I reached out to Walter regarding a custom barn yard door and he was super quick to respond. We wanted a nice one customized for us versus getting a mass manufactured one online. I gave Walter a photo of what I wanted with a description and he killed it (down to the handle design and rail color). After getting our quote, he came to take measurements and a 50% deposit (the remaining due after installation). We were quoted a 4-6 week lead time but it took 11.5 weeks. I understand that delays happen especially with the current supply chain issues, but I just wish there was more communication regarding the delays. Overall, I'm super excited about the barn yard door! It looks aesthetically pleasing, rolls smoothly, and Walter and Chris worked hard on the installation (taking just a little over 3 hours). It looks way better than the DIY ones you buy online and I love how the frosted glass turned out. Through our builder, they wanted $2500 for a standard door, so we're glad that we went with Walter instead to get a custom one for less than $3000 (including tax) that's more practical and looks nicer. read more

I love, love, love my new closet doors. Custom Fit Solutions recommended three door panels for the two largest closets that in the past I had difficulty reaching items in the middle of the closets. I cannot recommend them enough if you have to buy or replace doors. We had to replace 5 interior doors. A couple other companies quoted $7K to $8K. They insisted we had to completely remove and replace the existing door jambs. This We had almost resigned to paying that much, and decided at the last minute to get another quote from Walter. He explained that he has a unique, proprietary system to perfectly install a door into the existing jamb. He was able to quote **much** lower (less than $4K). That included three solid doors plus more expensive handles on all doors. When the day arrived, Walter finished the entire job himself in a couple hours, including cleaning up. He also very quickly and cheaply fixed our front door, which had been giving us issues. In addition to the high quality of work, Walter very promptly returned my calls and emails. Custom Fit Solutions was very professional! Walter came out mid-April to measure 5 interior doors. Due to Covid the order of the doors took 2 months but it was still worth it! Chris came today at 10:30 am and was done by12:45 pm! There was hardly any mess or dust; he vacuumed whatever dust that was caused from the drilling. I went to Custom Fit Solutions to have two custom doors made. One was a solid door with a white oak veneer and the second one was a solid pocket door with a mirror on one side and painted white. Working with Walter was satisfactory. He was very clear on a quote, and provided wood samples of white oak veneers. He answered all of my questions as well as questions from my general contractor. It was a very long wait for the doors. At least 4+ months. I ended up ordering the solid white oak veneer without the clear coating finish. Basically deliver it unfinished as I wasn't happy with the finish color options they had. Walter informed me most customers (85%) order it unfinished so you can customize it to the color you like. This is what I did with this door as I had a special cabinet painter vendor that was able to match a high end brands veneer that I had made in my bathroom cabinet. So matching the door color to the cabinets was perfect. The door was beautiful and very heavy! The white pocket door had typical craftsman simple design (just a box frame) and the other side had a mirror insert. Two things that I was disappointed in the quality. When doing mill work to add in the pocket door handles - my contractor showed me the parts he had to mortise the door and you can see it's a cheap plywood inside. Walter never told us it's plywood and I assumed it was a solid core door. 2) the paint job was sloppy. It should have been an eggshell finish but it looks totally flat paint and dirt marks/fingerprints were on it. You can also see dusted debris all over that needed to be sanded down. Finally you can see they taped the mirror when they painted it white cause a thin sliver of paint was still on the mirror that was never removed. We needed to take a razor to get all the leftover paint off. These doors were supposed to be high end and was very expensive. However I feel like the quality was no different than the doors that can be purchased at Home Depot but these were way more expensive. The oak door also was not solid wood. Upon adding hardware/locks and during the mortise process you can see it's just plywood inside. Overall I gave it three stars cause it's not terrible but for the price and what I expected it was just meh. The ordering process and working with their sales team was fine. I talked to the same Walter that everyone is raving about and he told me he would call me back that day as he needed to talk to his supplier. Initially spoke to Walter about a month ago over the phone and provided some rough measurements for him along with the door style we wanted. Since the door style we chose is new to his company he had to work with the vendor to determine pricing to provide us with an estimate before final measurements. During this time Walter was extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. After two weeks (agreed upon) I followed up with Walter (left a voicemail) to see if he had received the quote from his vendor. Unfortunately, after waiting another 3 days and no follow up from Walter (perhaps the vendor never provided an estimate for the doors to him???) we ended up ordering our doors from another source that was able to provide an estimate. If the vendor was unresponsive to Walter's request for an estimate/pricing the vendor basically cost him a sale. I would recommend using Walter for doors he already has pricing for; however, if he doesn't have the pricing because it's a new product I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Needed to change out a traditional door to a sliding barn door. Had to be custom made because it's an 8 foot doorway for a master bath and we also wanted a full length mirror on the one side. This review is long overdue. Walter has now completed two jobs at our home. The first involved custom glass doors with vents to allow for aeration in a pantry and audio closet. The work was amazing. We had been searching for these doors for a while without result. We explained to Walter what we wanted and he was able to put it together so quickly.
