The drinks were strong but the flavor was just okay, I'd suggest being specific about your order. The ambiance here is actually incredible though the staff seems to be caught up in their own world and take some time to speak to you. We initially walked in and went to the wrong side of the restaurant, and they sort of just looked down until we had been standing there for what felt like ages before they directed us to the other bar. We were greeted quickly at the next bar, but not checked on for a while. When we asked for their recommendations, there were some blank stairs and I'm not sure if they couldn't get their words together to oblige, but they didn't seem to have trouble talking to their coworkers. We did venture upstairs after we finished our drinks and discovered that there's a whole Nother bar and what appears to be a stage for live music which we found exciting. It was still pretty quiet apart from the music ... i'm pretty curious if this just happens to be because we went in the afternoon. All in all, I'm actually looking forward to going back because the space is so incredible, but I will keep a few of these hacks in mind: Know what you want to drink as soon as you sit down, and be specific. I wasn't impressed by State Social House. I initially decided to stop here for dinner since it was within walking distance of the music venue I was attending. Location-wise, it's in a prime spot in West Hollywood, and aesthetically, it's really nice as well. However, the food wasn't anything I was left craving more of. I tried the wings, which were a little on the dry side, as well as the vodka pasta, which was just ok. The drinks, on the other hand, were pretty good (and strong), so no complaints there. Vegetarian options along with fun things to drink gave us a good experience in a shabby-chic, rustic atmosphere. This is a sit down restaurant with table service but actual large tables are sparse so we were at a small round spot, just big enough to house our food and drink, but not quite enough to spread out. Service was great...the staff were friendly and our order came quickly on an early Friday evening. I was happy to have a good vegetarian option and thought the vegan tacos were delicious with plant-based meat and other good and tasty ingredients. There are plenty of other options if you're a vegetarian including a vegan burger, pastas, salads and pizza...So not anything so elevated, but definitely comfort-forward and delicious. We had an amazing dinner while watching the LA Rams game. They have plenty of TVs to have a great watching experience. The food was excellent! I ordered the vegan tacos, which were absolutely amazing, I wish I would've taken pictures. My husband had their burger, and he gave it both thumbs up! The Indiana University trek toward greatness in football has taken a long time. As a parent of a student there in the early 2000s, the scene was grim. Not now!!! My daughter lives in LA. I went to State Social House after an event at Book Soup last month. It wasn't my first time trying to go for a post-Book Soup drink, but the bar is sometimes too loud and busy for my old lady taste. Not so at 9:00 on a random Thursday, when I walked in with my new friend Yiming M. State Social House is a casual bar and restaurant on the Sunset Strip, with its attendant bad parking and Sunset Strippiness. It doesn't have a ton of character and the music is on the loud side, but the vibe is informal and pleasant, at least on a slower night. We hung out for a couple rounds and got quick, friendly service. I'd eaten but Yiming hadn't, and we arrived at the very wise decision to share a giant platter of nachos. These were tasty and satisfying, corn tortilla chips piled with steak, cheese sauce, black beans, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and pickled jalapeño. The cocktails seemed a little heavy on sugar and fruit juice, but I enjoyed a decent negroni. I had a beer for round two, the Tortuga Hazy IPA, refreshing and available on tap. I'm glad I finally got to drink at State Social House and suspect I'll go again now that I've checked it out. It's a solid place for an easy nightcap, as long as it isn't too crowded. read more

Location: It's in Beverly Hills at 8782 Sunset Blvd. The outside looks like a house but it's been fully renovated. The upstairs is a separate space but connects to the cigar lounge down stairs. Price: Prices are great. Its reasonable with good food and well made drinks. I used to come here when it was Red Rock, and have been coming to SSH ever since. Still a great vibe and I love the ambiance, I love sitting on Sunset Boulevard watching West Hollywood go by. The bartenders are spectacular, friendly and funny, I feel like at home whenever I come here to visit, even if it's been months! This is a really cool bar that is very veteran friendly. I visited for an event and was very surprised how nice this bar is. There are many bars to visit inside and a cigar lounge in the basement. I am beyond disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. We chose it to celebrate my husband's birthday, and what should have been a special evening turned into a complete disaster. Throughout our meal, a young man seated behind us repeatedly pushed his chair back into my friend, forcing her against our table multiple times. After it happened several times, I politely asked him to stop. Instead of apologizing, he became aggressive, called me a "bitch," and created an uncomfortable and hostile environment for our entire group. The situation became even more shocking when he claimed to be the owner's son. When we brought the issue to management and asked for help resolving it, they did absolutely nothing to address his behavior. Rather than intervening, de-escalating the situation, or standing up for paying customers who were being harassed, management essentially sided with him and told us that we could leave. No customer should ever be subjected to verbal abuse, intimidation, or aggressive behavior while trying to enjoy a meal, especially during a special celebration. The fact that management chose to protect someone behaving this way instead of addressing the problem speaks volumes about how this establishment operates. My husband's birthday was completely ruined, and I am appalled by the way we were treated. We left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and shocked by the lack of professionalism and basic customer service. I would never return and would strongly caution others before choosing to spend their money here. read more

*ATTN* there is a billing scam here - people in our party who chose a 20% tip and also people in our party who calculated their tip specifically on credit cards all three were charged over double what they chose to tip and of people who chose to tip in cash, at least one (the only one whose bill I looked at) was charged less than a dollar for a tip on their credit card, but still they had chosen zero. Anyway, I recommend you choose to tip in cash at this place because there is a scam on tips going on. Make sure they don't charge you on your credit card for any tips. Also although there are things to like at this place, which is why I didn't rate it zero stars, the positives do not include the food. I had the worst carne asada (steak) tacos I've ever tried. It was hamburger meat on a subpar tortilla with some guacamole - gross! read more

Went to celebrate a friend's birthday, they offer salsa & bachata class $10 cover after 8:30pm & free before I believe. Parking in the back is $15, if you want street parking for 2hrs it's free & not too far. If you like dancing or want to learn it's a great place! They make you go in circle with different people to practice like switching partners in a huge circle & then it's free dancing to whatever music that's being played. The drinks were really good & strong! Loved the ambience & the food as well. Vegan nachos were so darn good! But overall food & drinks were pricey. A cocktail is around $19, vegan nachos, fries both of which were small portion sizes & 2 water bottles were $45. They don't give free water at least at the bar upstairs. Let start by saying, it was my 52 sec birthday on Saturday . My wonderful wife wanted to suppress me, as she normally does all the time, and it not only on special occasions, it's all the time. She has always supported my cigar smoking passion, so she made reservations for us at the State Social House, May I say this was one of the best experiences of all times. As soon as we walked we were greeted by Kelsey with a wonderful warm smile , she said, I will be taking care of you tonight , and oh boy ,it was nothing by A one service all night. She was very attentive all night. Checked up on us every 10 minutes, always concerned if we needed anything, and if everything was ok. We have never had anyone take such good care of us like Kelsey did . Thank so very much Kelsey. Then we had the pleasure of meeting Jazmine and Robert.
