Ok I love all the Hillstone Group restaurants!! This was my first time eating at The Honor Bar and it was 5/5!! I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich without the bread, devil eggs, and kale salad!! And OMG it was very good!! Even without the bread it was still on point!! The slaw was very tasty and yummy!! Kale salad with the peanuts was perfect! For my drink it ordered the Turnball Cabernet red wine that was suggested by Dylan and it was very good for my palette. The service was great! Dylan was our sever and he was very nice! And personable and easy going. Our order was not incorrect and it came out fresh and hot. But of course that's nothing new with Hillstone restaurants, they are all phenomenal!!! It's also located next to their sister restaurant South of Beverly. The Honor Wine is right next to it as well. It's dark and gives semi-upscale vibes! It's not that spacious since it's a bar so it's usually a long wait. I recommend coming early or trying to do reservations. This place is good for date night or a drink after work. Let me start this review by saying the chicken sandwich and the burger were both PHENOMENAL! Definitely worth whatever it takes to get it. Now, the place is super small with weird seating. I like the dark vibe it has going though. The most frustrating part of it all? Servers came off super pretentious and would intentionally walk by your table without looking to avoid you asking them anything. Moreover, the place doesn't let you make many changes to your order. For example, if you ask for easy rice on the sushi, they will say no. If you ask for them to put the avocado on the side due to an allergy of one member of the group, they will say no. Our items came out SUPER slow, and this was after waiting a while for a table. The sushi is subpar - heavy on the rice and not enough fish. However, the coconut shrimp roll was good. That all being said, I'd go back and deal with it all again for the chicken sandwich and the burger. Both were a bit heavy on the bread in comparison to the protein, but delicious nonetheless. read more

I love it here. Just not a fan of the wait, because it's so tiny. You cannot make reservations, unless done in person. So have a plan ahead of time. Grab a drink and sit outside if there is space maybe. In any case, it's busy because it's good. The small menu has all delicious items so you cannot go wrong. It's just the wait that kills it for me. read more

These days, it's hard to find a restaurant that excels in both food and service, but The Honor Bar seems to manage both with flying colors. First off- May, the lovely hostess with a warm smile and can-do attitude got us seated swiftly despite coming in without reservations. She's a gem! Next, Brian was our waiter and he was a delight! There's a tuna burger on the menu that is absolutely incredible--honestly one of the highlights. It's super satisfying, fresh, and full of flavor. You can really tell the quality of the ingredients, and it feels like a perfect, balanced dish. We sat at the bar, and the experience there was just as amazing. The bartenders were incredibly friendly, warm, and engaging. You could feel the great energy between them--they had such a fun bond with each other, and they made us feel included in that vibe too. It created such a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, it's just a great place to be. The crowd is stylish and pleasant, the ambiance is lively yet comfortable, and everything feels very well put together. If you're sitting in the restaurant area, you have to try the artichoke dish--it's truly wow, so flavorful and memorable. Talk about exceptional service, Honor Bar knows how to deliver an experience! We were impressed by everything from the fries to the switching out to a new ice cold glass mid-martini (I mean wow). We were super pleased with the whole experience. The sandwiches were bomb and the martinis cold and delicious. It's first come first serve, expect a little wait however we got lucky on Thursday at 5pm and got seated right away. Can't wait to go back! read more

The Honor Bar is a great place to go if you're looking for a good bar with good bar food! Great for a fun date night as well (but it was also a tad dark in there when we went.) We went there mainly for food and ordered the Veggie Burger, Emerald Kale Salad (to share), French Fries, and the Honor Burger. I did not try the Honor burger but my partner said it was pretty good...not life changing as he has read in some reviews, but still delicious! He also pointed out that the bun was also really good! I thought that the most delicious of the foods I tried was the Kale Salad. Not many restaurants can successfully make Kale taste good, let alone a BAR, but this place sure does! The reviews were not wrong about this dish, but i think it could've been bigger for the price. The Veggie burger was also really unique and delicious! If you like veggie patties made with grains and other stuff, this is one to try! It was made with rice, mushrooms, almonds and melted jack. I'm not usually a fan of veggie patties that are put together with grains or beans, but really loved this! The fries were not anything unique for me, but when I see fries on a menu, I order fries from the menu. And I did also eat most of the fries as well! Service was great, food came out fast, and servers came to check in from time to time. Overall a good experience and could definitely see myself coming back here to try the Ahi Tuna Burger and some sushi! read more

