I've been going to V nails for YEARS, over 10 years. Vicki (the owner) and her husband are always very pleasant and remember my name and greet me with it each time I enter. I think it's because I was one of their first clients when their nail salon open. The decor is classy and chic bc the owners present that way as well. The quality of the service is also good! My only gripe is the prices. They are pretty and high, and bit more than their competitors, and I would understand that if we were served refreshments, wine, and snacks like another location I frequent for my pedicures ONLY! Additionally, I wish they had other options for paying for the service besides cash and the credit card that involves a 3.5% service charge. I paid $65 with no wine or snacks for this basic fill-in with French Manicure. Plus, the particular technician I went to today was very slow, meticulous, so I appreciated that, but very slow. FYI- there is a $10 charge for each buff service. It would have been nice to know that before she swiped my card. When I mentioned the additional charge not being on anything, another employee said, the tech was suppose to communicate that. Well it's obvious she didn't communicate it then proceeded to say, "I don't know who knows" but here I am being charged an extra $20. Plenty of people had appointments for Billy, Lynn and Vicky. Linda did my nails and toes. She was nice, calm and not talkative (which I like). My nails and toes looked nice when I left the salon but within 3 days, the paint on my toes chipped. My nails chipped within 5 days. I had a gel manicure on my fingers, regular polish on my toes. I love coming here to get my nails and eyebrows done! I recently moved to College Park, and my experience here has been great. I particularly come in for an acrylic gel manicure, pedicure, and my eyebrows cleaned up, and I am incredibly satisfied with the results. Now, their services are overpriced. I came here to get my nails and toes done here last week, July 24, to be exact. The person who did my nails was Linda. Although, she was very nice my acrylic set didn't even last 2 weeks before one nail popped off and others lifting. She also cut my skin while cutting my cuticle. She was very apologetic during the service and I still gave a her $20 tip. the set was nice and she took her time. I come back today, August 2, to fix the one nail that popped off and another nail that is practically on its last string. I was told I would have to pay to get them fix because they only allow a couple days before they charge you. I won't be coming here again, it's not worth the money you pay. So, it's Thursday and almost the weekend, I decide I want to get my nails and feet done since I haven't in a while since having my baby. I walk-in and it's busy but not too chaotic, I am seated right away. Nancy comes to do my pedicure and everything is going fine and a bee is in the shop because the doors are wide open. I do not like insects, especially stinging ones. I tried to inform her there was a bee and I don't think she understood. The bee gets close to me and I move, she nicks me. She was very nonchalant after I was nicked and I'm sitting up here questioning her about the method she would use to stop the bleeding. She doesn't speak English well ‍ and takes FOREVER to control the bleeding. On to the nails...I had to ask her multiple times for a clean bowl. She literally picked up the bowl the client next to me used to soak her nails, rinsed it out & put it in front of me. There was debris in the bowl, hence me asking her multiple times. I went for a removal of gel polish/acrylic nails and instead of soaking in foil with acetone (the correct method), he used tools to shave down then forcefully pull and scrap off. DISAPPOINTED. I came by to this V nail salon 10 days ago for a manicure deep powder which is $45. It only lasted 7 days it all broke and chipped. I called today day 10 to ask if they could be fixed, they told me yes to come in. As soon as I came in I guess the manager or owner asked me to tell her who did my nails I said I wasn't sure which lady did it. She told me I have to know so that that person can fix it. I said what if the person I point is not her than that's not fair also is not fair to put the customer in that position in front of all the people. Well I showed my receipt and she sent someone to fix it. I guess the lady trying to rush me out a lot of chemical to loosen the powder it made me cough and dried my skin within 3 minutes. While other staff was sitting on their phones and headphones I asked if it could be washed but they only started at me. Once the lady working in my nails returned she offered gel because she said that my nails are to thin when I know I don't have problems with my nails AT ALL. I said you know I don't want to loose because I paid the price for Deep powder and Gel cost less then she said I'll have to pay. I SAID NO THIS IS NOT FAIR. But I never go back to places