Lastly, there are also trails that go through the sports complex so a good place to park for a hike or a walk with a dog. Lastly, there is a mound that serves as a natural seating location for watching soccer or football games. It's also generally pretty organized, which goes a long way when you're dealing with multiple leagues and games going on at once. That said... they're making some seriously questionable decisions right now. They decided to install solar panels during one of the busiest times of the year, which has cut the parking lot in half. So now everyone's forced to park on nearby streets--which would be fine, except the signage is confusing at best and borderline impossible to interpret at worst. To make things worse, police have suddenly started patrolling the area constantly and handing out tickets like crazy. I've been coming here for years and never seen ticketing like this before--it honestly feels like shooting fish in a barrel. And yes, they'll even ticket you for not curbing your wheels. Between the reduced parking, unclear street rules, and aggressive enforcement, it really feels like a cash grab--and it's frustrating for people who are just trying to show up and play. All that said, I still appreciate having this complex. It's a great spot for both softball and soccer, and when things are running smoothly, it's a really enjoyable place to play. Bottom line: great facility, but right now the parking situation is a mess. Plan ahead... or risk leaving with more than just a loss on the field.

Chevy Chase Country Club was incredibly responsive and helpful from the very beginning, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. When we toured the Oak Grove ceremony space and learned we'd have access to a bridal suite for the day, we were SO excited. When we first visited, Matthew and Amy showed us around. The ENTIRE country club is so beautiful, from the Oak Grove and Cypress Trees to the staircases. As we became more serious about booking and completely fell in love with the space, Silvana and Ruben were quick to respond and provided a detailed meeting and breakdown of everything. The packages were clear and informative, and they were always willing to accommodate our needs. When Cassidy took over for the rehearsal and day-of coordination, she was absolutely amazing. She was extremely responsive via email, attentive to every detail, and even addressed things we didn't think to ask about. During the rehearsal and on the wedding day, she coordinated everything so seamlessly that both our families and we felt completely at ease thanks to her calm and supportive presence. She truly cared about making our day special, and it showed in every detail. Our family members were so impressed by the venue, accommodations, and staff that they're already talking about hosting future events here. Thank you, Cassidy and team. We highly recommend this venue and hope to be back again soon! :)

Prior to joining this gym I had gained about 20lbs from life... Diana is throughly helping me with my weight loss journey. I have never felt better in my body as I do now. I am stronger and the food noise has diminished. Not only has she coached on weightlifting/ strength training but has also coached me on my diet. Lastly, I look forward to every session I have booked with Diana, she makes a special tailored program for my needs / goals and is flexible / adaptable with scheduling. Front Desk/ locker room I am always greeted with a smile from the front desk personnel. The bathroom / locker room is always tidy. The bonus for me is that they provide parking validation for the parking structure. I am always able to find a parking spot get in and out without a hiccup. Joining Equinox and getting support from my terrific trainers (first Talar, and now Hank) really changed my experience of fitness, my body, and my life. I am now a personal trainer evangelist, and have convinced my partner and others to get training. As for this facility, I find it to be convenient, clean, and very rarely crowded. I almost never have to wait on any particular equipment. The few classes I have taken here (mostly yoga) have been a nice change of pace as well. And, as I mentioned, the training has been a game changer. It's not cheap, but I think the quality of the facilities and service is excellent (and I'm fortunate to get a discount through my work!).

Most of the time it's ok, however some machines they clearly need more of. For example, the row machine (they have only one of) and pec fly machine (they have two). These you can almost guarantee that there will be a line. Cables. Lines are manageable but there is a bigger issue. Half the time there are literally no attachments. At times there will be say two triceps ropes and a single bar between the 6 cables to share. So, not only not enough variety of attachments (which is also true), but at times literally not enough to even have any kind of attachment on all the cables. I don't know if people take them to the private training area (which is not accessible to normies) or whatever they do with it, but it's very common at this gym and a deal breaker issue, I'd say. Sauna - insanely nasty. Horrible. Feels very unsanitary. I used it twice and both times my freshly washed towel, that I used there to sit on, caught this horrible stink of probably hundreds of peoples' sweats soaked in the wood of the sauna benches. I would've probably caught hepatitis A through Z had I not used the towel (half-joking). Still on the subject of sauna - not necessarily exclusive to this gym, but most people don't know sauna etiquette. They go in, wearing their sweaty shoes and clothes and do freaking sit ups and other crap in there, resulting in all of us sitting in heat and breathing in their stinky body and unwashed sweaty clothes evaporates. To those people, learn some manners and look up sauna etiquette before using it next time, that is nasty and you are just being an a**hole, with all due respect. That is not good for you or anyone around you. To the gym management - maybe print out sauna etiquettes and post them in a few places where sauna users can see? Have rules of use, just like you do for everything else? Overall, not ideal, but compared to some other gyms within walking distance it is at least usable.

