The place is alright. They need more employees, but at the same time it is not that pack so understandable. I came here to pick up some photos I ordered to print with the app. I walked around the whole cvs because I couldn't find the photo center part, but it was right there in the right corner lol. Then when i went there, no worker there so i was walking around to find someone that could help me. After that the person was very nice and fast so I was out of there quick. When I got the photo envelope thing I was like this is too thick so I opened it to check my photos, they added my photos and then someone else photos. I separated the ones that weren't mine and went back inside to give the one that weren't mine back. It wasn't a big deal. Overall, the place is okay I guess. Not the worst. read more

This CVS was actually four stars for me. It's not as nice as the location in Willow Glen (few are), but I had very little trouble using my coupons (she even had me double check her work) and their selection was spot on. The location in San Mateo is terrible. Poor selection, service is questionable. I'd much rather have the honey drive me out ten minutes and stop at this location. I made him promise me we'd never go there again. So from now on it's this CVS, even though I literally walk past Walgreens on my way home every day. read more

The pharmacist is horribly rude. My Dr ordered a blood glucose monitor. The pharmacist said they don't have it in stock but gave me a different one. I left and realized the one she gave me one didn't come with a necessary component, the testing strips. I returned, found the strips in the aisle, and brought it back to the pharmacist to tell her what was going on and say I need the strips. She said "Of course it doesn't contain the strips, your Dr needs to order them." (Why didnt she tell me that when she sold it to me?) Well, if she had given me the proper kit it would have included them. Instead of calling my Dr. to order them and returning a third time to this CVS, I just bought the strips out of pocket. I did not appreciate her rude, unfriendly, unhelpful attitude. I highly urge you to steer clear of this pharmacy at all costs. To management: read the other negative reviews of the pharmacist on here and give her some customer service training and attitude adjustment ASAP at a bare minimum, or else expect to lose more customers like myself. read more

This CVS Drug Store / Pharmacy is located in the Metro Center Shopping Center on East Hillsdale Blvd between W. Parkway Lane and Portal Lane in Foster City. I have visited here to purchase and cosmetics and toiletry items, but have never used the pharmacy so this review is for the drug store only. CVS carries a wide variety of cosmetics and health and beauty products. While it was easy to locate the Maybelline, Covergirl, and Revlon cosmetics, I had to search a bit to find the Neutrogena display before finding it on an end cap at the rear of the store. Weird, but not necessarily deserving of the loss of a star. I had no trouble finding my other items. The cashier was particularly friendly, he really stood out as having great customer service skills as he chatted with my mother and me. We even remarked on it as we were leaving. I noticed they had a rug doctor carpet cleaner rental station at the front of the store complete with all the cleaning products that you could possibly need. The fact I noticed this means that my carpets at home are about due for a cleaning. Hmmm.... better get right on that. read more

This CVS is where I come on random weeknights when I'm out of cigarettes - Capri Menthol Light 120s. They're only $5.89 here, as opposed to $7.50+ at the Shell gas station and $6.80+ at the local liquor store. It's the cheapest I've ever found it in this area, which is probably why they also run out rather quickly - they're only available 50% of the time, so I make sure to check when I'm down to 3 packs. I usually end up picking up quick snacks or drinks as well. I've also accompanied a friend to pick up medication at the pharmacy, and the pharmacist was both polite and efficient - the whole process took less than 5 minutes. read more

