I use this Walgreens usually for the pharmacy and usually go through the drive-thru with good…read morecustomer service. The main store yesterday, was however another story. I have been in Retail Customer Service for over 20 yrs and how the employees acted was not what I call good customer service. I went in to 1st get prints for my mom's 70th birthday party. The older guy in blue pointed to a kiosk, when I asked about them making prints with an online discount, he said the sale price would come up on the screen. I muddled my way through the scanner, etc standing up trying to ask for assistance(which printing was his job anyway) and he just said 8×10 look blurry with that small of a picture used. I submitted what I thought was correct, took a picture of the screen with order number and waited the 30 mins until ready by shopping the store. I picked up items from lots of depts, with no other associate asking if I needed help. Then I approached a worker to ask if they had a certain product and standing a short distance away, she didn't even acknowledge me, she just spent more time chatting about her personal life to a co-worker down the isle. When she finally stopped talking and asked what product I was looking for they didn't have it and I went on. I rounded the corner as she made a snide remark about what I had asked for. Then my prints were wrong and the associate at register seemed put-off that she had to make them the right size. Well if you had done your job in the 1st place, I could've been out quickly and not be upset with a bad experience! I work in shipping and deal with Amazon a lot and hardly ever order from them because they are making physical stores close. But seeing the way this main store, my pharmacy store is run, it is no wonder Amazon is getting the lion share of business these days. While I was in the store, I wasn't the only one they treated like that. I hope Management sees this and tries a pivot before perhaps you may not have jobs...

So, I stopped in at Fred Meyers in Snohomish yesterday. Here's my review…read more.. I was INUNDATED with...wait for it...nice and helpful employees. Yep. Okay, I admit, this is not exactly breaking news for those of us who shop here on a regular basis but that doesn't mean it doesn't need to be noticed. For example, let's talk about Kathy at the seafood and meat counter. There was this lovely customer in one of the little motorized shopping carts who needed assistance and Kathy was incredibly kind and helpful. I know, I know, that's her job, but she did it with a smile and a lot of patience. How cool is that? She also made sure to acknowledge me, and other customers as they approached, to make sure we knew she saw us. Like they say, it is the littlest things that are so appreciated. My checker, May, was a sweetheart; helpful, friendly and super-efficient. We got through almost the entire order, and I realized I had forgotten my ID in my truck (apparently 60-ish is the new 21 Hahahaha but having owned a C-Store I have no problem with following a protocol that can be quite expensive if not followed). She could not have been more understanding, pausing my order as I dashed outside to fetch it. No rolling of eyes, no judgement, just a "customer-first/no problem" attitude. And, as I was heading out with my wildly full cart, I couldn't help but notice this gal (I found out her name was "Bella" from Elly, another delightful employee at customer service) who was happily dashing between checkout stands helping bag groceries wherever she was needed. It goes without saying (but it shouldn't) that their produce is fantastic. Their fresh flowers are gorgeous. The Copper River salmon I bought from Kathy was incredible...I could go on and on. Oh, and the lavender plants they had out front for $8.99 a piece? WOW! YAY! I know I can forget how much work it takes to make a big store like Fred Meyers run well. I also believe it is proof positive of great management within that store when it does. Employees who trust in their bosses work harder. It's just human nature. We are blessed to have this particular store in our town. Go there, you will agree.

ZERO STARS. Earlier…read morein the week, my husband got a notification that his medication was ready, so he went to the pharmacy to pick up his meds. Once there, he was told that his medication actually WASN'T ready and that it would take 30 minutes to fill. Annoyed, he waits. He is eventually paged to come back to the pharmacy where they inform him that they don't have his medication and don't know when they'll get more in. Cool, thanks for nothing. We take the steps to transfer his medication to Costco (which was no small feat because his medication is a controlled substance, so we had to put a call into to his prescribing doctor on New Years Eve to get the prescription transferred. ) I go today to Costco to pick it up. It's not there either. Apparently Safeway pharmacy did not "release the prescription claim" so Costco could not fill the prescription until that happened. Then I call Safeway pharmacy to request they release the claim. The pharmacy tech on the phone says "We have his meds! We're filling his prescription today. It will be ready after 4pm." Ok fine. At 5pm I go to Safeway to pickup the meds. "Sorry, we don't have them." Um WHAT? It took 3 different pharmacy employees to stare dumbly at a screen and then explain that AFTER I called Safeway, Costco called them and got them to release the claim, so now I have to go BACK to Costco to pick up the medications because the incompetent idiots at Safeway Pharmacy didn't think to call my husband to let him know that no, his meds would actually NOT be ready after 4PM, because they completed the transfer to Costco. By then, the Costco pharmacy was closed so my husband is having to go yet ANOTHER day without his medication which, by now, is a week overdue. All I can say is, thank goodness it wasn't heart medication or some other life-saving drug because if it was, my husband would be dead right now. I will NEVER use this pharmacy EVER again.

Well, they are usually quite cheap, the amount of hassle that I've had to deal with to get my prescription refilled over the last week is no longer worth the effort in any way. I am transferring all of our prescriptions to Costco and won't be going back. Wish I understood what has changed over there because it used to be a great place to get my prescriptions filled.