The ground chuck used was the perfect ratio with the buns. We also got the Chicken Sandwich and it was filling but could have been crispier. The service was friendly and attentive. Excellent burger! Prob the best burger we've had in a while. Juicy thick patty, fresh bun, kale slaw added that special something to make it great. Fried chicken sandwich was just as solid, but preferred the burger a slight bit more. Service was excellent, quick, efficient & friendly. Wait was around 45min on a Monday around 6pm so if you're going during prime dinner time make a reservation or plan ahead. Would def return when in the area. read more

Came for the burger. Worth the wait. Make sure to order it medium. Medium rare was a little too rare for me and I usually order medium rare for everything. I love the seasoning salt they bring with the fries. Service was slow and I think our waitress was having a bad day. The ambiance was nice though. The bar area is small and they don't take larger parties. Go with no more than 4 people. read more

Although the burgers themselves are not worth the price, you're partially paying for the ambiance and location. Honor bar is located in the heart of Bev Hills on a street full of amazing food spots. Was going there many times because of the distance to my work and spending a big chunk of money every time, but tonight when we were talking with friends and didn't order anything for almost 15 minutes the so called manager came and asked us to leave even when we still working on our recent drinks and mentioned we can't stay longer than 2 how which they never mentioned it and after I made the payment with great tips, when I said it's not professional to ask people leave he said it's ok , this is a super unprofessional and nasty place, these crooks become so nasty after you pay that you never can imagine, We were a few managers with high degrees and great job than them, I reported them to BBB, maybe someone can teach them the manner and customer service read more

This review is disappointing to write because of how much I used to love coming to Honor Bar. Most of the staff, all of the bartenders, and professional servers are incredibly friendly and the food is always delicious. Unfortunately my most recent visit was terrible due to the hostess deciding to enforce antiquated dress code rules on me and only me. When I arrived I was told my Dior short sleeve shirt was unacceptable. I hate that I am throwing in the designer but the point will be made by the end of this review. The host informed me that my top violated their dress code. Because I am happy to follow any rule or standard policy, I quickly ran to my car to find something to put over my outfit. All I could find was a black salon robe since my partner is a hair stylist. So I put it on even though it had color stains on it because it was all I had and according to them this was more permisible than a designer shirt. There is no universe in which anyone would say my outfit was now classier. However, because my arms were now covered I guess to them this was acceptable. While dining, there were multiple women and men wearing either backwards hats, spaghetti strap tank tops, flip flops, and incredibly short shorts. All of these looks were far more casual than my initial outfit and I cannot accurately explain how embarrassing it was to see them all while I had to eat wearing a salon robe. Again, I am happy to follow any rule but it is deeply hurtful and humiliating being singled out while no one else was expected to follow the rules. It doesn't help that everyone else who got a pass was white and straight appearing. It sadly makes me wonder if there were more additional layers to me being singled out. My partner told me to check their website while we were dining and I have attached a photo of what it says: "We consider tank tops, flip flops, and team athletic attire too casual for our restaurant." Upon reading this at the bar, I felt compelled to ask the manager why their rules only applied to me. She let me know that the rules mostly applied to men which is quite frankly an insane thing to say in 2025. Casual is casual. And the standard for what is or is not appropriate should have no gender. Please understand I am not trying to be elitist when I talk about the value of my clothes. It just needs to be said because my outfit was far more upscale than the sloppy men who were wearing flip flops and backward hats. It was more conservative than the women who wear essentially in pool side attire with spaghetti strap tops and outfits ready for the beach. All this to say, Honor Bar is no longer one of my favorite bars and restaurants in LA since it has become a place where I no longer feel comfortable dining due to the way they singled me out and gave every other customer preferential treatment. read more

Hands down my favorite spot in LA: the burger and fried chicken sandwich hits every time. And the only place where ordering both sushi and burger is acceptable because somehow they can do outstanding of both. Service is always to the point and so friendly. You can grab a bottle from the wine store next door to bring over without a corkage fee (again, all over the top yes- they actually have a decent wine selection to choose from). It is a small spot though with majority of the seats being bar and small 2 seater booths so if you're there with a group (or even if you're 2 but there on a weekend), expect a long wait. Expect a least an hour wait if you're going for dinner at 7pm on a weekend. The wait to get one of the best burgers in the city is the only negative thing I can say cause otherwise it would be so easy to find me there nearly every weekend. If possible, weekly lunches are much easier to manage! read more

