    Acrylic Nail

This place should be ashamed of themselves, frankly. They had come very highly recommended when it comes to acrylic application and I have spent thousands of dollars over the last year going there with two different techs. Over the last month or so I've had several instances (over 5-6 times) where my acrylic manicure has chipped - I was gracious and always made appointments to repair them and I always tipped the girl fixing it even though they never charged me for the repair (it is their time after all.) After spending over $100 on my recent acrylic fill which included a basic color and chrome, they chipped after five days and they were not able to offer me any kind of refund. I am typically not picky and I am typically patient and understanding but it is insane how many times I've gone back for repairs (paying for Ubers to get there) when they should have lasted at least two weeks.. The initial application wasn't done well either - spillage over the cuticle (pictured) which definitely warranted a refund regardless of the pre mature chipping. I won't be back - save your money. They are charging top dollar and not honoring their good customers.

The service, sanitary standards, and work just don't match the price tag at alllllll $85 for acrylics I don't even mind but the person I worked with did not even clean my cuticles, and my nails are literally chipping / lifting up after not even two days. It's just sloppy & was kind of gross seeing how things are reused. Mix that with listening to the girls in the front complain about how they need to find new jobs it's not a really a relaxing experience

For the amount they charge and the "add ons" they charge, I'm surprised they don't charge to use the bathroom!! How is a cutdown on a fill an extra charge?!? That's part of a nail service. A fill turned into $100!? What do they expect when someone gets a fill? To just let the nails keep growing and not shape up. The nails came out decent but no matter how many times I asked for the C curve to be thinner or even even it was a waste. My gel toes are atrocious. For $60 this looks like I did them myself. Gel on my SKIN and not even applied evenly. Make sure you don't get TONY for a pedicure.

Mild allergic reaction. Was prepared with benadryl and steroids so it could be worse, but is still happening nonetheless.

I'm having a hard time with Cuteticles. I really want to love going here because i adore their pedicures, but I've run into issues with allergies and pushback the last two times i've been. I've recently developed an allergy to gel polish so I have been trying to do exclusively dip powder. The two times I've been in for dip I've received pushback on using only dip powder without a gel topcoat. The first tech eventually obliged and only used dip. I had to come back for some repairs as the topcoat was lifting after about 2 days and the tech doing the repairs insisted to use gel. I told her about my allergy and she *promised* I would be fine and the gel is a better/longer lasting topcoat (I'm aware of this, but again..allergic reactions are something I'd like to avoid), and again gel was insisted. I'm currently breaking out in a reaction due to the gel used during my repair. All of my fingers are puffy, red and itchy around my cuticeles and i'm starting to develop small blisters on my fingertips. Really bummed about my experience with their manis and it's going to take 5-7 days for my hands to recover with topical steroids. If you have gel allergies, I'd avoid this salon.

Dip powder with extensions, deep French curve, and ombré. Total after tax was $114.

I'm in love with my nails! The techs here are definitely well trained and know what they are doing. Dropped a star for wait time, less than amazing customer service, and sub par cleanliness, but it could have just been a busy time. Other than that, everything was awesome! My nail tech was Melissa and she did an excellent job making sure I liked the shape and design. She paid close attention to details and listened to what I asked for. She did my dip powder nails very well and made it so they aren't too thick and look natural which I love. I got exactly what I asked for and walked away very happy. Thank you!!

4.5 Gotten acrylic nails done twice here so far. Once with Erick & once with Mary (I believe). Erick did a REMARKABLE job & it blew me away. The pink nails faded and got dull after 2 weeks and the edges got rough (which didn't happen with the blue set of nails). Granted I know they're a plain set, but still. Honestly, still love this place and happy they've got a rewards system. Would come back for acrylics again & to try a pedicure!

Dip powder marble nails by Rosa

This was my first time here. Everyone was very sweet and the price was pretty reasonable. I got dip powder with extensions for 87$ including tax and tip. I had Rosa- she used gel on top of powder to create this marble effect. It took about 1 hr 30 mins. I would definitely recommend and will for sure be going back here!

First time to experience this kind of shitty service! The rest of my nails looks horrific! ZERO rating!!!
    Melissa Y.

I am very disappointed with their services! It's my first time here & quite frankly I had to pay $30 for a manicure gel for almost 2 hours!! They even asked me to change the color that I wanted and RE-DO Everything which was a total HASSLE!! I do not recommend this place, I told the front desk that I was not happy with their service & all she had to say was " You are good to go" I mean really?! Poor CUSTOMER SERVICE as well! This is a FUC**** nightmare!!! NEVER AGAIN!! If you want your nails murdered this is the Place to BE!!

