Man where to being this is an awesome barber shop. Very laid back, and for me getting a hair cut twice a week the price is no bad! Had the chance to work with Luvve yesterday! Lemme tell you this guy was not only a pleasure to work with and talk to but he can cut some hair! We spent a good 45 minutes talking about just anything as he worked and when he finally spun the chair around I saw a new person. From what I can see, Cutthroat is the best. Nobody wanted to cut my hair! I was a first timer walking in and nobody greeted me. Three of the employees weren't doing anything they where all just talking ignoring me. Another one was talking on his cellphone and cutting hair at the same time, unprofessional and careless! I sat down waiting to be helped for like 5 minutes, until finally one of them asked if I had been checked in. On my first experience at Cutthroat, the cut was ok, but they actually cut the back of my neck with the the clippers. I was also annoyed to find the my gift card expired when I decided to give the place another chance, so I lost 30 dollars that could have been used for a haircut. I can't say enough good things about Shayne at Cutthroat. I've come to cutthroat intermittently for a couple of years but never felt like I got a cut that could justify the cost on a consistent basis. I've grown up like most typical guys thinking I didn't really have hair that warranted a stylist or the stylist price. Shayne's work has changed my mind on that. He's truly a craftsman who cares about what he does. In addition to giving me great haircuts and beard trims, he's great for conversation and loves talking about his kids and the world. He isn't pushy or awkward, he's a real guy, and I've appreciated every visit I've had so far. One of the best moments in my last visit (just this morning) was watching Shayne and they guy in the chair next to him mentor a young barber about the intricacies of cutting hair. I tried so hard to like this place. However 4 out of my last 5 haircuts have been cancelled. Either the stylist was overbooked, or running late, or in the last case, the salon just decided to close early. I assume that the place has become so popular that the staff has gotten a bit arrogant and simply sees no issue cancelling appointments and offering replacements weeks away. I'll start by mentioning I have a really bad receding hairline. My wife and I agree this is the BEST haircut I've ever had! I set up an appointment online to see a barber. It takes a lot for me to write reviews but after getting a haircut at CUTTHROAT (by Brandy) I feel it's necessary to let men (especially those with thinning hair like mine) know of this fantastic barber shop. First, Brandy listened to my hair issues (lack of) and explained what would look best and make my hair appear thicker. Then, she took the time to scissor cut and shave it so that when she was finished I was amazed at the improvement. The biggest point were the numerous compliments I received from friends and family, asking, "what did you do different to your hair, it looks thicker". I moved to Houston almost 2 years ago and for the first six months I searched high and low for a barbershop. After six or so bad haircuts, one night I was next door at Reserve Supply and happen to notice the new barber pole next door. I walked in and met Brandan and he explained to me that they had just opened that day. Even though I had just gotten a haircut about a week before I wanted to give them a shot. From that moment on, I have had zero issues figuring out where to get my haircut in Houston. I now try to go every three weeks. I get my haircut by Juan but Bones and Brandy are always friendly and say hello when I come in. Everything about cutthroat is right. This place deserves more than five stars... Seriously, I have never had anything less than an amazing experience here. I have been going to Carlos B. For over a year now and have never left anywhere close to unsatisfied. Kid holds it down and is loyal to what he does. Simply put? He's an artist... I have been to all three locations now... Perfection, perfection, perfection.... I got a busy schedule so sometimes I might miss Carlos bc the kid stays booked... But for a good reason.. He always holds it down... But when I haven't been able to get in with him, I have gotten in with other barbers and they produce quality work as well.. So yeah, I can say Cut Throat is 100% across the board. Worth the wait and def worth the money. Not only that, but the customer service is flawless, the music awesome, and oh yeah you want a beer? No problem they got you covered... So to wrap this up...
