The store itself is OK. Well stocked and mostly clean/organized. When you buy something that requires ID, the employee shuffles over, doesn't look at your ID and scoffs: "Just enter your birthday" with an attitude. Their parking lot sucks. Beware the NE exit. Otherwise it's ok. read more

I had my prescriptions transferred to CVS and they got it all wrong. Now I need a doctor to re-prescribe my insulin. I had 10 refills left that would have lasted until 2025 but now there are none left. I only had one pen given to me in may of 2024 and it lasted 3 months. Never got the 2nd pen due to CVS not getting the proper information from Walgreens. I called Walgreens as CVS instructed and Walgreens did say I had 10 refills, but Walgreens would not contact CVS and CVS refused to call Walgreens, and I was the poor diabetic in the middle of their childish acts went without my insulin for more than a week. read more

I have never received worse service at a CVS location. I have been shopping at CVS including using their pharmacy and minuteclinic services for the past 15 years at least. I needed a physical for work so even though I lived some distance (over 100 miles) from this location, I opted to go because I was sure that I would get quality service at CVS. The physical was broken into 2 visits, the first visit was done by a woman of color and a white woman and they both were very professional and patient during my visit. When I came back 2 days later, there was a different woman at the clinic. I tried to ask her about the check in process but she very rudely cut me off saying "if you don't have an appointment I don't have time so I'm not seeing extra people". She didn't know that I was her next appointment. During our visit there was a miscommunication about some forms I needed, when I asked if she could contact the other nurses who had originally seen me so we could figure things out she began calling me a liar and was very rude. When I told her that she was being rude and unprofessional, she accused me of yelling and threatened to not only not finish my appointment but to have me physically removed from the building. I told her that she was making me uncomfortable and she stated that I was threatening her. I informed her that I thought her behavior was racist (I am a young black woman) she then began yelling that she is not white, and can't be racist and that I needed to watch my mouth (she is a white European woman). She then told me if I wanted my physical done I owed her an apology. Unfortunately, because I needed this job I apologized, and instead of simply accepting the apology she then began to tell me "that's right" and "you need to watch how you talk to me" repeatedly. At this point I began to cry a little because I was just so embarrassed and demeaned. Her response was to rudely ask me if I needed to leave since I was crying, I told her I just wanted to finish my visit and leave. She continued to make rude comments about me crying until I finally asked her if it was bothering her, to which she responded "I don't care if you cry". She continued making comments, seemingly trying to bait me into another argument until I finally asked if we could keep conversation to what is necessary. At the end, I tried one more time to have a conversation with the provider because I do not like to leave bad reviews, but she began yelling at me again, this time in front of other patrons. I felt that the actions of this provider were not only racist as she continuously threatened me with law enforcement and security (even saying "who will they believe?" At one point) but also classist as she knew that this physically was for a job and I even told her "look let's just try to get along, I really need this job" to which she demanded further apologies if I wanted service. While she does have the right to deny service, it was completely unacceptable and inappropriate for her to use that right as a way to disrespect, demean, and subdue a patient of color. If you are in need of any CVS services, I would avoid this location at all costs... especially if you are a person of color or a young person. read more

Came in for a TB test for employment. I was planning on using my insurance but was told my insurance doesn't cover it. Okay fine. I responded it was fine that I would pay out of pocket since I need it asap for employment. The person then continued to deny the service. She was very unprofessional. read more

I prefer CVS to Walgreens. Their rewards program is easier to navigate; and they have self-checkouts. This location is rather well-stocked with a very organized and comprehensive liquor selection. I avoid this location now because employees refuse to wear masks. They have no problem taking money from immunocompromised folks that need prescriptions, but don't care about their health. One time an employee pulled down her mask to have some sort of coughing fit less than six feet away from me. The other employees, including a supervisors, laughed until a coworker, a kindly gray haired lady that often works nights, asked her to put her mask on. She finished coughing then pulled it so far up her face that her mouth was exposed. Another time a security guard acted weird when I didn't want to get too close because his mask was on his chin. Nope. It's not that I didn't know you worked there. It's because you're placing me at risk. I've complained to corporate twice, but the blatant disregard for basic public health continues. read more

