This place was definitely cool -- scariest I've ever been to? Nah. But still a solid time! The walkthrough lasted about 45 minutes, and honestly, the first 15 were the best part. Walking through the closet was absolutely terrifying, and the surprise "getting peed on" moment? Weirdly creative -- I'll give them that! The zombie band was another fun highlight that really stood out. After that, things slowed down a bit. It started to lose momentum and there weren't as many actors toward the end, which made it feel a little empty in spots. You do go up and down a lot of stairs, so it's definitely not handicap accessible. Oh -- and fair warning: I skipped the bubble exit and went through the mist exit instead... huge mistake. We went June Saturday the 14th!! They're not lying it's almost an hour long. A lot of walking and it was super Hot. Drink lots of water!! A lot of down stairs and up stairs. Hard to explain. If you're planning to go, make sure to buy your tickets online ahead of time. We booked our tickets about four days in advance. The time slots between 8-10pm on a Saturday were completely sold out. Parking was $15 per car. I recommend carpooling if you're going in a big group. Once you park, you will have to check in online or via text. There will be a notification of when to head to the haunted house, which was roughly three minutes for us. You will have to sign a waiver before proceeding. Once you stand in line, it's an additional 30 minutes to reach the entrance. (FYI: The last person in the group gets to wear a glow in the dark stick.) Watch out for the chainsaw man; he's out and about. The DJ will be playing music the entire time to entertain while everyone waits. If you're lucky, you may see the skeleton drummers marching around. Throughout the whole experience, the music was very loud and upbeat, giving this fast paced vibe. Honestly, it might be creepier to play eerie, slow music. The best scenario would be to keep it completely silent, which is nearly impossible with how popular and crowded this place is. There are parts with nothing much going on. The group in front of us was walking pretty slow, so we kept on bumping into them. Nevertheless, we could hear them scream and shriek ahead of us. My advice is to try to isolate from the group before you as much as possible to minimize spoiling surprises or upcoming scares. At the end, there is the option to either go through the foam or bypass it. I recommend holding hands with people in your group if opting for the ruthless foam. As you advance, it gets difficult to breathe, comparable to the sensation of drowning for 10 seconds. You will get soaked on this last part! Overall, it was a fun group activity. This was the most high-energy haunted house I've ever been to! We didn't wait very long at all, but while we were in line a DRUMLINE came out and played! Inside, things moved pretty steadily. There were more drummer bands at checkpoints to try and space us out (which didn't work very well, but not too disappointing). I enjoyed the various hallways of spooks! Most of the actors looked amazing and some even startled me (I'm really difficult to scare). The foam tunnel was quite the unique experience too! There was also the option to not go through it. Total walkthrough was 26 minutes. Criticisms: Could've had more lighting on the scenes/objects. One actor was just sitting there -- she had a manager-type microphone attached to her shirt and wore a lazy/cheap skeleton mask, and didn't even try to do anything as we passed. They definitely should've spaced us out more -- we had the time and patience since we didn't wait in line very long at all. The actors maybe could've also jumped out more, but I think that had to do with having so many people going through their areas as once, nonstop. Parking was $20, the only haunt I've been to that charged for parking. Concessions were semi expensive -- the shirt for $20/25is normal, but 20 for relatively cheap earrings? I hadn't been to this place in a very long time. I think my daughter may have been a preteen & she is 26 now, so that will give you an idea. The prices certainly were not 50.00 per person & they didn't have iPads for you to sign you legal rights away on before entering the place that's for sure. We went Halloween night in the slotted time of 730-800pm. The line went very fast to get us in. My boyfriend & I brought his 14 yr old daughter since she was in town just to try something fun. I don't think she was impressed though. I remember it being way more scarier & now it's very predictable. This best part to me was about 1/2 way through you got to stop & take a break to listen to some guys that were totally jamming on these glowing drums. It was wild. Don't take pics in there! Someone came & hit me in the face with a balloon! Then as I was walking out of that corridor she tapped my nose twice! I tapped hers back! The other fun part is the bubble room. You can bypass it if you would like, but I wouldn't. You are totally immersed in bubbles to the point you have to close your eyes & your mouth. You have to feel your way out! When you do get out you're soaked like a sponge of dawn fixing to do the dirty dishes! I haven't laughed that hard while having a semi-anxiety attack at the same time! Summary not scary... pricey.. While the