We met Matt at the annual home and garden show at Cal Expo and had him over to help design a cantilevered pergola and give us a bid. Although a bit pricey, you get what you pay for and we loved the cantilevered look for its open and inviting look. Engineering and permitting took a bit of time but we are very happy with the results. Osman was our project manager and as soon as the posts were placed it took only about 1 week to finish! The crew was friendly and excellent and listened to any concerns we had. I would recommend Patio Perfections without hesitation! My project manager had someone from patjo perfections come out to look at our existing patio cover and provide an estimate to fix a section of our existing cover and to provide a lift that will lift the patio cover up when the roof is being replaced and the person never provided us a quote. Osman Mendoza came out May 8th. Insurance was going to cover the cost so I am shocked they didn't want to provide an estimate. I do not recommend. read more

Our 2nd estimate consisted of a lot of "no, you can't do that..." so our choice was an easy one. Rob and his partner came and did the install and I can't say enough about them. Had their salesman (Bryan Baker) come out. What a disaster. First off I have been in Construction for 40 years. I have actually bought and installed on my own the cover they sell. This guy had no knowledge of my local jurisdiction for permits. He told me my house my not have enough power to run LED lights and ceiling fans. He told me that the engineering (even after I told him I actually had the engineering and could read and understand it) would not support what we wanted. I would avoid them at all cost. My opinion they are looking for people who have trouble saying No. read more

The initial consult was great. But not Halle with my finished product. I did not want the cover to overhang over my pool and block my Cabo shelf from getting sun. The finished size extends out a couple feet larger then we discussed. Upon install it dropped the temp of my poop immediately by several degrees since the poop now has so much shade over it. Hard to know where to start. Really good initial experience with the sales person and planning. However, so many details were vague and I feel intensional on their part. If you don't ask the specific correct questions you will not get important information from them. The construction crew was great. When I first moved to Roseville, we desperately needed a patio cover...so we drove around the neighborhood to find what we perceived to be the best-looking from an "over-the fence" view. One design stood out, so we went and talked to the homeowner about their patio cover and they said "Patio Perfections". We called Wally and he came out to look at what we wanted. Interestingly enough, Wally found a pool location mistake that our Landscape Architect made in the plans. He recommended an update...with his design ideas...and we couldn't be happier with our decision. Our neighbors have also been impressed and used Patio Perfections. Since our first install, we have added a couple smaller patio covers at our residence and most recently...added a patio cover to our investment home in Lincoln. Patio Cover Installation seems to be a very competitive and cut-throat business. Lots of bad apples out there (read your Nextdoor sites) and others that will badmouth their competition...just to get a job. I think the best recommendation that I can provide for Patio Perfections is when a neighbor's contractor was admiring our patio cover from the neighbor's roof and asked "Who did that?". When I responded "Wally at Patio Perfections", the neighbor's contractor had nothing but positive things about Wally and his company's work. That is a rarity these days. read more

Let me first begin by saying the 1 star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the work performed. The patio covering turned out great, and the guys that came to perform the installation were very professional. However, the salesperson, Tyrone, is without a doubt the biggest POS salesman I have ever met. The one star rating is entirely based upon the salesman, Tyrone, as he is VERY unprofessional and really makes the company look bad. In both incidents in which Tyrone made an error, he became defensive and insisted that he was not at fault. Tyrone's first error was not obtaining accurate measurements of our patio, as he was off by nearly two feet (instructions were to cover one end of the patio to the other. Not difficult instructions). Because of Tyrone's error, we had to stop during our installation to get ANOTHER quote, just to account for the additional two feet. A job that should've taken less than one week, was prolonged for almost a month. During signing of the contract, Tyrone also failed to mention that the customer has to pay for the ceiling fan out of pocket; this is CLEARLY something that should have been mentioned during signing of the contract as it incurs additional costs to the customer. After calling Tyrone to speak about the ceiling fan, he had the audacity to call me a liar and kept insisting that he was not at fault. In addition, he gave me the owner's phone number because he clearly didn't want to deal with the issue himself. Tyrone is NOT a professional by ANY stretch of the imagination. Fortunately, I spoke with Travis, the manager, and he took care of the issue. Travis was professional, courteous, and understanding; essentially, everything that Tyrone is not. If you're reading this review, and have reached this point, I would highly recommend Patio Perfections. However, I would also recommend avoiding Tyrone, as he is without a doubt the biggest POS salesman I have ever met. Furthermore, avoiding Tyrone will save you a lot of time and energy. read more