I recommend do not come to this location. They lost a long-time customer for life. I will no longer shop along that strip and will go elsewhere. There's a mall with a Walgreens in it that is literally one block away. The property owner hired Innovative Parking Solutions LLC to enforce the new parking rules where you can't park backwards into a car spot without a $170.00 boot fine. The parking lot layout is terrible from the get go. The parking attendant who I thought was a security guard for CVS actually works for Innovative Parking Solution LLC. The parking attendee guard always watches the parking lot, and he saw me walk into the CVS store. He could of told me as I walked in about the rules. His eyes were always on the parking lot!! I recognize him before because I saw him the week before while grabbing lunch with my son. He went in and ordered, then proceed towards the windows to watch the parking lot again while the subway guy makes his sandwich. I thought this was odd without knowing the details of why he was there. After our quick conversation, he tells me, "I tell you what, I'll be easy on you if you have $100.00 cash, I'll take the boot off." Who in today's age carry that much money on them. Sounds like a hustle to me. Cash in some money in his own pocket. He was clearly targeting certain people since he clearly didn't tell me as I walked pass him heading inside CVS. He told others who were getting out of their cars about the signs on the fence while he started working on the paperwork for him to take the boot off my car. His name is Donta, ID # 7123, if you'll interested. He's a hustler trying to get some money and as for as I know, he works their on the weekend. If you need your meds filled, then the people here will do you right. Not really a long wait, and the pharmacists and technicians don't mind answering questions you may have about your drugs. It's a shame the parking lot is so crowded. It should be double the size with all the traffic that comes in and out of it. Rant: why in the world does CVS insist on printing out these ridiculously long receipts that run as long as a blanket even if you but one item??? read more

This may officially be the slowest CVS in the history of Chicago. The customer service here is absolutely horrid and unbelievably insane. As a person who used to live in the neighborhood, this became the only place to go to pick up quick food or drugstore products because the Jewel on 31st closed. That was really unfortunate because this CVS absolutely sucks. Trust me, I worked here for like two days and had to quit because everyone was super mean. The store is relatively clean and organized when they don't have all of the items to be put on the shelves out in every aisle blocking everything (this seems to be the case every time I come in). This CVS at least sells a good number of items, which sort of makes up for the messiness of the store. Most of their employees look like zombies and you can tell they hate their jobs. They're pretty slow about putting everything away, so there's usually just crap everywhere. I wouldn't trust taking my photos here, but that's just me. I've experienced more than one angry customer chewing out the photo employees because they ruined something, so I would just avoid this area at all costs. Or do your own pictures. The pharmacy employees are alright - I never took any prescriptions here, so I wouldn't really know what's up back there. I guess I just feel like I've stepped into an alternate universe when I come in here. The last time, the employee at the ONE open register was unreasonably slow and the customer being served was insanely stupid. At one point she forgot something and had to go back and get it in order to finish her transaction. She was gone for almost five minutes and then came back with THREE other things. Apparently she had totally forgotten that she was in the middle of checking out and continued browsing the store for more items to purchase. Of course, the lady ringing us out couldn't cancel that transaction, so we all just had to stand. It was unbelievably annoying. This is pretty indicative of every experience I've ever had in here ever. Good thing they sell booze... otherwise coming here would be entirely useless. read more

