I been to fright fest for three times this year as I took a break from gaming for 5 weeks and need something to fill in the time. With the new season pass and I got the all park passport one, you get a free flash pass per one ride and one Halloween band which you can access all of the Haunted Houses. I ended up doing 4 out of 8 houses. My advice is to do them early as the lines are short and did not wait for no longer than 15 minutes or wait till park closes. The haunted houses are alright. I am not into being scared, but decided to try them out as the lines were not long and I was curious to see if $50 dollars was even worth it. I would say it is not. I would say Cedar Fair parks do a better job at this, but when going through this there was a little scare here and there, but sort of glad it was not. I just wanted to see the thing. The park does get extremely crowded especially during Fright Fest so be prepared to wait in line. The good news is most of the rides are opened even the water rides. I rode the log ride late at night as the lines are very short like 15 minutes at most as some of the rides can be 1-2 hours. The food lines can be ridiculous too. I finally tried out the mobile online ordering for the first time and it was a disaster. I waited an hour to get my food and I saw others that waited in line and order get their food way faster. I did also the kiosk to order, but somehow it takes quite a bit 30 minutes and figuring out how to use your dining plan can be tricky and not obvious as it took me awhile to figure it out. I tried this out at Johnny Rocket's and JB BBQ and had the same experience. I did see their haunted show and it was alright, just a bunch of singing and dancing, but it was good place to relax. I had a good time overall and I did stay from opening to closing and time flew by quickly so I had no issues. I wanted to take a picture of the Looney Tunes characters, but I could not find them in their usual spot. read more

Was scary for sure, especially the little ones! During the day it is fine, but as it gets dark it changes. The scares come from out of nowhere unless you are watching closely. They are lead by a team lead that is dressed in all black. There isn't a lot of light from park, rides, or shops so they take position and start their act. And they are good at it!! I gave a 4 because I was with my grandlittles who were too young to appreciate their act! I did compliment one of the creatures on how fast they ran and how the sparks flew from their knee pads when they skidded to catch people! YIKES!!! read more

Park was too crowded and could not accommodate crowds. Expect to see 2 or 3 attractions only, with very long lines. Up to 3 hours for one attraction. Six Flags needs to go back to reservation system, because the cost does not justify the experience if you can't actually see the attractions. read more

I was looking forward to Fright Fest and boy was I so disappointed. I have to say it was not worth the money. Saw house was the boriness of all seem like they only had 1 character. Drove 5 hours with two kids to go to fright fest and it was so crowded we couldn't even get near the park. Waited in line for an hour and a half and the line never moved. Called to ask for a refund after spending $200 on tickets and was told there is a strict no refund policy even though there was NO access to the park. I paid $110 total for two to go into the haunted houses without knowing general admission was $80 more. It did not say on the website this was the case and then i show up to give them the ticket and they say it isn't valid. I go to customer supervise they say to go online more to buy it and was rude about it as well. in the end I just left and just took the L but i highly reccomend to NEVER come here for anything due to this experience. 0/10 if i could and haven't been to 6 flags in years and im really understanding why that is the case. read more

Came to fright fest yesterday with my husband. For me it is a bit over priced. 10 dollars per person per haunted house. Parking is 40 dollars. It was fun, but if I had not won the 6 flags tickets at an event I don't think it would have been worth it considering all the add on fees. read more

my daughter won tickets so didnt waste too much money. If I had I would've been screaming. They charge a hell of a lot of money for an extremely subpar experience. The scare zones had a grand total of 2 goblins. I was confused wondering when the scary stuff was coming. It never materialized. I didnt buy admission to the haunted houses because by the time I was thinking about it I concluded they were probably garbage. The parking was $30 in a grass field that had a clunky metal ramp to enter that using made me wonder if I was hurting my car somehow. Too crowded. The food sucked. went to the park on Saturday with three of my friends. We had an awful experience and I needed to share my concerns. When we got to the park we went to eat at the Oktoberfest BBQ station. There were only two young ladies working the sand by themselves. we waited around 45 minutes and when we got to the front they were out of everything on the menu except for two things. We ordered beer on tap and the girl said that that's just for looks and doesn't work. Once we received our food it was cold, we saw her grab the pretzel bun from the fridge. We then waited in line for the Joker, 30 minutes later it broke down . We hopped into the Batman line, where we waited an hour and a half. While we were waiting, we had over six groups of teenagers cut through the line. It was ridiculous that not a single staff member was in site. When we finally got to the top, we could tell that the reason the ride was going so slowly because it was completely ran by high school students. Not only were they being careless they were being extremely slow getting people off and on the ride. One worker made a joke that there was a bolt and a piece missing from the coaster. Another worker yelled to another worker that he was going slow. His reply was "I don't care." They also propped the back door open of the ride and they were constantly kids coming through and going directly to the front. Not a single worker was standing by the door. I get the lines being long when it is busy, but not because it is full of teenagers who are being careless, and slow. We arrived to the park around 5:30 and left at 11. We only got to ride one coaster. To make the night even worse it took about an hour to leave the parking. We spent $40 to park yet no one was directing traffic at the end of the night and the parking lot was crazy.. read more