But from the very beginning, my child was welcomed with open arms, kindness, and genuine encouragement. He loves being part of the team and looks forward to it every single week. He's excited to see his coaches and his friends, and that alone means the world to us. Every child truly gets to play--everyone runs the bases, learns about the game, and is celebrated for their effort. The atmosphere is fun, relaxed, and supportive, which makes it such a positive experience. One of my favorite added touches is that someone is there taking professional photos and sharing them in a weekly recap. Seeing those moments captured is incredibly special and just shows how much care goes into this program. It's clear that the people organizing and coaching this T-ball program put an incredible amount of love, effort, and dedication into what they do. We are so grateful to have found a program that values inclusion, joy, and teamwork the way this one does. Highly recommend to any family looking for a kind, welcoming, and fun sports experience.

Instead, the kids played Duck Duck Goose and Simon Says. That is not what I paid for. When I reached out, I received a very polished email full of apologies and corporate language, but zero accountability that actually mattered. They offered a **$20 program credit** which I never asked for as if that makes up for a session where my child didn't touch a single volleyball in a *volleyball* class. I find it insulting, not generous. If there's an equipment issue, pick up the phone. Send a text. Give parents the option to make other arrangements. Don't just wing it with playground games and hope no one notices. And when a parent raises a valid concern, don't respond with a cookie-cutter email and a token credit that feels like a brush-off. Save your money and find a program that actually communicates with parents and respects their time.

After spending several years in club volleyball across multiple clubs in the San Gabriel Valley,,…read moreour family can honestly say that Stormbreaker has been the best overall club experience we've had. What makes Stormbreaker different is that it was specifically created to solve frustrations that parents and players commonly experience in club volleyball. One of the biggest issues in club volleyball is roster size. Many clubs carry 12-14 players, meaning some girls spend large portions of tournaments on the bench, players worry about being substituted out after mistakes, and teammates feel like competitors fighting for the same playing time. Stormbreaker intentionally keeps rosters smaller, typically around 9-10 players. The girls are not only on the court more often, but they have a defined role and purpose. They are part of every match and rotation rather than wondering if they will see the floor. That consistency allows players to develop confidence through real game experience instead of constantly worrying about being replaced. Another major difference is training volume. Most clubs provide two practices per week. Stormbreaker provides three, plus additional opportunities for clinics, scrimmages, and position-specific development. More touches, more repetitions, and more feedback lead to more growth. Practices are also structured differently. Stormbreaker often has multiple teams training simultaneously with four or more coaches actively involved. Athletes are divided into position groups. Setters with setting coaches, hitters with hitting coaches, liberos on defense and serve receive, middles on middle-specific skills. The specialized instruction and repetition the girls receive is dramatically higher than what we experienced elsewhere. Stormbreaker also has something most clubs don't offer: a dedicated strength and athletic development area called The Vault. The girls participate in structured conditioning sessions focused on athleticism, explosiveness, core strength, injury prevention, and volleyball-specific performance. We've personally watched players become stronger, jump higher, and gain confidence over a single season. We also appreciated that development was built into the club experience rather than requiring constant outside lessons. Between three practices, specialized coaching, strength training, clinics, and additional opportunities for extra reps, our daughter received far more development within the program itself than we experienced elsewhere. Stormbreaker is also not built around a single coach. Jonathan, the club director, is deeply involved and genuinely cares about players and families. He has invested tremendous time studying collegiate, Olympic, and high-level volleyball development systems so coaches work from a shared philosophy. Unlike many clubs where your experience depends almost entirely on one coach, Stormbreaker has worked to build a consistent developmental system. The goal is that players continue progressing regardless of which coach they have because the training philosophy, skill development priorities, and expectations are shared across the club. What impressed me most, however, is the culture. The emphasis is not only on volleyball skills but on character, confidence, resilience, leadership, and personal growth. The club's mission and core values show up in how coaches interact with players, how families support one another, and how girls are encouraged to grow as athletes and young people. Our own team faced plenty of challenges. We had players learning new positions, several first-year club athletes, and periods of instability that could have derailed development. Instead, we watched the girls improve dramatically. They became more skilled, more confident, more competitive, and more resilient. Our daughter gained meaningful court time, developed confidence, and grew more in a single season than we expected. More importantly, she genuinely looked forward to practices and finished the season loving the game even more than when she started. We've spoken with many families from other Stormbreaker teams, and our experience is not unique. Parents consistently share that their daughters improved more in one season than in previous years elsewhere. No club is perfect, and Stormbreaker is still growing. But it was intentionally built to address problems many families have simply accepted as normal in club volleyball. They created an environment where athletes can develop, compete, build confidence, and genuinely enjoy the game. For our family, the difference has been significant, and we are grateful for everything our daughter gained this season both on and off the court.
