three glasses of wine and a menu

The husband and I had a nice visit to Cutruzzola's tasting room in Cambria when we were in town a while back. Had extremely friendly service from start to finish. Enjoyed their little outdoor area on a sunny day. Lots of Pinot Noir options to taste, which was right up our alley!

Dirk (owner & winemaker) of Absolution Cellars in Morro Bay brought my husband and I here this past weekend. We knew we were going to be in for some delicious wine because winemakers ALWAYS know the good places to go, but what we didn't know was we were going to receive amazing customer service along with fun wine education that we loved! Reyna was the most amazing host and she was so knowledgeable about each wine! I loved that she was willing to teach us about their delicious riesling and pinor noirs (but she was also willing to not over talk had we been the type to want to sit by ourselves)! I learned alot from Reyna! Their Riesling was the best I've ever had! So good, very well balanced and only a little sweet. Their chardonnay was not oakey, which made it delicious for me! 1 pinot was "lighter" while the other was more full bodied. Both were absolutely delicious! My pinot loving husband bought the fuller bodied pinot because it was so delicious. The zinfandel was amazing and not jammy which we prefer! We were fortunate to do the cheese pairing and they use cheese from Viviant cheese in paso robles which made me so happy! And they sell the cheese too! We left with 2 bottles of wine and cheese and can't wait to go back!! Always trust another winemakers recommendation, they know where the good wines are!!

Have been here many times and is a really nice place to stop for some wine and friendly atmosphere. Cutruzzola Vineyards focuses on Riesling and Pinot Noir. Each has their own unique and delicious flavors and always fun to taste the different years wines next to each other to in a mini vertical tasting. The tasting room is well put together but does not have that sterile feel. Would be fun to be there for a wine dinner. Be sure to say hi to Karen, and interested to hear your thoughts on the wine. Cheers.

Try the Riesling Pe'tillant Naturel Estates.2017 They only made 24 cases so don't wait. It's a very friendly place and I will be back again.

We enjoyed our wine tasting and cheese pairing! Took 4 bottles home with us and can't wait to drink it. I forget who helped us but she was very nice to us! Can't wait to visit again!

Nice place to enjoy some great wine

Cutruzzola was the first winery I stopped into in Cambria, and so glad I did. Reyna was so friendly and knowledgeable, and the tasting room has a laid-back welcoming vibe. Best of all the wines were excellent. Hard to decide, but I bought a bottle of the 2014 Riesling Estate - really incredible, and the 2013 Pinot Noir Estate Gloria - wow. As an added bonus, on the way out, spotted 2 deer in the hills behind the shop!

Discovered Cutruzzola's wines at the SLO film festival. Came to the tasting room in Cambria and Reina provided us with great hospitality. Because of the coastal climate they produce delicious Riesling and Pinot Noir. I'm not usually a fan of Riesling however theirs were very drinkable, not overly sweet. However, I am a big fan of Pinot Noir and the three that they had on the tasting menu did not disappoint.

All of these wines were fantastic!

My husband and I randomly stopped in here when we were on a trip and I am so glad we did! We met Reyna, who was our sommelier, and she was just fantastic. Extremely knowledgeable and nice, we had many laughs. I am very particular about my wines and have never liked every wine that was part of a flight or tasting. This wine was outstanding, every one!!! I became a Wine Club Member with them because their wines are just excellent with so much flavor, very smooth and creamy. I didn't get "cat tongue" on any of their wines. ("Cat Tongue" is a term my family uses when you drink wine and feels like it sucks all the moisture out from your mouth, just dries it up). Can't wait for my first batch of wines to be delivered. We even got a nice postcard in the mail from Reyna when we got home.

Visiting this place in Cambria was the highlight of our trip. Raina who served us was really amazing!!

Unfortunately, the wines did not suit our tastes. Given the owner's pedigree as a sommelier, our expectations were high. I've always been a bit skeptical of organic wines, and the six wines in the flight confirmed my prior experiences. They all had a vinegar-like taste--imagine what a wine kombucha would taste like. You'd think there would be at least one wine that was good, but we didn't find one that we enjoyed. The atmosphere, however, was amazing! We loved the farm environment with a beautiful lawn and tons of room for kids to run around. Dogs are welcome, too! Our server, Stephanie, was also very nice and knowledgeable about the wines. Please know that this is just two people's opinion on the wines. Lots of people must like these wines given the reviews. Again, nice place , nice people, but it was tough to drop $70 on two tastings and not find one wine that we wanted to buy.

I had reserved a junior suite for the large soaking tub as advertised on their website. We arrived at 8:30 pm after driving 3 hours after work to get there. We were given a handicapped accessible room that did not have the large soaking tub. When I went back to the front desk to ask for a different room I was told there were no other options, "I reserved a Junior Suite and I received a junior suite. If I didn't like it I could check out." Note: there was an option to reserve the handicap accessible suite or a regular suite on the website. I had reserved the regular suite. There was no apology, no attempt to rectify the situation. The front desk staff were so cold and heartless. The response of either take it or leave it left in tears. I sent an email Monday morning after we returned home. I have yet to receive a response to my email. Not even a simple acknowledgement and we will look into this and get back to you. We had to find another hotel room at 9 pm on a Friday night. No small venture in Cambria during the summer. Clearly this hotel does not care about their customers especially repeat customers. Needless to say WE WILL NEVER reserve another room here. Do better Cambria Pines Lodge!!! Thanks for ruining my anniversary!!

Had a room with a king bed and fireplace. It was so cute and cozy. I will say all of these places down here are Basically boutique motels so some of the things, like the shower drain and door, and window sills could be newer, but everything was clean and cute! The theming is even better in person and the grounds are soo nice. We walked around the other hotels in the area and this one is by far the best in terms of the grounds! If you have a dog, this is the place!!! We can't wait to come back! The Cow Tipper was good for breakfast too, dog friendly once again! We loved the trails right across the street! In terms of being close to the water and cliffs you really can't beat the location on this! Just a couple smalls things to note: The fireplaces outside don't get too hot outside so pack blankets if you plan to hang out! Still fun and cozy! Cambria is way colder than you think it will be!! The bed in our room didn't have a red comforter on it, and my parents room did, I thought it was because we had a dog as a guest but after leaving I see pictures of comforters and dogs in the rooms so I'm not really sure why we didn't get one? When we got there, there was blood stains on the white sheets (just looked stained not fresh blood/dirty) and the girl on the phone was really weird about getting us new sheets and kept saying it's rust not blood but she never even came up to see it...either way housekeeping staff came by a couple minutes later and were very helpful and apologetic unlike her! The morning staff, a young man was very helpful! Someone keeps smoking weed by the fires and he handled it was such haste! It was refreshing! Thank you everyone! We will be back!

We had stayed here before and were really looking forward to the same peaceful experience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time. When we arrived, there was a wedding set up about 20 feet from our room. The music was extremely loud, and we were told it would continue until 10pm. The huge easy up stayed all weekend. It blocked our entire view of anything from our hotel window. That sucked, especially considering we chose this room for its privacy and quiet. We brought this up to the front desk, and while the staff member was polite(ish), he only offered a 7% discount, which felt pretty dismissive given the situation.  It's really disappointing because we know this hotel can offer a great experience, we've stayed before. But this time, it felt like they didn't care about the guests because the wedding was going to bring in more money. If you're considering staying here for a quiet getaway, I'd strongly recommend confirming there are no events happening near your room. We suggest staying at White Water or El Colibri instead!