What a shit show. It started with the longest wait to even get in the park.... And only got worse from there. Had a fast pass for the maze and park ride bundle.... Waste of money. The maze's were made for kids with random / barely no people there on a Saturday to deliver jumps and frights .... The area was also over crowded and the scare zones were below average.... 1 to 2 people operating / roaming during peak October. On top of this... every ride was about a 120 minute wait... no point of even going. Highly recommend you find something else this Halloween season. read more

This was our first year doing Fright Fest, and it was absolutely not worth it. First off it took us over an hour just to get a parking spot. And $40 for parking! There was way too many people crammed into this park, it felt like we were all packed in like sardines. We didn't pay for Haunted House packages, which thank god we didn't. $45 per person and the lines to each haunted house were too long it wouldn't have been worth it. But the scare zones?? That was the most disappointing. There were MAYBE 1-2 actors at each scare zone and we got scared maybe once...and we went through all of them. Did they had a shortage of actors or something? It's like they want to price gouge you in order to get a good scare. Some people can't afford the haunted house packages, so make up for it with good scare zones! Lot of waiting, lot of walking around trying to find things to do, we couldn't find any employees that were able to help us find where stuff was. And again the lines! My friend and I waited in the Batman ride for an hour, and that was the only ride we were able to do the whole night. Overall SFOT really needs to step their game up. We have been waiting patiently at the front of line and they repeatedly just let flash pass keep going ahead of us. Ehhhhh. I was super excited to finally to get to go fright fest but it was just A LOT. The traffic to get in was insane first of all. The lines to get in were INSANE! There were no workers directing so it was pure chaos. CHAOS!!!! We had to purchase an actual six flags ticket plus an additional ticket for fright fest. Plus I ended up getting fast pass, thank goodness. But it was super pricy. It took us like 45 min just to get in the park, which is insane. They had so many rides closed which was disappointing! There's literally no signage for the fast pass lines which is really confusing and frustrating. There were like no workers anywhere to ask for help. We were in the fast lane for the rides and no one even checked our tickets when we got the ride. So, it seems that if you can somehow find the secret hidden fast pass line you can just use it for free. We tried to do the same with the haunted house line but there's a wristband that you need. So, we had to go stand in line to show them we already paid for fast pass and to get a wristband. The same line is full of people trying to buy fast passes so that took another 15 minutes. The haunted houses are short but they definitely have the spooky factor and had me on my toes. I didn't like that a lot of park rides were closed which led to super long lines for the rides that were open even with fast pass sometimes. But the few rides that we did get on were really fun! This was our first visit to Six Flags over Texas. We brought our kiddos (ages 5, 4 and 2) to Six Flags during Fright Fest on Friday September 27. The park was open 6-11pm and we arrived shortly after 6pm. Getting into the park and through the gates, was a bit chaotic. Being our first visit, we would have loved to have a park map so we could navigate around the park. We didn't see any paper maps and the permanent park maps were few and far between. It got even more difficult to get around when it got dark. As for the actual Fright Fest... Unfortunately, the kids area WAS CLOSED. There were only a handful of other kid rides scattered throughout the park, most of which were also shut down. Our littlest got to ride 1 ride: a Batman rocket ship one, our 4 year old rode 2 and our oldest got to ride 4. Slightly disappointing. The Halloween decor was fun. The kids were a little frightened by some of the costumed characters, especially when the fake fog made it hard to see. We did like that the weekend we went allowed Season ticket holders to bring a guest! read more

Our whole family drove over 8 hours bought tickets to get in and was told to do the Diamond pass membership. They membership is not worth it and we are stuck for 12 months and miss lead. Here for 7 hours my kids did not get to ride 1 damn ride. They offer pass for 2 rides and they got rejected. It was my husband birthday and daughters. Brought my 89 year old Mom and could never get her food. Had to pay full price for drinks that was suppose to be half off. I will be contacting Corporate Office. If I only read the reviews prior to visiting. wasted $200 on tickets for me and my girlfriend. When we arrived we found out we had to pay additional $30 just to park our car, after waiting in bumper to bumper traffic at the front gate for one hour. They should be more like Disney and stay open 365 days of the year. Instead, they pack everybody in there like sheep, three days of the week and of course, those days are the peak hours of business for them. This is obviously a selfish and greedy move on their part. After arriving, we only had time to ride 2 rides, after waiting in line for one hour to ride the Riddler revenge, but they had to close it down because someone puked everywhere. So after two hours there, we then realized most of the good rides, if not all the rides begin closing down one hour prior, the parks closing. Tell me exactly how this benefits the consumer? I miss the good old days at Six Flags when I was 14. We'd get a season pass and go all summer, and not once did we ever have to pay to park the car. I'm done with Six Flags. Don't let them fool you. Save yourself a lot of money, hassle and stress, and go anywhere else in this world besides Six Flags. read more