when a bad job is done but this is my second time so I decided to do something about it. I have been coming here for a year now to get the SNS dipping powder and I love it! Everyone is so nice and friendly here. My nail tech is Ty; he is really good and precise. All I do sometimes is come with an idea and he hooks me up with awesome nails! I always get compliments when I leave here. His wife Vicky is really good too. I watch how she does her clients' nails and they always come out pretty. She also does designs nicely. I have recently gottenmy pedi done by Carrie and she was great as well. The nail shop itself is very clean and I love the decor. The only thing is, it gets pretty crowded so if you are a walk in you may be waiting for a little while. This business has done an amazing job of implementing the CDC requirements for safety during COVID. This was my first trip to the nail salon this year, so I was very skeptical and cautious about attempting a visit. However, this trip was seamless and I felt completely at ease. The protocols were similar to those used in health care facilities to include temperature checks, station wipe downs, sanitizing between clients, and plexiglass dividers separating clients in both the pedicure area and the manicure stations. I went on a Tuesday evening, with my sister. I made an appointment, but still had to wait about 10 minutes. No biggie. But I do recommend that you make an appointment earlier in the day. I got powder ($40) and my sister got gel ($30). I do not know the name of my technician, but her station was in the second row right side. She was okay - she rushed and was not very detail oriented. Ty is the BEST! I've been going to V Nails for a few months now and haven't been disappointed with his work. I always get their dipping powder and highly suggest it over acrylic or basic gel because it last longer and better for your nails. The staff is extremely friendly and the salon is big. Had only one experience at this nail salon and it was just Soso. I give it two stars because it wasn't the cleanest place. I went here because my regular nail girl was unavailable on a particular week and I ended up being talked into a dip manicure going in for a gel manicure. I just didn't feel that this place was as precise or as careful as my usual nail girl, not holding my hands up to each other to make sure my nails are the same length, etc. I ended up with colors that I didn't really love and felt like I had to pick colors really quickly, and I didn't feel that the application was particularly great. Hey Bees, So I first off want to admit I am horribly picky when it comes to getting my nails done. I think when you pay $30-$50 for someone to do your nails they should look nice at the end. I've had some awful luck with acrylics, and a few years ago I finally found a place that did awesome work. They did really thin and even acrylics with a gel french manicure on top and then would keep thining down the acyrlics until my natural nails grew out while maintaining the gel manicure. Unfortunately I moved, and haven't found a new place. Today I went to a place my friend recommended, and I had heard great things from others. I got acrylics because my natural nails are really long and I wanted to treat myself. The man who did them did a horrible job. They are not all the same length, a bunch of them are crooked, and some corners are square, while some are way too rounded. PLUS they are SUPER thick, and he left a bunch of acrylic gunk under a few nails. It was my first time trying this nail salon. I read a lot of the yelp reviews and I thought I'd give it a shot since it was nearby and highly rated over the years. The parking was easy. No time limit and in a small plaza. I went during the week around 2 pm and the lot was getting crowded. Might be hard to find parking on the weekend. I walked in and like expected from the multiple yelp pictures the establishment seemed up to date. Television, lots of pedicure chairs with massagers and rows of tables for manicures. When I arrived a gentleman greeted me and went over the price list. Their prices are EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! I didn't feel like driving around to another salon so I just sucked it up. I got a gel french manicure and a regular pedicure. I paid $65 + $5 Tip = $70 (A BIT TO MUCH). The chairs were comfortable but I felt like the technician was a little too rough with my feet. In addition, she didn't speak much English. The communication barrier was a bit awkward. Every time she spoke it was hard to understand especially with a mask over her face. When she told me the price I could have sworn she said $55 and then at the end (once she took the mask off) she said $65. Will I be going back most likely not! I feel like there are shops with the same quality for cheaper prices. In addition, I felt like the utensils that they used are not sterilized enough. Therefore, I gave this nail salon a 3/5 