YAS!! This place is awesome! I have been here a couple times for drinks and relaxation. I came here because a friend of mine (DJ SKU) was djing and I know he's an awesome DJ so I stopped in. What a cute little spot! When I say "little spot" that's exactly what I mean lol.This place is TINY. That is the only reason why I didn't give Sidebar a 5 star rating. It's located right across from the steakhouse CUT so it's perfect if you are having dinner to just head over to sidebar after for drinks and lounging. It's such a fun atmosphere and having a DJ versus just stereo music adds such a nice touch. Advice I will give, make sure you read the bathroom signs correctly. The bathrooms are so nice that if you have had a few drinks and you are a lady, you may end up in the wrong bathroom.. like I did... :o LOL The bartenders and cocktail servers are great and super helpful with the drink menu and they aren't pushy. Valet is available, however, there is tons of street parking and meters close by. There is no dance floor, but, people tend to still dance in the tiny space in front of the DJ so in a sense, I guess you can make your own dance floor. I love this place and definitely recommend it! I've been here many times and I always forget about this little gem. Great bar, great location, friendly service. They have a wide array of the worlds finest scotches. Ok so this place is amazing. You get the amazing food from cut combined with insanely good cocktails in a relaxed environment. Perfect for a quick business drink or to hang out and enjoy the food. Favorite drink is the pepinos revenge, Dana the sommelier has an amazing by the glass wine list. Favorite food- I always get the mini burgers and the pastrami sandwiches. This is a great lounge! This place is perfect for just a drink, snacks or dinner. They have a nice selection of wines, with a knowledgeable staff to help you find the perfect one, as well as great cocktails. They provide small 'bar snacks' which are definitely not your typical bar snacks - the spicy almonds are addicting. The food overall is delicious and they provide lots of options from small finger foods to full dinner. The mini burgers and the pastrami sandwiches are fabulous. I also love the the tomato tartlet and for dessert the salted caramel chocolate bars are a must have. The service is a very friendly and attentive. While it is a bit pricey, it is also an experience and a fun place to come with friends, on a date or for business drinks. I will definitely be back! read more

This review is for the service tonight, because I actually thought the bar was amazing. The blonde female bartender tonight was extremely rude. She saw me three times calling her over to order some drinks and she would look over give a rude smirk and continue doing her own thing. I also asked her what was the best cocktail on the menu being that it was my first time there, and she looked at me rolled her eyes and said "why don't you just look at the menu". That's a first because bartenders are always so eager to recommend a drink but I guess she wasn't in the mood. I planned on ordering a few rounds with my friends but one drink was enough and then we were ready to go somewhere with better service. She sucked as a bartender honestly, never met a rude bartender before so this was a first for me. I would come back, hopefully she's not my bartender though! read more

One of my best nights out in L.A (recently relocated here from the east) I decided to check this lounge out because I enjoy a sexy ambiance and per Yelp reviews this seemed like the place to go. I was right and enjoyed every minute. So I came on a Friday night and parked literally on the street near valet (not a long walk at all) This is at the Beverly Wilshire hotel and across from a restaurant called Cut..so a lot of people are walking in and out the busy vibe is exciting. Anyway so I walk in and the lights are dim I like the classy decor and the people are nice looking. I order a glass of wine..the bartender was quick and I took a seat..I met some interesting and people and really enjoyed the scene. A friend of mine arrived and we moved over to the sofa and enjoyed a intimate conversation The waitress was pretty attentive during the night. We ended up staying until it closed due to the comfortable vibe and great drinks. I would for sure go back. read more