Fright fest is FUN it does cost an extra $25-$35 for the haunted house but you get to go on a good 8-9 haunted houses there is about 6 scare zones throughout the park and they are all soo scary and will chase you which was the farthest ive sprinted so far. All of the scarers also allow you to take pictures with them . read more

This was my first Freight Fest! I had a blast and so did my boys. We go to Six Flags several times each summer. This time I was going for the haunted houses and Scare Zones. We have season passes so we only had to purchase the additional haunted houses passes that are $30 per person. I felt this was very reasonable since this is what it normally costs for one house and I'm getting 5 for the same price. My favorite haunted attraction was Black Out. The walls are painted black and the "scarers" were in all black including the face. It was awesome because you couldn't see them coming. The best part was when you first walk in you have to make your way through a Claustrophobia wall. This is the ultimate experience in claustrophobia! We felt constantly suffocated while squeezing between inflated fabric panels that were pushing against us. The other haunted houses had the themes of clowns, zombies, piggy's blood shed, and a morgue. They were all so much fun! read more

We spent about 5 hours here. My kids (5+4) had fun but they probably would have had the same amount of fun at a local fair for a fraction of the cost. Long lines, lots of traffic, lots of rides for their age were closed. Worst part was all the different meal plans make for very long lines, 30 minutes just to get some chicken strips. $300 for a family of four with small children is crazy. I've been to Six Flags several times this summer. I got a pass this year after my best friend begged me to do so because she loves this park so much. We arrived last night just before 6 PM because we were there for Fright Fest. She said these were some of the best haunted houses she had ever been too and I love haunted houses so I was excited. I was a bit irritated that I had to pay additional $34.99 to do the freight fest activities on top of my past however she said it was going to be worth it. Well I should've known better my previous experiences of the summer resulted in standing in line for hours going to where are you got on the rides mainly the roller coasters and then not being able to ride because the ride was shut down. Last evening we waited in line for the haunted houses all of which looks very cool only To be completely disappointment when going through. We basically walk through every single Hunt house without being scared once as there was no actors around to scare us. The decorations are great throughout the park as well enjoy the fog and the character actors as you walk through parts to the park. However the reason we were there was for the haunted houses and they were a complete disappointment. Once my contract is up for my pass this year I will not be renewing this because it really wasn't worth it in the end. read more

many rides closed. opening weekend seemed to be a crash. we got there around 5pm stayed till near 10:30pm. is as a group of 6 only seen 6-8 "goblins", 1 chain saw girl and a lot of fog. also for $35 more to get in a haunted house was a joke. better off paying and going to one outside Six Flags. The Fright Fest pass was an additional $34 and what made it even worst was that we upgraded to the Fright Fest Express pass for an additional $20 (around $50 per ticket). It said this will increase wait times by 90%! OK sounds great. Well...once we got there, there was no express lane. It was through one line and it was long. We even got out of some the lines because they were so long. My suggestion is to definitely not upgrade to the Fright Pass Express up sell. Kind of sorry they offer this during the sales process but don't have it setup when you get to their park. read more

This year was actually not too different from last year. Some of the haunted houses moved (due to some rides being torn down), but it was a pretty fun experience! The first haunted house we went to was the piggy's revenge. This is the one that you could tell they poured a ton of money into. Really high quality set design, make up, good use of technology, etc. And it really took you into this back story of the butcher shop. It smelled like old bacon too which was a nice touch. If you go to none of the others, at least visit this one. The second is a clown one... forget what it's called. It was neat because it's 3-D. You put on your glasses, and the paint inside is 3-D painting. So it's cool to see how that came together. I wasn't so much scared by the clowns, but it was fun. The third was an insane asylum. This one was pretty scary, but mainly because it was gory. People being cut open, trapped in cages, tortured, etc. Creepy kind of stuff. The last one was with pirates, and was meant for the kids that have just grown up enough to enter the "big kid" side of the park. It wasn't super scary, but the usual stuff like people following you, jumping out, a lot of smoke effects, etc. Not bad at all. Overall? Not a bad time. And if you don't go into the haunted houses, there are still "scary people" walking around and such, so it'll be a good time. They've got trivia and music on the main stage up front, the ride lines are short, and it's just an all around fun time to go! Plus the weather's not bad either! read more

