In general, I've had really great interactions with CVS employees. However, there's an extremely unprofessional rude pharmacist at this location. Her name is Anna Dang, as in, "DANG YOUR RUDE ANNA!" Originally she was rude to me on the phone, and then she was rude and unprofessional with me in person. Her smock and her hair made it look like she had slept overnight in both of them. She didn't have a name tag like the rest of the employees. I tried very hard to sympathize and empathize with her and cut her slack. I asked her, "Are you having a bad day? I'm certainly not trying to be a part of your bad day. I'm being very polite with you.!" She angrily said that she was not having a bad day. So I asked her, "So you're rude every day?" Even though I was being polite and she was being rude and uncooperative, she stopped communicating, completely like a young child. Thank God, there was a young Latina employee who came and helped me. She was extremely polite and helpful and took care of my needs. I told the young Latina that she was a rockstar and thank you very much for being polite and taking care of my needs even though The pharmacist would not communicate with me nor take care of my needs in any way. The pharmacist Anna Dang's behavior and appearance BOTH reflect poorly on herself and on the CVS franchise. read more

Ugh the pharmacy always has the rudest man working. Everytime I go in there. Finally decided to just move my prescription to another one: he's very rude very passive aggressive and I'm over it. Came in today for my prescription he said I don't have it'. I said it was called in yesterday. He said oh ya super late.. no 5pm you close at 6. Well that's late. Actually an hour before closing isn't late. Well unexpected you yesterday? Wait why? Is there a time limit on when I need to pick up a prescription? Ok it'll be 20 mins. Wait what is it? I felt so sorry for the nice staff. The place on Fletcher is being ruined by the thieves who live in the parking lot. I saw people in the store who had no sense of intent to me, they weren't looking for what they wanted; I thought they were just looking for a chance to steal. There was only one hand basket and one push cart in the whole store. I don't know if the rest were stolen or have been removed so they won't get stolen. As I checked out a woman came in and stole some candy. She was confronted and said she could take it. The staff said the police come if called but two hours later. Can't blame them, the citizens of California have made shop-lifting not a crime. Then the stores go into a death-spiral. It was so unpleasant there I won't be back. read more

I was here on the 12th and had my 2 daughters with me who were doing separate purchases. Nadia I believe her name was, was the most patient and helpful cashier I have ever came across in El Cajon. She was helping us save money with our coupons. She was personable and smiling the whole time. I will now no longer have to drive to Santee CVS and can make this location my go to. read more

Consistently understaffed and the gentleman with the dark hair and mustache working the register on Friday afternoons is incredibly rude.

Approximately one month ago I went through this store's drive-thru and was disgusted with the homeless allowed to live and store their belongings in their parking lot right next to the drive-thru. Some of the homeless were yelling while another was passed out next to the store. For some reason the homeless had a massive collection of junk being stored in the lot. The entire experience of being in the drive-thru made me and my daughter very uncomfortable. I wonder who owns the lot and why this is allowed. We were in the drive-thru to get my daughter a Covid test. We had an appointment and showed up on time but for some reason it took 20 minutes for them to process us before we were even given the test. By that point at least three cars were behind us. Once we were given the test packet I had to help my young daughter do the test on herself. Meanwhile, the person in the car behind me starts honking for us to leave. It was just horrible! The staff at the pharmacy were very nice but I would NEVER return to this CVS and/or pharmacy because of this experience. read more

they really ought to make [[ 0 stars an option ]] ( this is my first time being in el cajon ) note , i have never been to this location until yesterday !! upon entering this location immediately i felt every employee was peeking their heads over the aisle,around the aisle,and of course the ones being my shadow. cashier euridicy --- so i shop often at cvs and use the app and have the wellness plus they offer that being said anytime i can save $ and i have coupons or extra cash to use.. damn right i am going to use it! the employees that day did not like that they were so phucking sure of themselves that i was going to steal and when i went to the cashier and placed down every item i touched.... they definitely felt stupid ( manager behind me is literally slamming/throwing merchandise she was stocking and of course the cashier was worse) i did two separate transactions because i wanted to use my $10 extra bucks towards my purchase and this cashier flat out lied to me saying it isnt valid until march 16 and i said no,its able to use right away and she insisted no. they thought that $10 was all i had and when i produced more $ because she refused to allow me to use coupon.... they were very upset you guys all suck at this store maybe you should not work with public if you are as judgmental as you all are!! what really stunned me was how this cashier bold faced lied to me!!! your pathetic! read more

