Had my prescription for two items sent here by urgent care centre. Arrived and confirmed with staff I wanted both items. I took a seat and waited. 15mins later the staff wondered i whether I was waiting on prescription which was a bit strange. Then 5 mins later they said it was ready. They only prepared one item and I told them I wanted both. Asked to take a seat again. Another 10mins they came back and said they didn't have the other item in stock. Would have been nice they would have said so in the first place rather than try to send me off with one item when two were requested. Considering they made a guy in crutches have to go back and forth to the counter to go over their errors, it's fair to say that was far from ideal. It honestly seems counterintuitive to leave a review being that their rating is so low and the standards there are just awful. And I don't necessarily mean from a service standpoint because I feel great empathy for the employees. It's the company's lack of care for the customer experience overall. From pharmacy to convenience store, they are terrible. Overpriced, out of stock, under trained, unreliable, inconsistent, and do not care. Selling bad gift cards, damaged goods, expired convenience grabs like milk (if they have it in stock) and expired health care and wellness vitamins and supplements. It's deplorable! You never know if your item was merchandised correctly so always have to triple check the size and brand against the signage, can't trust that it is going to ring up at the correct price. They're the only drive thru pharmacy left since Walgreens and Rite-Aid both closed but it is hit or miss whether it's open or not. The phone system is terrible, literally impossible to speak directly with a human and they have the worst inventory control ever. Can't keep 4x6 photo paper in stock for their very busy 1 hour photo business... More importantly, they're out of prescription medication all the time too. How irresponsible to be out of stock on life-saving prescriptions, especially for patients who have regularly monthly refills that are easily tracked by a POS system. They should never be out of stock unless all manufacturers are out of stock but it happens all of the time. Planning systems easily predict buying needs to near perfection, evading loss and keeping stores stocked even in the event of an influx of use. Why aren't patients needs top priority? And why is the restock time unpredictable and unreliable and often requiring the patient to follow up via a phone system that doesn't work?! As one of the largest Distributors of drugs, having bought up so much market share why aren't they being held accountable to responsible health care? Gelsons was amazing... closed. Vons was great.... Closed I really don't like anything CVS because of how much joy & time I know they're going to suck from me every time. They even make shopping for greeting cards miserable. It used to be so easy refilling a prescription but now with this virtual assistant that keeps telling me I don't have any RXs to refill it is impossible. I had to call the 800 # and give them the RX number and have them order it. She said the best alternative is to call and leave a message and they will call me back. Looks to me like they are always extremely busy so now they want everyone to call and request a call back. Does not sound very efficient to me. The progress is reversing. read more

BEWARE OF CVS ON RANCHO SANTE FE (By Vons) I went to get my flu shot and the pharmacist asked if I wanted the Covid vaccine as well. I politely said no thank you and expected him to leave it. He kept pushing and I basically just smiled and was like thanks but no thanks. Just not for me! No judgement if it's for you. Anyways, I went into the little room to get my FLU shot and the lady poked me twice. I asked "did you give me two vaccines?" She said "yes, flu and Covid." I was so stunned I just said okay thank you and left. I assume the pharmacist put me in the system for Covid and flu vaccines. I honestly feel like I had my choice taken away. My issue was not with the pharmacy but with a coupon that my wife sent to my phone via email. I am in my 70's and not that adept at opening and bringing up such coupons. A clerk who was busy with other customers directed me to Steve, the manager. Steve was able to open the coupon on my phone and informed me that the coupon had expired, but nevertheless offered to honor it. Thank you Steve for your assistance and customer service. read more

For the second year in a row, I've come here for my flu short. It's very convenient and the pharmacist is the one that gives you the injection. He was very gentle and I didn't bruise and have swelling as I've had in the past from my doctor's office. They also informed me of the new 2 series shingles shots that I qualify for. I needed to double check with my doctor if I had the first series yet. Will definitely get my shots here. I'm bringing in different family members for their flu shots as they don't feel as comfortable going to the doctor right now. read more

CVS deliberately understaffs the pharmacy/store at EVERY location, including this Carlsbad. As a result, The pharmacy and staff are overworked and the drive-through is almost never open. This is not an accident. I've spoken with dozens of CVS employees for years throughout Southern California. CVS corporate deliberately understaffed all of their locations to make an extra buck at the expense of patient care. They push dozens of vaccines on for profit versus refilling prescriptions and/or being available for patients. CVS changed their pharmacy phone system, so it is impossible to speak with a pharmacist or staff member by phone. The only option is to get a callback, which is temporarily not working as well. I was told that my prescriptions would be ready in a few minutes, two days ago; but they are still not ready and I've wasted an hour and 40 minutes of my time this morning trying to get an update. Just waiting for that call back. I'm sure it'll happen anytime now. Shame on CVS corporate and I honestly feel bad for their employees. read more