Fright Fest this year was a big disappointment. As an avid six flag's member, my family and I have always visited six flags year-round. We always enjoy the atmosphere and all the detail and time that six flags puts into their seasonal shows, attractions, displays. However, this year things did not feel the same. There were less zombie characters walking around engaging with guests, and less of that interactive Halloween feel that we usually look forward to and enjoy. Numerous of concession stands were closed. Every other stand was so busy, lines were backed up and super long. Lines were blocking the walk way for other guest just trying to walk by. Lots of stores that are typically open were closed. All of the lights were off in the area where concession stands and stores were closed on the right side of the park in and around the Superman ride. read more

The New Texas Giant should have a lot more order for the Members with a Flash Pass. It's has been unorganized everything we have visited there. everyone is able to just cut in line when they feel like it. Also the Superman did not have the Flash Pass as a priority either. read more

Fright fest was not worth the hype at all I was really excited for how it was advertised but there was nothing Halloween about it. Only the entrance was decorated and they had like two "scare zones" which consisted of 2 people dressed in a costume. A majority of the rides like the roller coasters were shut down so you're either forced to wait about an hour to two hours for a ride or buy a "fright pass" which is an additional 30 dollars for a two second haunted house. read more

I just bought my 2011 season pass for Six Flags and can enjoy fright fest a many times as I want AND holiday in the park AND all next year. You really can't beat that deal. The park is clean, the food is meh and the costumed creatures are spooky. The Howl show has good singing by zombies but the music selections were not Halloween themed which was weird to me. I didn't do the haunted house because my five year old is chicken so I can't comment on that. I'm sure I will be back a few more times before the Halloween season ends. read more

Don't waste your time and money. You'll be losing buckets of both if you go here. Fright Fest itself doesn't even start until 7pm, and even then, there wasn't much of a Halloween vibe going on compared to years past. I only saw two spooky characters walking around while I there. Maybe they were on the rides. There were no shows. There were only very small pockets of areas where there was fog. The park was decorated with stuff, but there wasn't a real Halloween atmosphere. They had Haunted Houses, but you have to pay quite a bit extra to go in to them, EVEN IF YOU ARE A SEASON PASS HOLDER! That's just wrong. If you don't pay for the Haunted Houses, it's just a regular Six Flags time for you. Lines in the Parking Lot to get in and get out were ridiculous, and there are lines EVERYWHERE no matter what you are doing, including the Restrooms. When you add up everything you are spending, and all your time waiting, it's a complete waste. If you want a true Halloween Experience, go to someplace like Screams. I don't want people to throw away a boatload of money and be miserable going to this. If you're a Season Ticket Holder, they are guilty of false advertising since the Fright Fest activities aren't free for you either. read more

This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at Six Flags. We paid full price for tickets, fast pass, and express pass for the haunted houses. All in all over $600 for this experience. The park decided to pack as many people in which made the $95 fast pass useless (which is why I thought buying the fast pass would be beneficial). We waited 45 minutes for drinks/food. I completely understand it's a Saturday night during Fright Fest but the park needs to do a better job of either cutting the park admissions price in half or not allowing THAT many people in. General parking was $40 which led to us parking in the very back of the lot. I had a better time watching the drama going on the parking lot with people getting arrested and acting like dumbasses than I did inside the actual park. If I could give this rating a negative I would. I would not recommend coming here. read more

There's 5 haunted houses, a stage show at the carrousel and scare areas after 7 p.m. The best was probably Piggy's blood shed but none of them were all that great in my opinion. For kids and people that scare easily, they would all be good except the one over by the Titan (combat zone). I gave it a 3 because it did scare my son a little bit and our friends son but outside of that, there's only one scare zone in the park that was good and the rest was lame. If you scare easily then you will like the scares but if not, spend your money on haunted houses somewhere else. read more

Got here right around 6 when everything opened there was absolutely no people in costumes there was nothing frightening about this , half of the rides were down ! Waited in. Rides and haunted houses just go together, like peas and carrots, and Fright Night at Six Flags flaunts this combination. Both rides and haunted houses can be scary and get the adrenaline going, and a good amusement park is all about adrenaline. The haunted houses at Six Flags are fun to go through with a group of friends, and the actors at the park have a lot of fun with their scare tactics. In fact, your more likely to have an employee who is not part of a haunted house be the one who scares the pee out of you. This is also a good time of year to visit the park, as it's not sweltering hot. However, y'all know Six Flags is expensive, so save up your babysitting money before you go. It's also good to know that only Children under 12 are allowed to wear a costume to Fright Night, and they can't be "scary" or "gore" costumes. They also can't wear masks. WTF? When did Fright Night get sissified? Despite the amount of money you'll drop and the wussy costume rules, Fright Fest is fun. Stats: 2 pants peed. read more
