If I could give this bar 10 stars, I would! My husband and I found this spot nestled in the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and decided the ambiance looked cute so we should give it a try. That said, the bartender made clear that if we wanted a typical cocktail (martini, vodka soda, old fashioned, etc.), he could certainly accommodate. We, of course, opted for the mixology option and the bartender (Thomas) asked us what liquors and flavor profiles we liked. My husband opted for gin or whisky with herby, citrusy, or fruity. I opted for vodka with spicy, herby, or fruity. We got 2 drinks each and enjoyed all of them! My favorite was a drink with sriracha that was fruity and spicy at the same time - like nothing I've ever had but I'm still dreaming of it! The drinks are understandably pricey (I think about $25 per drink) but compared to average tasting $15-20 drinks you can find elsewhere in LA, the slightly higher price was so worth it! The Library Bar experience was one of the best I've had in a long time! My Fiancé and I were in LA this last weekend celebrating our anniversary, and some friends recommended we check out The Hollywood Roosevelt. We found the Library Bar shortly after they had opened and ended up staying for over 2.5 hours! Michael, Anthony, and Luke were our bartenders for the night, and they truly made the experience what it was. We talked to them about the kinds of spirits and drinks we like, and everything they created for us was phenomenal. They even graciously walked us through other drinks they were making and talked to us about the process of creating the drinks they do. This past Saturday night (7/1/17) was my second time at the Library Bar. Located inside of the historic Roosevelt Hotel on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, this bar is tiny! For those that don't know, the Roosevelt Hotel first opened in 1927, and is the oldest continually operating hotel in all of LA. You can feel the history as you enter this place. Swing to the left once you hit the lobby after entering, and you should find it. The Library Bar is a perfect spot to bring a date for an intimate night with top notch cocktails. This place is not very practical for large groups, so don't plan on going with a big group of friends. It is very small with only a few tables. Come early if you want a table. If you're set on coming here with a larger group, you can hangout for a little inside, grab your cocktail/drinks from the bar after ordering, and take them outside to the lobby area where there is more space and seating. The lobby is also very nice and fancy. I think the Library Bar is good, but it really is just too small. Only one bartender and one waiter were working here, and it can take a LONG time to order and get your drink. Some of their drinks take a while to make too, since they use fresh ingredients. Definitely come with patience. Note that they do not have a cocktail menu anymore, so have an idea of what you want before coming. Everything is based on preference. They do have beer, so don't fret if cocktails aren't your thing. I got an IPA, priced around $8-9. Drinks here are pricey. They do have a food menu, though none of us ordered anything to eat. read more

If you're not sure, pick a spirt and your in taste or combinations of taste (sweet, spicy, sour, fruity). Cocktails are served over a huge block of ice that not only keeps the drink cold, doesn't water down the drink as does crushed ice or smaller pieces of ice. There's no dress code here but it's fancy so I'd come to impress though you'll find a hotel guest come in flip flops, shorts and a shirt. Like most hotel bars, drinks are a bit pricey here ($18/ea). Loved this place! Recommend by a fellow yelper and this was the only place I bookmarked before my trip. It's inside the Roosevelt hotel. When you walk in from the Hollywood Blvd, go left. This little bar is located by the corner, tacked away. They have small numbers of bar stools and handful chairs and one long couch. So tiny but it gives you intimate ambiance. I also liked the nice scent they had, either they were using aroma oil or could be from all the fresh ingredients they had on their bar counters. No menu, you just tell the bartender what you feel like and they will create to suit your feeling. The drink I had was strawberry cucumber mojito. Strawberry was so fresh, i enjoyed eating fresh strawberries. Fresh mint added nice scent and flavor to my drink. It was sweet but not too sweet, just enough and the fresh mint gave me refreshing feeling. Just what I needed. I really like they use fresh ingredients, makes drink taste so much better. The bartender gave everybody free champagne toast while we were waiting to get drinks, there was only two bartenders at the moment, it would take a while for them to take our orders. Hubby went up to the bar to get drinks for us, they don't have a cocktail menu, we just tell the bartenders our preference of flavors, liquor and tastes, the bartenders just create one upon the request, very interesting, and it's more fun this way! First drink for me was a spicy vodka drink, it was very refreshing with a nice kick of spiciness, fresh jalapeño, they only put this one big ice cube in the glass, it really helps to keep the drink cold and strong until we finish it. As for the second drink, I asked something ginger flavored with vodka, only a hint of sweetness. The bartender worked his magic again, it was a very nice drink, exactly what I wanted! And both drinks were so pretty, loved them! The bartender guy was extremely friendly and pleasant, he greeted me twice warmly and told me they were well known for their unique mixology! And I have experienced some, it was beautiful! Hubby asked for Vesper as usual, the bartender girl didn't know how to make it, the bartender guy took over, he made a very nice classic Vesper drink, great job! He tasted a bit off the straw before he handed over our drinks, to make sure they were good enough I guess, very professional mixologist! Both bartenders were so friendly, the waitress came in a bit later, she started to walk around and take orders, before that, customers just went up to the bar to get drinks. They cleaned tables so fast, made sure ppl were comfortable enough to sit and sip on tasty drinks, and enjoy the good bar and lounge times.