Now all I had to do was wait 3 weeks until her visit so the experience could finally happen. The day arrived and I got my mom to Maybourne Bar with her none the wiser. From the moment we stepped through the door, the experience was a 1 million out of 10. Every course is unbelievable. This is a caviar tasting in the best way -- all nine courses are topped with generous helpings of delicious N25 caviar. You get sweet, salty, savory, comfort food, upscale dining, everything comes together in the absolute best way. I especially loved the deconstructed deviled egg and the lobster roll, and the ice cream was some of the best I've ever had. The chips and dip came with the cutest miniature potato chips (although I'll admit I could have used a few more), and the caviar salmon burger was super flavorful. And, true to their word, they surprised my mom with a birthday cake -- and then surprised us both with complimentary lychee cocktails! The service was impeccable as well. Each person on the waitstaff was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We loved how descriptive they were of each dish. It was also really nice of them to decide to give us an extra 2-top so we would have room for all of the courses. This is not only an incredible tasting menu, but made even more incredible by the price. 10 courses and a glass of champagne are $85. I was honestly shocked at how much we received for under $100. We ended up at the Maybourne Bar in the Maybourne hotel, a solid B+ lobby bar that I'd visit again under similar circumstances. The space was attractive but the vibe was strange, if not uncomfortable. Just weirdly bright lighting and a different crowd from the usual L.A. bar scene (hotel, Beverly Hills). It was pretty quiet at 10:00 on a Saturday night, and we were able to grab seats at the bar. Service was fast and polite. We ordered a Midas Touch and a Big in Japan, both decent cocktails that cost a full $30 apiece. The Midas Touch was a colorful spicy margarita with El Tesoro Maybourne Edition Reposado, Empirical Ayuuk, Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, saffron, lemon, and honey. Big in Japan was a Gold Rush variation with Hibiki Harmony, sudachi honey, lemon, sansho pepper, and yuzu bitters. There are better, more interesting cocktail bars all over L.A., but I'd recommend the Maybourne Bar if you're staying at the hotel or otherwise looking for an upscale bar in downtown Beverly Hills. You can get food, too, though most of it seems to involve caviar.

The most frustrating part came at the end of the meal when it took more than 25 minutes to receive the check. When it finally arrived, it was delivered by a manager in a manner that felt dismissive rather than hospitable. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. While I understand the practice in some situations, it felt particularly disappointing given the level of service we received throughout the evening. MATŪ serves outstanding food, and that is what earns this review more than a few stars. However, hospitality is about more than what comes out of the kitchen. For a restaurant operating at this price point, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, it did not. His passion for the food and heartfelt hospitality were major contributors to our outstanding evening. As for the food, we enjoyed every dish that came to the table. To start, we shared the Carciofi e Cuori di Palma, Branzino Tartare, Tonno Acqua Pazza Crudo, and Granchio e Caviale. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with bold, balanced flavors. Even the bread service was remarkable, particularly the focaccia, which was the standout among the three varieties offered. For our entrées, we enjoyed the Marubini, Spaghetti, Mafaldine, and Casarecce, all of which were fantastic. The house-made pastas were each cooked to perfection and showcased the kitchen's exemplary technique and care. We also shared the Fagiolo, Peperone, and Patate as vegetable sides, and each one was excellent. We concluded our meal with a trio of house-made gelati for a sweet finish. The sweet cream and pistachio flavors were both especially memorable and well worth saving a little room for. To top it all off, the restaurant graciously provided some petit fours, compliments of the house. Marea delivered the sophistication you expect from a world-class restaurant by pairing remarkable food and impeccable service. Proteins - Their steak was vey tender, but the meat itself lacked flavor. Halibut was dry and didn't have any interesting flavor. So you can skip halibut for sure. Overall, I'd rate 3.5/5 for food. As for the service, it's 3/5 as they were decent enough, but not so attentive even though our drinks and water were empty. It's definitely good for date or business meal though as it has a nice ambiance. I'd give 4/5 for that. Would I come back? Sure, but I don't have to be a repeater of this restaurant to be honest as there are many other restaurants with similar quality (if not better) of food for more reasonable price.

Steak 48 easily outshines Mastro's in both quality and execution, and even BOA along with BLVD deliver a more consistent and enjoyable experience.