rating. First time at this salon, had to find a new nail place after moving from New York to MD. I have an event this weekend so figured I would try it out. I was greeted upon entering and the energy in the salon felt very welcoming and relaxing at the same time. I enjoyed the volume of the music and ambiance, no one was on their phone and tones were kept to a level that would not disturb you if you just had "one of those days". The salon looks very well kept and has that "fancy" feel when you want to pamper yourself. I haven't had anything done in a few months so I opted to try something new, SNS-Dip for my manicure and a Sugar scrub pedicure. I have to admit I miss the massages from the pedicures from New York, even without a spa pedicure they felt a little longer and firmer but that is all preference and nail technician. My massage was not bad just a bit shorter and softer than I am used to. I loved that the dip nail technique did not require going under light, there is some chemical smell but I feel like it is bearable and passes quickly. I am rating my experience a 4/5 also because the price point was a bit higher than I am used to, the massage felt a little short and soft, I miss New York's practice of also a shoulder massage when you have finished services. However I would still return, wish they had a customer point system for returners. This may be a once a month sort of treat unless I opt for a regular manicure but I will see if the length of the dip polish and make a final decision if the price point is worthy for another go ! read more

I've been going here for almost two years now ever since a nail tech at a salon near my house botched my nails and my friend recommended I try here. Tai was the one who fixed that botched job, and I've been faithfully going to him ever since. He does such a meticulous job, he takes his time, and I've never had an issue with him being rough with my manicures or pedicures. He's super friendly and he listens to what I want. He's also super patient when I don't know what color I want, and accommodates my particular-ness when it comes to my nails. Overall, he does a spectacular job. The shop, itself is very clean and aesthetically pleasing. And its location is very convenient. Parking can be annoying on busier days due to the other shops in the area, but if you make an appointment just make sure you give yourself enough time to find a spot (sometimes people even park on the side road next to the shop). Overall, everyone at the shop is very friendly, and they know you by name (Vicky is always saying "Hi" and I appreciate that). I'm always recommending this place to my friends, family and coworkers. I haven't done acrylic in years, I have been doing the dip powder but I went back to acrylic when I came here because the colors were so nice and pretty. They also do dip powder. My only issues was their customer service. My nail tech was rude because I wanted to confirm the price with what the First Lady told me. Warning, This is LONG! TL;DR: It was ok, a bit overpriced, but I'd probably go back knowing what I know now about their pricing. Went to V Nail Spa on Tuesday. There were two other people having services performed. First, it should be notated they don't have a menu posted to view the prices of services. There were no brochures on the receptionist desk when I got there (there were when I left, through--but only two). I needed a fill in (I have acrylic nails with a gel overlay). I explained what I needed and was directed to the second row of tables. I sat down and waited for 10 minutes while the four ladies that were not in the middle of nail services were occupied with one customer in the back. When my tech came to the desk, she began my fill in. I was informed that at V Nail Spa, it's acrylic with gel polish. I was not given a price for the service. I have no serious complaints about the service I received, though Nancy (my tech) was a little over zealous and rough with the dremel (the pinky finger on my right hand had the cuticle ripped off, but that does happen). I had initially picked out a pale pink OPI polish for my nails, which they tried to match with a gel--which it seemed they did successfully until the nails were cured at which point they were hot pink. I requested a different colour but was talked out of it. Fine. No big deal, I can live with hyper pink nails for two weeks until my next service. The Good: My nails look 100 times better than they did when I walked in. The salon I normally go to closed down with no notice, so I wound up heading to a no-service place in college park where they butchered my nails when I had them done a few weeks ago. Nancy had a lot of work to do on my hands, and she did a good job considering the things I am about to point out below. The salon is clean, well decorated, and very quiet. Most of the techs were very polite and the services they received seemed to be well done--I caught a look at some of the other