I called the morning of my appointment and they were about to fit me in to their schedule, but they have 15+ nail techs so I'm assuming walk-ins would not be too hard. My nail tech did a good job at trim/cutting my nails to my preferred length, even though she didn't really speak much English. I got the basic gel manicure and thought the lady was not very gentle.

2 week old manicure from my favorite place in Manhattan
    Jannakie J.

I recently moved to the neighborhood and I wanted to see what all the hype was about. I wanted a simple gel manicure- how difficult can that be? The salon looked clean and there was a woman cleaning the high touch areas which was nice. They do not enforce mask wearing as a customer was eating breakfast while other customer were around. This salon has poor customer service. A woman by the name of Abbey did my manicure. She wanted to buff my nails with an electrical buffer which is excessive and can damage your nail bed and I refused. She added multiple layers the gel nail polish which created a thick gel finish and is already lifting and the polish is lumpy with tiny air bubbles. Quality gel polish only requires two coats. She took a very long time to cut my cuticles and they look dry and terrible. This was a complete waste of $30. For ladies who prefer a simple gel manicure or manicure go elsewhere. Maybe they only specialize to acrylic.... After getting a proper manicure I feel so relaxed, there was nothing relaxing about this experience. I attached a photo of the manicure I received today at cuteicles vs a 2 week old gel French manicure from my favorite nail salon in Manhattan.

    Janella I.

Went in for acrylic gel refill and this is what I got. Instead of it being filled closer to the cuticles it looks like it's 1-2 weeks post refill. For the amount of money you pay here, you would think it would be done better. Also why is the staff so unfriendly.

See the cut at top of my toe, sliced quite deep though can't see very clearly in the pic
    Ipsita D.

Well I've gone to Cuteticles a bunch of times both here & across the street though I usually try to go to NYC since places there do a better job. But the weather was cruddy today and I thought let me go nearby instead; however the quality of this place has gone downhill if today's horrible experience is anything to go by. The place looks like it got upgraded in some aspects--the massage chairs for the pedicures look new. The place has a very strong chemical smell though so I'm glad I was wearing a mask, and the music wasn't soothing at all. I'd booked a classic mani & spa pedi since I'm going to a holiday party and almost right away it went wrong--the technician used the clipper and accidentally cut into my toe itself instead of the nail! I don't even know how you'd make a mistake like that. I yelped loudly because it hurt quite a lot and of course it started bleeding. She apologized and dabbed at it with a cotton pad but it kept bleeding and I was surprised she was just going to continue without doing anything else--I had to ask her if she had any antiseptic and only then she brought something liquid that said it was to help sanitize & stop bleeding on cuts and applied it. I had her apply it a couple times and later put on an antibacterial cream. They say they sanitize their tools but that could mean anything. Just putting tools in a UV box overnight doesn't do anything, you have to autoclave & keep continuously under the UV. I don't know what they do here. Thank goodness I had a tetanus shot within the last 10 years. Anyways the rest of the time was of course not relaxing since I was just worrying. Also after all that it wasn't a good job--very messy, the polish as you can see in the pics all over the place. When I went to pay the receptionist didn't even ask how everything was--I'm sure she knew and didn't want to bring it up (she didn't dare mention a tip). Did not bother to offer to comp or discount anything despite the injury they caused. Not to mention they charged an add-on fee without even telling me or what it was for, I just saw on the receipt--I assume it was for taking my previous nail polish off but no one told me beforehand at all about a fee or the amount. I don't like to make a scene and at that point I just wanted to leave and go home. I usually tip well but I did NOT this time--definitely was not going to tip for being maimed and the poor customer service on top of the $60 for the badly done job! I came to have my feet look nice for a party and instead it looks worse. More than anything I just really hope it doesn't get infected! I hear such horror stories of what can happen from a nail salon and the cut I see is sliced quite deep and still hurts. :(

I started coming here a couple of months ago after a friend recommended the salon to me! Till this day, I'm still a regular! I've had 3 different nail technicians and they are all so nice & patient. People think I pay a little too much for my nails; I get a UV gel fill in $40-$45 BUT the quality of the service and the setting is worth it. P.S if you do get UV gel it may burn a teeny bit on the nail when you put it under the light. I also like that you earn points every time you pay for a service! Love love love this place, I'll be back soon