So the wife and I are in the middle of a home improvement project and Patio Perfections is one of the contractors we are using. We just had a sliding door and French Doors installed by another contractor (*which turned out fantastic!) and we needed to have a patio cover installed to highlight our pool and backyard. As you can see by the pictures, the pool is nearly done. Now if the rain would stop so we can get the rest of it completed. Anyway Patio Perfections has done a wonderful job in installing the cover. I have to give a BIG FIST Bump to Matt and his team in working so hard on this. There were a few bumps along the way (mostly rain related), but they persevered. Matt even gave the cover a custom look by offsetting a portion of the cover to blend the pool characteristics in. The wife was taken back by this offset and loved it! For me the Apollo System is the only way to go. (If i had the budget in the project for it, I would have made the whole cover Apollo!). Combined with the Solid cover, this build out is well beyond my expectations. We had our Apollo system with ceiling fan and a heater installed last summer. We love the Apollo unit and fan but the heater never worked properly. The Patio Perfections installers Randy and Travis came out five times to fix it and they could never get it working. Patio Perfections refused to send out their master electrician to look at the issue. Almost a year later, we ended up paying a brand new electrician to re-wire the unit and fix the problem. My neighbor is also having issues with the electrical in their unit. Almost a year later their unit is still not working properly either. I'd highly recommend not purchasing Apollo from Patio Perfections due to their lack of customer service and expertise on their installs. read more

Once the permitting process was complete (was a bit delayed due to COVID), an installation date was scheduled promptly (Kristen in the office is awesome!). The crew who came out and installed the patio cover was professional, friendly, and kept me informed of all their progress. They ran electrical and assembled and installed a fan for me. I would like to update my review. Halfway thru the project we added 2 can lights. This somewhat throu the instal crew for a loop. It's just two can lights. Throw them in and move on. Well during the wiring something got pulled up the wall. Shit happens in my opinion. They had to come back with a brace to climb on top of the structure to fish the wires down. My point here is, the communication demonstrated here was flat horrible. We had to wait a month for them to finish this. Granted it was an 'add on' but that shouldn't matter. I had to cancel 1 time due to they needed access to my house but they canceled at least half a dozen times, for a magnitude of reasons. I had to bug all parties involved multiple times, as a paid for customer that's not acceptable. Before taking on new jobs, 100% finish the jobs you have taken on. We are happy with the product but as you can see in all my reviews customer service and communication is huge for me. This place needs to improve on it. read more

This 5 stars is for Byron Baker. We worked with him on our project for our outdoor structure. When we had an on-site meeting he was very professional and took lots of pictures and accurate measurements. He explained everything during the design process and even met us on a weekend to show us examples. His follow up and communication is some of the best I have ever had with a contractor. They had really competitive pricing too. We did not end up signing a contract with Patio Perfections due to some wording in their standard contract, even after letting Byron know that we had not chosen them he was very gracious and wrote us a very nice email. read more

The owner Matt came over to do an estimate for the project , we discussed the details and exchanged few messages after his visit and he asked for some skitches/diagrams to show what I was thinking of doing . He said he will get me the estimate next week , few weeks passed by and despite my multiple calls and text messages to him, he did not even bother to call back or even text message , what an attitude ! . I am glad I did not end up giving him the buisness , such a rude behaviour towards his customers , if this is how he treats his potential customers , I can only imagine how he behave with customers who he secures their money , do yourself a favor and give your project to other businesses, there are good ones out there that really care and do good job. read more

