This review is for Snapfish photos and CVS. Snapfish is an easy online database for your digital photos. You can easily create albums and chronologically file your albums. They partnered with Costco since Costco eliminated their photo department. Snapfish has a new policy in 2024 in which you have to make purchases every 18 months or they close your account. You can make hard copy prints and pick up at your CVS photo at $0.42 a print vs Walmart at $0.12 a print for similar quality. CVS at this store seems short on services and people, had to wait at least 10" after I asked for someone to service the photo area. Seems like cashiers are nonexistent and self checkout ms have replaced them. read more

When I asked her why and is it because they don't have it in stock, this B told me that they do have it in stock but they have some policy I can't pick it up here. What? NO, switched to a different pharmacy. This pharmacy is worse that bad at customer service, they are actually negligent and incompetent. I had a prescription that was at a set dose. When the a variation of the same med (XR) was prescribed by my Dr., they only filled HALF of my prescription (the XR part) and then KEPT the other dosage while claiming that I should only get half according to them. Waited in line patiently for 30 min. RX wasn't ready. No surprises there as this pharmacy is thee worst. They paged me it was ready, waited additional 60 full minutes in pick up line (One hour after they said it was ready). Mentioned how I had to wait in line twice and the blonde lady behind the counter said to me ...Wait for it... (I am not kidding)...."Simmer down!" Complete disbelief of this rude behavior as i was calm and expressing the confusion of the pick up line. Never again. So weird, I went to pick up my child's RX, they were out of stock, I asked the pharmacist if they knew if any other CVS had the medication in stock. They looked it up and shared the address. A couple months later, same thing, out of stock, I asked the pharmacist if she could suggest another location. The pharmacist said no we can't tell you, I said that the last time the pharmacist was able to tell me which location that had it in stock. She told me "That never happened, we would never share that information" and walked away. Can't make this up, maybe she was having a bad day but Karma is a real thing and supper bummer that the most important person in the pharmacy has zero customer service skills. Good variety of item, decent prices. Hard to find help, if needed. Pharmacy is a hit or miss and I've been using it for 40 years. Personnel is nice & patient but it can take hours to days to never to get your prescription (w/o being told they can't fill it) filled and notify you. You receive numerous irritating texts to pick it up, if ready but too many times I have to contact them (don't bother calling, they either don't answer or you're on hold & never picked up). It is always amazing to me how one person can cost a store/retailer/pharmacy a 15+ year relationship. The experience was with a clerk at the CVS Pharmacy in Encinitas, California. I had called in a refill on Monday, 2/3/2020 for a maintenance prescription that I had been getting filled at this store for the past 2 1/2 years. The person that I spoke to said they would start working on it right away. I went to pick up the script Wednesday evening 2/5/2020. I was leaving for a business trip the next morning. The clerk had a horrible attitude with me and told me that they were waiting on a response from me authorizing a $70 co-pay. I ask her why they wouldn't fill it since the co-pay is always $70 and they have never held it up before. I said if this was still going to be an issue, why didn't they call me? Her response was that I should have responded "yes" to a text that was sent to me to me authorizing the $70. I told her I didn't recall getting a text. She said very rudely that a text was sent out and it was my fault for not responding. I found the text with my other 200 texts and emails. All of texts I receive from CVS start out saying "CVS Pharmacy." This particular text started out by saying "Please Respond". Her attitude was so bad but I requested that they fill it since I was leaving town. She then said they were out of the medication and they would need to order it. I was not happy when I left. Very early Thursday morning, 2/6/2020, I responded "yes" and received an automatic text that started out "CVS PHARMACY" and that script would be filled. It's now 8:45 PM on Friday 2/7/2020. I'm just leaving the pharmacy again because I'm leaving on another business trip tomorrow morning. They told me that they are out of the medication and the prescription would need to be ordered and they would have it on Monday. I've been without medication all week. I realize people make mistakes including myself. What I don't understand is the rudeness and attitude of some people. I was in shock when this clerk blatantly told me it was my fault for not responding to the text. Again, this was after a different clerk told me they would be working on it right away and nothing had changed with co-pay in the past couple of years. I will be having all my prescriptions transferred away from CVS and will not be shopping at a CVS ever again. read more