I'm not a fan of CVS Pharmacies in the first place but this one is by far THE WORST I've ever had to deal with. I'm not sure if it's the nature of how CVS has designed their (archaic) system, or if it's individual store management, or both - but I would advise you drive out of your way to a different CVS (or better yet, try Walgreens) before using this pharmacy. If this location were not right next to where I live, I would not have attempted one last time to get my prescriptions filled here. The pharmacy staff always says they cannot find my wife's name every time I pick up her prescriptions, then I tell them to type the first four letters of her last name instead of the first three and, like magic, they suddenly find it after grudgingly complying with my request that they type the first four instead of three. Very annoying. This has happened on several occasions and the last time the woman gave me a look like I was a crazy person before she realized her mistake. Both my wife and I have had problems with the pharmacist flat-out refusing to fill prescriptions from my doctor, without any sort of appeal or review. Today it happened again, my wife was denied the cough medicine she was prescribed and they even lost the record of the prescription so she can't even get it filled elsewhere. We also found out today in following up on the denial that CVS has so monumentally screwed up my wife's account that there's actually two accounts in her name with some prescriptions on one and some on another! WTF. That's it, CVS, I'm done. If you are messing up our accounts this much, I can only imagine what you must be getting wrong with our orders. Rite Aid just down the road was able to fill all my prescriptions with no problems at all. read more

The pharmacist on duty at 7:50pm refused to fill a prescription for my husband. My husband was in a bad car accident where his Tundra rolled off a ravine. Thankfully he only broke his knee but the hospital simply stabilized his knee and gave him a prescription for pain until he got back home. He's going to need surgery. The pharmacist was extremely rude and refused to fill the prescription "just because". My husband was home in pain and all pharmacies had closed or were closing. This happened Wednesday evening. She refused to fill the prescription because the prescription was given in another county where the accident happened and we live in foster city. I didn't get her name but she's an Indian pregnant woman who I guess feels like she has the power of God in her hand. Very frustrating, very unprofessional on her part. She was extremely rude and talked down to me. I Highly DO NOT recommend this pharmacist. I went to another 24 hour pharmacy that didn't blink or question anything and immediately filled it. Walgreens on el Camino. Very disgusted and disappointed with CVS but more the pharmacist on duty June 20th in the evening. read more

If I could give the pharmacy department 0 stars I would. The only person who is nice there is the Asian male Pharmacist. We have been going here since it is the closest to our house however we have encountered so many issues. The Asian Female pharm tech that is usually counting pills or at the register is rude as hell. Multiple instances I went she was rude to other customers as well as myself. We didn't even do anything to her. If you are unhappy then find a job that doesn't have to deal with customers if you are going to be so rude. There is also a female whom may be Tammy (since I recognize the voice from going there) who answers the phone when we call the department that is rude as well. The person at drop off previously told us to call back on Monday to see if the flu shot for ages 65+ was available and so I did and the person who answered the phone was extremely rude. She said check back Wednesday or Thursday and rudely told us you know there's other pharmacy with it in stock basically pushing us away. I did what I was informed to do which was call back however the female who answered could care less and seemed bothered. It's not our fault that your system is having issues and not telling us when it is in stock. We have scheduled an appointment and no notice was given that the shot wasn't in stock. There's plenty of pharmacist looking for opportunities in which I believe would offer way better customer service than the people here. I will be transferring all of our prescriptions to another pharmacy. read more

As far as drug stores go, this one isn't so bad. I come here regularly since I work close by and it's a convenient location to pick up whatever it is you pick up at drug stores. They have a decent selection of makeup and hair products which is generally clean and organized (I can't say the same for most drugstores I go to). The service has always been friendly to me. Price wise, of the things I purchase regularly, it's about 7-12% higher then Target prices. Mostly though, I like that I can buy books of forever stamps here. I will give high marks to anything and everything that keeps me out of the long lines at the post office! read more

I've had two experiences on the last month where I came to pick up an RX and pharmacy staff said it would be 15-20min. I checked on after 20 min and was told the same, 60 minutes later I finally got my RX. If the wait is actually 60 min, pharmacy staff should say that instead of setting false expectations that them frustrate customers. I'll be looking for new pharmacy. read more

If I could give fewer stars, I would. I signed up online for a flu shot this morning. When I arrived at CVS, I realized I was not sent a confirmation email. The lady at the clinic stated I may have set up a time for the pharmacy. She suggested I go to the window with the flu shot sign for assistance. I get to the window and I am ignored for 3 minutes. I go to the first window where there was a pharmacist. She told me to go back to the flu shot window. The pharmacist at the flu shot window asked me how old I was. I told her my age and she said they were out of flu shots for my age group. She said the website is not able to track inventory in her store and gave a bunch of other factors where "corporate" was the cause of this issue. read more

Watch out for Meera, who I'm guessing is a manager. She tried to get us to sign up for some shady rewards program that sounded like it would charge our card every month in return for a coupon. she was talking as fast as she could to get us to not read the fine lines too carefully. She just said that we could save $10 today if we signed up and not to worry about the recurring charge. My hubs was squinting at the screen trying to read as she kept insisting "just push yes" She even said, "don't look at the screen look at me." The way they try to get you is by hitting a bunch of "yes" on the credit card reader and that it was a one time offer or something. Don't fall for it! Don't fall for pushy people. We said, no and she seemed really annoyed and put out. read more

I like this store for their weekly specials, having a club card can save you quite a bit of money on everything from bandages to beef jerky. The pharmacy is decent for turn around time, they tend to process refills in a timely manner and the house pharmacist does a good job in consulting with patients on the proper usage and dosage of their medications. I wouldn't suggest shopping here for non sale items, as their prices can sometimes become twice as expensive as any other store around. If you come here for health and beauty items, you can save yourself a few dollars per item by purchasing their house brand. read more

I was hoping things have improved over time but I was clearly wrong. Things are still so unorganized and mismanaged with the Pharmacy and the store! We made an appointment for a flu shot online per the sign at the Pharmacy. We got there and they told us they are out of flu shots and to come back in 3-4 days. Their online appointments system doesn't check inventory, and so the only way to be sure is to do it the old fashioned way, which is to give them a call. Another wasted trip here! Also I grabbed a Xmas bow and was charged $3.99, only to realized when I got home that the sign on the bow says $2.99. My fault for not noticing but that just goes to say there's nothing good about this store! I really hate coming here . It's so poorly run and it's in a nice town here. They need much better management at the Pharmacy and the store!! read more

This place is not bad..it usually has the stuff I'm looking for and was open on Christmas Eve. Yeah..slightly last minute with the stocking stuffers. I wouldn't say the staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming, but when I come here it is usually a "fly in, fly out" type of ordeal. The staff is nice enough when they actually know what they are doingg but CVS as a whole is the most frustrating pharmacy I have ever dealt with. Every time I go in there's an issue. Today's is that apparently CVS deleted my insurance info. The staff kept saying that it's because it's my first prescription of the new year (it's not) but what the hell difference does that make anyway?? I have picked up a years worth of prescriptions from here. So they don't have my current insurance info "because the system deleted it" but they have the insurance I had in college 10+ years ago from a different state on file. It's confusing because their electronic services sends more texts than a jealous ex boyfriend, and they regularly request refills to prescriptions I don't need and won't use anymore just to make an extra buck, but the scripts I need today they can't pull off. Prescription pick up times are always late. I called in a refill at noon and system said it would be ready at 4pm. I showed up at 5:30pm but it wasn't ready and I had to wait 40 minutes while staff kept saying it will be just another few minutes. read more

The pharmacy is a mess. It is poorly run, with prescriptions all over the place. Every time I pick up my prescriptions, they have to look in several places, sometimes taking a long time before they find mine. Being disorganized is merely a symptom of its fundamental problems with its operation. After putting up with them for a year, the straw that broke the camel's back was my last visit. On my way to the pharmacy to pick up my prescriptions, I used the CVS app to pay for my prescriptions. When I presented them with the code, they were unable to locate the order on their computer. They have looked up my prescriptions with my name and birthday, but they had no record of the fact that I had already paid for them. Even when I showed them that I had already paid for them, they refused to release my needed prescriptions to me without paying again. I asked them to escalate the problem, and the manager was unable to do anything. They escalated to the corporate level help desk, and after 20 minutes of waiting, they still had no answer. Rather than having to wait for an indeterminate length of time, I asked them to call when the problem is resolved. After an hour waiting at home, there was still no call from them, so I called. After being on hold for 5 minutes, I was told that I have to pay again to pick up my prescriptions, and expect a refund in 2 weeks. If their system was screwed up that they couldn't see the payment that I already made, why should I trust their system to give me a refund in 2 weeks? When one pays for something, and the seller does not deliver, it is called a fraud. This will be my last visit. This operation, a poor excuse for a pharmacy, needs to be shut down for its incompetency. Don't forget our health depends on them. I wouldn't trust them. read more

