My fiancé and I walked up and down Jewler's Row going in and out of stores looking for an engagement ring. We walked into Custom Fine Jewelry and was greeted by Mary. We explained to her what we were looking for and she asked us what we saw at other stores and what we liked and disliked about the rings we had seen and how the diamonds looked under a loop. "What's a loop?" I said. Mary explained it was the small magnify glass we used to look at the diamonds to see their flaws and color. I told her that all the other stores we went to never had us look at any diamonds under magnification to get a better look at them. Mary was baffled and I knew that she had our best intentions at heart and wanted us to buy something we loved and that we knew what we were buying! We spent over 2 hours with her looking at different settings and diamonds until my fiancé ended up finding her dream ring. I went shopping for a ring about a month ago with a friend of mine. The "tiffany blue" V Jewellers sign was what caught our eye at first, but it was the pressure free environment, and down to earth salespeople that kept us there. They were genuinely interested in my personal preferences, and asked helpful questions about what I thought, my now fiance, would like. We looked around for about 20 minutes, and found something we really liked, but we left to check out what some of the competition offered. We found some great engagement rings in both small and large jewelry store "dealerships." Unfortunately, the prices were much higher, and the salespeople made me feel like I was dealing with a stereotypical car dealer. Free cookies and beer are obviously hard to turn down, but V Jewellers offers personality and a stress free environment. She informed me about the diamond characteristics and how formulaic prices are. She taught me how to pick the characteristics and see what price that stone is trading for on the market (there is an App that can be downloaded too, to put the 4 C's information in) and then add the merchant's profit margin. Jas is AMAZING. So I was looking for a specific ring for over 1 1/2 years with no success. I was on the verge of giving up when, just by chance, I stumbled into V Jeweler. Jas took the time to explain to me that the reason I could not find the ring anywhere is because it was a custom piece. No other jeweler would give me the information. Instead, they just shoved other rings in my face. Jas let me know not only was the ring custom, but she could make it for me. Well, not only did she make the ring, she made it BETTER than I could have ever imagined. The quality of her work is 2nd t none. She is a person of integrity and her word was her bond. She delivered on every promise she made and then some. I also must add, the original ring's main stone was to be 1 carat, When Jas went to get the stone, she felt 1 carat looked a little small for the setting so she not only got the 1 carat diamond but also a 1.875 carat diamond. She could have easily just gotten the bigger diamond and called it a day but she got both just in case I was not able to afford go bigger.