experience is long (took about 45 minutes to go through) it lacked a lot. Many areas were just props and loud music. Not a lot of scare actors overall, and the ones we did see didn't do a whole lot. While the scenes *may* have been good, you really couldn't tell as the lighting was so poor. Dark and creepy is one thing, but dark and can't see any of the details is another. The one thing I could always make out, though, were the pads on the floor to trigger the lame sound effect jump scares. And it was so frikkin hot. Like, I've been in a warehouse with no ventilation after it sat baking in the 90+ degree heat all day. No wonder the scare actors were so lethargic. At the end a bored young girl sat at a double exit tunnel and blandly asked "Foam or no foam?" Stupidly I said "Foam?" and was directed into a floor to ceiling tunnel of actual foam. Like a raves's foam party, but you couldn't see anything. I inhaled foam and ate foam as panic began to set in. I thought for a moment I would die in that foam. This must be what going through a washing machine must be like. Imagine going through an automatic car wash with all the windows down. After what seemed like an hour, I emerged, coughing and choking, completely soaked. My hair, my clothes, even my shoes were wet. I shudder to think how much of that foam I was ingesting had been spit out of someone else's mouth ahead of me. People that were in charge of putting groups through were not taking into consideration that you need to give the group ahead enough time to go far enough through to not ruin the scare for the following group. This was a very good haunted house. I loved it. It was very scary and the actors were doing amazing. Also when you go through the tiny space were it has clothes hanging it was like I was gonna suffocate. The live rock band was outstanding in all lines, waiting in the haunted house for too bad with the clowns. They are chainsaws chasing you really cool and things just hissing and popping out at you at the end. I don't recommend the bubbles get soaked, and you have to cover your eyes mouth and nose because you're going to get them in your eyes and you almost can't breathe, but I was all fine I do recommend this to ages 13 and up. read more

Not worth the time or money now. I went about 10 years ago and have been wanting to try this haunt again. I remember it being a lot more fun and organized. The Saw room at the end back then was really a cool touch....now there is a bubble tunnel....Cost way too much to be rushed through the haunt and they put you with other people. So if you think it will be just you and your friends going as a group, nope!! They herd you in with like 10 other people. So by the time you get to a room or hallway and you are in the back or middle, the first two people have trigger the scare. Takes almost an hour to get through because there are three times you actually stop and are in a queue again waiting to continue. And the bubble tunnel and the end was dumb, we were not offered a way around it but thankfully there was already a hole through it from the previous groups. Did nothing but soak us. I would have been really mad if it was freezing that night. Try other haunts, there is one not too far from this one in strip mall that is pretty impressive. read more

The space itself was really cool and a lot of the props were really good, but the experience was really underwhelming due to the the interactions with the scare actors. I was under the impression that this haunted house was supposed to be really intense? But pretty much everyone in our 5 party group was wondering why the actors weren't making an effort to try and scare us. None of them said anything, no screaming or yelling either. The most I ever got were a few people thrusting their hands in front of my face for a couple seconds. A lot of them just literally stared at me as we walked past. We were also really confused at the end because it took us maybe 35 minutes at most to get through the whole thing when we thought it was supposed to be close to an hour. $30 for the initial ticket and $20 additional dollars for parking, which by the way the parking lot security guards had already left by the time we got back to the car at 9pm. The foam pit is terrifying. I'm surprised they haven't listened to any of the reviews that all STATE THE SAME THING. Way too many! FULL to the top with foam, it sticks to you, it drenches you, it's so much that no matter if you put a shirt on your head or walk backwards it consumes the room and you start choking and CANNOT BREATHE. So Its October and I was looking around for a nice Halloween event, when I found out that Cutting Edge was still up and running. As some who attended a few years ago, The fact ya'll are still in buisness is laughable. Between the hopped up prices, The sketchy staff, the danger of the bubble maze, the turning a deaf ear to my SA at the hands of multiple staff and the migraine I was left with from the loud af music and the lack of creativity. Let's talk about my traumatic visit, shall we? I was a teen at the time and clearly looked so. At one point, one of your men wearing a glowing skull mask and two more on his hands, pushed me against the railing of one of your walkways and shoved his hand up my skirt. Another time was a man dressed