Lame as expected for 4Seasons hotel, but awesome drinks, comfortable seating and cool music in the background We had blackberry martini and mojito - so delish and punchy, as good as it gets! They serve drinks with a tray of spices&olives which worked well with mojito. One can order food from a small menu (kobe beef sliders!) or from Wolfgang's CUT across the hall (!!!). Two stars off for mediocre looking staff and same goes for crowd and having sports channel on a big screen TV (tip to mgmt: unless u going for after-work-sportsbar-crowd think FashionTV - u are on corner of Rodeo Dr, think about it). Sidebar isn't so much a stand alone bar, but more so a nice waiting area for your table to be ready at the upscale steakhouse Cut. Being as such, I expected a much more negative experience. We went for the Yelp Happy Hour Deal (50% off drinks) and I totally expected the waitress to either not know what we were talking about and be grumpy that she had to go ask a manager, roll her eyes at girls coming in for cheap drinks because we might stiff her tip, or just be snooty because it's Beverly Hills and that's what they do there. The waitress we had was such a sweetheart, though! She was friendly, attentive, and as soon as we mentioned the Yelp Deal, she instantly smiled and named the three drinks included in the deal. I got the Bellinisimo and absolutely loved it. I appreciated the snacks they bring everyone, a tray of olives, cinnamon almonds, and wasabi peas. I liked the music, but then, that's because I have a secret fondness for Britney Spears and the like. The crowd certainly wasn't a mingling crowd, because as I mentioned they're all just really waiting for their dinner tables to be available. Overall, I don't think there's any reason I would really come back unless I was in the area and it was early enough for happy hour, because that drink was really delicious but I won't be paying $17 for one. read more

A bit rich for my blood but went here for drinks with some older family friends, since we were going to be taking them out to dinner in WeHo and neither the Motherlode nor a dive bar would be a suitable option for some fifty-somethings. The bar is small-ish but clean and sleek. Definitely comfortable for a conversation place though it did start filling up/getting loud on our way out. And the seats were not what you'd call comfortable. Music was not exactly my choice, especially given how early we were there (around 7pm, but the music was more suitable for midnight). However, they did make me a Shirley Temple, so at least they like us DDs. Unfortunately, the Shirley Temple was not the best - but who really orders those at classy joints like this? Moot point. We liked that they gave us some complimentary nibbles... they are all spicy - even the sweet-ish nuts had a spicy punch at the end. The other drinks that my group ordered looked and apparently tasted good, but dang, they're expensive. (Note: of course, it's at the frickin' Beverly Wilshire... what am I thinking?) We didn't order food, but what other people got looked mighty tasty - sliders, dishes with tableside presentation, yum. And the waitstaff was very attentive and kept asking us if we wanted refills... they just weren't attentive when we needed to hightail it out of there to make our reservation. We were too cheap to valet, but there's plenty of street parking on Beverly Blvd., just a stone's throw away. read more

This was my second visit here. Popped in after an event at 2 Rodeo Drive on a super busy Thursday night. Even though it was busy we were immediately approached by the manager who got our drink order & promised us a table within 10 minutes. Our drinks arrived in 5 and within 10 we were at a very cozy primo table with sofas. The drinks were strong and tall (me likey). We got the tuna tartare, kobe sliders (that were so tiny and cute we didn't wanna eat them & yes we did and they were awesome) & hand-cut fries with truffle sauce & ketchup. The food was yummy and really piqued my interest to try Cut, the restaurant across the hall. Non-happy hour it's a little pricey & I could live without the glare of the basketball games playing but the very diverse crowd of hipsters, over-pulled Beverly Hills types, models & the guys that chase them seemed to be into it. I'm always down for a great off the beaten track happy hour spot and can't wait to add this to my list! 5 - 7 pm $7 cocktails (normally $17), $7 wines and $7 apps. Very nice. We come here for some drinks, waitress are not the nicest. The bar needs a nice look it was not the best deco but whatever. I order one Pearfect Martini my husband 3 shots of johnny blues and coke... The pearfect Martini was so strong it felt as if I had 2, I did not need more then one. The people that come here are a mix of middle eastern people/ white and asians and those girls that you know are not suppose to be in there ( just looking for a sugar daddy or a drunk guy to pick them up) I prefer to go to windows bar way high end and nice music. read more

