My nail tech whom thought I did not speak spanish spent the entire appointment talking bad about how bad my nails were. It was demoralizing and such a bad experience I decided to never go back. Just wanted to give a heads up to all clients. Nothing like hearing staff go back and forth talking bad about you in a language you are fluent in but they don't know you are. You can make an appointment online which is nice, but I had to wait 15 minutes when I arrived because they were running late. They have a decent color selection, and the salon is two floors. I went in for a mani and pedi. Vanessa did the mani for me. I asked her to be gentle with pushing and cutting my cuticles as I have sensitive hands, and she did exactly that. Teressa did my pedi. I had ingrown nails on my big toes, so she cleaned and removed the ingrown nails very carefully for me. She also gave me a very nice foot massage. I loved it and will definitely be going back. read more

After a pedicure here, I now have painful swelling on my big toenails on BOTH feet. They must have cut into the skin or something. Also, gel manicure was sloppy and left my cuticles looking raggedy. There weren't that many people, but the manicurist was still super inattentive and distracted. read more

Overall had a good experience here! Came here for the first time during covid times and for the most part all the staff adhered to safety regulations. Only saw a couple brief instances where a staff was not properly wearing their mask. I got extensions with dip powder and a design on top. I came in with press on nails which they took off. Total price was $95 before tip. I really wanted to try an abstract nail design and while the attendant wasn't able to achieve the first photo I showed her, I am overall happy with the end design. She was very thorough and attentive. I had to ask her to fix the shape of my nails a few times and she was able to quickly fix it. The reasons I'm not giving 5 stars is because it wasn't exactly the original design I had wanted and at the end of the session it wasn't too clear what the $95 entailed. I was surprised at the price because I usually pay 55-60 for nail removal, dip powder with extensions. But since the whole session took 2+ hours and overall the attendant was very nice, I just paid what was asked. read more

The place is not so clean and tidy. If manicure station is presentable the pedicure station is a mess. The paint on the walls is chipping, the massage chairs are pealing as well, the tools chart is extremely dusty and dirty. They do have sterilization oven and bags but I don't believe they leave it in for a long enough time. I saw my friends tools packaged and placed in the bake oven and about 4-5 min later another technician came and grabbed it. I believe the process is to soak tools in water or solution for 15 min completely submerged. Then dry off with towel and then placed in backing sheet or bag for at least 10 minutes at 350 decrees. That did NOT happen. The pedicure itself felt rushed. The nails are crooked and different shapes. The nail polish is laid too thick and bleed all over the cuticle. All thought it's not the worst pedi I've ever received but it does not deserved more then 3 stars as specially for a $50 ticket price. read more

Booked this through ClassPass when it's not very close to me and unfortunately I went out of my way for a pretty unpleasant experience. I'm not sure if I caught the salon on a bad day, but it smelled strongly of nail glue to the point where I started to feel nauseous. It was really unpleasant. I had to wait for about 15 minutes even though I had an appointment with no notification that there would be a delay or why there was a delay. Once I sat down, my gel manicure was very rushed and I don't think my nails were under the UV light for long enough. She also cut my cuticle and made it bleed without saying anything and left sloppy gel marks above my nails and on the side (which were cut so short that she couldn't even file it properly). Do not get Dip here. I went here 3 x's as it's in my neighborhood and the last time was the worst! After finally growing my natural nails out, I was excited to finally dip my natural nail (and not pay extra for tips). Every time I've left, I've re-filed & even painted my dip with 1 week gel. The last time, 3 of my nails broke the following day- TWO injured & BLEEDING! I've since done a ton of research & am very happy w Wisteria Nails in NYC. This place was very disappointing..... I'm into reading reviews to any places I have yet to experience & this one is absolutely not aligned with most of the reviews stating it is a good spot. I go to a very professional, clean, well put together nail in JC heights but my usj lady was booked and I needed my nails done urgently. First of all before going there I called and let them know exactly what I needed which was a gel mani, reg pedi & a nail tech who was the best in the salon (straight to the point) when I first entered everyone there didn't seem happy to be working there the lady who did my pedi did not look me in the eye for anything, no type of etiquette and very serious and not interested in a tip. So they paired me with what I thought was the best but clearly was not because she couldn't get a simple design right and had to correct it about 5xs. The nail polish along with gems did not last even two days. I had to go back to my regular nail tech to completely take off the polish and make it look up to my liking. I am all from giving credit when it is due but this place does not deserve anyone's $$$ read more

Update to my old review: Ever since Erika stopped working here, things have gone downhill. I suspect they came under new management because a woman who I suspect is the manager started showing up and I had never seen her before. And another woman replaced Erika under suspicious circumstances...Erika supposedly had to relocate suddenly and "quit". I asked the woman who replaced her if this was the real reason Erika left and she gave a vague answer, implying it wasn't. The new women seem nice but it all smells very odd to me. I actually stopped getting my acrylics done here and had them remove them. They were starting to fall off! When Erika used to do them they never fell off. While I was getting the removal done, the woman I assume is the new manager was going on about how she didn't want me to think they did a bad job and that I should come back for other services. All in all I cannot recommend this place for acrylics, which is the only service I've ever personally had done by them. read more

You should have seen these before this shot. I'm too embarrassed to show them. Personable and professional shop. Clean and orderly. They did a great job on my post acrylic paws. You gals know that stage when you're letting your nails breathe. Yeah. The pedicure was up to snuff not going to brag about it about because I require heavy sloughing. The leg and foot massage was relaxing. I do a lot of walking. All in all I'd return. The only caveat is you should carry cash because you can't tip on the card. This was a gel nail with a regular pedi. It's recommend that you make an appointment. I waited 30 mins to be seen which is not crazy for a Saturday. read more

