Wow! So many hostile reviews. CVS forces their Pharmacy employees to work extended hours with no breaks even to use the bathroom. These are highly educated people dedicated to their profession working in a high-stress job making sure you get the right medication right at that precious moment when you step up to the counter. CVS is cool I have the app. They sent me so many discounts I feel like I'm getting a good deal so I'm always in there. I guess that's part of the game. But they have a good quality pharmacy that's pretty quick and a huge selection of all the things she would go into a pharmacy or drugstore for plus they're open late. read more

Today is Sat 10/28/2023 around 4pm at CVS located at 20 East Montauk Highway, Lindenhurst, NY 11757. I was trying to pick up some OTC items for my senior citizen parent and the store manager from the front ( she called herself Angelica ) and one of the other cashier in the front are not only rude, but also with extremely bad attitude it feels disrespectful and discriminatory. read more

Many of the complaints on here seem to be about the pharmacy dept. I can't comment on that, but I found the store to be neat, and well organized as well. The aisles were easy to navigate thanks to the hanging signage. I found what I was looking for and was on my way. Checkout was also efficient, despite the line being about 5 people deep and only one cashier. I also used the men's bathroom which I found to be decently clean. The soap dispenser was full and the air dryer worked fine. There was even a faux plant in the corner for ambiance. No complaints from what I experienced. read more

Whoever is in charge of training these employees is doing a terrible job. As a former cvs employee from a different store, ive had to help an employee with basic tasks as far as rainchecks, photo, ringing up photo, using the intercom... things they really should know before being thrown out there on their own. Ive also almost purchased expired and even moldy food products more than id like to admit. Yuck. Most of the employees are polite and helpful but there are a few who are very very rude and you can tell they just dont want to be there. Management can really do better. I've lived in lindenhurst for 30 years. I've always used this cvs, even when they used to be at the now Sand City Brewery. I am appalled at this location and I have been meaning to write a review for some time now. What happened today, simply had me speechless. In the last year, when they had those self check out machines installed,it's like they're forcing customers to use them when they're "short staffed" or simply don't have anyone working up front. Why should anyone be forced to use a machine that hundreds of people are using, and never cleaned? Has Covid taught you nothing? I just had shoulder surgery and was asked if I'm paying by cash or card so that I can use the self checkout and bag my own items in a sling!!?? CVS is paying a cashier to stand there and watch customers check out their own items asking for assistance after the scale not reading the weight of the item thinking you're about to steal, something not scanning properly, or not accepting one of your 1,000 coupons that you give out? Not efficient at all!!!! To add, their shelves are never stocked, and their pharmacy couldn't even fill my prescription today. This location is a FAIL. read more

If I could I give this place zero stars the slowness and the lack of cashiers behind the front counter is crazy. Everytime I'm in there there's a line with one or maybe two people at the registers. Extremely upset with staff at this pharmacy. They switched my birth control pill prescription to a different brand without even letting me or my doctor know, when I asked why they said it's been discontinued and they switched it to the same type of pill but after research I found out it's not the same and two months later the same pharmacy gave me my old prescription. I asked how is it possible if they are not making this brand anymore and pharmacy member said they just weren't getting them delivered for a while and now they are again. They are out of stock on most children's medicines. I bought the only children's ibuprofen they had left and when I got home I noticed it was expired. They barely have any children's cough medicine. I need one that only has the ingredient Guaifenesin so I found one bottle and that was expired too. I get that it's cold season but they should be prepared and definitely shouldn't have expired medicine on the shelf. They are also out of prescription prednisone which my daughter needs and now I have to wait a day or more to give that to her. read more

Amazed that people have no patients to wait for their prescriptions. Every time I go there I must wait about 10 mins and then im out. everyone there is so helpful and will tell you about your medicine if you want to know about it.I go to the drive up side and I get good service I go to the in store counter and get good service, people must realize that they are doing the best that they can while trying to give the best service to everyone.I have a CVS 3 blocks from my house and I choose to go to this one which is about 2 miles away because of the good service i get. Absolutely awful! I ended up taking my business elsewhere after many years of frequent mistakes combined with the most unhelpful, uncaring and often hostile employees at the pharmacy counter. People don't go to a pharmacy because they enjoy taking medication and spending money for no reason. They go because they or their loved ones are ill and they need medication to get well. The undue stress that the employees of this pharmacy put on patients can often end up making their condition worse! I don't know why they are all so miserable and clearly hate their jobs, but I do know I will never fill another prescription there again. I would like to point out however that the employees in the rest of the store seem to be friendly and helpful for the most part. read more

I recommend that you do not use this pharmacy. I dropped off a 3 month prescription in February when I got to the pharmacy they told me they did not have enough for the 3 months so they gave me 2 month charged me my full copay and advised me they owed me 1 month. Today when I went to get the balance they owed me they advised me I would have to pay another copay because they said it was a refill not a balance due. When I asked for an explanation they told to wait and someone would come speak to me. Lucky me the person who came to speak was the supervising pharmacist who spoke to me an a condescending aggressive tone I believe her name was Anna. The treatment I received was unbelievable. As of this moment I am out extra money because of their incompetence. I would never use this pharmacy again and i recommend you go a few miles north and use another cvs. read more

