This has nothing to do w/the pharmacy. They sent me a 30% coupon to use & the register would not honor it. They tried to tell me the item was on sale & it wasn't. I calculated the photos & I paid .35 a piece for them. NOT ON SALE (Costco is .17) After much discussion w/the clerk (who was very patient) even the manager could not get it right. She re-did the items again & tells me that 30% off 14.70 is .11 Even I can do that in my head & know that's not right. After much ado I got that 30% off but it took a ridiculous amount of time & persistence on my part to get it. CVS needs to honor the coupons mailed & adjust their registers to do this. Also their photo machines do not reflect that we must pay .35 each print unless you print 50. That is not evident on the machine when printing. read more

As I am writing this review I'm standing in line for the pharmacy for the second time in 2 hours... I've been faithful to cvs for over 20 years - coming from the east coast I'm used to prompt pharmacy service the service here is severely lacking. Whenever I have prescriptions called in I face double the wait time and am asked to return in half an hour to an hour. It's ridiculous and I'm switching my primary pharmacy. And review finished and I'm still in line... 15 minutes in line to pick up a prescription. Also I'm constantly met with excuses as being under staffed... Hire more people! read more

This pharmacy is slow, poorly run, and the staff are incompetent. On 3 separate occasions I have had my Dr. send in my prescription. Each time when I arrive the prescription has not been filled. I am then sent back and forth between pick up and drop off to locate the prescription. I am promised a 15 minute wait time. Unfortunately, the wait is closer to an hour. The staff act confused and bothered when I make an inquiry about the wait time. I will not be returning here. read more

I came to this pharmacy today because it was close by to my workplace as well as Grossmont Hospital. The wait to drop off the prescription was 20 minutes then I get told I would have to wait two hours before my prescription was ready. I should have gone somewhere else at that moment but I had just left the ER and I wasn/t feeling well. Anyways I went over to Target to wait it out in an area where I could sit for a while. Returned to this pharmacy two hours later to be told they didn't have the antibiotics in stock. I took back my prescription and left. The service here is horrible! One star because I can't give zero. read more

This is literally the worst service I've ever been given. They were rude, talked crap about the customer before me , the pharmacist Elizabeth lost the prescription but claimed it was filled , then they forgot to print my sons medical information and tried to charge me extra , if that wasn't enough they tried to help multiple people at one time no privacy and jumped through all of us . Right when I thought we were done they had to reprint the label because they didn't have the name spelled right and so the pharmacist had to reverify the whole prescription. I've never been so disappointed with a pharmacist where I've questioned whether or not I should fax the prescription to another pharmacy for safety. #disorganized #rude read more

If I could do zero stars, I would. This pharmacy has gone down the tubes FAST! Nobody knows what is going on, the staff is rude and rushes you through. They've filled prescriptions only to call an hour later and ask "how many pills did you get?" Yesterday was the turning point for me though. I get two prescriptions a month, all by mail order. I use this CVS in the cases of emergency or if someone in the family needs a prescription for a new illness. Yesterday was that case. The doctor gave me an ear drop; she suggested I call the pharmacy before I pick up to make sure they had it. I called; was greeted on the phone by "CVS HOLD" and then after five minutes spoke to a man who said "I don't think we have that, but let me check." Ok, not too bad . . .25 minutes passed and that man never returned to the phone. I called back on another line and couldn't even ask anything since I was greeted with "CVS HOLD." I ended up hanging up and having the prescription changed to the Rite Aid in Lemon Grove, who always seems to have EVERYTHING in stock, or can get it within the day (Tamiflu!!). I'd stay away from this place; I will not be going back again, I've learned my lesson! read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I just switched my prescriptions over to Von's after my experience today. They are seldom ready when they're supposed to be (I think they wait until you get there before they even begin to fill them) and their "15 minute wait" is almost always longer. Then you have to wait in a long line to get it as there is only one person at the pick-up counter. Terrible customer service and rude staff. This is a busy pharmacy and they are either understaffed or just don't care. I'm done with them. I don't know about other CVS pharmacies, but stay away from this one! read more

I wouldn't recognize the CVS Pharmacy I went to today from the descriptions I read online. Even though I had a change of insurance, plus a change in what the new insurance would allow, the staff were fine about solving the problems and it didn't take much time. My prescription was filled promptly. My flu shot was given gently. The place seemed clean. The staff was friendly and professional and considerate of my physical condition. Haven't had any problems now or with my past experience with a different health insurance. Maybe I've just gotten lucky, but I'll continue going there. read more

Rude. I came in at 9:50 to grab one thing and check out before they closed. Didn't greet me. When I was looking around for my item, instead of asking me if I needed help, the guy just goes "we are closing at 10 sharp." Yes, I got that. It would have been faster if you had helped me instead of being snappy. I worked retail too so I understand that they are trying to close on time but you still can't do that to your customers. Extremely slow, and the staff is completely unapologetic for it. People who are unsympathetic to sick people should not be in the medical industry at all. Literally the slowest, worst pharmacy I've ever been to! And it's been like that for years. Time to make switch.

