Don't apply for a CVS card here. They never register you. Who knows what they do with the paperwork.

Bigger CVS than other I have been to. I think it's because they souvenirs for tourists and a section of beach things in case you're on your way there and forgot something. I felt like the prices were about the same as any other CVS. The only difference is that they do have over priced tourist gifts. So here's my problem with this CVS: my Hubby, daughter and I stopped to buy a gift bag and card seeing that we were in a hurry to get to a family event. My hubby decided to take a six pack of beer, waters and ice. As we got to the cashier my hubby pulled out his card to pay, the cashier asked for his Identification card obviously to verify his age for the beer purchase (we are in our late 20's), she then turned to me and asked if I had one too. I said no, because I wasn't expecting to buy anything, as it was, I wasn't purchasing these items to begin with. She said I was policy to ask for everyone's identification regardless of who's purchasing the beer. That was a surprise to me! One because I believe they must ask for identification from he person making the purchase and two because we don't look under age. She made us walk to the car to get my I.D. Or she wouldn't sell him the beer. She said it was policy. I wonder if that's only policy in La Jolla because I know that's not policy in Los Angeles. We did as she asked but i felt it was unnecessary and she repeated that it was policy several times when I wasn't even questioning her. read more

This CVS location is just plain okay. I usually come here only because they carry the kind of hair gel and contact lens solution that I like to use. Plus, I live in the area so I go here if I don't want to drive 15-20 minutes south to Walmart. The location is convenient and the prices here seem to be a lot cheaper than the Ralphs across the street. The weird thing about this CVS location is that the register line goes through between one of the isles, kind of far from the register counters. Therefore, if you're standing in line where you're supposed to, people tend to cut in front of you because you're standing so far away from the register counters... I usually don't care, but you're in a rush or something, it can get kind of annoying. They should change where that register line starts. Other than that, I can get all the things I usually need here. The store itself is fairly clean and products are easy to find. When you use your CVS card, you sometimes get pretty nice coupons that can save you a ton of money on your next purchase. read more

this pharmacy has THE WORST service ever. they tell you that your prescription will be ready at certain time then once you wait in the ridiculously long pick up line they tell you that its not going to be ready for another 25 mins and try to tell you that you were wrong and they never told you it would be ready at the time the originally told you. they get very defensive when they are wrong and refuse to be nice to anyone or take an extra five minutes to help you out. I suggest you go to the RALPHS 24-hr pharmacy that is right across the street they are FABULOUS read more

Rude pharmacist. After being on the phone with my mom to tell me if I needed to pick up her prescription along with mine I am trying to get her information and the the rude pharmacist, Christine I believe, says I will not help you until you are off the phone. In a nicer way she could have asked. Second, as I quickly hung up the phone as my mother was mid sentence I give her my information slowly and kindly. She rudely tells me I'm not in the system. I've been a customer there for a year now. Where else would I be ? I asked her to check if she got my information correctly, she looked at me rudely and asked in a disgusted tone to repeat it and acted as if I was dumb. I also had to purchase my moms contact solution along with my prescription and she rudely took it and said can you wait before you scan it. I work in customer service for over 5 years now and never have I been so rude to anyone like that! read more

Use this as my main pharmacy. The wait can be a little long, but the service at the pharmacy is good. Particularly impressed by the young guy with the southern accent working there. Always seems to know everyone's name and give great service! read more

If you like being stalked when you enter a store, this place is for you! Unfortunately, the manager of this location thinks it is a good idea to have a staff member stand near the front entrance and get in your face every time you enter to ask "can I help you find something?".(in a bold and aggressive manner) Although this approach looks good on paper, in reality I feel like I am getting harrassed every time I enter. If a staff member doesn't get in your face then a cashier will shout out "Thank you for coming to CVS". Be real! This is such a fake, and I believe RUDE approach to customers. I have used the pharmacy for years, but now that this store manager implemented the STOP and FRISK policy, I have moved my prescriptions to Rite Aid. I have a much more calm and relaxed experience there! read more

This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I tried to pick up a prescription that was already filled, and Sharon told me our insurance didn't work. I was ready to pay cash for the prescription that was sitting in front of us, and she told me how much it would cost. I tried to pay the cash price but she told me I would have to go to the end of the line. When I argued that this did not make sense, she told me that I had just wasted 2 minutes of her time. This seems completely unacceptable for a prescription that is filled and sitting in front of us. It makes me think this staff is totally overworked and unable to handle simple tasks, let alone fill important prescriptions. Beware! read more