I called this CVS pharmacy because there is a nation-wide shortage on my medication which I need everyday. The person on the phone was the rudest man I've spoken to. The call lasted less than 1 minute...he said I wasn't in the system and then he hung up on me. This is probably why my doctor hates dealing with CVS. read more

I needed to get an Antigen Covid test from a Health Provider in order to get paid from work, because a home test isn't sufficient for that purpose. I decided to use their MinuteClinic for this test, and was told I'd get my results in 1-2 days. Fast forward over 4 whole days, and they text me saying my test "could not be processed" and to make a new appointment, with no further information but a phone number to call. I called this phone number, and it was an automated hotline that gave me no other info other than to continue continue Covid protocols while waiting for my results. At this point I wouldn't test positive for Covid, and therefore I can't get paid from my time missed at work. At least give me info on why my results couldn't be processed. Thanks for wasting my time and causing me to miss out on a paycheck. read more

Employees are nice and always greet customers when they come in and leave. Store is always very clean. Pharmacy is always very helpful and nice. To the people complaining about wait times for tests in the drive thru and about the homeless in the parking lot, STOP CRYING. You're not the only ones waiting in line for a test. The majority of homeless are mentally ill and addicted to drugs. Show some compassion, be happy you're going home. Count your blessings and stop being so negative. It's ugly. read more

Such horrible costumer service. I understand people have bad days but holy crap the level of rudeness that the employees treat you with is insane. It doesn't matter how nice you try to be to them they treat you like an inconvenience. Even if they are the ones that make a mistake there is never an apology. Not only did they treat me pretty horribly but this poor guy was trying to use the Moneygram machine and they were just plane mean to him. The photo department was a mess and they wouldn't listen to me when I told them I already paid and had the receipts to prove it. This location is terrible. I came here for a scheduled vaccine and got here 25 minutes early. I checked in online like they tell you to and when I came inside there was a line of at least 10 people waiting to check in, in person. When I finally got up to the window 40 minutes later they gave me the vaccine card and then directed me to another line that had at least 20 people in line. This was the line where you now wait for the person to vaccinate you and there is only one guy working it. Overall, a terrible shitty experience. Also people in the line kept standing like right next to me like they need me instead of socially distancing. I would never return to this location. read more

I've been coming to this pharmacy for years, and while some of the people who work in the pharmacy are kind of rude, the pharmacists are all okay, especially Stephanie. I mostly use this pharmacy out of convenience, its open 24 hours and close to the urgent care by the hospital, also my son's doctor, ect. My one complaint is that some of the workers are slooooow, they let the line build up while they put all the prescriptions in the little bags away first, or your up there and they answer the phone in the middle of helping you, and instead of putting the phone on hold, they leave you waiting the entire time they are helping the person on the phone, this is annoying to me, I'm there, in person, you should be helping me FIRST, especially after I've been waiting in line for 5 or 10 minutes. Sometimes it feels like the Twilight Zone in here, and other times it's completely normal... I give it 3 because when it comes down to it, the only thing I really care about is the convenience and the knowledgeable and friendly pharmacists. read more

This review is specifically for the Minute Clinic in the back of the store. I faced a predicament where I had a VERY high fever and a sore throat, so I couldn't go to work. I was told by my manager that I would have to provide a doctor's note or I would be fired. I was at a loss of what to do since I had just been kicked off my health insurance, so I searched for free and low-cost clinics around the county. None of them were open because it was Saturday. The Minute Clinic, however, was open. It took me less than five minutes to be seen and the nurse practitioner was very friendly and compassionate. She was able to do a rapid strep test to rule out the possibility of strep. My results developed in a couple minutes and she was able to prescribe some penicillin to knock it out of my system. The cost of the exam was $112, which is better than a hospital bill. The penicillin was cheap. I felt like I went in and got exactly what I needed without any unnecessary tests that would happen in a doctor's office. They give it to you straight and will write you a note for work/school and are very friendly and clean. It's actually very reminiscent of going into a pharmacy in Mexico and describing your symptoms so the pharmacist can hand you the medicine you need over the counter. Only... it's America. So what happened to my job? Well... I still got fired anyways. But it wasn't the Minute Clinic's fault. They were fantastic. It's good to know that this is there in case of a non life-or-death emergency such as the one I had. read more