It took me a very, very, very long time to compose this review. Firstly, because I didn't want the…read moreyoung lady who waxed me to get in trouble, and secondly, because I never want to leave a review when emotions are high, especially for a small business. I'm cautious because I understand how crucial reviews are. However, the more I pondered on this experience, the more disappointed I became after the initial pain and hurt subsided. My first visit to Uni Wax last September was amazing. It was my inaugural wax experience, and the technician, with over 10 years of experience, was not only a pro but also made me feel comfortable since she knew it was my first time. During this appointment, I waxed my legs, bikini area, and underarms. It wasn't as painful as I anticipated. The two stars I'm giving are solely because she was amazing. Then, in February, I visited the Hoboken location. I didn't select or research the technicians; I assumed they'd all be as amazing as my first experience. I booked a bikini and underarm wax. Upon arrival, the greeting wasn't overly warm, but I didn't mind, understanding that people have bad days. However, I distinctly remember being struck by the absence of smiles. When asked who I booked with, I replied that I booked with anyone. A young girl then took me to the back. She seemed very nervous. She began with my underarms, and it was evident she didn't quite know what she was doing -- very timid movements. Trying to make small talk, I asked her how long she'd been there. She replied less than a month, and I was surprised, asking where she was before. She had just graduated from school. I then inquired how many clients she had seen, to which she replied I was her second customer. I considered leaving immediately, especially when I found the underarm waxing more painful than I anticipated. However, I understood that people need experience to grow. That was a mistake. When we reached the bikini area, I experienced the most excruciating pain I've ever felt since giving birth. It was so intense; I felt like I was going to pass out. It was incredibly traumatic, and I believe the technician was traumatized as well. She had no idea what she was doing, and I'm sure the other technicians heard my cries. What bothered me the most was that the team knew she lacked experience and still assigned her to take care of a customer. I don't blame her; I blame the team for not adequately training her. Even if they didn't know it was only my second time waxing, why assign an untrained technician to perform a bikini wax? I left, smiling through the pain, paid, tipped, and went home. To make matters worse, I ended up with the largest ingrown hair I've ever had near the entrance of my genital area. I couldn't sit down properly for a week; it was the size of a flipping cherry. That's why I know those few weeks were not a good time to write a review. My advice: train your new team members better.

I really hope she did not damage my skin because my next option is to see a physician in regard to the trauma she caused. Idk why she has good reviews she's not good. When I first started coming here, I was genuinely impressed by Yuly's attention to detail and creativity. I loved her designs and even suggested that she expand her chrome and specialty color options which she did. For the past two years, I have come in every month and have almost always gotten a chrome manicure. Over time, however, the experience has declined. Lately, many of the chrome powders have been out of stock and have not been restocked. There are also frequently basic polish colors missing, and I have sometimes had the impression that similar, but not identical, were used in place of the ones selected from the display. While this was frustrating, it was not enough to make me stop coming. Today changed that. I came in for my birthday nails (which was a simple color + chrome combo) and was told that the chrome powder I wanted was not only out of stock (not surprising) but also could not be done because I had not selected a specific add-on in the new booking system. This was surprising because I booked the appointment the same way I always have for chrome manicures. To make matters worse, there is no standalone chrome powder option in Yuly's booking portal, so it was not at all clear that I was supposed to select something different. What was most disappointing was the way the situation was handled. I would have expected that after two years of monthly appointments, and as a customer who is consistently punctual and tips well, there would have been some grace, or at the very least a kind explanation of how to book correctly in a system that seems to change frequently. Instead, I was made to feel as though adding chrome had always been some special favor, rather than a service I was paying extra for. If I am paying an additional $20+ for a chrome finish that takes only a few extra minutes I should not be gaslit as if I am asking for something extravagant and unreasonable. Loyal customers should be treated with more care, professionalism, and courtesy.

If you're looking for a reliable, professional and overall just amazing esthetician look no further…read morethan Kassandra. I truly mean it when I say this, golden skin center has been one of the best places I've been to. I have visited a lot of waxing centers/ estheticians and no one compares to Kassandra. She takes her time with you. She genuinely cares about her customers and that's what I love ! I also believe that her prices are extremely fair. She also does this discount as a first time guest which I think is really neat. I'm very honest with all my reviews and I've waited a while to write this one because I feel that these are things you see a change through time. I've been going to Kassandra since the summer of 2020 for all my waxing needs and i am OBSESSED. She just knows how to make them less painful, she'll know what your skin needs and will explain to you techniques on how to take care of it. She has also examined my skin and has made suggestions/ tips that have helped me see so much difference in my skin and overall lifestyle. She's taught me so much in a short amount of time. I also love the decor of the place and it is indeed COVID SAFE. She cleans after each customer and since you make your apt ahead of time, you are usually the only one there during your time. I do suggest sometimes walking or being dropped off since at certain times of the day parking could be annoying BUT that's only sometimes. Thanks Kass. I am so glad I came across your place ! If you were looking for a sign to go, this is it (:
