Well, I paid him the $1000 (cashed on Nov 29th). Checked with Placer County Property Records and there has been no request submitted to lift the lien. So he lied to me and he lied to CSLB. Talk about digging yourself a hole. Will be fun to present this to a judge. I will of course have to subpoena the CSLB agent and put together a presentation on why everything he said and did regarding the outdoor kitchen area was wrong. Nothing new, done it before. I'll post again after trial but I won't settle for the normal small claims judge so it will take several months to get a date.

Tom transformed my front yard a few months back and I can't say enough about his work and work…read moreethic. First of all, Tom has extremely good vision and taste. I mostly told him, "dry pebble creek, drought tolerant plants, flowers, low maintenance, no lawn" and he delivered that and made it more than I'd hoped for. My friends are now envious of my front yard. It is very zen and tasteful. A few neighbors scared me as they drove by veeerrrrry slowly past my house, and then I learned they wanted to know who my landscaper was. I would have had more done, but didn't because finances. I've accepted that contracting comes with hiccups but to me it's about how someone stands by their work and customer service when things go wrong. Tom's team went above and beyond and repaired a few small things that broke along the way, and Tom's team put in some extra effort to work around my fence which I wanted to keep intact during the project. We did wind up with a leak issue, and while Tom is sometimes very busy and a little hard to get a hold of - he always got back to me eventually and resolved the issue, either immediately or within a few weeks. Last but not least, Tom's price was fair, and I really hope to hire him and his team again next year for some other projects! You will get a beautiful garden with Tom.

This project was quite unique and difficult, and even involved a condensed timeline, and a film crew (because we did it for filming Tiny House Nation) and Greg and his whole crew kept a positive attitude throughout the process! The skill and craftsmanship he demonstrated was truly excellent - particularly the work on the interior and exterior walls. Greg has an excellent eye for what looks great in a living space, and we felt that he really listens and sees it from the homebuilders' perspective. My 2-story house is on a hillside in Cameron Park and the east side gets brutalized by the sun and…read morerain. So after 35 years it needed a lot of siding and all 3 attached exterior decks on the slope side replaced. Separate supports had to be constructed for 2 of the decks because the original joists they rested on that extended from within the main structure of the house could not be completely replaced, thus complicating the task considerably, but the new design is both solid and visually pleasing. Greg and his crew of up to 5 men did a fantastic job in just 2 weeks working long hours in the blazing 100+ degree weather. They were all professional and courteous, left no detail unattended, and cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. The price was fair and Greg made sure everything was to my satisfaction even coming back afterwards to add a couple of finishing touches I requested. Greg's team leader Enrique demonstrated unmistakable pride of craftmanship throughout the process and it really shows in the completed job. I would definitely have them back again.
