Ok I love all the Hillstone Group restaurants!! This was my first time eating at The Honor Bar and it was 5/5!! I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich without the bread, devil eggs, and kale salad!! And OMG it was very good!! Even without the bread it was still on point!! The slaw was very tasty and yummy!! Kale salad with the peanuts was perfect! For my drink it ordered the Turnball Cabernet red wine that was suggested by Dylan and it was very good for my palette. The service was great! Dylan was our sever and he was very nice! And personable and easy going. Our order was not incorrect and it came out fresh and hot. But of course that's nothing new with Hillstone restaurants, they are all phenomenal!!! It's also located next to their sister restaurant South of Beverly. The Honor Wine is right next to it as well. It's dark and gives semi-upscale vibes! It's not that spacious since it's a bar so it's usually a long wait. I recommend coming early or trying to do reservations. This place is good for date night or a drink after work. I will return when I can!! I was not disappointed with my experience or food!! They have street parking and valet for $20! -Marshay D.

Let me start this review by saying the chicken sandwich and the burger were both PHENOMENAL! Definitely worth whatever it takes to get it. Now, the place is super small with weird seating. I like the dark vibe it has going though. The most frustrating part of it all? Servers came off super pretentious and would intentionally walk by your table without looking to avoid you asking them anything. Moreover, the place doesn't let you make many changes to your order. For example, if you ask for easy rice on the sushi, they will say no. If you ask for them to put the avocado on the side due to an allergy of one member of the group, they will say no. Our items came out SUPER slow, and this was after waiting a while for a table. The sushi is subpar - heavy on the rice and not enough fish. However, the coconut shrimp roll was good. That all being said, I'd go back and deal with it all again for the chicken sandwich and the burger. Both were a bit heavy on the bread in comparison to the protein, but delicious nonetheless.

Had an amazing experience at honor bar. The service was impeccable. It took a while to get service; however, once someone took my order everything was really efficient. My drinks and order came out swiftly and my burger was cooked perfectly. I rarely order medium rare burgers but I heard the quality was amazing here and it really was. The taste was really unique. The only downside is it kinda falls apart on you and you have to use a fork and knife. Very classic ambiance.

The best burger. I've heard lots about this burger & im rlly glad u tried it. "The Honor Burger" features a number of unique toppings & flavors including barbecue & a cole slaw. It is very filling so come when you're hungry. The french fries are so crispy & delicious. They come with a side of spicy mayo & ketchup. They taste like McDonalds fries but more fresh & crispy. I'd come back for sure.

The food is pretty good but I wouldn't say it's mind blowing. The vibes are good but the wait is insanely long (1.5-2 hours on a Wednesday). Service is pretty good too - attentive servers that are nice.

Finally made it to the Honor Bar and it was mid-afternoon so able to grab a booth. Fun, cool atmosphere. Food was on-point. Great versions of a chicken fried sandwich with fries and their addictive season salt. Deviled eggs were good but not the best I've ever had (Yardbird's). Service was friendly and attentive throughout. Can't wait to go back to try the famous burger and a sushi or two.

Great vibes and service. Definitely a good collection of bottles and the bartender I had was amazing! She was knowledgeable and able to make exactly what I want! Definitely recommend!

Have yet to step foot into this restaurant, always order to go but have ordered their chicken sandwich at least 20+ times now, it is by far the best chicken sandwich I have ever had in my life

Decided to come here to have solo birthday dinner last minute, I walked-in Ordered crispy chicken sandwich (10/10): Portion is generous, not your basic bar food quality. Chicken is crispy, juicy and fresh. Everything is well-balanced. Bartender Ben made me a gin cocktail with St Germain, drinks are nice, not watered down Service is really nice and warmth, great hospitality. Didn't need to wait for a long time, got seated fast. Would definitely come back again!

I will dine at a Hillstone establishment any day :) The Honor Bar is a quick way to grab a bite of some of Hillstone's staples. Love that if you don't want anything too heavy they also offer sushi. Great spot to meet up with a friend for a quick catch up! Service is always great.

I have no complaints! I stopped by after work and had a glass of wine and the chicken sandwich. You're probably thinking "chicken sandwich?" But trust me it's delicious!!! Bread is buttered, chicken crispy, great portion, and perfect balance of savory and fresh. I sat at the bar and they constantly checked to see if I was good or needed anything. This little place does get packed so be prepared for a slight wait if you don't have a reservation. I was by myself and got seated fairly quickly.

Probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! One of my favorites in LA. The service was pretty good took care of us pretty well. It's definitely cool vibes here on the other side is a whole restaurant. On the honor bar side it's a pretty decent sized bar where they make some good cocktails!

Ask the Community - The Honor Bar

Is your food the same as the Beverly Grill, particularly the hamburger?

I think the burger is available in both places but Honor Bar has very limited menu, S.B.G. has a full menu

    Do you take dinner reservations?

South Beverly Grill does next door but Honor Bar I believe you have to check in with hostess to get on waiting list.

Is the bread for sandwiches made in house? If not, what brand is it?

Hi Jon, we bake all of our own bread at the restaurant.

    Do you allow dogs?

No, I don't believe they do.

    Do you have Happy Hour?

    NO THEY DO NOT

    Do you have outdoor dining?

No, only indoor seating. The only time they had outdoor seating was during the pandemic.

Whats the biggest party that can be seated at a table?

Pre covid I believe It was 5. Since covid I haven't been there so I don't really know. I would think the same though.

Can I order takeout without going through chow now? It's really annoying.

Yes! We are so sorry ChowNow hasn't gone smoothly for you...you are welcome to call us anytime to place an order. We really appreciate it!

How are they operating during COVID?

    Terrific

    Is the veggie burger vegan?

Don't think the bun is vegan.

Why don't you have French fries for take out during pandemic?

I know! I called them and asked and they simply said we're not serving French fries

Do they take reservations for lunch?

Hi Eric, we do not take reservations at the Honor Bar.

Do you offer happy hour food/drinks specials?

Hi Danielle, we do not offer any happy hour or specials at this time.

Do you show WWE or other pro-wrestling?

Every Monday night for RAW and on Sundays it's SMACKDOWN. You'll catch me there BOTH nights.

    Can you smoke cigars here?

Hi Michael, we don't have an area that allows for cigar smoking at this time.

On their website it stated that the $25 Saturday girl brunch deal was available till 4pm so we came at 3:35pm for our 3:30pm reservation. However, the hostess that sat us told us at 3:42 that their kitchen stopped serving this deal at 3:45. We were a confused, disappointed and feeling a bit misled. After some debate my friends and I almost left but they made an exception for us to get the deal which was very kind of them. Our server Bo was also extremely kind and lifted our spirits! He seriously made the brunch more special and enjoyable for everyone. Hopefully they can make the availability of the deal more clear for others cause it can be really frustrating to make the trip to this restaurant just for the information online to be false.Other wise, I enjoyed my experience here and would definitely come back. - valet or street parking - Small and large group seating - Indoor and outdoor seating

Did someone say "GIRL BRUNCH" !?…read more Went here on a Saturday Girl Brunch date and it was a good time! They have a really cute menu for this special occasion. Brunch was $25 each person and included a starter, an entree and a dessert. They also have $10 mimosas with lots of juices to choose from. The staff was so friendly and attentive. They started us off with chips and salsa which was so good! Then we had our first round of mimosas, I got cranberry for my first two rounds and then switched over to an espresso martini with whiskey (and if you haven't tried it YOU MUST!) Not just here but everywhere! For my starter I got the berries and cream which I usually don't do but it was so good I'm glad I went outside of my box. The Chantilly cream and fresh strawberries and blueberries were amazing. For my entree, I ordered the French Toast, I did not realize it was stuffed with some sort of apricot or fruit jam and was not the biggest fan of this. For dessert I went with the churros and was left feeling a bit let down. The churros needed salt to bring out the sweetness, they tasted a bit bland and the sauce that came with did not add to the flavors. Overall because it's such a cute place, the drinks are good and priced decently as well as having a large enough menu where the next visit I feel I could choose something different I would 10/10 go back. So stay tuned for the follow up review!