as a clown with a chainsaw who kept smacking my butt with it. Those are just two seperate times throughout the whole house. When I tried to tell one of the normal looking staff about it, ya'll waved me off and said I was making things up. On top of that, I'm sure your staff were either high as a kite or drunk because there were multiple men near the bubble maze who kept laughing and ignoring guests and who would throw things on the guests from their spots. I have such a miserable time that when I got back to my dads car, I was bruised in various places and even had scrapes on my hands and knees from tripping so much thanks to your scarred pushing and pulling on me. To this day I can't stand to be touched. And your snarky 'responses' to the honest reviews simply show your pettiness. I finally have a place to share my horrific experience. Your staff assaulted me and many others and then you shrug off the victims. I hope one day you get outed for what you did. read more

I debated on even giving this a two. I'll give that because it is long so at least it feels like you are in there a decent amount of time. There were three stopping points inside where you stop and wait in a yet more lines which to me felt awkward and ruined the flow for me. The first stop had an awesome band that played. We really enjoyed them. I literally was not scared AT ALL. I have gone to haunted houses my whole life and admit I am a hard scare but this place was lame. I attended on a Saturday, arrived at about 7:20PM. I had to wait on some people, so I actually got in about 8:10. When I entered the line it was exactly halfway (2 rows to the right of the hearse). I didn't but fastpass. My wait was about 90 mins. One thing that they really do a great job of is in line entertainment. Like most haunted houses, monsters walk up and down the line, but they did the most here. There was a skeleton drumline that was amazing. They played a lot and they had well choreographed routines. They seemed to appear about every hour or so. Once in you will go through with your group that you come with. Since much of Cutting Edge is themed "Dark hallways and walls" the likelihood of bottlenecking is high. For this reason they have added "Entertainment Que Sections" where you basically wait in line again inside the haunted house. The signs say to make the best experience possible. There are up to 4 of these. I will say, the first one (killer clowns on drums) was hella tight. Everyone was dancing and jumping in line and I wish I'd had a drink. If that was a club I would forreal go to it. There were 3 more throught the haunted house. Some of the sets were incredible. I loved the clothes closet set when you first get in. For a Saturday, some rooms were just empty. You could see the cutouts where goons were supossed to pop up, but no one came. Also, some of the cast were less well trained than others and I got touched in my face by staff, and some of my companions did as well. I really don't mind, but I know some would. Once outside I just had the general feeling that it wasn't worth the money. I can't quite explain why other than the show inside was just underwhelming. Don't forget to go back and read the important tips up top before going and to dress appropriately for the weather. The entertainment que rooms and some parts of the haunted house are hot, but if there is a chilly breeze you may spend most of your time cold. Also, if you have a little extra cash you can tip the entertainment in the Entertainment Que lines, which they seemed to really appreciate. If anyone knows of a club with black lights and killer clows playing drums AND serves alcohol, holla atcha boi, because that was the tighest part of the whole place and I would give that club 5 stars. read more

We paid $10 to park near the building (scratching head) So already being pissed off they flag us off the lot (with no actors as advertised on the website) and directed us down the street over the bridge and had us park in a grassy muddy lot. Another big slap in the face, a kid working a private lot had a sign for $8 parking and it was closer then our you just got duped $10 parking space. You can save $2 off when you enter your email on the website but frankly we had 5 of us attending and I just used $10 worth of ink to print them out. and the savings is not Valid Oct 7,8,14,15,21,22,28,31 you can Check in on your FB account and redeem a $1 off on the over-rated price of $29.50 So we are standing in line to purchase our tickets and a security guard moves us and during this process a bunch of people cut in front so we got pushed back even more (thank you Cutting Edge employee for this DB move) Then this very nice dressed couple in mid 20's walk up to a group of teenagers in front of us and offers them $5 to let them cut in line. Anger management taught me to handle things a little different so I find the biggest baddest security guard and let him handle the situation that forced them to pay the extra $15 on top of the over-rated price and get a speed pass. I was constantly feeling sorry about myself. Still disturbed from the parking scam. The only way I could completely feel fufilled in this moment is to patiently get through my second long line and have a thrilling Halloween experience in the "World's longest Haunted