I am still so angry over my recent experience here last week, and I feel this is the only way people will truly know what an awful pharmacy this is. Now to be fair, I have loved this pharmacy for years. The techs all knew my family and our meds and we never had a problem. However in the last month, they got a new pharmacist "Ron" and subsequently lost a lot of their techs. My son has autism and is on quite a few meds that cannot be missed due to dangerous side effects so we always try to keep everything filled before they run out and this pharmacy always did an excellent job. All of a sudden this last week, meds weren't filled at all. The wait times were ridiculous, for example I waited 45 min in drivethru for them to not have them ready. I was told "tomorrow" four times last week. Finally my poor son was completely out of his meds and missed over a days worth. When I came home Friday evening after a long day working in cardiac surgery my boy was pacing back and forth and so upset. He had a horrible day at school and was dizzy. It was a little before 8 (they close at 10) so I went to the pharmacy to see if they finally had his scripts filled and I also had scripts that his doc had given us that day. When I got to the pharmacy there were a couple people waiting, and I'm not sure how many were waiting in line outside. I could see the pharmacist and techs were busy and he was yelling at his staff. I dropped the scripts off and said I would wait. The tech whispered to the pharmacist Ron and told him we were completely out of meds. He was very rude and said "absolutely not, we are too far behind to fill these tonight". She apologized to me and said they couldn't fill them. They had two hours left before closing! I explained to him that we had waited all week for the one script and he was completely out of meds. He said he couldn't do "anymore favors". Really?! Favors!? He told me it was my fault for not getting there earlier that day. Well excuse me for having to take care of patients late. This is what we do in healthcare! I explained that (and he should know this) it is dangerous to miss psych meds and my son was already symptomatic. He told me it wasn't his problem and that he was going to have to stay late if he filled my scripts--and here I got off late taking care of a critically ill patient. Amongst other horrifying things, he said he didn't care if he lost our family as customers. The tech even pleaded with him to make an exception and fill it and he snapped at her as well. I repeat, they had two hours and I would have been more than willing to wait until they closed. I was in tears at that point and I admit I did finally raise my voice and told him we were done with this pharmacy and would be going elsewhere. He told me nobody in town would be able to help me that night...again, two hours until closing! Fortunately, there was a happy ending. The CVS down the road on sossaman took pity on a tearful, exhausted nurse and filled my scripts within 30 min. They apologized for my treatment at the other store and told me that store had recently lost a lot of employees because of this new pharmacist and had been sending other fed up customers to them. This is a good cvs. Never busy, so getting in and out is a breeze. The pharmacy is great, very helpful, and always have the meds when they say. Use this place avoid walgreens. read more

Today I went to CVS to return 1 package of Rogaine. I explained to Sydney the night shift supervisor that my son was diagnosed with a terminal brain disease and I didn't want him putting anything on his head. I didn't have a receipt because I never planned on returning it. She said there is no way she will take it back. It is her digression and it is over $40. I said I thought it was $30. She said no at there store it is $40. She didn't even look it up. I said I'm going to go and check. She said no your not your through shopping here. Leave right now or I will call the police. All this for trying to return an item. You have your choice of where you spend your money. I wouldn't spend it at CVS. I know it is this women but she is still hired by CVS and they are responsible for her.This CVS is in Mesa on Crimson and Guadalupe. STAY AWAY!!!! read more

As we pulled up to the drive-thru, the Pharmacy Tech- Russell explained the only way we could get our Rx filled in less than a couple hours was to come in and wait for it inside the store. I explained I had children in the car and he told me, "sorry, unless you come inside, we can't fulfill your order quickly" So, I lugged all the kids out of car seats and came inside the store. When talking with the Pharmasict, I told him I was paying cash as I am from out of town and he then told me my Rx would be an absurd amount when paying cash......I reminded him that it was a generic that was called in.....he looked at the Rx again and said, "oh, you DID get the generic" and told me the price was 1/4 of what he originally told me. After this discussion where the pharmacist did his best at making me feel completely stupid for paying cash, he then they told me that my Rx my doc called in wasn't in stock at that store and I will have to go to another store to get my Rx!! That would have been relevant news BEFORE you made me get out of my car and drag all my kids INSIDE!! My father is a doctor in the area and has sworn to NEVER send patients there EVER again to fill Rx. Go to Walgreens or another place to get your Rx filled. Avoid this place if you don't want to be treated like an absolute IDIOT! read more