The store itself is great. No complaints about it or the staff in general. However, the pharmacist at this location is the worst I've ever encountered. We've been going there to fill our prescriptions, every single month, since this location opened. They used to have a wonderful pharmacist who was always professional and accommodating. I never had a single problem filing my prescription when he was there. Their new tyrant of a pharmacist treats everyone with suspicion and disgust - especially those who have the audacity to fill certain medications at her counter. She puts things on hold, makes up excuses to not release them and after sometimes dozens of calls from my doctor, acts like she's doing me some huge favor when she finally releases it. My doctor was so fed up he requested that I to go to a different pharmacy so he didn't have to deal with her rudeness every month. I have never been treated so disrespectfully and with such disdain in my life. She talks down to me and takes a particularly twisted delight wielding her "discretion" to fill prescriptions. She treats me like a criminal trying to get away with something even though I've been going to this pharmacy with the same prescription, from the same doctor, every month since it opened. Today was the final straw when refused to fill my prescription. She didn't just put it on hold - she flat out REFUSED to fill it. It's been a long time coming but I will never set foot in this CVS again and will happily take my business elsewhere. My mom-n-pop pharmacy was bought out by CVS. I used them twice in one week and both times I was extremely dissatisfied. They sent me away with 2 of 3 prescriptions with telling me one was missing or the explanation why. The 2nd encounter was similar. Within a day I was able to find another mom-n-pop pharmacy, Care +, and they are amazing. They even filled the prescription that CVS couldn't. Never going back there! read more

I had been going to this location for years as it had been the closest pharmacy in my hometown. Up until this past week, I had no issues with them. That was until they miserably failed to fill a very important prescription for my son. They had over a week to fill it or call me with problems filling it, knowing that we were running out of his med at home. Not ONCE, did they personally call me to advise of a problem. Not ONCE did they have The INTUITIVENESS to transfer the script to a second CVS pharmacy also located in our town just to get the prescription filled in time. When I went there the first time (yes I HAD TO GO IN since they didn't think to call) to find out they were having an INVENTORY issue, I was assured that it would be filled a couple days later. That was OK with me as we still had meds for a few more days. I gave them 2 additional days on top of what they told me they would need to fill the order. I went back a second time and was told they still were waiting on inventory. I asked WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME when you knew we were running out?! The head pharmacist gave me no credible answer. I left thanking her for leaving us with no meds and no alternative. The following day, I called her and told her we were done utilizing their services after decades of being customers. Told her we'd be moving our business to Rite Aid. Horrible service and equally horrible care about the needs of long time customers. I never leave reviews about anything but this incident with this pharmacist moved me to report my experience. read more

if i could leave 0 stars, i would!!! the majority of the store is great. the pharmacy, however, is completely incompetent. i brought my birth control prescription there a few months ago. no one asked me about automatic refills, but less than a month later, i got a text that my prescription was refilled. i was out of town with my husband at the time, and i hadn't called for anything, so i called to check which rx they'd refilled. they refilled my birth control, about a week too early. i told them i'd pick it up in a day or 2, but please remove the automatic refills, i don't want them. every single month up until december, i got a text from them that my rx was ready for pick up. every single month, i'd ask them (politely) to please remove the automatic refills, i will call when i need it. november's automatic refill had me asking for a manager. i calmly explained to her that this was unacceptable, that i should not have to request to remove automatic refills more than one time, but here i am requesting it every month. she claimed that she put a note in my file that i did not want the automatic refills, and to please ask for her if it happened again. i told her a couple of times throughout the conversation that, if it happened again, i was just going to find a new pharmacy. december comes, and i get the text for an automatic refill yet again!!! i go in to pick up my rx, and ask for a copy of the rx itself so i can go to a new pharmacy. the young lady at the counter tells me that this was the last refill, so i won't have to worry about it. not 3 days later, i receive another text that they had contacted my doctor for another refill!!! WHY ARE YOU CONTACTING MY DOCTOR?! i call and they say that it won't be an issue because the doctor denied it. the girl i spoke to, without outright saying it, called me a liar and said that the texts (which i offered to come and show her) were telling me that i was due for a refill, not that it was ready. which, they were not. every single one said "your rx is ready for pick up." i tell them to stop contacting my doctor and that i am going elsewhere. YET AGAIN THIS MORNING, i get a text from them stating that my rx has been submitted for a refill and will be ready for pick up tomorrow!!! i'm absolutely livid at this point. i call them and tell them that they should not have a refill, that they have no right to contact my doctor, and i am not coming to their pharmacy because of this. the entire pharmacy staff is completely incompetent. how difficult is it to remove an auto refill when someone asks??? and then, to insinuate that a customer is lying? plus, they all have a snarky, "i'm better than you and i don't have to listen to you" attitude which is beyond unacceptable for any profession. i'm so glad i was able to find a reliable pharmacy nearby that isn't cvs, i will be going there from now on for all my medications! read more

Reading these old reviews, does not justify the customer service that they have now. Maybe the person who helped them was having a bad day, who knows. I've been in the retail position and the customer service position, it happens. Sometimes the customer is what makes their day bad. From my experience, the customer service is wonderful. They were very helpful and guided me in the right direction for the products that I needed. The manager did a great job hiring the crew he has currently. My dr accidentally filled my prescription here a few months ago, and I have had nothing but problems since. After taking weeks to get in a medication that I was told was in stock one of the pharmacists let it slip that they had the medication but the company doesn't like them to dispense it without questioning the prescribing dr & insurance, and trying to get them to use a different medication. This happened to me twice in a row, and both times I had to go without medication for days no matter how many times I called and asked why I couldn't pick it up. This time I got a text message that a different medication was waiting, and when I called I was told my medication is no longer available and I need to use this one. I explained that I used to be on this medication and I got very sick on it so I need the new medication and the pharmacist was extremely rude and said there's nothing else she can do for me and I can take this one or not, when I said I couldn't take it she said fine & hung up on me. After my call, I googled the medication and found out that not only is it still available, CVS is refusing to sell it anymore. I'm not sure if they have a deal with another manufacturer, but telling patients they need a different medication when it's still available is horrible.