I love this place. Its perfect for meeting up with a few friends for drinks without dealing with the club/lounge craziness in other places. Its fun cause you can get really dressed up and you won't look out of place. Its definitely where the guest at the Beverly Wilshire hang out. And everyone is wearing designer clothes. The drinks are good but all over $10. But they come with a tray of nuts, chips and wasabe peas (which I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!) Since CUT is right across the hallway from this bar, you often have Wolfgang Puck come in and say hello. He's very friendly and would come and ask whether you're enjoying yourself. Great spot for a quiet drink during the week - the atmosphere is chill, you can talk quietly and the drinks are strong but excellent (dangerous combination, albeit). 2 cocktails will run you $50 including tip, but worth a visit for the vibe and its easy accessibility to Rodeo Dr. and nearby bars/restaurants. Great Lounge!!!! The hubby and I got to CUT a little early, so we opted to sit at the Sidebar lounge while we waited for our table. I love the feel of this lounge, its dimly lit, with an intimate side and a more casual side with flatscreens where you can watch the game. The noise level in this lounge is peeerfect! Cause when its too quiet it can get a little weird, but when its too loud its just obnoxious... this place was just right!! As far as drinks go, I got one of their hand crafted coctails, the 'Show Me Love'. DANG! these bartenders sure know how to make a great drink! My cocktail was sweet and sassy, just what I needed to start the night!!! You can also order bar bites or just enjoy your drinks with the complimentary spicy almonds and olives!! Disgusting place. Worst experience. I went with my fiance just to hangout and have a good time. We didn't get a waiter to our table for about 20 minutes after sitting & when she came she was in such a rush to go. She didnt care that we were trying to order. We got drinks and appetizers, i got the "hello kitty" drink. First off i asked her if its sweet she said yea totally. The drink was spicy not sweet, and besides that there was a bug inside. I asked the waiter she said "oh ok u want a new one", i said yes. Had to wait another 15 minutes just for the drink to come. & funny part at the end they tried charging for 2 drinks instead of 1. Small bar in the hotel, went there on a saturday night and within 2 minutes got a table. Ordered a couple of appetizers and 3 rounds of drinks and each time the drinks, appetizer and the service was impeccable. The waitresses were super nice and randomly got us a side of fries on the house.. as a surprise! What an amazing place, would love to go back. On the downside,the drinks and tiny appetizers are about $20 each so the bill quickly added up. But it was well worth it! Oh, G-d where do I start? Sidebar is at exactly what it is; a hotel bar. This is one of those places that leaves you pondering, "There has to be more to life than this?" I stayed for about an hour and a half just because I felt bad my friends were here. I couldn't even order a drink here I was so confused. The place looks nice and the DJ decent, but BH will continue to be for business lunches only. This place gets three stars because: 1. It's the Beverly Wilshire, 2. Valet didn't charge me (must have been the look on my face), and 3. My car looked really nice coming out of valet. "Check!" I have been here many times with friends, family, and entertaining guests from abroad. Service is good, bartenders are friendly and also very professional. What I like the most about this bar is that I never know what to expect, in terms of the crowd. One night I took my mother and there was a big group of people probably in their 50s-60s partying, dancing, having a great time, quite fun (and funny in a good way) to watch. They took our hands and invited to dance with them. We didn't think we'd end up dancing that night but we did, and we enjoyed it! Sometimes it's quiet with just a few businessmen. Sometimes filled with couples enjoying a calm, romantic time. Usually bars and restaurants have certain crowd they attract and has the same vive every visit. But here, it's different every time. But not to worry, with this level of a hotel, the crowd is always classy. read more

We had a 2 day layover in LA and some locals had highly recommended Cut to us. However, after eating a pretty late lunch, we still did not want to miss being at one of Wolfgang's restaurants so we decided for light fare in the Sidebar. I wish we had more time in LA because I would definitely be back. Mounir and the staff were awesome, our food was delicious and we enjoyed listening to "lively" conversations with some of the regulars. The first bartender (I forget his name, sorry!) made some great food recommendations and brought out the wonderful freshly made breads as well as the almonds snacks. While the price of the cocktails were more than we usually spend, the service, ambiance and conversation with Mounir totally made up for it. Mounir helped make the ending of our birthday/anniversary celebration trip perfect! If we are ever back in the area, we will definitely be back. read more