Mike, Tony, and AJ did a fantastic job! Mike came out for the initial quote, answering all our questions and put zero pressure on us. We asked if we could go see a house that had what we were thinking of doing, and Mike quickly got us a location to go see. After that, we decided to go with the combination covering, with two Apollo sections, one solid section, along with two fans. Tony and AJ installed the project. They were clean, friendly, timely, and trustworthy. In addition, when one of our new fans didn't work, Tony said they could come back to install another one. They followed through and did just that. I had them install a 12x13 solid patio cover Rich the sales rep was great he was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Quote was very reasonable. They Installed the patio cover in a little over a week from agreement.There was one lil hiccup during the install but was resolved quickly tony worked very quickly and completed our patio in half a day. I used Patio Perfections to build a patio cover in November of 2018. The cost of the project was over $14,000. And while the initial result looked great, there were a number of leaks. They were very responsive initially, taking care of all leaks except for one small, but irritating leak considering the cost of this project. And while they've come out a few times first trying a few things (i.e. adding calking), unsuccessfully, and then saying they'd take the cover apart and reassemble, they NEVER follow through. Either they don't reply to phone messages for weeks at a time, or they send new people out to "diagnose" the problem, but do NOTHING. When I send them photos and videos of the leak, they don't pass it on to each other. The last time they called a couple weeks ago they said they'd be sending yet another person over to evaluate this problem that's already been evaluated many times, with no action. So, while they seem to be customer oriented, they have been far from "perfect". This is really unfortunate, as I really like the cover over all. We were looking to add a shade structure to our house and we solicited 4 bids. Patio Perfection gave us the best price and Matt made us feel very comfortable with our decision to go with Patio Perfections. The workers arrived on time and were very friendly. The foundations were dug on Monday, inspections performed Tuesday morning and the awning was complete by mid day on Wednesday. When the job was complete the guys cleaned up and it looked like they were never here, accept for the beautiful new awning on the back of our house! Well, let's say I was so excited to write this review after talking to the salesman. He was kind and explained everything perfectly. Unfortunately, that's where our good experience ends. The workers that came to our house left all of the materials in our trash cans without notifying us and we were told numerous times that they were to take all the scraps with them to dispose of. Our yard had shrapnel and debris EVERYWHERE - the cherry on top is that we have little kids and 2 dogs and a cat and I'm 9 months pregnant. The job was done fast and it looks it. The material is damaged and it was still used. The dual roof/ceiling patio cover that was agreed upon as well as paid for was not done; we are stuck with single pane, damaged goods. The receptionist NEVER answers the phone- not a single time have I called and been able to get a hold of her and her lovely professional skills told me that we are not her only clients.. nice.. I don't understand how this company still has 4 stars. I'm very disappointed in the lack of customer service, quality of materials as well as the overall experience. Try someone else, that way you won't have the headache we do now. Hopefully, I will be able to update you with a better review but as of now it's be 2 weeks of nonsense read more

Our experience with Byron who was our initial salesman has been great. His communication is wonderful and he has continued to check in throughout the project to make sure we are happy. However, he is the ONLY person in the company with these skills. We had already fully paid for our cover and found a small hole in our stucco that was clearly made on install. No one will return our calls and get this taken care of. 75% of the time we can't even get ahold of anyone in the office, and have been told a dozen times we would hear from the GM and nothing still. This is completely unacceptable customer service and I am really questioning my decision on choosing Patio Perfections for our job. read more