While there are a plethora of CVS locations in the city of Chicago, each of them have their specific ups and, especially in the case of this one, downs. So for this location in the strip mall at 31st and Halsted... Ups: - Good selection of beer/liquor, often at decent prices. - Very few instances of stockers with big boxes blocking aisles (common in most CVS locations) - The cashiers are rather quick, once you can get to them. Cons: - The CVS coupon machine has worked only 10% of my visits for various reasons (out of paper, unable to connect, etc.). - Very limited selection of snacks and energy drinks (what I'm usually stopping in for, only to find that they don't carry it or are completely out). - Atrocious check-out setup (more on that below). I don't really know how this CVS broke its check-out system so horribly, but it needs to assess and correct the situation. One of my favorite CVS locations (downtown) has five registers in a row, two self-checkout registers next to them, and the photo section will sometimes open up to check you out as well. THIS location has the photo section space, a large gap, two registers (possibly three exist there, but I've never seen all three of those open), a gap where the exit is, and then a floating island of two more registers. Those registers are hidden on the left and you can see if there's someone being checked out, but a giant door to the island blocks your view of ever knowing if the registers are manned without them leaning over the counter to wave and shout another customer down. Because of this setup, the checkout line foolishly starts at the photo counter and extends back into the store, often blocking aisles with its length, rather than attempting to create several smaller lines near the actual registers (the ones you can at least see are open for checkout). I place a good portion of blame onto the idiot customers (specifically the second person in a line who chooses to follow a pattern of idiocy rather than break it and create a smart second line in an appropriate location). However, more blame has to logically be placed onto the cashiers who are supposed to know better and tell their customers how to NOT queue like imbeciles. And if you see the one irregular line far from the bulk of the registers and think you can circumvent the idiocy with your own line, be prepared for a barrage of idiot-linesmen yells directing you to the back of the idiot-line because they've been waiting __ minutes already. The last issue I have with this place is that 4 out of 5 visits, I'm harassed at the entrance/exit by a vagrant asking for change, or a child asking me to buy candy, or a vagrant child asking me for a donation to a basketball team. Basically any combination of vagrancy, childhood and a list of ways to separate me from my hard-earned cash. I can't fault the CVS, though, for what transpires outside their store on the sidewalk in the strip mall. There's plenty of other things I fault them for which take precedence. read more

If you're a small town kid intimidated by the big city, this place is not for you. You have to make your way through some of the sketchy characters that hang out just in front of the place between the cars parked against the store. Walking in one of them decided he was going to block the path as I was walking in, it was intentional. But I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said, "excuse me" he stood his ground, I then said, "move it" he still stood there, so I looked him in the eyes and moved forward only then did he get out of the way. Too much hassle for a gallon of milk. I only come here when I have to, sure I'd like to give them more business but they don't deserve it. Sure they did hire a security guard but what good is he if he just sits on his a$$ at the inside of the front door. I usually try to go to the Walgreens or the Cermak Produce on Halsted just around the corner, but they close at 10 p.m., it was after that so CVS being open 24/7 is the only good thing about this place. read more

This cvs deserves 0 stars, but that wasn't an option so I had to give it 1. By far the worst cvs I've ever been to. It's always a mess. When the staff are stocking the shelves, they take up like 80% of the aisle and get mad when ur trying to pass them, at a high traffic hour like noon. No one will help u here. When u say nice things like "good morning" or "thank you", you don't get a response. The staff either walk past you, shoot you a weird look or just stand there and stare like a child does. The photo staff are miserable, the pharmacy team is miserable. These people seriously must be abused when they're not on the selling floor because they act as though they're tortured. Maybe there is a nice employee here or two, but I've never had the pleasure of meeting them. Not to mention, all the scumbags, drunks and beggars that congregate outside to beg and just chill, all day long. I don't want to walk past them at all. I've come here a few times when walgreens (a block north) didnt have what I needed. I won't do that anymore, I'd rather go to family dollar on 34th and Halsted, or else drive to target. Honestly, I'd rather inconvenience myself by taking the train downtown and go to the cvs on state St than frequent this hell hole. Also, if you're going to have the majority of the payment occur at self-service kiosk (where you ring yourself up), why are there always store employees standing there aimlessly? If we really need that much direction on how to pay at the kiosks, or if there is that much theft going on, why not put an extra employee or 2 at the registers so they could ring people up, old-school style? My grandma won't even shop here because she's so inconvenienced by the self service kiosk. I know a lot of seniors feel that way, and frankly, i'd rather have her NOT shop here, because its a safety concern when a nicely dressed little old lady has to walk past drunks and scumbags to get in and out of the store. read more