My lady has some intriguing friends or people she associates with for various strange needs she has. I don't mind this as long as she keeps these folks at arms reach and they never step foot in our house. Her friends asked us out to give this hotel bar a try. These friends of hers we'll call Elizabeth and John are very forth coming with their private life and by our second drink (possibly their third) they had forced the topic of bathroom sex and all it's tawdriness. Despite my history with such activities I did not offer any info. The Lady by my side was grateful. Sidebar is a slick hotel bar at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons and adjacent to Cut the people here seem to be on the flesh with money but in LA you never know. I enjoyed a satisfactory vodka martini and a shrimp cocktail(not something I ever order but it just seemed to have to happen) But . . . Sidebar is cool for a hotel bar i guess, I guess out would bring me down from my room to check out what other freaks I'm sharing a building with. My second martini was as good as the first and just as expensive. the bartender was curt with us as expected and there weren't many smiles going around with the staff but I suppose that's the norm when working on a Saturday night. Sidebar is one of the best kept secrets of Beverly Hills! I've been here for happy hour and non-happy hour and I have to say, I love this place! For all you frugal snobs out there, happy hour is 5-7pm m-f with $7 cocktails (normally $17), $7 wines/other well drinks, and $7 apps. They even give you free munchies to nosh on while you wait for your food/drinks! Score! By the way, the menu is the same as Cut's with some additions such as the kobe sliders ($7 during hh) and some other small sandwich type offerings. I've been to this place before for an event - which was awesome - so I wanted to come back and try it again when the food wasn't preset and the tab wasn't covered. You seat yourself here, so we sat in some low couches against the wall because all the normal tables were taken. It ended up being nice and cozy, and we had the area to ourselves for most of the night. Fortunately we were finishing up in time before the DJ, who spins at 9, turned on the speaker he set up right by our heads. The full menu from Cut next door is available here, which is really nice. But we weren't looking for a big meal, so we started with three appetizers off the Rough Cuts menu: knishes, wagyu beef sliders, and grilled cheese. Let me just say now, all the servings and all the items are VERY small. Everything's pretty much bite size and the sliders only come with three, so for two people you have to add one. Each plate came out one by one, which I thought was odd at first but ended up working well. The kinishes are pretty lackluster and I wouldn't bother ordering them. They're little croissant balls filled with mashed potato. They have zero flavor, so the Dijon that comes on the side is a must - and that's coming from someone who doesn't like mustard. Grilled cheese was next, and that was my favorite of the three. It had creamy gruyere cheese (also one of my faves) and minced truffles in it; a dainty smear of ketchup laid out for each sandwich quarter. Last were the sliders: itty bitty patties between itty bitty buns with a pickle sliver and just the right amount of sauces (ketchup?). I tried to savor them by eating each in three little bites, but they truly were bite size. We were debating on ordering more food when we first put in our order - maybe getting fries or onion rings to accompany the other items. And we debated further at the end. Snacking on the free almonds that come out and eating our three apps, we were comfortable but could also order more. Instead, we decides to splurge on a dessert and ordered the "Anti" Hangover Bar (the waitress had no idea why it was called that), a chocolate chip and peanut butter cookie baked in a little pan, topped with vanilla ice cream and with whipped cream and chocolate syrup on the side. It definitely wasn't what I expected, but it didn't matter because once I took a bite, I was in heaven. It was soooo delicious and was also fresh out of the oven. The dessert was surprisingly a generous size compared to everything we had thus far. The reasons for the reduced star: - Disappointing knishes - Slightly overcooked dessert - Limited beer menu, with mostly German beers - Ridiculously small portions - Main reason: Extremely high prices for how little you get (food and drinks). When someone invited me to have cocktails at the Pretty Woman hotel, this is NOT what I was expecting. I expected a stuffy hotel lobby full of people drinking manhattans and wearing ascots. Ok, not really...but I did NOT expect a super happening crowd, an amazing DJ, craft cocktails and a full dancefloor. This place was so fun on a Saturday night! The music was fantastic! I heard from a fellow patron that it also gets "poppin" Thursday nights. Anyway, the bar here is a bit small and bartenders aren't super friendly and they play that game where they pretend not to see you for a while. The cocktail waitresses however are GREAT! They are sweet and attentive, so you might want to just bunker down and wait for one of them. Drinks here are PRICEY! But then again you are in Beverly Hills, so $19-25 per cocktail shouldn't shock you thought it still shocked me. Despite this, I did have one of the best cocktails I have EVER had at this bar..."THe Devil in Disguise" - Patron Reposado, Passion fruit Puree and a Smoky Chili rim. WHOA. I can't stop thinking about it. It is very rare that people are attracted to a bar for something other than amazing cocktails, but when I think about Sidebar the first thing that comes to mind are their mouth-watering sliders. I'm a sucker for a great burger, and Wolfgang's miniature version at Sidebar is at the top of my list of favorites. The beef was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of cheese and a bit of sauce. The slider isn't the only great food item on the menu, however, my other favorites include the smoked corn fritter (sweet, crispy and melt in your mouth amazing), the tomato tartlet and chocolate caramel dessert. Honestly, when paired with one of Sidebar's addictive cocktails, like the Pepino's Revenge, it is the perfect small bites meal. read more

