Based on great reviews I hired Jeff Bray. I don't doubt he can deliver a great floor but mine was not. He promised me "blond" floors and sent one image of a section of my dining room and it looked great. After that he never sent pictures. I kept asking for pictures since I live out of town and I'm repairing my St Helena house before I move in. When he completed the job he didn't inform me nor did he send pictures of the completed floors. He claims he doesn't take pictures. When I arrived at my home the floors were awful. For starters they were not "blond". He then blamed carpet padding but there has been no carpet in the house for past seven years. He offered no refund or repair. He simply blamed the floors but never contacted me re what was an obvious contradiction to his promise. He completed the job in the time he said he would, AND he went above and beyond to get it done RIGHT and on time. All for a great price. It began as a refinish job, but I found some dry rot in a substantial part of my subfloor. After I patched it up, he helped me cover it with brand new Red Oak, even though it wasn't necessarily part of his original quote. He then sanded it, buffed it, and sealed it. We had our floors refinished several years ago and recently removed some cabinetry in one room which exposed flooring that had not been refinished, so we had to redo the floor in that room.
