There is also a photobooth but the night I visited, it was not working. I have been here a few times and always leave happy. The bartender, Alex, is amazing! Super helpful and patient. I got the chimichurri chicken and the lilkoi lemonade to drink - as well as an espresso martini. YALLLLLL the espresso martini is AMAZING. one of the best I've had. We got there after 5pm on Wednesday and it was closed and nobody was visible inside. The phone was disconnected too.

The area is great, the experience was mid. Service recovery was good. Who knows what the managers are doing. Went Friday night 830pm. My partners order was fine for his burger plus an egg, chips and salsa, and a seltzer. My order - steak frites and Uncle Nearest 1884. I was promptly told the steak frites isn't served anymore and they're out of Uncle Nearest. Went for wings instead (in stock) with a side of fries (also in stock) and switched to a lactose free Abt 12 Belgium quadrupel. When my drink was poured it kicked the keg so I got the last bit of it but at least it was on the house because it wasn't a full serving. By the time we got to eating, an extra side of fries came out that we didn't order, no chips and salsa, and the bartender had notified us there's no eggs left in the kitchen. So you're telling me for a rush on a Friday dinner, I didn't get to have any of my original order, y'all had no eggs, the whiskey I wanted, steak, or a proper order. My fiancé went to the phoenix last night with her friend. They both got a bill under $20 and later on checking their bank statements the next day they see they BOTH got charged $50.00. They both did not tip that much to make the charge that high. This is also not the first time that something like this has happened. We called trying to resolve the issue and there is no manager on duty and the employee also said the manager isn't answering their calls or texts. The Phoenix opened up on La Cienega's Restaurant Row back in 2012 and is considered to be a whiskey/bourbon bar although they do serve various cocktails, beers and wines. They have well over 50 types of whiskey/bourbons ranging from states, countries and prices ($300+ for a 1oz pour anyone?). I stopped in a couple weeks ago with a group of colleagues/friends and the personal and friendly service was top notch. The place has a nice modern touch and feel and decorated/styled well. During this holiday season I found some nice winter touches. Kay was in charge that night whom I met and took charge in putting together a seating area for our group. She was pleasant, personable and managed things well. Mateo in the bar was super cool and friendly as well and made great drinks. There's a nice looking open area patio in the back with a huge screen. It would be cool to do an event there. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and the food although the food menu leaves a bit to be desired but had some things such as various flavored wings, French fires, chips and salsa, a pretzel, some tacos and some other things. We ordered a couple orders or wings, fries and pretzel and all were enjoyed. First time trying The Phoenix and it's definitely a nice hand out spot. It seems to be pretty hidden as you would not expect a bar to be hidden across from the 3rd Street Ross and TJ Maxx. Once you walk in it's pretty dim, head towards the back and it's a neat little outdoor spot with tables and chairs. Almost like a beer garden vibe. There's a variety of food you can order and really great drinks. They door beer, wine and cocktails here. Outside when crowded, it can get pretty noisy to talk over one another at times, but still a nice place to hang and unwind. Had the chance to try Harambe's Revenge. Rum is one of my favorite liquors because it's used to creative various sweet and fruity drinks. The presentation was like a showstopper! Topped with a leaf and infused with pineapple and a hint of lime. Drinks are strong, so no skimping here! Amazing bartenders here that really know how to make great cocktails. The Hot Girl Autumn is a great winter drink make with tequila, guava, lemon and a bit of cinnamon. It reminds me of the holidays. I just moved to the area and live in walking distance. The outside seemed unassuming with its light up Cocktails sign so we wanted to check it out. The bar itself is pretty spacious with table and bartop options inside. Classy yet unpretentious decor and lighting (lots of dark wood, glass and gold) and a bonus back patio area (non-smokers beware). When we approached the bar, the 3 bartenders didn't take any notice. Finally after trying to make eye contact, one who was starting to make an order asked one of the bartender to serve us. A little annoying but nothing major. Our drinks made up for it. They were DELICIOUS. About $15 a pop, which is honestly average, I just had HOPED that this place would offer something a little cheaper but like I said, the quality of the drinks made up for the price. We ordered the Harambe's Revenge which was a tiki style tropical bliss, the Dublin Donkey which was a twist on the Moscow Mule and the Haiku, think a lighter, less tart version of the lemon drop with a hint of class added. Great bar/lounge that's chill & no fuss. There's an indoor area that's connected to an outdoor patio where they play sports games or show old school movies like Point Break. They played a lot of 90s/early 2000 music so it's kind of a throwback bar to that time. The bar area gets pretty crowded and it took a while to get a bartender's attention, but a waitress did come by and take orders outside once the whole place got crowded. I'd recommend this place for a chill night out with friends but it does get pretty crowded later in the night. read more

If I could give the Phoenix twenty stars I would. I planned to propose to my longtime girlfriend at the Phoenix, since it was the place where we first met many years ago. Reaching out to management via email, it was immediately clear how excited and willing they were to help. The staff was endlessly accommodating and kind, especially Adam, Todd, and Matteo. Proposing is such a nerve wracking experience but the Phoenix made it as smooth and easy as I could've possibly imagined. Lucky for me: she said yes! I recommend the Phoenix for much more than wedding proposals though lol, the bar has a wonderful atmosphere, the perfect intersection of class and comfort across the board. The back patio feels like a private oasis in the middle of the busy city, with nice wooden table tops and lots of greenery. Perfect for events! Drink and food selection is excellent. Highly recommend their Big Pretzel and Fried Cauliflower as appetizers! I also am a big fan of Belgian-style beers and the Phoenix has many excellent variations. We ordered the Big Pretzel with the beer-cheese dip..AMAZING! The Beer Battered Fish tacos 5/5 and their chocolate chip cookies which were just as good. The ambiance here is great. Stopped in with 3 friends and I had the enormous pretzel, a friend enjoyed the Paloma cocktail which turned that frown upside out of this world into post orgasmic interstellar!! The salt of the pretzel wasn't finished tempting the desirous pallet of the next Friend who enjoyed Guinness from a can poured so well you'd think marketing people were missing a perfect pour with sip to welcome more. The service was quick and very welcoming considering it was oscars night which made it empty but this exposed the entire ambiance of a lunge that has even more food to offer, live music and a SMOKING area. Sure it's not the right choice for health, but for those of us who get it wrong on purpose there is a great area out back complete with cool natural wood tables and BOARD GAMES for simply fun seekers.
