I arrived an hour early for my cut. I asked where the closest atm was. I went down and withdrew the funds and came back 15mins before my appointment. I was called to get my cut on time, but I asked to use the bathroom to pee before sitting down. Whilst in the bathroom, I heard the barber converse with the next client, who arrived significantly after me. The client stated that he thought he had a 1pm appointment, but actually had a 1:30pm appointment and was in a hurry because he had a doctor's appointment. When I came out of the bathroom, the barber was beginning to cut the next guy's hair. I was in the bathroom for about 2mins. Absolutely amateur hour scheduling practices! I was told that I'd have to wait, or reschedule. Totally unacceptable. I was there first, and spent my whole day planning around this. Cuts look good, but their scheduling practices are gonna put them out of business. What a total waste of time

I have been to a lot of places in Spokane to get my hair cut and this hands down was the best experience. I am a quintessential Gen X guy who doesn't know anything about hair care just that I want to be taken care of and look good at the end. Dougie really hooked it up. I showed him a picture and he looked at my hair and we discussed a few things and he worked some magic. The upgraded beard experience was exceptional and was worth every penny, especially the hot towel massage which almost put me to sleep. The shop is a small establishment but comfortable with some classic rock playing in the background and a TV on if you want to watch something while being cut. Dougie is a colorful character but you can tell right away that it's not an act, he really cares that you look good and feel good when you leave his shop and honestly he made me feel like a million bucks. I really debated hard on writing this review because he is a treasure I want to keep to myself but that would be selfish and honestly Spokane if you want to be treated like royalty and not feel like you're being played go see the good people at Generations! Our appointment was at 0900 and we walked through the door at 0910. There were three stylists sitting around and one man in a chair getting his hair cut. Yes we were a bit late but, I have a one year old. The short-haired woman at the front desk, I believe her name was Johnah, told us we were more than 10 minutes late and would have to reschedule. I looked at my phone and it said 0911. I was so shocked at her attitude I had no idea what to say. The place was EMPTY and people were sitting around but she said we have people lined up back to back. You couldn't cut a 1 year old's hair in a couple minutes? I left but then called and asked who the owner/manager was and the same person was evasive, ultimately admitting she was the one that told us to reschedule because we're one minute past the cutoff and that the owner's information was online, which it wasn't. When I asked her for her name, she hung up. I called back literally 2 seconds later and another stylist picked up named Tara. I asked if she was the one I was just speaking to and she said no. I asked for the other's name and she said she wasn't sure because she was in the back. A blatant lie. This was supposed to be my sons first haircut and they ruined that experience with their poor attitude and customer service. WHO TURNS AWAY A ONE YEAR OLD FOR THEIR FIRST HAIRCUT BECAUSE THEY ARE ONE MINUTE PAST THE 10 MINUTE CUTOFF? My sister is a hair stylist and she would never do that. It's bad business. Especially when the place is empty! I hope the owner contacts me because that woman should not have a job in customer service! Maybe this woman was scared to do a child's hair, maybe she didn't have the skills, maybe she had a bad day, or maybe she is just a witch. There is no excuse. I hope people read this and they lose business because of it. COMPLETELY unacceptable.