House" Well I just can't get this huge black cloud to vanish over my head. a few groups behind me is a Mom that is 40's but looks 80 due to Cheez heroin I suppose. with a group of kids in there 20's. Kiss FM is playing great music and so the tweakers are doing the "crazy leg". whatever I don't care at this moment everything else was a total mess. The Mom was holding a dirty plastic cup. The stench of hard core Alcohol was lofting in the air. Not super-premium but cheap nasty kind of vodka stale stench I probably should of complained at this point, but Honestly I was scared of getting shanked by a crack pipe. So we finally get through the Haunted House. I am getting hyped but we basically got shoved through and did not have much of a separation from the group ahead or behind us. Everything was dark. and this was confusing because I can totally understand if your actors wore tacky rubber halloween masks, but they had really cool makeup effects. You can barely see them. You really need to work on your lighting. It was hard taking in any props. So we walk through typical haunts. A mental institution, long narrow closets, Hanging bodies on a meat cleaver rotating on a conveyor belt, scary clowns, music thumping, cemetery scenes, Dinosaurs, chain saws tons of fog. You just can't see much. Note to the owner I have been to Haunted attractions all over the country I know you can make this one hardcore. I did not enjoying getting wet, Not a sprinkle, a hose sprayed me on full blast. So we get to a second line. Oh joy it's my friends ahead of us the Meth group. Note Mom still is carrying her plastic cup empty now of course. The group of kids fire up a cigg. in the haunted house! I take my group and we step back to the end of the line. Everyone was kind of looking at me like I am crazy but then shortly understood once they had to deal with them. So I complain to the security guard. His response was oh ok so they were smoking well we are watching them. We have our eye on them. Wow I feel safe now in my facetious voice. So the line helped break up the groups and made the tour a little better. So then we get into another line and oh joy guess who is near. The group that should of been kicked out! Should I send this review to the fire marshal? Good news they are not smoking but the guy and gal are now heavily kissing and pretty much doing soft core porn on the steps, Ok So my kids get a lesson on this and how to trip on Acid and cocaine because this group was bragging about it. So now I complain a 2nd time, no action at all taken (but I get yelled at for having my cell phone out) It's too bad because the building is cool, huge spacious old meat plant tons of history and real spider webs. if you decide to attend do not wear nice shoes, or clothing and I hope for the sake of Halloween Spirit you have a more enjoyable time then I did. I personally think it's terrifying. Maybe I'm a wimp, but they really cater to every one of your deepest, darkest fears. Scared of closets? Good, there's a couple rooms full of clothes on hangers. Scared of clown? Good, there's a bunch of employees decked out in scary clown regalia honking bike horns in your ear when you least (or most) expect it. Is it medical sh** that gets you? There's a few creepy rooms with unethical medical procedures going on. The only exception is the lack of aliens, my fear factor. I didn't see any! I don't go alone. I take my boyfriend (now husband) as my protector, and another scaredy cat friend to get the adrenaline going. An animatronic dinosaur darting out of the wall gets her every time. The people running this thing try to make it cohesive but results in some weird combos like the ghostly Mayan people with the dinosaurs. I try to be brave and look at every scary humanoid object in the eye, expecting it to move. I thought I had a formula to get them to not jump out at me by looking all of the employees in the eye and smile. Some ignored me and preyed on the teenagers behind me, while others took it as a personal challenge ("Bitch, you better not be smiling!"). There was one employee that was especially committed and was crawling along the floor. It's also pretty freaky when you can smell the chainsaws. *shudders* The rooms are creepy, some cheaply made, but they do a good job of disorienting and scaring you (me). Takes about an hour to go through the whole thing, including the maze that I don't think anyone ever makes out 'alive.' More than onc e I thought it was over and I was jubilent, only to hear heavy metal or Rihanna playing (the cue that more's to come). It gets really hot in certain places, so don't wear a sweater. There are also segments where you are forced to stop and wait on everyone else to build up behind you. I don't mind this so much; I get that they are trying to keep things organized. Plus, they had a skeleton drumline to keep us entertained. So props for that. If you are planning on going between now-Halloween, expect a wait. On weekends, expect that wait to exceed a couple hours (that extra $20 for the speed pass? Worth it if your time is worth more than that). This place is also crawling with teenagers, so you have been warned. All in all, it is a pretty costly experience ($25/ticket, $20 for the speed pass, and $10 for parking). Also, there were some air guns meant to scare you that really hurt our ears and we left with our ears still ringing. This should be the only haunted house you need. It's big, it's creepy, and it's in an old meat packing plant. If the Guinness Book of World Records don't mean sh** to you, then there's nothing more I can say. read more

