During the last six months the telephone system was screwed up. For each prescription I wanted to refill, I would use the phone to leave the script number and the recording would say it was incorrect and I had to speak with a staff member. It was an annoyance but tolerable. I was going there at least once a month and didn't know until my brother told me the pharmacy had permanently closed the day after I picked up my prescriptions. Why on earth didn't the pharmacist tell me that when I was there. Later I learned a lot of people in the community weren't told of the closing. Pretty low way to thank the people that patronized your establishment.

During my most recent visit, I was clearly sick, holding a box of DayQuil/NyQuil while trying to pick up a prescription. Instead of asking how he could help, he immediately (and condescendingly) told me I'd need to purchase the medicine downstairs--assuming I wasn't there for a prescription at all. That kind of dismissive attitude is the last thing you want to deal with when you're already not feeling well. Customer service training feels long overdue. A pharmacy should be a place of care, not condescension. Thankfully, I've since found a local pharmacist just a few blocks away who takes my insurance and treats people with kindness. That's where I'll be going from now on.

I was recently surprised to find that HVPharm was the specialty pharmacy making specialized eye drops for my mother who lives an hour away. I was able to contact The pharmacy twice with my parent's questions and talk right to the my personal pharmacist who had made the drops. Only negatives: because they are small, you sometimes need to go elsewhere or wait (if you can) until the next day for less common Rxs. They do not have the hours of big chain pharmacies if you get an emergency night or weekend script.

When they were unable to fill my meds because of an unusual shortage, they called every commercial pharmacy in Howard County to see if they had the meds. They treated my elderly mother with respect and compassion that I'd lost faith in. The pharmacist himself delivered critical meds after his delivery team had gone for the day. The pharmacist should be training other pharmacists in the art of caring for patients. They carry hard to find products and conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity. I wish them success. I found the service not very friendly.At first I thought this is an all business no small talk place. I can deal with that. But I drew the line when I needed a pain med. The doctor sent the prescription their way. I waited no text saying it was ready. I call. They assure me they would text as soon as all my meds were ready. I shared the pain med was most important. Waited all day no text. Next day I call and had been told it was sitting there waiting for me the day before. That is what makes me give this pharmacy a bad review. Employees of a pharmacy should be sensitive that they are dealing with people who are having physical problems and be most considerate to them.