We had a patio cover installed less than five years ago. When they came to do a consult, measure, and show us what our options were, the guy who came out was very professional and helpful. I was very pleased with our cover for the most part. It seemed well-built and looked nice, with the exception of the jagged edge around the end of the drain pipe that ran down the side of the cover. Fast forward four and half years and my cover is bowing. My husband first tried contacting them a year ago, in February to March 2019, and they said they'd have someone call him back because they needed to look into the warranty first. Two weeks later no one had called him back. So he called and they said our warranty was still good, although we already knew that. And the said they'd be calling us to set up a time to come look at the problem. Numerous calls later, they never called back. Every time I called I spoke with Mirna, their receptionist, who was very nice and sympathetic to our frustration of unreturned calls and their unresponsiveness, but was not very helpful. She kept telling me that it was an easy thing to check on. She said they just needed to get someone out here to take pictures and assess the problem, and that we didn't even have to be home!....but the property manager, Robert, was very busy and she just needed to pin him down to get a date. I kept getting put off for months and months. She kept telling me she had a sticky note on her computer monitor with my name on it and wasn't going to take it off until they had come out and fixed our problem. Flash forward a year, they still have not returned calls and have not come out to check or fix our patio cover. My advice with this company is to stay away!!! Soon after purchasing our house in 2012 we realized we desperately needed some relief from the summer sun in our West-Facing backyard. My brother had previously had a patio cover installed by Patio Perfections and highly recommended them. Wally came out and provided a quote. He was so friendly and easy to work with. I originally wanted an insulated patio cover (like my brother had gotten) but Wally actually talked me out of it. You heard me right, he actually suggested I not upgrade to the insulated cover because it wouldn't be cost-effective for us (since the tax rebates were no longer available). The guys who completed the work were great. It passed inspection with no problems. A few months later after we got our first rain we noticed the gutters weren't keeping up with the water flow so I contacted Patio Perfections and they came back out and installed an additional gutter. 5 years later I have no regrets about hiring Patio Perfections to install the patio cover for us, we love it! read more

BE AWARE - OF SCUM-M-M!! I called for the estimate on my prospective sunroom - estimate came out very decent in price and on the spot (which gave us more discounts) we hire the guy expecting to enjoy a new sunroom in 3 weeks the most. One week after another - all quiet. Contact him (Wally Petersen) via e-mail since the guy never answered the phone. He kept feeding us some kind of bull sheat about problems with City permits, him going almost every day to the City and finally in a 2.5 months later (again via e-mail) he notify us about additional cost in permits - in what amount your asked?! $5K - YES, FIVE THOUSANDS US DOLLARS for the permit for the stupid SUNROOM! which not even big in the size!! Can you believed this sheat!! And of course, 1K in deposit was gone, because he supposedly worked hard on the project. I hope this review will help others not be a victim of a fraud like us. read more

Where to start. Saw this company at the home garden expo last year at Cal Expo. We wanted an Apollo opening roof system patio structure for outback yard. Ended up contracting with them. That is where the mistake happened. Matt came out and provided us a quote and he was pleasant. Then two guys Matt and Kyle came to dig the footings and they did not know the city code for setbacks. Had to stop them mid dig and then the project halted. They wanted my landscaper to do everything for them, dig footings and run electric and gas for them. Long story short, finally had the structure delivered after footings were complete. Juan is a horrible sub contractor who was supposed to be their best installer. During the install the structure was scratched and he tried to go to Lowe's and get paint to cover up a perfectly delivered structure. That is only the beginning. He drilled holes in it that were not necessary and ultimately never filled them. Then rain and you guessed it, it leaked everywhere. Even through the electrical that was run for my ceiling fan. The heater was installed and never worked properly with its two stage switch. So they have been out four times, twice with their own electrician and could not figure it out. Now they want to run conduit on the oust side of the structure to fix this issue of a dead short. This is 220V that because of their crappy install could have caused a fire. They take no care in their install and pulled wires through sharp, jagged edges and nicked the wires therefore causing the short. They have false advertising in that all their photos have the wires run inside the structure. Now because of their mistake, they want to run them on the outside? The owner Wally, has been out several times and he wants me to trust him. I have asked them not to return to the property. I hired an outside electrician who came out and diagnosed the problem in 5 mins and now it's going to cost me another $800 to fix their mistake as their electrical does not even meet code. The total bill for my structure was $30,000 and no customer service to write home about as they are totally incompetent. A project manager named Robert never showed up until there was a problem. Hiring Patio Perfections was a total waste of time and money. Please stay away from this company as they will steal your money to. The water still comes through my $800 haiku ceiling fan. Now seeking damages against this company. read more

Completely satisfied with our Patio Perfections experience. They built a large trellis cover to cut down the direct exposure from the eastern sun. The install crew did a nice job and cleaned up at the conclusion of the job. And here is the best part ... After a few months our maintenance guy noticed a missing end cap owing to who knows what. Gave PP a phone call and they immediately sent out a replacement at no charge!!! read more