I just tried to fill a prescription for a vital 'script at my pharmacy. They had already sent me a text saying it was to ready on Mar 12. Today (Mar 13) I went in and the pharmacy manager said "no, you have to wait until Tuesday (3-15) because Feb is a short month." BUT - in February the same prescription was filled for me on 2-11. So it has already been 30 days since that last time it was ready. CVS; 129 N. El Camino Real Encinitas, CA, 92024I now remember why I quit this pharmacy last year. I never should have gone back. Note that I also TRIED to pick up the same med in February but for an unannounced reason they were closed on Sunday night at 6:00 when I got there. If you look at the listed hours they CLAIM they are open until 12:00 am every night. Not true. In January they were closed for three straight days and not even a single CVS would allow me to transfer my prescription to a new location. I was three days late on a vital medication. read more

Then on a separate episode today the technician asked me to click on the text to show her the scan. But it wasn't working and kept saying.... Cannot open page because it's invalid. She kept saying it'll be faster than asking the name..... well 3 attempts later and the link they sent not working. The name and dob is pretty fast. If I didn't know any better maybe this is their attempt to go humanless automated rx pick up. But it has to work.... Please keep human interaction and jobs. The pharmacy is sharing my prescription information with my spouse rather than me. Despite a long conversation with the pharmacist about the issue two weeks ago, and her guarantee that she had resolved it, the pharmacy continues to violate HIPAA and send my information about my prescriptions to the wrong phone number. I have never provided this phone number, but they keep using it because I am under my spouse's insurance plan. Also, as others point out, relative to other pharmacies in the area they are very slow to fill prescriptions. I will never return to this pharmacy again. read more

outside of a couple of people occasionally which is why they get one extra star, customer service is less than stellar. It's like you can tell they don't enjoy working there, especially one in particular who is monotone everytime I've encountered her. They're never helpful when there are issues with a med. They don't call you if a med hasn't been picked up (got that at the RB CVS). They're not friendly, it's like you're always inconveniencing them. Last straw came with a pretty snarky comment I received from an associate yesterday when I called and was checking on an RX (that I wasn't sure was transferred yet to the new pharmacy). I checked on CVS online and it said status unavailable. Her comment " it says it's been transferred you don't know where?" with a snotty attitude......UHH hello Mc Fly! that's why I'm checking to see the status and duh of course I know where. I needed to get a refund because I was OVER charged from what was printed and advertised. I didn't notice until I got home that the product that should have been 8.97 was 22.97 . I took to this CVS although I bought it at another CVS earlier that day. The service was just bad! The first lady held up the line and said should could not help me. She also said all sales were final and couldn't take a return. I told her I wasnt returning I was over charged. She didnt seem to understand and called the manager. This place is headed into the ground. Came out of a urgent care situation at a clinic, the Doctor saying I needed to get three scripts filled NOW. Had him send them to this CVS. It was 2 HOURS before they texted me that "We've received an order from your provider. Use this link to track progress, view details, and let us know if you need it urgently." What? I never heard THAT one, "if you need it urgently"! Then I got another text stating they were out of one, it was on order, and they'd text "when it was ready", and "please call if you want to pick this up today." Uh, it's now nearly 7PM, so I called the store: no one picked up, it rang for a solid 12 minutes! I drove to the store, and man, what a shock: a line of seven people waiting and only one Pharmacist and two Techs on duty!! Well, I finally got to the window, and thankfully the two out of three were the most needed. Item #3 went to a to a small, independent pharmacy when I got home! Had to use the bathroom while I was there-it was a disaster. No TP, no seat covers, and a bum coming out of it! Hey, this is a great place, eh? Went up to the front to get some help...no one there. I used my best Gunny's shout and yelled, "Is there anybody minding the store??" A fellow in his early twenties looking sleep deprived came out of the back and said he'd "try" to find some TP. "I'm the only one on in the store," he added. Oh, and the refrigerated food section was empty with a "Fridge Broken" sign on it. I know there's shortage of Pharmacists, and it's probably because they burned out during the worst of the pandemic. CVS does NOT have a great reputation among Pharmacists, either, from what I have read. Pressure, bad hours, Technician pay is awful, etc. Probably for a lot of them the Pandemic was the last straw. Be that as it may, CVS doesn't seem to care enough at THIS location...they're all under pressure these days, but this place is the absolute nadir of CVS's. Positives: The Main part of the store seems well-kept and well-stocked. But that's it. read more