Not only are they open 24hrs a day for emergency purchases, they have the specific flavor of wanted Häagen-Dazs ice cream atm, so I was pleased. The frozen area, with its black-lined glass doors was like any other refrigeration section, smaller with fewer options, but well stocked with what I wanted so it was fine with me. The receipts from CVS are absurdly long, comical even! I would preferably have them emailed rather than deal with a floppy and fold-able piece of BPA laden receipt. They can be useful and I find it funny when the coupon is for an item I just purchased, but they know I will be back! read more

I've been to this store on multiple occasions. I usually just get what I need from the aisles, check out, then I'm gone. However, I've visited their Photo department twice and have been unimpressed, even disgusted, with the customer service both times. The Photo area is adjacent to the check out registers, so they don't staff it. I guess they assume the cashier will be able to help the photo customers in between all of the other customers that just want to pay and leave. Well, I've found the entire store team do a terrible job of managing this. I've be made to feel as if I'm a bother, rather than a valued customer. CVS needs to implement a different business/staffing strategy! read more

Don't waste your time here. The store needs to be under new management. I arrived in the drive through for my Covid test at 9:50. There was one car ahead of me. The pharmacy opens at 10am, but they didn't open the window until 10:20! For whatever reason they took 20 minutes to help the car in front of me. I get to the window at 10:40 and it takes 15 minutes to process my name and drivers license number. 5 more minutes for my husband in the same car. They apologized about their computer doing updates and running slow. What about the six cars who are now behind me? At what point do you send someone outside to let your customers know what is going on?! We finally get our swabs and drive away at 11:08. Unbelievable. Worst part: My friend was 5 cars behind me for his 11am appointment. He text me later to congratulate me for being one of two cars that tested. The car behind me was tested then they cancelled everyone else! PS It's been 17 days (13 business days) and I still have not received results. I've called twice and was told both times they are backed up and to keep checking MyChart. So can someone explain why another friend of mine was tested at another CVS over a week after me, and had her results last Friday? This CVS is BS!!! read more

I had to get a few vaccination in order to do volunteer work at a local hospital, so I came to this CVS location. This is by far one of the most unclean pharmacies I've ever been to in my life. I left and will not return, I would not want to get an injection at this place--ever! The young girl helping me was nice, but her older coworker seemed as if my asking her questions was wasting her time. So, some of the staff was nice, some not so much. I don't think they ever clean or mop the place either, the floors and surfaces are gross, and it smells like a child day-care that has never been cleaned. read more