I've been getting my prescriptions here for about 2 years and they never get things right. My prescriptions that are on autofill sometimes are not filled with no notice. It's always busy and the line is long. While waiting to talk to the pharmacist at drop off you also have to wait for the pharmacist to talk to the people that call in. They seem understaffed and the pharmacists seem to know that. They are usually friendly and helpful so it must be the CVS system that is so terrible. They are open 24 hours, however and can fill prescriptions in 15 minutes or so while you wait. Overall inconsistent, save yourself the frustration and just go somewhere else. read more

To begin with , I am very positive person who never have written any bad review before, but because the danger for my health condition created by the pharmacy staff, I would like to warn people from visiting this cvs pharmacy in La Jolla village. I came from Santa Barbara for 4 days conference to La Jolla, CA on February, 20th with my friend. On the way to La Jolla we had to stop at emergency center in Oxnard because of my sudden excessive uterus bleeding. The doctor has examined me and prescribed medication which should be used as soon as it possible in order to stop the bleeding.3 hours later we registered for the conference and I ran to the closest drug store to pick up the medication. Not only I didn't have the medication, I had to contact my emergency center for the assistance because CVS staff Brittany couldn't get connected with them. She said they didn't cooperate with her and even hang up on her. I called to the emergency center myself , found a doctor who was happy to talk to pharmacist at CVS but she was very busy and couldn't speak to him. I tried to give my phone to Brittany to talk too the doctor but she asked them to call back to the pharmacy. They did so but nobody was willing to pick the phone up. I was there for over an hour bleeding but none of the staff had any concerns of a person who might be dead in front of them. I have never seen such non compassionate people who didn't provide any professional help. At the end I called emergency center again where One of the nurses recommended to go to a different drug store because there wasn't any cooperation from the CVS staff. I was weak, nervous, and so sick that I couldn't do it the same day. During the night I lost a lot of blood and was ready to die. I might sue this pharmacy because they risked my life so easy and careless. read more

I called the CVS pharmacy today with a very simple request - to transfer over a prescription from another pharmacy. I hadn't done this before and wasn't exactly sure how it worked. The woman who answered the phone was basically rude and cranky with me the minute she answered the phone. First she asked my name and when I stated and spelled it, she said, "MA'AM I can't write that fast." First of all, I'm pretty sure I have given people my name over the phone before and it has never been a problem, so maybe you should learn to type a little faster given your line of work. Secondly, the word "ma'am" is generally used to show respect, but when you use it with a certain tone it is completely condescending. So then I apologized and repeated it for her. Then she sees that I'm not already in the system and does a disgruntled sigh and says, "Ugh, now I need all your information." oh yeah, God forbid you actually have to do your job! How horrible for you! So then she asks me for the name of the pharmacy I usually use which is UCSD student health. Considerinf UCSD is right across the street I can't imagine my request being unusual. She wasn't able to find the pharmacy so she asked me for their phone number, which I told her I didn't have in front of me. And she immediately launched back into her condescending tone: "MA'AM, I cannot do it without that." and mInd you, I did not have an agitated tone this whole time. I realized I didn't know how the whole thing worked and I didn't have all the info in front of me, but I would have been happy to look up whatever was necessary and call back. However at that point I couldn't stand to talk to this woman for a second longer, so I said never mind and figured I'd call back tomorrow. I decided to write a review about this little incident because I don't think people should be allowed to get away with completely unprovoked rudeness, especially not in customer service. There is really no excuse for being a cranky bitch to a complete stranger for absolutely no reason. When I pick up my rx, I plan to let the manager know that I didn't appreciate the way I was spoken to by this woman. if it wasn't the only 24hr pharmacy by my house, I would literally never do business with these people again. read more

I'm so disappointed with this store's customer service, the store supervisor April's in particular, I would give zero stars if I could. I stopped by the afternoon before Valentine's Day because I was in the area and wanted to pick up some Valentine's gifts for my kids and nephews. The cashier only handed me one bag and when I got home I realized that she hadn't given me half of my merchandise. I called the store and asked to speak with a manager and was directed to the supervisor April. I explained my situation and asked if I could just get a refund for the merchandise because I live 40 minutes away. She very unapologetically said that she couldn't do that, although I had the receipt and transaction number, and that there was nothing at all she could do for me other than for me to go all the way back there and pick it up. If she was at least nice and apologetic about it I wouldn't be writing this review, but she was rude and was pretty much saying "too bad, deal with it". I'm never again shopping at CVS. read more
