Was recommended by a family member and they didn't disappoint. Although I had to wait two weeks for my truck to be checked out - non-diesel, non-commercial so that may have made a difference in availability - they were honest, straightforward, and extremely knowledgeable. When I showed up to finally drop it off very early on a Friday, their crew was already working on trucks and the place was moving liked a well oiled machine (no pun intended). Pick up later that day was the same - everyone was working on something. Diagnosis was spot on, estimates and options for repair were thorough, reasonable and unbiased - everything was done in half a day and the final bill was lower than expected even with choosing a higher quality part. This doesn't always happen and that shouldn't be expected, but it was a pleasant surprise. Very poor turn around. Dropped a truck off on a tue. With a appointment to be checked out and they didn't look at it until thur. Night and said they fixed it fri. 1550 later. Them drove same problem came back withing 120 miles so bring it back wed. And told them I need it back before the weekend and never heard from them and now idk when I will get it back and loose another week of work so I average 1500 a week with that truck and now lost 2 weeks going on three over them! I was quoted $500.00 to swap out the transmission in my 2008 Ram 2500. I supplied the transmission and the swap cost $1024.00. I called and talked to Curt, the same person that gave me the original quote. After asking why my bill was more than double the original quote he said he would jave to call me back. He never called, my son p/u the truck paid the bill and left. Now it has been 3 days since my call to Curt and still no call back. I suppose he got double the price and he was happy so why should he call his custom back and try to explain the double charging. What he didn't realize is I have a contract in the Twin Cities with a manufacturer and had he treated me right (stand behind his quotes) I would have brought $1000's of dollars in repairs back to his shop. I run a hotshot trucki g company and have 5 trucks running out of the Twin Cities area under contract. I would hsve given them all my repair business but he just had to screw me. So be it! I have since researched another business that also promotes and primarily services the diesel pick up area. There name is Jegs Pro Truck. I have talked to them and was asured the transmission swap should not have been more than the $500.00 I was quoted to begin with including fluid. They told me that if I had any other truck issues they would be more than happy to quote my repair and would guarantee that price. I guess you know where I'm going next time. Sorry Cutting Edge Diesel and Curt, but you lost a great opportunity with my company. I have been meaning to write a review on these guys for a few months now. After going thru a very trying time finding someone who could do the repairs to my sons 2006 6.0 Ford, we ran across Cutting Edge's website. We submitted an email, assuming, once again we would get no where fast.. THEY CALLED US back.. and within an hour. Without getting into every single detail here this truck breaking down was very emotional for us because we could not find anyone who could help us. We work in ND and either they looked at it and didn't know what to do and charged us anyway, or they had no clue and no time. Within a few days Cutting Edge had an empty load heading back to MN from ND and my sons Ford was on its way to their shop to take a look. They dug into it.. called with the news. It was a lot of damage done to the engine, but they assured us they could fix it. Communication was awesome. They walked us through every step and my son even added some after market items. Let's just say these guys put that engine together within a couple of weeks and we were on our way to pick it up in MN. Watching my son start his truck back up after two long hard years of begging and pleading for help from a diesel mechanic up in ND.. HIS TRUCK WAS FIXED AND AWESOME! I am not a mechanic, my son knows a lot about the 6.0 and he said, MOM they know what theyre doing. It as a blessing and such a pleasure working with them.