This place is totally disfunctional. It seems the help in the pharmacy area could care less about the customers. Today I waited in line for over twenty minutes. One of the two registers were out of order so the line had at least 15 people. When I got there, someone had dropped crackers all over the floor. By the time I left, the crackers were still all over the floor. A gentleman needed to use the restroom, but that was out of order. When I got up to the counter, I had to use my finger to sign for the medication because the pen didn't work. They certainly make enough money at that pharmacy to keep their equipment in working order. The girl barely mumbled have a nice day to me. How sad. These are the most unfriendly group of people around. Oh how I long for the day when it was a Longs pharmacy. Mail order, here I come! read more

I visited this store yesterday and was shocked at its uncleanliness. The rest room is filthy, dirty walls, old scuffed floors. The exterior of the store looks like it has not been cleaned in years with streaked, dirty windows, cobwebs and dirt. The state of this place is an insult to its employees and customers. After reading in this morning's newspaper that the CVS CEO's salary ratio to its median employee salaries is 1,192, I felt disgust. read more

Customer NO Service by Donna G. I couldn't believe how incompetent she was when she was ringing me up & when I said what I was buying was marked at 25% off she said "I don't think so!" Didn't even bother check. Then, she had the nerve to tell me that my items that were marked 2 for $5 & 2 for $4--were on sale since I was buying 2 of each, when that was the price they were marked! She was actually yelling at me for daring to question her math--unbelievable! And, in front of my kids. I will never darken the door of this CVS again--if any after this experience! read more

HORRIBLE!!! I wish I could give no stars! The absolutely worse pharmacy I have ever used! I will never come here again. I called and made sure the pharmacist had my son's prescription they said an hour... Fine I can deal with that BUT TWO HOURS later and still not done! And this is nothing compared to the last time I came here... Called said my prescription was complete, it was not! So I waited my 15 minutes did some shopping elsewhere came back and they didn't have the meds and made me go to another pharmacy. CVS EXECS DECIDE TO MALTREAT CUSTOMERS WITH CHRONIC PAIN. My wife tried to fill a simple Oxycontin and Oxycondone prescription yesterday at CVS Grossmont. She had filled these prescriptions at this pharmacy several times. I went with her and stood there as Head Pharmacist Irina said a new CVS Corporate policy was not to help customers anymore who were getting prescriptions from my wife's pain doctor. Irina admitted that CVS has not reported this particular doctor to the AMA, or to any regulatory authority, or taken any other legal steps against this doctor, just decided to harm their chronic pain customers. Irina said that CVS was trying to get other pharmacies to collude with CVS and try to harm all customers of my wife's pain doctor by denying the customers their needed pain medicine. Irina suggested that we go to any other pharmacy. Because this is just an action by CVS Corporate Execs, who clearly think that they know more about treating chronic pain than MD's do, your pain doctor will be next. Clearly the CVS Execs do not care if their actions harm customers. AVOID CVS. STAY AWAY, like we will. read more

The only reason I give this pharmacy 1 star is because I have to. This is the WORST, SLOWEST, MOST INCOMPETENT pharmacy! There is never any sense of urgency. This pharmacy has greatly improved over the past year. The pharmacy still needs to work on getting the prescriptions ready on time but the clerks are always very friendly & helpful. The cashier Donna is always going above & beyond for every customer I see her helping. She says hello to everyone by name & is always super friendly. If I could give this pharmacy zero stars I would. Do not go here for your prescriptions unless you are a glutton for punishment. I should've been dissuaded the very first time I came in and they told me I would have to pay $700 for my two prescriptions because I "didn't have insurance" even though they had my insurance card in their hand. The lady entered my insurance number incorrectly at least TEN TIMES. A half hour or so later, she finally figured it out and I got my two prescriptions with my $10 copay. They have also called to tell me my prescription is ready multiple different times and when I arrive they tell me it isn't and talk down to me. Every time I go in there it is an unorganized cluster! And last week, the final straw before switching to a different pharmacy, I waited 40 minutes after a trip to urgent care for my antibiotic prescription. There were two customers in front of me in line. They told the gentleman who was first that he didn't have insurance either and asked if he wanted to pay out of pocket, he said "no, I'm not doing that," because he had insurance and the girl very unprofessionally said "then I guess you're not getting your prescription," instead of trying to fix the problem. He called his insurance company and the whole ordeal took forever. Then they started taking people out of what seemed to be the order of the line who had been waiting an hour and were walking around the store. They were speaking to each other unprofessionally and the pharmacist admitted to scheduling lunch shifts incorrectly because she realized now she'd be leaving them short staffed to take her lunch. By the time I got up to the counter, the girl asked if I had taken this medication before and I said I hadn't. She said she would call the pharmacist over to do a consult before she headed out for lunch. I had a question the trauma nurse had asked me to ask the pharmacist. She gave me my prescription and told me to have a nice day and I said, "I'm not having a consult with the pharmacist?" She looked shocked that I was asking and said, "did you need to ask her something?!" At this point I said "it's not worth it..." and walked away, never to return again. Don't do this to yourself! This review only pertains to the pharmacy. The pharmacist with the dark black hair is completely rude, unprofessional, and unwilling to apologize or admit to making a mistake. I have just spent an hour at the pharmacy because of a mistake she made in entering my information. When I brought to her attention that my information should be correct, she responded with "that's not my problem". I then spent the next half hour going back and forth between the girls at the register and on my phone as the pharmacist was suddenly "busy" and couldn't assist me. After a long and tedious time figuring everything out, I was told that she made an error of entering my info. I totally understand human error, but my problem was that she didn't offer to help or take blame for messing everything up. When I told the girl at the register this, the pharmacist overheard me and all of a sudden storms out of her back office to defend herself and tells me I'm "creating a scene". This girl needs an attitude adjustment and a reality check. Wish 0 stars was an option. read more