The best dining experience in Beverly Hills I've ever had!…read more From the moody decor to the food to the service, everything was so well curated and refined. The caviar omakase is the must order thing here. Everything is very small bites, but if you are mostly there for drinks then à la carte is a good option. The omakase was fantastic - nice sized portions of caviar, paired with thoughtful items like a mini lobster roll, a salmon burger, and even ice cream. The drinks are also delightful - you can taste the notes of every ingredient and nothing was too overpowering or unbalanced. But the service is by far the main reason we'll be back. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly, on top of being knowledgeable and presenting the menu in a well practiced way. They made this birthday dinner so special and went above and beyond. They do automatically add gratuity but I would've tipped more than that if possible. We ended up at the Maybourne Bar in the Maybourne hotel, a solid B+ lobby bar that I'd visit again under similar circumstances. The space was attractive but the vibe was strange, if not uncomfortable. Just weirdly bright lighting and a different crowd from the usual L.A. bar scene (hotel, Beverly Hills). It was pretty quiet at 10:00 on a Saturday night, and we were able to grab seats at the bar. Service was fast and polite. We ordered a Midas Touch and a Big in Japan, both decent cocktails that cost a full $30 apiece. The Midas Touch was a colorful spicy margarita with El Tesoro Maybourne Edition Reposado, Empirical Ayuuk, Grand Marnier Louis Alexandre, saffron, lemon, and honey. Big in Japan was a Gold Rush variation with Hibiki Harmony, sudachi honey, lemon, sansho pepper, and yuzu bitters. There are better, more interesting cocktail bars all over L.A., but I'd recommend the Maybourne Bar if you're staying at the hotel or otherwise looking for an upscale bar in downtown Beverly Hills. You can get food, too, though most of it seems to involve caviar.

Wow, they hit this out of the park. The drink and food menu is fantastic in a wood covered binder. Naturally, we ordered the standard Mai Tai to start. The Lucky Tiki's take on the traditional 1944 Trader Vic Mai Tai is fantastic. We came to Matū for the Dinner for Two, and everything we were served was impeccable. The seasoning was spot on, the salt level was perfect, and every cut of meat was cooked beautifully. I'm a big fan of my steak on the rarer side, and Matū absolutely delivered. The braised beef cheek was probably the highlight of the night for me. It was unbelievably tender, rich, and one of the most memorable bites of the meal. After finishing the Dinner for Two, which really showcased the quality of the meat, we decided to split a cheesesteak since "that's what they're known for." When it arrived, it looked incredible. Unfortunately, that's where the excitement ended for me. The meat tasted oddly oily. I'm not sure if it was the cut, the preparation, or even the cheese, but it came across as heavy and greasy compared to the beautifully simple, clean flavors of the steak dinner. It was also underseasoned, and I found myself tasting the sesame seeds on the bread more than the filling itself. The chips were fresh and crunchy at first, but they lost their texture surprisingly quickly, so eat those immediately. Overall, I absolutely loved the steaks, sides, and cocktails, and I'll happily be back for those. But as for the cheesesteak? Once was more than enough.

Where do all the locals go? Well, the Bar Next Door is a great place! Nice, clean and…read morefriendly... Their craft cocktail menu is extensive, interesting and delicious. The restrooms are clean and cute Parking is slim to none! What do you expect? It's on the Sunset Strip. I can't speak to the food as we stopped in for a quick beverage before heading down the road for our dinner... But what they were serving to other patrons looked and smelled delicious. It's small. Grab a seat at the bar (which is really about it...) and start your journey to the craft cocktails with one of their friendly staff and bartenders. Be there or be square

The whole mythology of this place being a "neighborhood gem" is officially dead. Whatever charm it…read moreonce had has completely evaporated. What's left is a joyless little room with indifferent management and service that can feel actively hostile. It can get very crowded, but... The energy is just off. It no longer feels warm or welcoming, and the type of crowd it attracts now can make the cramped space feel actually menacing. The staff also becomes strangely abrasive and aloof. Especially the younger male bartender who works on Fridays. I would never go again. Even trying to order another drink somehow feels like you're inconveniencing them. It's genuinely sad how they've managed to ruin what used to be a good thing. There is absolutely no reason to put up with this place when you could go to Cecconi's, the Tower Bar, Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis, Jones Hollywood, Laurel Hardware, Ysabel, the Roger Room, On the Rox, or Mic's instead. The name a few! Any one of them will give you a better room, a better atmosphere, and a much better evening. TBH, I would rather endure the mechanical-bull chaos of Saddle Ranch than spend another night dealing with the bizarre vibe here. That alone should tell you everything. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
