Long story short, RUN!!!!! I use to come here often until one day a nail tech thought she was going to throw a nail file across the table at me because she did not know how to properly shape my nails. She tossed the nail file and told me to do it. Needless to say I kept my composure because orange is not the new black for me. However, that was my last day and I never went back. I have been getting my nails and toenails done for many years, and I have seen how some of these establishments mistreat customers, and it's just flat out wrong! I DO NOT spend my hard earned money where I am not made to feel welcome. STOP going to places that do not demonstrate common courtesy and respect. Their businesses would not thrive without customers. Stopped by a rainy Sunday morning. Was able to sit down as a walk-in. They do also take appointments. My pedicure took about 20 minutes. The water spout wasn't working so the water shot up on my face/shirt as soon as I put my feet in. I feel like this pedicure was missing a lot of things (cuticle push back and cleaning, warm towel at the end, my heels didn't get much attention etc.) I opt'd out of an eyebrow clean because My brows still look okay (done at a different salon) Standard Gel Fill. Although I didn't get a hand rub down at the end. Took about 45 minutes. I will search around for a good nail salon in this area but would only come here if I need a quick fix. - Gel Fill $35 - Eyebrows $10 - Regular Pedicure / polish $30 read more

Okay, I really tried to give this place a try. It's the worst! I literally just got over charged! A mani and pedi on the price list shows it's 35$. I paid $60 today, $10 to take off the dip that they had done for me previously. Wow. Ok. So that is $45. The extra $5 came from callous remover. I don't have callous and this lady literally put it on and cleaned it off. So the extra $10? Did y'all think I wasn't going to tip? I'll never be back. The service is hit or miss. This place is decent but only for a very particular need and services is not consistent across manicurist. This is not the shop for best practices. This means that they don't use all of the super sanitation stuff that many other shops now use (individual cutting tools, plastic wrap in foot baths). Also they has maybe 20 opi products which is also pretty standard to me among the better shops. Service is spotty. My bestie and I stopped here to get pedicures and nails done for a special event. I noticed my manicurist was very attentive and listened/understood well but hers did not. She had two reds she brought up, when she told the manicurist to use the darker one, she didn't understand and put the incorrect one on there. My manicurist was not only conversational but understood when I changed my mind about what nail color I wanted on my toes and then made some suggestions for coordinating nails and the party nail design. That being said my manicurist was also a little rough and probably ADHD so, there you go. The particular thing that they appear to excel at is quick quick service we were out of there in 60 minutes although my friend received acrylics. Let me start by saying I rated them high because of Helen!!! I started going to Cute Nails when they opened years ago. I was going to a tech named Helen. Helen had a huge clientele however I never cared for the wait. I moved away from Hyattsville some years ago, but fast forward to the present I'm back and started going back to Cute Nail. The wait now is freaking ridiculous and Helen is no longer working there ;( I believe if they allowed you to make appts things would run alot smoother. They really aren't the cleanest to be honest. I believe the wait sometimes is crazy, I've waited for over an hour before, even though when I walked in the door they said it'd only be 15 minutes. I moved on. So today is December 12 2017. I had my nails done by Lilly. Every single nail is crooked and they are all different sizes. I showed her my nails and how they were uneven. She tried to fix them but didn't do a good job at all. I have long nails and I have short nails now. Then I asked her if she could make my ends a little rounder because they were so sharp I could cut my own skin. I then asked for a simple nail design that is a plaid design. She gave me checkers. I am so dissatisfied with this place. I will never go back. Not one time did they offer to refund me or re do my nails. This place was awful, awful. I don't remember the name of my nail technician, but I am not sure it matters because I think they are all the same First, I had to wait much longer than they told me. They said 15-20 minutes and I was seen over an hour later. They put in the pedicure chair 20-30 minutes after I arrived, but then I sat in the pedicure chair while no one came for 30 minutes. This might not have been all that bad - I mean who doesn't like relaxing in a pedicure chair, but I didn't have an hour to waste! The during my manicure/pedicure my technician kept getting up and doing other things. She did a wax or two in between my manicure. Excuse me? The worst part, however was after I left. I noticed when I left that actually a few of my nails had pretty rough edges and were not shaped very nicely at all. Ok, I tried to get past it. Then my Gel nail polish started to lift and peal off 1 day later. 