1st two things.....I do not like the noise of the chairs. Need rubber on leg bottoms!!! I also cannot stand the noise and looks of cleaning the trays. This is one of my family's go to spot but I just think it is okay. Ordered food to bring home. The cheese steak sandwich is good but nothing fantastic. I have had better. The onion rings were okay. I asked for a side salad and almost died laughing when I saw a tiny amount of lettuce, and one cherry tomato. All I could ask was, and how much did you pay for this? Stopped by for lunch at the recommendation of a friend - it was the epitome of what you expect going to your granny's house Sunday after church! Everything was packed with flavor! The breading on the catfish and chicken was light and crispy, and didn't leave you with the typical heaviness from fried food. I haven't been here in nearly 7 years and the place has not changed. It serves Southern/soul food classics such as greens (turnips this time), black eyed peas, and fried chicken. We always get the fried chicken meal, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, turnip greens, or collard greens. Each meal comes with plenty of food for a great price! Their ice is the bomb and ladies come around and refill your tea or water. The only complaint I have is the food is lukewarm and the vegetables are always cold. Ambiance: This place has been packed and I still have found seating. However, I try to go no later than 11am or after 2pm to avoid the lunch frenzy. This place is full of memories and great ones at that. The walls are filled with memorabilia and pictures regarding the area and I feel the people inside are a reflection of that. The customers as well as the people who run this restaurant are a family and it's enjoyable to experience. On top of all of this... the food is so so yummy! Cutts is a MUST. I went there for the chili cheese dogs and WOW. They aren't amazing by themselves BUT! the atmosphere and the people make them amazing. Did I mention they are cheap? I had a great meal for $8. Just go in, skip the cafeteria line and go to the counter. A nice lady will take your order and bring it to your table. The sweet tea was great too.