hands in there and they were fab. Issues: Point One: Again, my tech was a bit rough. This may have been because she was being entirely distracted by one of the other techs, who was talking loudly and showing everyone pictures on her phone. While Nancy was using a dremel. On my hands. I'm sorry, but dremels and distractions just DO NOT mix. The result of the cell phone handling tech follows: one of my nails is an entirely different shape, I lost a cuticle, and my french manicure is slightly sloppy. Point Two: Constant attempts to upsell. I was asked if I wanted a pedicure no fewer than 10 times. I kept explaining that no, Just the fill in was fine. Then they tried to sell me on eyebrow tinting. Another polite no from me. Would I like my eyebrows waxed? Another polite no. Any complaint I had about the service I was receiving was brushed aside and then they'd try to sell me something else. Not exactly a good move. Point Three: Nail art. This I agreed to. Who can resist a cute floral design on the ring fingers in spring? I should not have agreed to nail art. I was not asked what I wanted. She just did a slapdash black/green/pink floral spray. The pink hardly shows and blends in to the (unintentional)hyper pink. Point Four: The total for my services was $48. I had asked a few times how much it would cost, but then the loud cell phone tech would come over and start talking to my tech again. Rude. I wasn't given a price until all was said and done. I was a little taken aback by this as a gel fill is generally somewhere between $20-$30 dollars. Considering I didn't receive a manicure or a breath taking french tip, I think it was all a bit over priced. read more

I'm glad that I tried out this salon. I made an appointment to have Helen do my nails. It did appear that most of the people in the shop did a good job from what I observed. The shop overall was clean, sanitary and modern. I was glad to see they keep their tools sanitized. I plan to go back and get a pedicure, which seemed reasonably priced for add-on features such as exfoliation. I need to wait to see how my nails hold up while I'm on vacation to determine if they get a 5 star rating. read more

I've been here a lot! I think the owner cares about her business and it shows. The decor and cleanliness is admirable. Complimentary water is typically offered (sometimes they forget). I've seen Kim. She's consistent and gentle. She will talk to you and will tell you about her children :-) sometimes she's not as detailed as others I've seen, but does a good job nonetheless. I've seen Lynn. No complaints. She has a great sense of humor and is very relatable. She gets the job done without cutting you or being too rough. I've seen Nancy the most. Nancy is heavy handed. She's detailed, but you are the most likely to be nicked or snipped by Nancy. She gets every thing she sees and sometimes that means too much sanding, scrapping or digging in your nail bed. Careful, she means well. Also, Nancy will ask if you want extras. Never think these extras are free i.e. Gel/jelly in the pedicure bath. Always ask if it's an additional cost. I remember telling Nancy I didn't want my upper lip waxed, she said 'you need, I do it anyway at no charge.' Again, she means well, don't take it personal. Overall, I drive here (30 minutes out of my way) because I know what to expect. My nails have never been bumpy, lumpy or and they look natural. I'll continue to patronize. P.S. They offer eyebrow tinting. It's a semi-permanent henna shaping of your brows. The first day, it takes much getting used to. It's dark! The man who did my nails took no care in what he was doing! Missed sides of my nails, shaped uneven. When I politely pointed out mistakes he told me I was too picky! I actually am going home to soak them off. I ended up leaving before he put the top coat because he was clearly annoyed when I asked for corrections. The mocha color on the walls and the crystal accents pieces were perfectly put together. I went to get a mani/pedi (1030am) and had no wait. I was greeted with a smile and enthusiasm. My issue is that the price if $20 is absolutely ridiculous. That would buy me two whole bottles of polish and they barely use a tablespoon of the Polish to paint the toes. Second issue is I had gel put on the tip of my one toe and again I was charged $5 for that. Other salons that I've gone to do not charge for that they just include that with the service. I use to go regularly but after a while I noticed that I had broken nails within a week of getting them done ( and I do not do anything that would cause them to break randomly and this happened to my daughter as well so we assumed they must be using cheaper product or not enough. This is a problem because this should not happen often. I've decided to use another salon because once a business like theirs has lots of business they care less about the quality and more about the price gouging and taking advantage of the customers.