It's a CVS. A very crowded CVS with a nightmarish parking lot. But sometimes you have to come here for your normal drugstore needs but also because they sell booze. And apparently they're the only place in Bridgeport that sells booze because if you try to come in here after work or on a weekend or (god forbid) anytime in the 2-3 hour window before a home sox game, you'll be waiting in line behind one of the 2 open cash registers run buy ridiculously slow cashiers for at least 20-30 minutes with all the other people buying booze. If you really must come here, it's probably best to have already started your drinking. read more

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person who likes this CVS. Maybe it's just because I only live two blocks away, but I can be found in this store no less than 3 times a week, and sometimes go simply to use my atm card at checkout to get cash back because i'm too lazy to walk to the chase atm at 35th street. My only real complaints are that they quit carrying vanilla coke way too early, and they quit selling large cartons of soy milk many years ago (only selling half galon boxes now). Oh, and the lines can be horrendously slow, but they just renovated the store last week, and now have like 4 self checkout lanes so you won't have anyone to blame but yourself when you take a long time to check out. The people who work there are people just like you and me. If you were working at cvs in the 40th year of your life, you would hate the world just as much as those people. But, this one time i was pretty sauced around like 4pm and i got into a conversation with this lady and i complimented her hair, and described it as bouncy. She might read this, and I just want to say that I would be happy to take you home some time if you are interested in that, assuming you haven't been married for the past 10 years. I don't think you have, but who knows, maybe your needs aren't being satisfied at home. Generally speaking I like CVS better than most drug stores because the selection of hair/beauty supplies, cards and booze are fantastic and reasonably priced. The Bridgeport CVS is in fact the only logical place to purchase liquor since getting it anywhere else in the neighborhood would mean not paying your rent that month. For this, I love you CVS. Unfortunately the experience of shopping there is every bit as horrifying as the other reviewers have pointed out. Yes, you will be greeted by a homeless person almost every single time you visit this store, and yes you will encounter at least one act of domestic violence somewhere near the candy aisle. The staff are generally pretty friendly but not very helpful and never very fast. As other reviews have stated, don't be surprised if you're in line for 30 minutes especially on Friday or Saturday night. This CVS however is the only good option in the neighborhood aside from Dominicks for liquor and for that they continue to get my business at least once a week. read more

I hate parking in this lot - overcrowded with inconsiderate people. Instead, park on Emerald and walk over. This CVS has been here after the Osco Drugs closed as well as the Jewel's on 30th and Halsted. They sell all types of stuff that their competitors might not sell. Occasionally you can find deals, coupons, etc. They have their own discounted card "Extra Care Card." October 20 I like this place. It hasn't let me down when I needed affordable bubblies and cold medicine. The convenience of 24 hours really makes my life easier and extremely close to home (2 blocks away). I'm a dude. So, nothing really phase me. There's always some kind of drama at CVS since every time I visit is around Midnight and you know how that is. The place does seem a bit shady, but it's decent in Bridgeport. If you're not used to the area, you might think it's dangerous, but I have lived here for three-forth of my life and sometimes it's not as crazy as the North with people heads being blown off. Therefore, I'm going to start generalize the North Side since people generalize the South Side in News Article. read more

On a recent visit I was unable to go inside but was greeted by a employee who told me they were under special circumstances because they didn't have enough employees and he couldn't let me get a gallon of milk. This gets 3 stars because it isn't great but not too horrible either. Beer is always on sale so thats good. The pharmacists are friendly when asking on advice on the over the counter products. The bad, always people just loitering around the entrance. The lanes can get slow and even worse is when you need a worker to scan their code but they're too busy chatting with other workers. I'd say this place is adequate enough for the basic stuff and pharmacy needs. read more

If I could go lower I would. I wish that I had the strength to write an in-depth review slamming this place and this one particular cashier but I don't. I just left there and bought some toothpaste and got $10 cash back. I dropped my wallet on the counter while opening it to put my $10 and credit card in. I forgot to pick up the $10 and turned right around (less than 10 seconds) and the money was gone. I was the only one in the line. I asked the sorry-ass cashier what happened to it and she said I put it in my wallet. I told her I didn't and she said that she did not know then. There was supposedly no manager there to help and corporate was pretty useless because they said it was my word against hers, though they will talk to her about it. I am so mad. read more