1 day! Gel polishes are suppose to last close to 2 weeks! And finally, the very last straw is that my foot started bothering me a few days after the manicure. I was in so much pain, I finally went to to the doctor about 5 days after the pedicure where I had developed an infection under my toe nail! My podiatrist said it was from the pedicure. Gross! Trust me, although the prices are reasonable, the long wait, the sub-par service, the sub-par quality of work, and the problems that came after are not worth this place. This place is gross--literally gross. The walls are dirty and stained; the nail tech's clothes are dirty; there are paper towels taped to everything. Unfortunately it's the closest nail shop to my apartment so I gave a try for a quick gel polish change. The woman (the owner) charged me an extra $3 to file my nails (I get this service a lot and that's normally not extra), and lied about how long they'd take to dry so she could wax someone's eyebrows in between. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! Customer Service: Very friendly - Lynn was the one who serviced my mani-pedi. She was very polite and friendly. She did not hurt me and gave me exactly what I wanted. The salon itself: Very old and ran down feel. Nothing is new from the spa chairs to the tool cart, wall paper old fashion. Can we say Cluster phuck!! This place was not clean but very dirty looking. Nats flies flying around as you are being serviced. I'm not sure if they sanitize here. Does not look like it - very brought out tools from a sanitized location. From what I notice they did not clean the foot soaking tubs right after each client. Instead the nasty foot water sat there until the next person then thy just did a quick wipe down clean- EWWWW OMG If I had known this I would have not came here. How is this place in business??? I would give zero stars if I could. Nikki is really MEAN! I had to get a fill-in and she ripped of the top nails. It hurt so much and I told her to stop, and she just ignored me until I moved my hand away. Then she said "you're being too sensitive" I've been to other salons and never had this issue. She was rude and would get irritated whenever I tried to tell her what design I wanted. The place is really dirty too. They don't wash the equipment between clients and barely scrub the tub between pedicures. And they are over priced! $40 for a simple gel fill-in! I have been to a lot of nail salons and I have never been disturbed by the level of cleanliness like i was when I went to Cute Nails today. They make no attempt to clean the utensils that they use by soaking them in disinfectant before use. I also found the customer service to be lacking. I dropped my nail polish on the ground next to the pedicure chair (because they had me hold onto my colors and I forgot I has set them down) and the technician got very annoyed with me and had an attitude about having to pick it up. It's not like it was even broken. The only reason I gave this place a 2 rather than a 1 is that it is actually reasonably priced. I got a mani/pedi for $30... but probably at the sacrifice of more than a few health code violations. Also, beware the extra add-ons. They wanted to charge me $5 extra to use the callus remover on my feet. I declined and got a clearly used and not washed pummus stone removal. read more

Stardate: Sept 11th, 2011. My mission: simple manicure. After a wait that was a skosh longer than I wanted to wait (in fact, I almost crossed my name off the sign in sheet and left, I was told "its just 2 more minutes" so I stayed), I had a really good manicure. Lina soaked one hand in warm, fragrant, soapy water while she filed the other. She snipped and soaked and pushed and soaked and massaged and voila! 35 minutes later, I had ten really beautiful nails. Why only 3 stars? Wellllll...it looked a little dirty but Lina was meticulous with cleaning her equipment. The other patrons were kind of loud. Like I said, the wait was a skosh longer than ten mina. And today, the day I write this review, it is September 17th, and I still have a huge black scab on my right ring finger from where Lina cut my cuticle too short, the finger bled profusely for minutes, and its just now scabbing. Ugh. :-( Would I return? Sure, I'd come back to Lina for another manicure and try a pedicure especially since I've seen the "callous away" offered for $5! Cute Nails live up to their name! The pedicures have always been fine -- what's not to like about a pedicure? -- and the place is convenient and has always taken me fairly quickly, once even just before closing on a Sunday. I got a beautiful pedicure done with artificial nail extension. I ended up having a fungus. Never had one before and I do not have any chronic health issue otherwise. So I am 100% sure I got the fungus on my two figures from the Salon. Very disappointed. read more

