Gotta update my review since this 2 star pharmacy needs some love! We had several visits in the past couple weeks because, well, we needed to stock up on our prescriptions. Service has been very efficient lately. The staff members at the drive up window are quick, polite and on point with the orders. Their texting service has been pretty accurate even when I had insurance issues, they responded to my voicemails to remedy the situation. Keep it up, CVS! read more

We have received several vaccines from this location and even though busy the pharmacists have all been pleasant. Not today. At 3 pm we had our vaccine appointments and while I appreciate pharmacists are busy, they charge for giving the flu and covid vaccines and this pharmacist was very unfriendly. She should have been courteous since she jammed the flu vaccine incorrectly in my arm so it broke and splattered all over me and so I had to have another shot. Then she complained about writing in our vaccine books that we keep to we can inform our PCPs. Very disappointing visit and we should have gone to our Giant pharmacy where they are courteous and professional. read more

I've been a frequent flyer at this location. Having had a bad flu, this past 2 weeks offered me the opportunity to visit this place. At the time of my visit their drive thru window was closed all day. No reason just a hand written sign "closed". The lines are always present inside, lots of drop off and pickup prescriptions. Don't go during the day, every retiree is in line. The good thing about this location is their medicine dispensing box. Expired and no longer needs meds can be dropped off for recycling or whatever they do to it. Lots of parking and plenty of self serve checkouts. read more

I think this may be my 2nd review, but if possible, they have made their customer service WORSE. Now, it is impossible to reach the pharmacist in a timely manner bc you can only leave a voice mail for a call back that takes an hour. As a teacher, I don't have access to a phone whenever I want bc I teach! They need to hire more people to make someone available for questions. read more

CVS Minute Clinic is terrible. Had an appointment to get my CDL DOT physical and was turned away because I didn't have paperwork. After I left someone else called me and ask if I was going to show up for my appointment. I said I was turned away. That person proceeded to tell me I they print out the paperwork I didn't need to bring it. This place is screwed up, employees are not properly trained so they have no idea what's going on or how to deal with customers. Manager would not come to the service desk to speak with me because he said it wasn't part of his job to deal directly with customers. Ill never go to CVS again. read more

Gosh, nothing good to say about this place. I stopped here to pick-up one quick item. They had an alternative product that offered buy this and get x free but x was no where to be seen. In fact, the shelf did not even have a spot for it to be stocked. Additionally, the pharmacy opened 15 minutes late today with the line queued up both on person and on the phone. I checked out and was asked if I have a CVS card. Well, I avoid this place as much as possible, but I thought I had one. Nope, neither number matched, and they do not have a "guest" loyalty card like most places do, so I paid full price. A one-star rating was pretty generous. read more