I love CVS and much prefer to Walgreens but this store is the worst. The parking lot is too small and crowded. There are always sketchy people out front or in the parking lot. The Pharmacy has a distinct lack of customer service skills both in person and on the phone. It is just overall disappointing. They do have a friendly greeter which is a plus but no ATM (usually a Bank of America) which would be really nice. I hope to see improvements! read more

Ugh. the only reason i venture into this CVS is for emergency liquor runs. other than that i steer clear of this place. first, i find them very expensive. deodorant for $6?? fail. second, as cassie d. noted the parking lot is a nightmare - actually, a monumental disaster. you're sweating bullets whenever you pull in because there really is only one lane. so you have one lane, with two aisles of parking space, and three entrances. throw in pedestrians who don't look both ways before they throw themselves into oncoming traffic for extra fun. third, the lines are always unnecessarily long. and when the lines get long, you have 4 (4!) registers open. yet, the cashiers usually take their sweet time, almost not noticing the mass of humanity looking distraught because they're thinking of the epic maneuvers they're going to have to pull off in order to get out of the damned parking lot. top that off with the fact the cashiers are douche bags - yeah, i said it. unless you're a friend, or a friend of a friend's friend they treat you like garbage. the last time i was in there one cheerful cashier was commenting to the customer how it's "people like her" that are going to drive her to murder somebody. this customer clearly had trouble speaking english and apparently the cashier was short on her nerves that day. the problem is, however, CVS is one of the few stores the neighborhood has, this is why although it is constantly packed, the employees are asses, and the parking lot will cause sweaty palms, people are kind of forced to shop there. there is of course the walgreens around the corner, but don't get me started on that hot mess. read more

Worst parking lot ever due to the new parking attendant bullys. Stopped in for some chocolates after dinner and before we even got to the counter to but the chocolates 2 large policemen came in telling us we might have a boot on our car because we were taking up 3 parking spots. There were plenty of spots on the lot and I'll be the first to admit we didn't do the best job of parking between the lines but we were literally maybe only half a foot into the next spot because we knew we would be quick so we didn't readjust. These two policemen then told us they have been booting everyone and we were not going to get our boot off for anything less than 170 but if we could give him 150 in cash now he would get it off for us. Sound like a hustle? Why else would 2 policemen hang around a CVS waiting for someone to go in just to tell the boot guy to get us? We were in the store for no less than 5 minutes and didn't even get the chocolates we went there for. They are clearly targeting anyone they can get a boot on in that parking lot and are bullying their way into a cash advance for the holidays. I'm utterly disgusted with this business. Couldn't even call the cops because they are in on it. What choice do citizens have in the neighborhood?? read more

Old and dirty describes the inside. But they had what I needed when I was driving around looking for a pharmacy early in the morning before heading out of town back to Texas. So for my cold medicine I was grateful for them. I liked their self checkout. Also as a Texan I always love that you can get liquor at places other than a liquor store. read more

The epicenter of Bridgeport trash! You can literally feel negative energy swirling around this dump. Why do I go? It is close and they are 24 hours. They sell cheap booze amongst other items. Just be prepared. You will be asked for change on your way in, hear a couple argue and a baby cry simultaneously, be knocked into by kids running around on a school night at midnight, wait in line with drunk wanna be thugs buying 24 packs of natural ice and be forced to over hear their stupid conversations. There's usually a line of 12 people and only 1 register is open. The guy behind you will keep complaining about the line. Some lady will swear at her hyperactive child and tell them to put the candy back. Some girl will be having a loud cell phone conversation. Then you'll get stuck in the line even longer because some old crackhead lady is arguing over the price of a 2 liter of Mountain Dew with the poor cashier. Then you will be asked for change on the way back out. The experience is typical. read more
