The issue was…read morethat the doctor sent the prescription to Tucson where my wife was last week and because of flight schedules and other things she didn't get it there. So we had it transferred to our CVS here in Carlsbad and that's where the drama started. CVS has a new system or you can't call and just talk to someone you have to leave a message and they will call you back brand new system. so thanks to two superstar employees Nadia and Hassan who took an incredible amount of time and dedication of what they do to make this work today. I cannot say enough good things about this Pharmacy today and how they took care of a problem that wasn't theirs. All I can say from my wife and I is thank you you went above and beyond.

This CVS Pharmacy is beyond frustrating. Every single time my doctor sends in a prescription, I'm…read moretold they "never received it." Somehow the problem is always on the doctor's end-never theirs. After multiple confirmations from my physician's office that it was sent, CVS still claims they don't have it. It's a constant back-and-forth that wastes everyone's time. Meanwhile, I'm left without necessary medication, chasing down answers between the pharmacy and my doctor like it's my full-time job. Phones go unanswered, holds are endless, and when you finally speak to someone, there's zero ownership or urgency. At this point it feels like incompetence or disorganization is the norm. For a pharmacy, that's unacceptable. I've lost confidence in their ability to manage something as basic. and critical, as receiving a prescription. Transferring out immediately.

I joked with her that it was a part of my early Easter basket of goodies. I've already tried some of the travel sized samples. :-) I came in particularly for nail supplies ie clippers and cuticle products. Low n behold the super nice attendant unlocked the product for me and then she informed me of the BOGO deal happening for anything in that section. Lo and behold I had already had another item that I was getting from there! The section was neat and tidy too. Always a bonus. So I got the BOGO deal, used my CVS rewards cash and left spending less than 4 dollars on probably $30 worth of product if regular priced. All three staffers that we encountered this day were super nice and they each went above and beyond to be helpful.

The pickup window doesn't deal with insurance info so they sent me to another line after waiting in line for window D to input insurance info. The only saving grace is if you have a bar code then you can get in the express line which is significantly faster but even then sometimes there's a line for that. Also the floors are dirty. No one vacuums? Granted the 1 star I'm giving is for the friendly staff. But maybe they're understaff or their system is just not very efficient.

I took a seat and waited. 15mins later the staff wondered i whether I was waiting on prescription which was a bit strange. Then 5 mins later they said it was ready. They only prepared one item and I told them I wanted both. Asked to take a seat again. Another 10mins they came back and said they didn't have the other item in stock. Would have been nice they would have said so in the first place rather than try to send me off with one item when two were requested. Considering they made a guy in crutches have to go back and forth to the counter to go over their errors, it's fair to say that was far from ideal. And I don't necessarily mean from a service standpoint because I feel great empathy for the employees. It's the company's lack of care for the customer experience overall. From pharmacy to convenience store, they are terrible. Overpriced, out of stock, under trained, unreliable, inconsistent, and do not care. Selling bad gift cards, damaged goods, expired convenience grabs like milk (if they have it in stock) and expired health care and wellness vitamins and supplements. It's deplorable! You never know if your item was merchandised correctly so always have to triple check the size and brand against the signage, can't trust that it is going to ring up at the correct price. They're the only drive thru pharmacy left since Walgreens and Rite-Aid both closed but it is hit or miss whether it's open or not. The phone system is terrible, literally impossible to speak directly with a human and they have the worst inventory control ever. Can't keep 4x6 photo paper in stock for their very busy 1 hour photo business... More importantly, they're out of prescription medication all the time too. How irresponsible to be out of stock on life-saving prescriptions, especially for patients who have regularly monthly refills that are easily tracked by a POS system. They should never be out of stock unless all manufacturers are out of stock but it happens all of the time. Planning systems easily predict buying needs to near perfection, evading loss and keeping stores stocked even in the event of an influx of use. Why aren't patients needs top priority? And why is the restock time unpredictable and unreliable and often requiring the patient to follow up via a phone system that doesn't work?! As one of the largest Distributors of drugs, having bought up so much market share why aren't they being held accountable to responsible health care? Gelsons was amazing... closed. Vons was great.... Closed I really don't like anything CVS because of how much joy & time I know they're going to suck from me every time. They even make shopping for greeting cards miserable.