Wow... new changes to save the company money are definitely in play. You can no longer reach the pharmacy directly without leaving a voicemail and having them call you back. Additionally, at the front of the store they no longer have somebody up there waiting to check you out, you have to hit a button which 50% of the time appears to be misplaced to get somebody that's doing something else in another part of the store to come and ring you up. Will be transferring my prescriptions elsewhere. read more

CVS is having a problem with efficiency in handling the needs of this community. The pharmacists on duty are often overwhelmed and are not equipped to adequately address customers concerns or get the prescriptions completed in a timely manner. Communication between the customer service representative is sadly lacking in any authority or help when trying to get any kind of help. read more

This pharmacy never, and I say never, gets my prescription right. To make things worse they are almost always grumpy. I get that it may not be an easy work environment, but management needs to address this. To see how it's done correctly, spend 15 minutes at the Vons pharmacy 1/2 mile away. The absolute worst people on the planet!! I get my prescriptions here because they have a drive thru so I never have to go inside. I have COVID so I came to pick up plaxovid. I planned on going through the drive-through so that I wouldn't infect anyone. The sign said Covid Testing only. And it was closed. How stupid is that first of all they would rather have people that have Covid for sure come inside the store, then go through the drive-through. What the heck . So I had to walk inside with my pajamas on, and no shoes. I have never done that and the rude, cruel evil patrons of that store literally snickered at me. Every employee was rude wouldn't answer my questions ... etc... They told me in the most sarcastic and rude way that my Doctor called in the dosage wrong. I called my Doctor and asked him to call the pharmacy back, and me and said he's been on hold for over 15 minutes and they have an answered. I am about to cry. I don't know if anyone reading this has ever had Covid and had a really bad reaction to it but I have. I have nobody to pick up my prescriptions for me. They don't deliver prescriptions to me on Sundays anyway never thought it would be such a horrible experience but every time I go there there's a problem and the people there are so rude. Came through for my mother's COVID vaccine. The vaccination area was very large, clean and welcoming. Chairs were properly spaced spaced 6 feet apart and the entire process seemed well organized! We were in and out in 30 minutes. Were even given a 20% off coupon to shop around while waiting for our vaccine appointment. I have definitely visited much worse stores, but if this is in your neighborhood, it is definitely worth a stop for basic necessities. read more

I used this CVS for my prescriptions as it was the closet to me. There were several challenges around that however this review is for the NP I saw at the Minute Clinic. I had one of the best doctor visits with Andrea Grayson and recommend anyone in the area that needs any medical assistance to be seen by her. I went to urgent care a week prior and was still having difficulty breathing. I wanted to avoid the ER and Urgent Care at all costs. I was told the minute clinic is the next best option. You can schedule your visit right online and have the same type of treatment with the exception of X-rays. Andrea was thorough and knowledgeable. She had amazing bedside manner and really took the time to go through my symptoms. I went back in February and forgot to write this review. Luckily I was able to log onto mychart through CVS.com and was reminded of this visit. CVS is really lucky to have Andrea onboard as an employee and patient care specialist. read more

This store is extremely convenient to my house. Just down the street. As others have mentioned, parking can be a bit of a problem. It's a relatively small lot that also houses a restaurant, nail salon, vet, hair salon and little real estate office. From that alone, it's probably barely enough to cover the employees. The store itself seems to be fine. A decent selection of goods on the shelves and the essential over the counter meds that every family needs now and then. The most convenient fact about this location is the drive through pharmacy window. This helps alleviate the parking problem a bit. Pharmacy staff have been friendly and informative when needed. read more

We asked a worker who was on duty, and she helped us find the right earphone quickly. Thanks to her, I was able to drop him off at his school on time and purchase the correct earphone. I have a newborn baby and sometimes I have trouble picking up medications. I'm also extremely sleep deprived, and I need to sleep whenever I can. I procrastinate on everything else so I can sleep. But this was the last day I could get my medications, so I sacrificed a nap to go. Sure, I could have come earlier, but it's not always easy. I have to wait for my husband to come home from work, and I don't want to wait in line with a newborn because he's always hungry and I'm not about to run out and feed my baby while in line, and I'm certainly not going to make him wait to eat. Not their problem I guess. I could have gone inside, but when you get into the drive through it's too late, you're trapped. So I roll up to their drive-through pickup line at 5:45, right on the cusp of them closing. There are three cars ahead of me. They all get their medications or whatever. It takes a while. The person in front of me was being taken care of after 6. I had been in line for over 20 minutes at this point. I would have usually left but that day was the last day I could get my stuff, and also there's no way out of the drive through anyway until you reach a certain point in line, which is only one car length behind the service window, so you might as well just stay. They finish with the person in front of me, I roll up. They were closing the frikkin window gate. There was no one behind me. It would have taken less than a couple minutes to get my freaking medications. So I sat there, mouth a gape, sleep deprived and upset. Then someone over the intercom says: "We close at 6." That's it. No "sorry" or anything. I had arrived before 6, and it wasn't my fault that I was stuck there and had no choice but to stay 20 effing minutes, and the people in front of me took forever, and none of this was my fault. Not their problem I guess. This review, however, is their problem. Man, you guys really, really suck. I switched pharmacies that very next day. Don't use these guys, seriously. read more