Store good. Pharmacy service is HORRIBLE!!!!!!! The pharmacy staff is unpleasant, not customer service oriented, and doing business with them is frustrating and mentally taxing. They rarely have prescriptions ready when they say they will be ready. The store staff is great! They are helpful and they are always smiling; however, I couldn't be more displeased with the pharmacy. We have a daughter with a heart condition who requires her meds 3x per day. On one occasion we had just received a new prescription from her cardiologist and had only a days worth of medication on hand to hold us over. We dropped off a new prescription to be filled late one morning and were told it would take 4 hours to fill. We returned 2 hours before closing (more than 4 hours later) and were informed that they would not be able to get to it that day. After explaining our situation and our dismay to the pharmacy manager, we had no other recourse but to take the unfilled prescription back from them and physically take the prescription to another pharmacy. The prescription was filled within just a few minutes. Today, I dropped off another prescription and before leaving they "checked" the prescription to make sure there weren't any "problems" to delay it being filled. They said it would take 3 hours to fill (I still don't know why it takes them hours to do what others can do in minutes). 2 hours later we get a call stating that there is a "problem" with the prescription and that we need to contact our doctor to have him call the pharmacy to state the quantity. After contacting my doctor I was informed that the pharmacy was supposed to call them directly. I then called the pharmacy back and was placed on hold for 9 minutes. After finally speaking with someone about who I was, I was again placed on hold for another 5 minutes before they came back and I was able to explain to them the protocol. They then said that they called the doctors office but they got the after hours message and we're not able to talk to anyone, which means the hung up without listening to the after hours message. The message tells them exactly how to "talk to someone", which is what I did when I called. The Store Staff & Pharmacy Staff are generally very nice. However, the parking lot, sidewalk, garbage cans are disgusting and unkempt. Pay someone to stay on top of it, make it respectable. read more

I can't believe this day and age any customer service based job would allow such an ignorant and incompetent manager such as the one I just spoke with on the phone. Believe me, I understand how difficult and frusterating it can be to work with customers day in and day out and truly know that the customer is not always right!! While out running errands I decided to call this CVS (Guadalupe and Crismon or store 5814, cuz I'm an idiot for not knowing that!!) to see what the return policy is so I could gather everything I needed before adding more work than need be. My grandma who lives in Idaho was visiting for a week and decided to get me a goody bag from this CVS for my upcoming birthday as she was leaving to go back to Idaho. With the bag she left the receipt and told me to take back whatever I didn't want and just get the cash so I could use it towards something else; world ending complications, right!?!?. Also working in customer service and having extensive experience in retail, I know this isn't a new or first time a situation like this would occur, enter Tonia. After explaining my situation to Tonia "the manager," and asking her what the options were: in-store credit, money goes back on the card used for purchase, cash back?? Apparently this is a taboo issue for the CVS on Crismon and especially Tonia. Annoyed, Tonia rudely informed me that CVS no longer has a return policy and as she put it, "All returns are subject to the manager's discretion, and I AM THE MANAGER so bring it in and if I decide it is returnable I'll tell you what your options are!!! Reading that it doesn;t sound too awful, but unfortunately I cannot input her snarky, dissmisive, and seemingly bitter tone and attitude towards an incredibly easy and innocent question!! WOW Tonia, cudos to you, you have really made something of yourself!! The all mighty magic wand Tonia possesses shall ever determine the fate of all poor souls who need to return something. I'm not a fan of writing reviews for negative experiences because we all have bad days and lets face it, people are A**Holes, which I am not exempt from. However, in this situation I was not the A**Hole and I was completely shocked and caught off guard by the poor, short, and rude communication by a so-called "manager" (which she made very clear she was just that) for something I thought would be so easy. Sorry if you're having a bad day Tonia, unfortunately there will be many more!! But in this situation, you were an A**Hole for no reason and as the "MANAGER" I really hope you don't rule the store, other employees, and customers as if you are the almighty because you have been given a little bit of authority. I like going to this CVS, it's convenient for me because I live right next to it. But I have a problem with the managers because I've noticed a lot of yelling at kids from anywhere 12-18 mostly the younger kids but, my little brother gets yelled at because kids his aged a labeled as theifs and it upsets him because the managers there, not all just a couple, but they yell at him and they believe he's a theif too. He has never stolen anything before but he gets yelled at and questioned and even gets in trouble for asking people for money. Wouldn't you think it would be better for kids asking for money so know one would steal?! That's what I would think but I guess not them. Anyways if this comment does anything I hope it opens their mind a little and stop giving kids a hard time if they aren't stealing or doing anything wrong. I've been a customer at this location for a few years now. Never had a problem with the pharmacy up until today. The pharmacy tech Kathy was extremely unprofessional today while updating my insurance information. She pretended she couldn't hear me well, so I had to repeat my information a few times for her. She rolled her eyes at me a few times while updating my file and then, after I left, I overheard her talking about me with the next customer in line. I will avoid using this pharmacy from now on. I am extremely disappointed that this CVS location has let a horrendous person (Tonya Butler) become a manager of their establishment. This is the second time I have a horrible experience with her, this time however I must let others be aware of her actions. After shopping in the store and getting no great welcoming or help from her once again, (The first time she was even worse and refused to finish my purchases when I asked her why she was so grumpy) anyway this time I listened as she and another employee were talking about makeup. The "manager" said she would never buy the makeup here and that she only shops Sephora. It was very rude as I was looking in the makeup section, 10 minutes later I hear them talking about the lady who just left, they were saying how she should never breed again because her child was ugly and disgusting. I was outraged and approached her and said this is no way to act in customer service which her response was a dirty look. I told her to to not give me a dirty look and she said "If I was giving you a dirty look you would know it, it would be like this" A(Dirtier look)! Corp will hear from me and I will be spreading the word about Tonya Butler so that no one else will have to feel so uncomfortable that they leave and choose a different store for their services. read more