Full disclosure,My boyfriend and I share this account so don't be Alarmed. So this place is tiny and very beautiful and the women are extremely nice and friendly which is the only reason I am giving it two stars. I went about 3 weeks ago now and I'm not sure what took me so long to write the review. I went in for a pedicure and full set on a Saturday morning. Of course being a yelper I did my research and found this place. Unfortunately I was a bit underwhelmed which later became disappointed. So the lovely lady who did my pedicure did a decent job however kept pressuring me into the $55 spa pedicure which I was silly to do because she didn't even have the proper supply. My toes also chipped nearly instantly. So my full set. I was so happy leaving the place I thought they did a wonderful job however exactly 5 days later I lost my first nail and the next lost another. No big deal right, I was upset but didn't sweat it, i called and made an appointment. when I get there they sent me to a lady who clearly has no idea what she was doing it was painful to watch luckily some else jumped in but long story short rushed my nails which didn't allow my gel to properly dry causing it to peel.wouldn't recommend... ever! oh also in total spent about $125. I live and work in the area and tried this place out this past weekend. I got a manicure and a pedicure. The pedicure was really nice and the woman (Candy?) did a good job. For some reason they switched me to someone else for the manicure and it ended up being fairly bad. Candy ended up doing another manicure right after, so not sure why I was switched. The woman who did my manicure seemed distracted. She cut up my cuticle pretty badly (see picture) and the paint job looks like I did it myself. The polish had weird bumps in the nail and was allover my cuticles. I brought my own polish, and thought maybe it was hard to work with, but my toe nails look perfect and it was the same polish. The place is also way too small. When getting a manicure you have people basically up against your back and bumping into you to get by. Same thing when drying. It's just too small to be a relaxing experience. read more

I've been coming to polish me Newport and Washington St. locations since I moved to Jersey city 4 years ago. I've always have a great experience at this location - always relaxing, good conversation, great music and great nails. I've done regular/gel manis and pedis. Everyone is great at their job and I have never waited long I've done gels with Erika multiple times even for my bridal shower and wedding. All I can say about this place is...it's fine. It's very small space wise, and while they try to space things out because of COVID, it's just tight. While they have a massive amount of colours, they don't have a huge range, and the regular polish doesn't match the gel options. I have After School Boy Blazer on my toes (even though I was really looking for Mind Your Mittens) and a teal colour on my nails because it was the closest match. Ie: there was no navy gel for my nails. She cut the side of my toenails and they really hurt to which she said "maybe you have an ingrown" but I usually only get ingrowns when they cut the side of the nail. 100% my fault for not speaking up, but I didn't really feel comfortable saying so. I guess I will watch and see if it gets ingrown or not. Same type of issue with my nails, one of them is stabbing into my cuticle and one of my cuticles actually has a small cut. The shape is very very square. Also, I thought it was odd the lamps only went off for 30 seconds at a time. Price was great, (I just moved here from NYC and was paying $80 for a gel and pedi) only $65 for a gel mani and regular pedi. Not the fault of the women working there, but it was very quiet, except for this one girl who came in and was SCREAMING in her airpods. I kept shooting her looks, but she clearly didn't notice that nobody else was on the phone. Quite rude really, and added to the non relaxing experience. Overall, like I said, it was a fine experience. Not great, not awful. Probably won't be back though, which is a shame because the location is great. read more

I opted for it and received the best service in pedicure and manicure I will also come next time for waxing and threading. This place has terrible service. This was my first time here, I called to make an appt. before I walked over because the place I usually frequent was all booked up. I ordered a pedicure and eyebrow wax, the pedicure was lukewarm, rushed and aggressive. She would snatch my foot instead of asking me to move forward closer. I picked a neon green color which means the pedicurist has to paint a coat of white nail polish before she applies the neon green. Immediately the lady got an attitude. After she finished the pedicure we went downstairs for her to wax my eyebrows and she did a terrible job did not clean them up or shape them properly it felt and looked like she did not know what she was doing. However, she was confident because when I told her I'd tip $5 she asked for more. After eyebrow waxing when she placed me under the dryer she told me "sorry that she couldn't give me a massage." Keep in mind I was the ONLY customer who did not get a simple shoulder massage. My big toe nail polishes got smudged under the dryer so I told her and she fixed it and told me to Stay for a long time because she has to add many layers on my toe. So I sat from 3:35-4. Stopped by on a Saturday morning for a dip powder manicure & gel pedicure. Both women were extremely rough with the way they shaped and filed my nails to the point that I constantly had to tell them to please be gentle. One woman would not stop trying to cut my cuticles and ended up ripping a part of my nail away- very painfully. Lastly, the customer service was very disappointing and quality of my nails is awful. Neydy is amazing if you want a design of any sort or just a well done mani. I spent over an hour and a half at the salon and left with a botched pedicure. My pedicure technician spent a very long time painting and repainting my toes only for them to turn out like this. I wasn't able to get a gel manicure, they buffed the flaky gel off because I was out of time and the front desk actually tried to charge me full price after showing her my feet and telling her what happened. After this debacle I was still charged $40 and was told maybe I'd get an "extra massage" on my next visit. Be careful and ask for the break down of the price before paying ( including the 10% off when paying cash). I find the workers pretty racist to be honest. They don't even have a small talk with you if you can't contribute to their ongoing Spanish conversation. You can't even get in between to make a request from your technician without getting a weird look from the technician from the near table. Place is not welcoming, they literally are rude and not worth to be treated like that. Poor management is causing this problem in my opinion. read more