I waited 90 minutes for a 20 minute rushed through pedicure. The tech was aggressive and unfriendly. The nail tech filed my pinkie so much that she put a whole in my nail and cause it to bleed. I asked for almond nails...she started giving me oval nails so I ended up with awful square nails. I paid $40 for a short square full set with gel polish. This salon could really set the standard in this area because they do have a few skilled nail technicians like Nancy and Nikki however: Their equipment is used from one customer to the next, I went off and on for years until I saw fungus on my nail when taking off and acrylic set. Those files, buffers, and scrubbers are used on toes and hands and on nails that I've seen with yellow(or early fungus), green and brown(old fungus) discoloration without any sterilization process in between. They also speak negatively about customers nails, body's, makeup, weave, body odor, lack of tipping and etc. The body waxing service is reasonably priced and convenient and they generally have plenty of technicians available. With slight changes they could really control the market in this area. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would. I went for a gel manicure on Monday, April 11th and I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. I showed up around 1:30 pm and asked if I could get a gel manicure. I was trying to save some time instead of going to my regular nail salon and this place was close to my next appointment. When I came in there were 3-4 people getting services and 3 employees who were available. I started with one person, was shuffled to another person, and finally ended up with the tech who would do my nails. My first issue was that the tech did not introduce herself to me. My second issue was that the tech was on her phone THE WHOLE TIME! She started watching YouTube while my nails were soaking and then called her boyfriend and spoke to him for the duration of my service. She was speaking in Spanish so I couldn't even get some good eavesdropping in. The straw that broke the camel's back was when she finished my nails. They looked horrible. The polish was wavy and bubbling. She then told me that she was going to have to start over again. EXCUSE ME? I was livid. I had another appointment soon after and I didn't have time to wait. She then got the manager who asked if I could come back. I refused. Perhaps if the tech had paid attention to her work, she wouldn't have jacked up my manicure. I left and made an appointment with my regular nail tech and she will be fixing this atrocity next week. I have had this gel manicure for 4 days and it has already chipped in 3 places after not really doing much (I was on travel so I wasn't doing dishes or anything like that.) I've been here a few times before - it's not the best but you get what you pay for. Today I went in around midday and a few of the nail techs were sitting around not working. Instead of one of them doing my manicure while the other was dealing with the pedicure - which would have provided me, the customer, with a better experience of being serviced attentively and efficiently - they chose to sit around and do nothing. This would have been fine if it hadn't taken almost an hour and a half for one person to do a simple mani-pedi, time that did not include my nails drying. I was in such a rush to get back to work that I completely ruined my manicure, and thus wasted both time and money. Once I got back to work (late) I decided to call the manager Vickie, and suggest that she make it a common practice to keep her nail techs working so as to create an optimal experience for the customer. She was obviously not listening at the beginning of the call, so I had to repeat my suggestion two more times. Then she proceeds to make it seem like it's my fault, that expecting to get in and out in an hour during a non-busy period was not realistic. Clearly Vickie failed to realize the importance of customer service, especially considering there are at least three other nail salons within a two block radius. read more

Arrived around 2pm on Sat. 11/22. Was seen right away. I requested a gel fill. The tech was wonderfull, however I didnt like the fact that everyone that walked in she had to ask what they needed and directed them where to be seated. I realized that she was the manager and that had it plus and minus. The plus was she had expertise to be manager, the minus was it took her attention aways from doing a 150% job on my nails.