This CVS is the absolute worst when it comes to picking up medications. Whether you go in the drive through or inside it should not take 50 min to pick up a prescription that is ready for pick up! I pulled up to the drive-through and waited 25 MINTUES before anyone helped me, and by the time they helped me THEY were rude by they I mean ELAF.A. It takes two seconds to say, "HI, I will be right with you." 2 seconds! that's all it takes. I waited 25 minutes before she decided to come to the window with her nasty attitude. I'm sorry you are busy so is everyone else and everyone else gives two seconds to say I will be right there. acknowledge your customers and don't be rude! I have now switched pharmacy's so i never have to deal with horrible customer service from this terrible unorganized pharmacy. I proceeded to go inside since she decided to hang up the phone on me and make me continue waiting after i told her i was on my lunch break, ended up going inside and watched be rude to ever customer in front of me with attitude. if you work in customer service you should be nice and respectful. Just walked out a CVS after three attempts this week to see if their Halloween merchandise has been discounted to anything higher than 50%. This past week both Walgreens and Wal Mart discounted 70% then 90% by Friday. Yet this store was quick enough to put up their Christmas merchandise. If I could give zero stars, or minus 5, I would! (This applies to the pharmacy only, not the store or the Minute Clinic.) We are letting a presciption run out here, then moving it elsewhere, even if it costs much more someplace else. This place is really that bad. Here are some of the charming things I have had happen at this pharmacy: - Called to get a prescription. Was told the doctor never called the refill in. Desperately needed it, called the doctor's office on a Friday afternoon, begged for help from the nurse, spent hours on the whole thing, and guess what? The prescription had been called in THE MONTH BEFORE and the idiot at CVS couldn't find it on the computer. Now when they say it was never called in, I always argue, and eventually the moron says, "Oh, there it is!" Yeah, ya think? - There is always a line, and almost always only one person working the cash registers at the pharmacy. There can be 10 people in line, 10 people 'working' the pharmacy, and they will still have only one line open. I saw this happen before while the clerk spent 20 minutes trying to help out an 80 year old lady who was confused. The line got longer and longer, but it took at least 15 minutes for them to open up another register. - They tried to give me someone else's prescription once and were ready to let me walk out the door with it! Last time I was in line (of course), I talked to a man who had actually been given someone else's prescription instead of his wife's. They just had the same first name - last name was completely different. Could have killed his wife if he hadn't noticed. - EVERY time I complain, I am always told that the person who just screwed up is " brand new". Either they are lying or they can't hold onto any employees - probably a combo of both. - But the biggest thing is that just no one in the pharmacy seems to give a damn. The pharmacists appear to be either old farts putting in their time until retirement, or recent pharmacy grads trying to get enough experience to go somewhere else. Oh, and at least one stuck up wench who is clearly there just for the paycheck. I have honestly considered reporting this place to the state. It is that badly run and that dangerous to customers. Do yourself a favor - get a flu shot at the Minute Clinic if you need one, buy a greeting card, but avoid the pharmacy section at all costs. read more

There are a few individuals who work at this pharmacy that I always hope are on shift simply because the rest of them are the worst! Today was one such rotten experience. I was in a bit of a hurry but I figured I'd take a look and see if there wasn't a line. Lucky me, it was one of those rare occasions in which there were lots of employees, but no one at the pharmacy. The woman who was working the pick up took my information but didn't find my prescription. Odd, I'm due for a refill, have it on auto, and have several fills before it's out... So I start to ask some questions and this woman, no kidding, turns around and walks away from me mid sentence! Because I'm in a hurry I go ahead and grab what I originally came in for and check out up front figuring I'd call and use the automated system to order the refill when I get home later in the evening. (By the way, the check out guy up front was also miserable but I care far less about that because at least I got to leave the store with my items.) Calling in shortly thereafter, lo and behold, my prescription WAS ready for pick up. I don't know what happened on her end at the computer, but if she hadn't behaved incredibly rudely I'd be saved the inconvenience of a second trip. The meds were/are there and ready to go. Again, there are a small handful of good helpful people working in this pharmacy, but as I see more and more of the super rude lady, I may be switching to someplace else. read more

Oh wow. So--I love the pharmacists here. Dale and Stephanie have never been anything but helpful and knowledgable. Plus, you've got Phillip and Dennis and a few other staff who really care about and enjoy their work--they really do care about their patients. However--this is a hugely busy location, first. There is at least one other person with a name like mine (spelled differently), and she could very well be killed using my scripts. I've nearly left with some of hers--when other careless staff are working. Also, I take a lot of scripts, and I'm not totally comfortable with them. I prefer to keep them private. I don't really appreciate loud, judgmental statements coming from teenage girls from behind the counter. I come here to get the meds I've already decided are best for my illness, and you don't know anything about me. It just doesn't add to my day. I only deducted one star for the wait and staff issues, though. The other people really are awesome! read more

We scheduled Covid tests which they advertised. They have all our insurance info as we get our prescriptions there often. It took a 20 minute wait just to pull in to their drive through window. They asked insurance info 5 different ways with 2 people asking, this was 1 hour later still no test kits given yet. Our appointment was at 9:50 am. We left there at 11 am. 1 hour and 10 minutes later. The person helping doesn't seem to know what she's doing either. The whole process is messed up. Unorganized and very slow. It was hot and had to keep the car engine running for AC! If you have other resource for testing, don't go here!!! I would put 0 star if I could!! Just awful!!! read more