THE WORST MANAGED CVS. During the pandemic, I chose this CVS to handle my prescriptions since this specific CVS has a drive-thru and it is near my home. Over two months ago I found their drive-up service extremely slow, and most recently, their slow service became even slower. No one should have to wait more than 20 minutes with only four cars in line. And once I was in their single lane drive-thru, there was no way to exit the line with cars in front and in back of my car-- a truly frustrating experience. The store manager on duty I called from my car while in line was of no help ("We're shorthanded.") which was the same answer I received over two months ago. Their district manager never returned my call when I tried reaching her a few months ago about a similar situation. I have no complaints about the pharmacy staff since they were overwhelmed with all their orders (as witnessed through their drive-thru window while waiting). I blame the management at this CVS and I blame their district manager for failing to remedy what is apparently a chronic and insufficient staffing problem in their pharmacy. Even a pharmacist at a nearby store has heard about the inexcusably slow service from some transferring pharmacy customers regarding this Rancho Santa Fe CVS. read more

I always have challenges with this CVS filling prescriptions timely. Today I am especially disappointed as I am pretty sick and urgent care sent prescriptions over at 6:11 pm last night. I have still be unable to get them filled or acknowledged 16 hours later. I keep trying to call to make sure they have the script and the phone just keeps hanging up on me. Ordered 2 prescriptions refills yesterday through their automated phone guy - I call him the male Siri. He indicated one had been automatically refilled 4 days ago on the monthly anniversary of the scrip. He said the other one would be ready by 1 pm. I went to the pharmacy today to pick them up. She checked and said neither of the prescriptions had been processed. I told her what male Siri told me and she said she would order them but they wouldn't be ready until later in the day. She closed by saying "We're doing our best." I commented that their best seemed to be pretty low quality to me. My grudge isn't with the pharmacy staff; if you've been in one lately, it's obvious they are understaffed and overworked. My complaint is with the inability to be able to talk to a real person when ordering a refill. It's obvious that their automated system dropped the ball on both of my scrips in this instance. And this isn't the first time. I guess I can resign myself to having to visit the pharmacy twice for each refill (once to find out that their ai system failed again; and once to finally get the meds), or, maybe I'll start going to a pharmacy that does things the old-fashioned way with real people. read more

This CVS pharmacy is terrible. Find another location to fill your script. In the recent months they were not able to fill a common drug. Tonight went to pick up scripts for family member. Had to return to store to pick up most important antibiotic as they did not fill it! When I arrived they had closed. I begged them to help me as antibiotic was necessary to treat infection. "We are closed." " You need to go to a 24 hour location". My reply was , " Please help me, where is a 24 hour?" The male pharmacy tech laughed & said you have to look it up. The pharmacy went so far downhill. I've been waiting three weeks to get a prescription refilled, they keep promising me it will be in within a week and it's never there. It's my fault for not moving the prescription in the first place but I've been using them for more than 10 years. The wait to talk to someone in the pharmacy has been 30 to 45 minutes lately. I've sat at the drive-through for 20 minutes with nobody coming to the window. I am promised a prescription to be filled within two hours. I give them an extra hour yet they still aren't ready and I have to come back later. Even then after three week wait I can't get all 90 pills my doctor wrote a prescription for, I can only get the 57 that they have and must waive the rest bc they can't get a standard medication in. Time to look for a new pharmacy. read more

RE: RAPID TESTING APPT I ran by this place the day before to make sure of the location; had all the necessary paperwork for my appt. Next day: I got there 35 minutes early in case there were any construction and traffic in the morning. Had the pleasure of working with NP Ernst. Professional. efficient, calm and clear instructions. NP Ernst asked for all the necessary paperwork before starting the Rapid Testing. I asked a few questions before starting: 1. How long would this take? Answer: 15 minutes 2. When will I get my results? Answer: Verbal 10-15 minutes 3. What about a written document? Answer: Few hours (received the text msg in 3-hrs & 20 mins by texted message) Very happy with the results. I can now see my mom at assisted living. I was in quarantined for 5 days until I got my RAPID Test Result. Thank you for making it so easy to schedule the Rapid Test appt. read more