If you need a prescription filled the same day, go elsewhere! I just want to start off by saying I really like this store, besides the pharmacy. The store manager and workers in the regular part of the store are awesome! I go to this store several times a week and always feel welcome, and they have most of the things I need. The pharmacy however has gone downhill so much, that I will not be using this pharmacy anymore. I will drive out of my way to go somewhere else to have prescriptions filled. I have been going to this pharmacy for several years with nothing but nice things to say, but in the past few months a lot of the pharmacy staff has changed, and they are incompetent at their jobs, unfriendly, and inconsiderate. I have a once a month prescription I pick up on the same day every 4 weeks. The pharmacy has always filled it on the same day every 4 weeks and would just call me to let me know it was ready to be picked up. The last 2 months they stopped calling. I called them to make sure they would have it filled, which is no problem for me to call, and got a confirmed time to pick it up. I called approximately 8 hours ahead of time both times. Last month they told me I had to come back the next day when I went to pick it up at the confirmed time. An hour later, I got a phone call saying it was ready. Today I also called 8 hours ahead of time with a confirmed pick up time. When I arrived to pick it up, an unfriendly young female casually said oh we don't have ithat one in stock. Come back tomorrow afternoon. No apologizes or anything! I think a phone call to let me know it wasn't in stock anytime throughout the 8 hour span of time would of been a nice thing to do, but since these people don't seem to be nice, I will not be going back to this pharmacy. It's not like I have ever seen this pharmacy booming with business, as it is not in a busy area of the city. I'm pretty sure they would of had a minute to make a quick phone call so I wouldn't waste my time going there. I will no longer be going back to this pharmacy, and will drive out of my way to a pharmacy where the people are friendly and considerate, as I believe most people are. I will continue to shop in the non pharmacy area of the store though. read more

My cardiologist called in a prescription last week to this CVS. I have 7 mo old twins, so I usually call to make sure the Rx is ready before I go to pick it up. I called and they said that they were just finishing it up. I had stuff to do, so about an hour after they said it was ready. I pulled up in the drive thru since I had the twins. The tech said my prescription wasn't ready and it would be about an hour. I explained to him that i had already called an hour ago and I was told it was ready. He said, oh well, it's not ready, so come back in an hour. I asked why I was told it was ready an hour ago and he said, I don't know, but you need to pull forward. I said, you know what, nevermind, can you fax the rx to the CVS on sossoman and Guadalupe. He said no, you will have to call them and tell them try request it. So I called them and he said, you need to get out of my line. I told him that he isn't done helping me. He rolled his eyes and kept telling me to pull forward out of his line. He kept making faces and then closed his window until I drove away. The CVS on sossoman requested the rx and had it filled for me in under 30min. They are so much nicer there too and way more professional and just friendly. read more
