One refrigerator was wrong type. waited 12 weeks for replacement only to find out they ordered the wrong one again. I ended up getting a faster delivery and better price at Costco. The installation process was also faulty. They keep blaming Covid for their delivery problems but its simply their employees making mistakes and ordering wrong appliances over and over again.Their higher ups are totally unhelpful and give same song and dance excuses about Covid. We recently purchased all of our kitchen appliances from them and we were without a dishwasher for more than 5 weeks! After 5 service calls they finally agreed to provide us with a new dishwasher. Unfortunately, the new dishwasher was delivered to and installed into our old house! Then they went back and removed the new dishwasher and installed it into our house several hours later. She went out of her way every step of the way to assist us in finding a replacement for our old Sub-Zero. She helped us assess any other model that could fit in the space, as well as Sub-Zero to help us make the best choice. There was never any pressure, she was the consummate professional who demonstrated superior knowledge of her product, great compassion and caring, and followed through every step of the way! Today we had our new and highly improved (from the 25 year old model) installed in our kitchen, and we are THRILLED! Their service crew arrived 1/2 hour early, they were professional, cared for us and our home, and completed the removal and new installation within 1.5 hours. I could take my pick. I lost an entire day of production to end up with nothing more than "I'm sorry". Four years ago I paid $10,000+ for a Vent-A-Hood brass cooking hood. I've had nothing but trouble with it and Custom Distributors owner couldn't care a less. Recently I've called several times trying to get assistance in 1)getting it professionally cleaned and 2) getting replacement parts for the wheeels. They sent me to 2 different sources they supportable vetted before and when the guys got here ($220 later) , both A-1 and Mr. Appliance said they don't clean them and they can't get replacement parts. I called the office several times asking that the owner be notified. The receptionist said she told him of my troubles and do you think I heard word one from him?! We recently finished a build with a custom home builder. Through this builder, they put us in contact with Custom Distributors. We received horrific customer service from Brenda at the West Carrollton location. When we bought our appliances, she mentioned that we would be eligible for a rebate but gave us no paperwork at that time. She said that she would just keep me updated once our appliances were installed in the home on what to do. I reached out to her once the first two appliances were installed but she said that we would have to wait to file a rebate until the whole GE cafe series line was delivered. I believe we were still waiting on the refrigerator. I reached out to her three times in March 2017. She did not reply once to any of the emails. On the fourth email, she finally replied and then said it was too late for the rebate. She stated that she just didn't get any of the other emails that I had sent which is not possible. We would have gotten back $899. I reached out to her manager (Rick) who was extremely rude in his reply back stating that it was really out fault that we missed it. I called the GE customer service line and they were in agreement with me that management should compensate us on their customer service reps mistake and lack of effort in assisting us in getting the rebate. She never even gave us the paperwork on it. They recommended that I reach out to a GE rep for an exception. I contacted him and he told me to fill out the online form. I tried several times but it does not let you move forward in the process if it is past the final date. I asked him several times what I should do....no reply. That $899 was going to assist us with our moving expenses and was something that we were counting on receiving back at the end of our build. I was extremely unimpressed with the lack of care on Brenda and Rick's part. I would not recommend using Custom Distributors. We would have been better off going to Home Depot or Lowe's. That is unfortunate given that I love to support local, small business. In this case though, I was extremely disappointed and upset with the service and attitude of the employees. read more

If you want an appliance from friendly, knowledgeable professionals you can trust, they're it. They employ their own installers which was such a relief because they were so careful, thorough and quick. From sales to installers they expressed appreciation for your buying from them. This is in response to Paula M's review. As the territory Rep for Vent A Hood, I am very disappointed to see this review. Vent-A-Hood products actually have the reputation of being the easiest to clean to go along with their high performance and quiet operation. When you and I spoke on the phone to address your issues I clarified that parts were in fact available but the company you were dealing with, Mr. Appliance, was not authorized as a Vent A Hood servicer therefore, they had no easy access to the parts. In fact, I believe that A1 appliance, who is an authorized servicer, has ordered parts for you. Finally, I think you were confused, as the gentlemen that you were talking to before I called you was the owner of CDI and because he was concerned for how you were being taking care of, he gave me your phone number.
