To all readers of this review, We just had my basement carpet cleaned by Custom Group which we have never used before and this was our experience - "HOLD TIGHT" and read on! Monday - appointment at 9am. At 8am we get a phone call asking if it is okay to start ahead of schedule, I said, "YES." so the truck pulls up at 8:30am ready to start. Two workers come to my door, introduce themselves and ask to come in and review the work area. The first thing they do is put shoe covers over their shoes (YES) and I take them downstairs and review the work sheet with them for correctness. We all agree that the work ticket is correct and so is the agreed upon cost (No surprises). I ask if there is anything else they need and they said, "No, we have it from here". So, I went back upstairs and waited until the job was finished. When the work was completed they ask me to come down stairs and review the work. The carpet came out better than we had expected (15 years old) and they even trimmed off those little loose strands that we had to prevent them from getting worse. I noticed when they were packing up their equipment they had these corner plastics that they used to prevent the hose from damaging the wall as it rubbed against the corners. We were very impressed with the professionalism of these workers. You can tell Custom Group takes the time to teach their employees not only to do a great job but to respect the place and the customers they are working for. We strongly recommend using Custom Group - You can't go wrong with a company that takes care of business as if it were their own place. I have now used the custom group for two different properties and the service was so good that I had to make the time to write this review for them. The first time we used CGI was for a newly owned property we were moving in to. They went through and did a deep cleaning of the carpet as the previous owner had animas I was allergic to. We also had them go through the ductwork and clean this out also. I am very excited to say that I have lived here now for a couple of months and my allergies are doing great. We then had them go out to the property we moved out of and had them redo the flooring in that home. There was a lot of work to be done. The team they sent out did a perfect job. They were fast, professional, clean, polite, courteous, and most importantly.....they were on time. I would strongly enourage anyone to give them a call and have a conversation about their services. I have to say an excellent job. The guys showed up exactly on time which is difficult considering they are located in Bartlett and I am in Norwood Park in Chicago and we had the 21 inch snow day. Had the vents and the carpet cleaned and the guys used some great ingenuity in actually getting the job accomplished since my basement doorway was so narrow a lot of the equipment simply wouldn't fit. Extremely professional and nice guys and the cost was superb. Don't say it often but I feel like I got MORE than I paid for. Will definitely use them again in a heartbeat. read more

This yelp is long overdue for work done in our home by Custom Group. They were recommended to us by our realtor, Ray Watson, to do extreme cleaning for a house that we purchased in February, 2014. The home was previously owned by smokers and the walls were textured and had extreme nicotine damage. They cleaned all the hard surfaces in the home and painted everything with Kilz removing the odor. They also came back to thoroughly clean all the air ducts. Dan Tanzer is a friend and colleague and after hearing how professional Custom Group handled carpet cleaning I decided to try. Wow, I was super happy with the results. Not only did they do a good job, but they exceeded my expectations by carefully applying wall guards and grass stakes where the cleaning hoses would go. I am not really a 5 star rater but I used these guys for an emergency with my basement and they were incredible . Johnny on the spot and they follow up with you amazing . My basement flooded and they saved my situation big time . They also pointed out stuff that needed fixing when they were there and so I had them do it. It was nice to call one company to clean my carpets and take care of puppy damage, clean my furniture, clean my dryer vents and most important my air ducts.