CAUTION: AVOID THE FOAM MAZE. I went and almost suffocated. The room was filled all the way to the top with foam. I mean you could not see a thing once the person in front of me was gone. I used my shirt to cover my mouth but at that point I was soaked and there was so many bubbles and foam I couldnt see nor breathe. At one point I ran into the wall and screamed for help because I was that afraid I was about to pass out and nobody would see me. Unfortunately, this one lives up to it's ratings on Yelp. If I could give a half star I'd give it a 2.5 but nothing more. This is coming from having attended 2-3 other haunts this year alone. Get here early if you don't want to wait long. When we left the lines were extremely long. The maze itself was really long but that was about it. The actors didn't say much, they kinda just lunged and the spot we were in (which was supposed to be the front) didn't get much action as far as scares. There were also a lot of spots that had potential, but then.....nothing. Also the rob-zombie-esque music playing the entire time was a little off putting and it took away from the scare factor. The last few rooms has some scary music and those were my favorite. Warning : watch out for uneven floors. Whatever you do, skip the bubbles if you don't want your hair, clothes, shoes, etc to be ruined. My husband and I opted out and thank goodness. I wish the four star rating did not come with the comment "Yay! I'm a fan." Because haunted houses suck. I mean..who would want to go deaf, blind, get dirty, sweat alot, and soil themselves? Note: the latter did not happen to me because I'm a man *GRUNT*! I pretty much paid $28 for going through a maze for 1-1.5 hours in which loud noises and music pounded on my ear drums, monsters got in my face, strobe light and lasers blinded my eyes, mist & air blown on all parts of my body, and many other happenings I will not divulge. But if you like those things (and more) Cutting Edge is definitely for you. It is boasted as one of the largest/scariest haunted houses in the world and I think it lives up to its billing (again, I wasn't scared. IM A MAN!). Do NOT wear nice clothes here you will regret it. Bring a date to cling onto ;-). You will also have to pay money for parking. There is a line to get into the Haunted House and it takes about 30 minutes to navigate. read more

COVID 19 response: they've raised the ticket prices *again* and shaved off some of the rooms to make the haunt shorter. I come here every year, and it's one of the highlights of the year. I was disappointed to discover that their response to COVID is making the haunt shorter AND more expensive. Some of the coolest rooms were no longer available. I loved the tornado siren one, it was probably my favorite, and it's gone. One more thing to note: they are going INSANE with the fog!! I swear there's more fog every year. The place is already stuffy and dank, then they pack it full of fog and it ruins the experience. The coolest thing about Cutting Edge are the props and scenery, but there is now so much fog that you can't see the props anymore. I could see a faint outline of the things around me, but all of the awesome details are no longer visible. It's really frustrating. Pumping the entire place full of fog doesn't make it scary! My party left with headaches and stomach aches. I wanted to vomit the entire time from the stench of fog. Even the waiting rooms where you stand in line are full of the disgusting fog now. Please stop with the fog. You're not achieving what you think you are achieving. As for anybody reading this interested in going, just be weary that you're paying more than ever for less haunted house than ever. read more

Okay, so last year's was amazing. We were very scared and had a bunch of fun. This year, we did not have as much fun. First off, we had to pay $15 for parking. We did not pay for parking last year. Additionally, the parking was far away. Darkest Hour was AMAZING. It was way cheaper and much scarier. You also do not have to pay for parking. We will be going back to Darkest Hour in Plano next year. Another thing: it was very dark. I get that most haunted houses are dark. But, this was unreasonably dark and there weren't that many scares. I think they thought that they wouldn't need as many people working because it was so dark. They did not spread us out enough. The people behind us were bumping into us and we were bumping into the people in front of us. I'm very upset that I paid $43 plus $15 parking on this. read more

Let the jeers begin If you want to consider a good value for your money based on how "long" the haunted house is then this is a winner. Personally have been more frightened at the ranch near my house that does a small haunted house every year and for a third of the price. Don't get me wrong. If you get startled by someone surprising you in a mask then this is the place for you. I've been more scared watching a scary movie. But go ahead--I'm sure you're to try this once. read more