I had a very bad experience at CVS. I get my medication through Script Express and they send that to CVS. When I called them they told me that I could go pick up my medicine at CVS, however I told them that their system did not appear that way and they told me that they have to call them so they can update it and give me my medicine. When I arrived I explained to the cashier and told them that please if they could communicate, a pharmacist (ZACK) came from the back, completely upset, and with a bad attitude, he asked me what you want? And I asked him if he could please call and he said, Do you think I have time? After that he started yelling at me until I ask him if I was going to do it .and finally he called or I don't know, then he told me it's not possible and I told him please I'm not doing it to bother you, I'm short on medication and I feel sick, I called the place myself and told them please answer and they said: NO! Tell them to call me on my phone and I told him but you're in front of me, can you please answer ?and a woman who didn't have an ID approached and answered the phone but started yelling at the person from the other company. I really had low blood pressure and I went to bring a jacket when I returned. If it was possible to give zero stars or negative I would. The only reason I use this pharmacy is because of the proximity to me. However, the pharmacists are extremely rude and unorganized. Prescriptions are not filled correctly or ready when they should be. Instead of having customer care they tell you to come back on another day because they're to busy or it's inconvenient to correct their mistake when you're there. If you're trying to pick up a prescription in the morning, don't even try because the pharmacist is not there when the pharmacy says it is to be open. Worst pharmacy ever. Understaffed. Incompetent. Zero customer orientation. Drive through is even worse. I have had to stand at the window and tap on it to get someone to come help. Pointless. Update: had a doc call in two scripts and dreaded they called it into ruby. The app showed ready but next morning both said I need refills!! So I tried calling and sat on hold 20 min. I finally hopped in car and actually drove there, talked to pharmacist, who just laughed the app off and said he'd call the doc again. I left and got back in car and was still on hold! So I left it. 50 minutes on hold. The whole time I was in there I could hear "one pharmacy call" so now it was principle. When he finally answered I laid into him. He should be fired. I wished there was a negative star. Extremely unorganized and slow. Standing here for 20 mins with one car already left the middle of the line because line is always slow. Also I came last night, 30 mins before closing, waiting in line . There was only one car ahead of me. I had an unpleasant experience with CVS at 19305 Ruby Dr. Leesburg VA, 20176 CVS pharmacy: 1. To get Moderna Covid 19 vaccination as booster, I made a specific appointment on the phone with CVS Covid 19 scheduling team for 2:30 pm here . When I drove there, the staff said they didn't have that. It's out of stock. I said "The reason I just made the appointment an hour ago for here, just because the scheduler said you did have it". 2. I was treated by this same staff, named Hansa, un-respectfully. She was very reluctant to talk. Before I left, I was trying to say "thank you, have a good day". But she did NOT look at me at all, without any response, and without any word, as if NO ONE was talking with her! I have never seen a person behaving like this in a business environments. I went in to get my COVID shot and comes in Courtney from the pharmacy to give it to me. I thought it was nice of her to ask me if I had any questions before I get my vaccine and I did. I asked COURTNEY if I could test positive after getting the vaccine. She turned my question into a one sided discussion and never gave me a direct response. Her response was so rude, "what you are hearing are rumors, you should be careful where you get your information from". I never told her anything besides 1 simple question. I scheduled a rapid COVID-19 test several weeks prior for upcoming travel. Less than 24 hours from the appointment CVS cancelled the appointment with no reason for the cancellation. There were no available appointments to reschedule, and CVS refused to tell me why the appointment was cancelled. Wish I could give 0 stars. Absolutely terrible experience here, save your time and use a different pharmacy. I had a sinus infection which, if you've ever had one, you know is quite painful but can be relieved fairly quickly with medicine. My doctor called the Rx in here at 8 AM. I called to check on it at 10 AM. After going through 20 minutes of useless prompts to speak to a human, the pharmacist was very curt and told me, "We're working on it." I asked how long it would take (I'm supposed to take these meds in the morning) and she told me 30 minutes. I was running errands so gave them until 11:40. The pharmacist in the drive thru told me then that he "was working on it" and to swing back around. 2 minutes later I received a text that it was ready (I think it only took him 2 minutes to fill the Rx). I went back and he said my other Rx wasn't in (the first I'd been told this) so I just took the one and was told to check the next day for my other medicine. The next morning a pharmacist told me the medicine would be delivered later that day so to check with another pharmacist with a computer to reserve it. I waited yet again and spoke to a much nicer pharmacist who said it is on backorder from the company and may or may not be delivered that day. She said she'd transfer the Rx to another CVS. I called the other CVS and they never received the order and told me the backorder is for months. I have been using this CVS since I moved here because it is 2 minutes from my house and has a drive thru. I will never return. There was no urgency or compassion for my pain and need for medication. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

This CVS Pharmacy at Ruby Drive, Lansdown VA is horrible. They don't pick up phone calls when I asked they said staff shortage. My CVS app said I've picked up medicine, I called to see what's happening I never picked up no one answered after almost 1/2 hour pressing this button that button. When I went there there pharmacy said they are short staffed so can't do it will take days. I had to tell them I'll not leave without my medication then they filled my RX after almost an hour. FYI, this CVS Pharmacy was not like that before when they moved our prescription from the one they closed the nearby CVS few years back. Now the situation is too bad. The worse Pharmacy. Last 6-8 months they rarely pick up phone calls. If I had the opportunity to rate it below zero minus rating I'd do that. Also at the front desk Clarke the woman was Very rude to customers. I usually don't rate a pharmacy but this has to be the worst pharmacy in the history of pharmacy's. So I go to the drive through that has two signs that say left lane Covid testing, right lane prescriptions. So the line is four cars deep. So I go to the pharmacy line and I get to another sign that says the lane is closed and out of order. So I have to drive around the building again to get back in line. Now I'm the sixth car in line and I'm mixed into the Covid testing and prescriptions. So I decide to go in and just pick up my daughters prescription. They can't find it in the system. I told them you sent me a text to come pick it up. The lady said we don't have any prescriptions under that name. So I told her would it help if I showed you the text? She said yes. But my phone was in my car so I told her I would go out and get it . Showed her the text and she said she found it under a males name. I asked you asked for the name and birthdate not her sex so why could it not find it the first time? She said again it was under a male not a female. Still don't know why that matters but i digress So she says it's not ready. But the text said your prescription is ready for pick up. She says well, it's not. Can I come back in 20 min? I said sure. Been waiting around a CVS during Covid for a prescription that should have been ready. A drive thru that does not work but they don't tell you in advance so you lose your place in line. This is not the first time this has happened. I'm almost afraid to give the medicine to my daughter because who knows if they screwed that up as well. If I could give a zero I would. Also the lady filling the prescriptions is hacking all over the place. If you don't feel well stay home during a pandemic, just sayin. read more