I can't recommend highly enough! The atmosphere is super-chill (great if you want to sample the food from CUT, but didn't bring the wardrobe for it). We had several appetizers, champagne, and cocktails, all of which were very enjoyable, but oh the sliders! WAGYU BEEF SLIDERS. So buttery and delicious! I can't recommend highly enough. The crab rolls were also a major standout. I also had a glass of Rosé champagne that was fabulous! (I wish I could remember the name right now), and then later tried it in a Tiffany Twisted -- mixed to perfection -- which was easily one of the best cocktails I've had in months. Staff was very attentive, friendly, and helpful with their recommendations. If you're in the area and (like me) only remembered to bring jeans, shorts, and leggings to LA with you, but are dying to try the delectable wonders on the CUT menu, it's definitely worth stopping by (but still, you know, probably wear your nicer, darker leggings and some nice shoes, because it's still obviously far from a dive bar! :) ) Will definitely be back the next time I'm in LA. read more

A little snotty but the martini I had was good...nice ambiance!

After escaping from Hollywood I made my way to the Beverly Wilshire hotel in Beverly Hills! The curb-appeal of the super-structure is breath-taking. The canopies over the windows and the flags make a statement. The lobby is eat-off-the-floor clean. Magnifiscent decore from floor to ceiling instantly sooths the senses. I got to go in before midnight while high society was still awake and thriving I ordered a Daqueri after traversing three or four of the groups between the bar and the island. Then the DJ played 50 Cent music. The bartender scurried to make the drink. On the wayside another bartender came by and emphaticly said something to the effect of, you cannot do that , when I quenched my thirst with water from my flask. I informed him that it was only water and the eagle on the side matched my wallet which also has an eagle on it. I imploring exclaimed to him and the other staff members crowding behind the register that I was sitting in front of that it was more or less a canteen. The two towering gentleman in tuxedos that I cautiously passed by to get to a seat at the bar stood behind me while I waited for two or three bills ahead of me to be printed out and payed. Finally I signed and closed the tab with a pen of my own which I conveyed to the bartender was a "Doctor's Pen." I didn't need to use the hotels ink anyways. I adjusted the time on my watch. Once I took a sip I could stand up after about ten full, action-packed minutes. A couple hot ladies were showing up next to me and there was a guy next to them. I surveyed the dance floor which was hopping. The DJ played Black Widow while everyone talked and danced. I told the lady next to me I was going to ask the guy behind the bar a question. I asked the guy for a straw. With my Under Armor gloves still on I drank my goblet of grapefruit, lime and rum at an awesome table near the entrance. Finishing what I started I made suave disappearance to the men's room where I took a leak and washed my gloves. I went through the lobby past The Blvd and I was out the doors in front of Rodeo Drive. I jogged in leather shoes with 1' souls to the crosswalk. I got across only to find a man in an overcoat, white shirt and slacks picking up the four champaigne bottles next to the broken crystal bowl he most likely dropped crossing the street next to where I had done the same. It was fifteen to 1 O' Clock in the morning when I returned to the car. I even got back to Hollywood and showered in time for church! read more

Good happy hour specials. The bar has a lounge feel and allows you to order from the cut restaurant's menu across the way. There is another bar, the blvd, in the hotel that has a more mature feel with dark wood accents while this more modern/contemporary. read more
