One of the most generic menus I've ever seen and would expect a lot more from a place like this. I also thought the cups used to be glass but most of them were the plastic cups you get at a diner. They still had glass cups for more specialty drinks like wine and coffee but soda and water were in plastic. I was also pretty sure they used to have cloth napkins and those are gone too. I feel like this place is too expensive to skimp on little details like that. Staff is still great but they seemed really overwhelmed and we did also show up pretty late so I can't blame them for being gassed This place is beautiful, they had someone playing the piano and it was a really nice atmosphere, but like I said I hope they're just transitioning between menus and dishwater because this visit was super disappointing.

Cafeteria food is the correct way to describe this food, poorly prepared and poorly served. It's southern in the way that the people working their are grumpy and unfriendly like most southerners are. Things have started feeling different--the atmosphere is less welcoming than it used to be. On a recent visit, there was some confusion regarding the corned beef hash. I was previously told they were out of corned beef (which implied it was homemade), only to find it was canned on a subsequent visit. When I politely asked about this, and about why the dish was served with an additional side of hash browns--which contained onions and peppers that I am allergic to--the interaction became uncomfortable. The conversation with our waiter took an unexpected turn when he asked if we were "Yankees." When I confirmed we were from the North, he remarked, "It figures," and accused me of having an "attitude" when I merely questioned the menu composition. The experience concluded at the register. When we were charged 79 cents for extra salsa instead of the 50 cents we were quoted, an older woman stepped in. When I politely pointed out the price discrepancy, she was dismissive and snotty, turning her back on us while we were still speaking. When I asked about "the customer is always right," it was clear service--and kindness--no longer seemed to be a priority. It is disheartening because the food has historically been consistent, and we truly miss the days when staff like Ami made us feel welcome. I am not writing this for a refund or a correction; I simply wanted to share my perspective. Everyone has a bad day, but to lose a long-time customer over such a minor interaction is a shame. While I personally won't be returning after being treated that way, I still hope those who enjoy the food continue to support the business. I just hope that, moving forward, the team remembers that kindness matters as much as the meal itself.