After today's experience, I would avoid this pharmacy if you can. Long story short, our dog has an osteosarcoma and needed pain medication. On Wednesday my wife turned in the new prescription, but was told she would have to wait to Saturday to get it refilled (it was calculated that the number of pills on the previous prescription would get us to then). On Saturday my wife went in, and was told the prescription couldn't be refilled until Sunday (by their count, we should have still had one pill). Because our dog was in great pain, we went to the pharmacy when it opened on Sunday. Was our prescription ready? No, it still hadn't been filled. The clerk told us it would be expedited, but it wasn't filled for an hour and a quarter. When I inquired about the wait, I was told that there were other prescriptions being processed ahead of us. I explained how we had tried to have the prescription filled on Wednesday, and then again Saturday, so I was puzzled while we still seemed to be in the back of the line on Sunday. This pharmacy appears to be understaffed and overworked, and there is a clear lack of communication (i.e. since we were in on Saturday and unable to get our prescription, why did we have to wait so long on Sunday?). Very bad experience especially knowing there was a dog in pain waiting at home. Final note - it doesn't engender much confidence to see so much trash on the floors around us. This store is awful. Went in to get some after surgery supplies and it was a nightmare. The only clerk in the floor was having a personal conversation with a friend loudly about her dislike of working there. I literally had to interrupt her twice to ask where supplies were and she made it seem like how dare I interrupt her during her PERSONAL conversation while she was working!!!As if this wasn't bad enough we go to checkout and the self service checkout is broken with the light flashing but no one who works there bothers to come over to fix it. So we went to the regular line, and we waited and waited.. It appears the employee checking people out is another one who likes to talk while customers are waiting.. We finally get to the front of checkout and have to wait for a different employee (supposedly a supervisor) to start checking us out as apparently her conversation with her co-worker (so the one who was having the personal conversation is now, lucky us up at the checkout continuing her conversation with a supervisor who should have been checking people out instead of talking) is more important. Finally she starts checking us out and as she's checking us out she is still talking to her co-worker and literally is taking her time so she can finish her conversation.. At this point I'm so frustrated I asked to talk to a manager she tells me I can tell her and she will pass it on (her badge said supervisor) so I explained what should have been a 5 minute trip turned into a 40 minute trip due to the one employee and her were so busy talking the whole time instead of helping the customers. Her response was " we are doing our best it's really bad here right now" REALLY???? Customer service is dead at this location. read more

I like to see older people working. I try to be patient if they are a little slow. CVS seems to be trying to give the worst possible cashier experience to push customers to self checkouts. Thus decrease staff. Like having cashiers who have to ring up a purchase several times because they don't know how to use the system. This is my regular pharmacy and I'll still go here because it's nearby, but I'm really not impressed. Some of the staff is not friendly, which I've noticed for years. What prompted me to write this review, though, is what happened this weekend. I went to pick up a prescription yesterday during normal business hours. The pharmacy was closed due to "shortage of staffing." What?? Thankfully, my prescription wasn't critical to have that day, but what if it had been? Today I picked up the prescription and mentioned that I had come yesterday and it was closed. The employee just said something like, "Yes, we didn't have any closing staff, so we had to close early." No apology was offered. A coupon for my inconvenience would have been nice, but at the minimum, an apology. But wait, I'm not done yet. So I got home with my prescription and noticed that it expires this month. This is a prescription that I expect to last me for several months. So I called, and I could tell she thought I must be mistaken (which I wasn't), and eventually she told me to bring it back and they'll exchange it. Again, no apology for the inconvenience. So yes, three trips to CVS to pick up one prescription. read more

Unnecessary delays, chronic frustration and nonsensical bungling of all your prescriptions. CVS Encinitas manages to make a routine task a frustrating and bureaucratic quagmire. Prescriptions are never ready when they say they are, refill requests are repeatedly botched. As the patient your HEALTH will often be compromised because CVS neglected to follow through on a refill request. This typically results in a week long lapse in your medications while you fight for basic healthcare. Avoid as if your health depended on it. read more