Truly terrible service. Script was dropped off, we were told to come back in 30 mins, and an hour later they still had to take 30 mins to find and put our order together. They did not notify us initially that the script we were looking for was not in stock, so we didn't even get what we went there for. We ended up going to Harris Teeter which is in the same shopping center. They had what we needed in stock, and completed our order in 15 minutes. We will definitely be going to Harris Teeter for prescriptions in this area in the future. This place is completely unorganized and unprofessional. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. I used to go to the one on Shoppes Lane in Fairfax when I lived there. They would send me a reminder for refill about a week in advance and it would be ready so quick. I'm used to that type of service. Yesterday, I went to this location for the first time. I was told it would take 30 minutes, so I wasted. An hour goes by, and I get a text saying one of my RX is out of supply. I was going to talk to them about it, but they had 3 people in line (one of which they couldn't find their prescription, someone dropping off, and a line of cars). I wish I had seen these terrible reviews before and I would have taken my order elsewhere. read more

If you're the type who appreciates good customer service and timely delivery of prescriptions, then do yourself a solid and avoid the CVS in Landsdowne. My wife and I have given this pharmacy three opportunities to prove to us that the reviews online were just isolated bad experiences. All three experiences have been what I would expect from my Army pharmacies overseas...15 years ago...before the internet and without electricity. This most recent experience included a 2-15 minute waits for the same prescription, even though my doctor called it in 30 minutes prior to my arrival. The tech then tried to tell me the medication was not available in the quantities prescribed, despite having used this same medication twice daily for the last 6 years. They then failed to fill the script as ordered and blamed it on my insurance, which has had no problems paying for my medication in the past. The texh filling the script then said "That's not my problem." (I didn't catch her name, but she's a middle-aged asian lady who apparantly enjoys being rude to customers.) The icing on the cake is the robotic and over-rehearsed "Thank you for your patience, we apologize for the inconvenience. We do appreciate your understanding," offerred at checkout. The cashier said it each time we checked out, so quickly and mumbled as if to check the block, which tells me that making customers wait is EXPECTED. DO NOT GO HERE FOR COVID-19 TESTING! COVID-19 TESTING EXPERIENCE. With as high of profile as COVID-19 is in our area, there isn't a ton of information about where to get tested, how much it costs, how long results take to come back, etc. Here's my recent experience: CVS had a "Find a testing site near you" tool on their web site. The only one that had appointments was Leesburg. I had an appointment for 3:30 on Thursday. To get that, I had to enter my life story, including photos of my insurance card. And, I had to check at least one box indicating I had a symptom. As I had a slight headache, I checked that box. I drove there and there was signage pointing to a drive-through window like at a bank. I was second in line. The person in line in front of me was having a terrible time communicating with the tester behind the window and finally drove off in frustration. I assumed maybe there was a schedule conflict. So, when I get to the window, I understand the problem. The person behind the window did not have a command of the English language. I didn't think it would matter because all of my pertinent information had already been entered on-line. WRONG. This person had to ask me every bit of information I had already entered online. The language barrier turned this process in to a 15-minute effort just to get my name and insurance info. Once we got through that, they gave me a swab kit and instructed me on how to do it. I did it myself and then was directed to place it in a metal box. There must have been 50 tests in the box. I assume all tests from that day were sitting out in the hot sun in that box! WHEN? I took the test on Thursday, 9/17. Per the CVS site, "Results typically take 2-5 days, but may take 6-10 days in times of peak demand." After 4 days I called them and they said I'd have results tomorrow, 9/21. Today is Thursday, 9/24 and still no results. The bummer is that since I did the test, I've gotten flu symptoms including upset stomach, lack of appetite, headache, etc. I am very anxious to get the results. Calling the CVS phone number is absolutely useless. They hang up on you. I found out a neighbor waited 18 days for results from CVS. Hope this helps someone. I'd recommend somewhere other than CVS... particularly the one on Ruby Drive in Leesburg. read more

It's a CVS, so you can't really expect it to be better than mediocre. However, a CVS is sort of an everything store; more convenient than a convenience store. When I needed shoelaces at 2am, CVS is my man. However, for some ridiculous reason, they are no longer open 24 hours. Before I finally moved away from Leesburg, my only option was to drive all the way to Harris Teeter (which I don't think sells shoe laces) or wait until morning. Very frustrating. That being said, this is sort of ridulous. No one is going to go to this place or not based on my review. It's a CVS. You know what CVS is. If it's open and you need something, go there. If not and/or you don't, well maybe just stay home. Not a big deal. read more