One unexpected bonus during my most recent visit was Casey. He is a gem! He is extremely knowledgeable about products in the beauty supply area. He cares about his customers, and offers advice tailored to customers' needs. I will be a return customer! read more

The pharmacy is kind of a nightmare. They make you wait ridiculously long to get your script and then they have the audacity to say the doctor never sent it in. My friend used to work here and she told me they always blame the doctors office even when cvs screwed up most of the time the cvs staff are either too lazy or overwhelmed to check the prescriptions that were sent in so rather then do their job they lie to the customers and blame any mistakes on the docs office. What a despicable business tactic. The only decent thing about this place is the location is convenient and the hours are good, if there was a closer alternative I would use it. read more

Their selection of remedies for sinus problems is pathetic. They need to do a Sears thing and close their dooors for lack of necessary and needed nerchandise. This review is for the minute clinic. I saw Lillian. It was a Sunday, I was traveling the next day, I had been nursing a sore throat and it started to get bad. So instead of bugging my doc on a weekend I went here. First, I asked her how long the visits take and she told me 30 minutes. I had to be somewhere in 60 minutes so I figured I could make it. I told her I had to be somewhere then, so I could come back later if needed. Nope, now. She is the slowest moving woman I've EVER met. Can't multitask, is rude and short with people. Noted that the side of my face looked swollen because of my glands but choose not to give me an antibiotic. Just to give me something to dull the pain while she sent a strep test out. She did a rapid strep test which I was negative for (I told her I don't have strep, I know what it feels like and I avoid kids like the plague) so she took another one to send to a lab. I asked if she could give me an antibiotic since I was traveling and she said no and gave me a pamphlet from the CDC. SERIOUSLY? I'm not asking for pain killers or anything addictive, I just want to enjoy my vacation. Long story short, my doc called in something for me and I'm starting to feel better but Lillian will waste your time, be rude to you and then give you a bandaid instead of actually giving you something that can fix the problem. read more

DON'T GO HERE. This pharmacy is a hot mess. My biggest issue with them is evidently the same as many others, the pharmacy consistently interferes with the relationship between patients and doctors. I've had the cashier tell me "We won't fill this prescription because you don't need it". I couldn't believe it and asked her to repeat herself, and she flatly refused to submit my doctors prescription. Today they told me they wouldn't honor my doctors request that I get a shingles vaccine even though I'd taken the extra step of getting a prescription. They said, "Not until you turn 65 years old", but they agreed that most people should get one at 50. Of course they told me after I waited in 4 different lines, filled out all the paperwork then stood around waiting. As usual, I left frustrated for wasting over an hour.....again! I noticed they have new signs up that say "We are unable to let our customers return prescriptions" . What a joke. They make too many mistakes with prescriptions then won't let customers return them. This is a review by a vegetarian This store seems larger than it is and is a bit confusing with one set of north-south half aisles and two side sets of east-west aisles. Try as I might reading all the signs and making a standard delta search pattern of the entire area I could not find the item for which I was looking. I nabbed a red-frocked employee and asked for assistance. She walked me all the way to the north wall while looking at the shelf we passed. At the end of the row she hesitated... we stood in front of the tampoons for a prolonged pause... then just as I was about to say "No, no, I want *ear* plugs" she went around to the next aisle and pointed to the bottom shelf where there was a wide array of silence inducing foam bits. read more
