I'm in this area once in a while, and although the inventory could be better, I don't recall having too big a problem here. But today was an unmitigated disaster. I encountered an unfriendly employee just for asking where something was, the main refrigerator housing the soda was not working (although there was a smaller one in front of the store), the checkout line was very long and chaotic, I needed help with the checkout machine (and I don't think it was entirely my fault), and the chicken salad sandwich that I bought tasted old (I threw half of it out). 2 stars based on today's experience. read more

I can't even begin to describe how dysfunctional this pharmacy is and how rude some of the staff are. I was going to a local pharmacy which was one million times better but unfortunately needed to switch to this one because of my insurance. They make so many mistakes and there is no accountability. Every time I need to call to sort out their mistakes I first need to spend fifteen minutes speaking to an automated service that does not work and then get put on hold and then maybe eventually speak to a person. Today and most visits I've had the pleasure of dealing with Christine, Trissa, Kulsum, Margo, Jessica and Dara in the Pharmacy. Super nice and so is Ruth who works in the front of the store. Kevon is nice too. My only gripe is this place always has the Best amazing sales on stuff I need to stay away from. Rite Aid and Duane Reade never have good sales. CVS in the Lenox Hill neighborhood is just as crazy as the rest. Everything is hit or miss. Sometimes you can get assistance and other times they don't have enough employees available. I'm so sick of running to CVS with the coupons I gave these to my daughter. She'll stop in and get herself something and save. Sometimes she gets what I need. I don't want to be bothered right now! The experience was terrible. 10-15 min wait to check in for a vaccine appointment. Then "have a seat, it will be 10 min". I wave at the clerk after waiting 15 min and after another 15 min, a bewildered looking "pharmacist" asks me to check in again at the counter so he could use the chair to give a vaccine to the customer after me. No apology for the inconvenience from anyone, and no accountability (staff refused to provide their names). After 45 wasted minutes of my time, I asked to cancel the appointment due to lack of confidence in the staff. Manager, I can identify them if you'd like to provide training on customer service and basic manners. I then received a text my appt was canceled due to "insurance issues". I was not informed of any issues while I was there. The staff at this location is not equipped to handle the large volume. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

CVS pharmacy has different rules and regulations than other pharmacies around the country just because they are in New York. They don't have to be fucking New Yorkers and I mean that in a good way they think they have the authority of surgeons, brain surgeon, and in reality they understand what a drug is what is made of that's great. I waited for 15 minutes in the prescription pick up line. When it was my turn the associate said there's in issue with my Rx and I have to go to the drop off line. Which is down the aisle and around the corner. 3x as long as the very long pick up line. I got the the front of the line, a lifetime later, to be told the medication is out of stock. The pharmacy here is the absolute worst. They harass you many times by text and phone to pick up your prescriptions and when you go there they usually don't have them ready and make you wait at least 30 minutes. They also give you an option for "free delivery" but if you select it they tell you several days after confirming that your delivery is "on the way" that you need to pick it up in the store. When you do, it's back to the usual horrendous customer service and they make you pay again even tonight you already paid online. Also, the entire pharmacy crew goes on break at the same time so you're out of luck if you show up then. They are the worst business I've ever dealt with. Avoid at all cost! Here's what the prescription line looks like with about 10 people also behind me. Just looked on my billing and they charged me three times for one prescription and twice for another. Worst CVS in the city. Over the past several months since I started using them, they misplaced a prescription; failed multiple times to let me know when medication that have been ordered was not available and was going to be delayed; delivery service generally has taken two days because they use a third-party service, and if the service hasn't received the medication by a certain time, it's too late for the next day delivery; and once a medication has been picked up by the delivery service, the people in the pharmacy have no way of tracking to find out where it is or when it will actually be delivered. I'm stuck using them because my health insurance uses CVS as a preferred provider, and if I go anywhere else, I will have to pay a hefty co-pay. There should be a warning on their website not to use this location if a prescription needs to be filled quickly and reliably. read more

The WORST. Got a voicemail that my script was ready and when I get there, they can't find it. I wait in the customer service line for half an hour at which point I'm told they found it the but out-of-pocket price is 2.5 times what's listed on my insurance website specifically for this CVS location. The insurance company can't give me any details on the price discrepancy. I go back to have the script transferred to Amazon (where the price is 75% cheaper!) and the customer service woman fills out a form and says the pharmacist will transfer it within 15 minutes. A day later it's not transferred, they have no idea where that form is (and the pharmacist says there is no such thing as a form and Amazon has to get touch). I already had Amazon's pharmacy send two fax requests and they made two phone calls, none of which CVS says they received. read more

Automated system said medications were ready but when my husband went pick them up they gave him wrong one. I called and went over the 4 new medications and they said all of them were filled but when my husband went pick them up again they had only 3. I have just had it with this pharmacy. I've been going there for years because it's 24 hours, but that's the only positive thing I can say right now. Doctor sent in prescription; was listed online as "In Process" for days. Go to pharmacy, pharmacy doesn't know what's up, when it'll be ready, if anything is wrong. Then I call, they tell me there's an insurance issue and the prescription needs to be rewritten. I get the prescription reissued. Why they couldn't bother to notify me instead of fruitlessly trying to contact the doctor, I don't know. Second prescription, still listed as "In Process" for days. Go to pharmacy, ask what's up, guy at counter basically shrugs his shoulders at me, doesn't know what's up, tells me that even if the prescription is brand name, it will show up as generic in my account online. Go to pharmacy again, this time directed to speak to someone else, who then tells me that the prescription needs to be rewritten again. It's now been 10 days since the first prescription was written, and only my repeated follow-ups have gotten me anywhere because no one reached out. Third prescription, online it now lists the drug under the brand name, directly contradicting what I was told earlier. Now says that the prescription will be filled on 01/12/2022, around a month after first prescription was written. I try to call the pharmacy twice to get more information, but the phone rings a few times and gives me a busy signal. The saga continues. Thanks, CVS. read more

Since the 68th street store closed this store is out of control in terms of waits, lines, and not telling the truth about medication availability. In addition they have discontinued all deliveries in a neighborhood with a lot of elderly customers. Recently the store has been so overwhelmed that I was told they had my meds in stock, but we're too busy to unpack the shipment, so I should come back tomorrow. Would give zero stars if I could. Past 3 days day and night only outgoing voicemail in pharmacy. CVS regular pharmacy staff shortage at this location. Aetna, my doctor and me all calling day and night. No return phone calls for voicemail. They actively lie about/fradulently input the wrong codes in customer accounts for an ADHD medication they know is on shortage list, but lie and code for "too soon to refill", which forces customers to have to call to get lifted, because the secret codes don't update by themselves, and they know customers can't get through to speak to anyone because they just set incoming calls to "leave a voicemail". Called Aetna, of course these ADHD meds were covered under my insurance for refill all last year and of course are still covereed. Aetna called this pharmacy 3x this week, only got voicemail, tonight Aetna rep finally got through, she was told my ADHD med was "out of stock" with no information about when it would be refilled. But again, my CVS account continued to show "too soon to refill". Got a call back tonight, finally, pharmacy rep insisted 5 times Aetna does not cover this ADHD medication even though the Aetna rep is on the other line and this medication has been getting covered all previous months. CVS pharmacy rep is adamant Aetna doesn't cover my med and so I had to keep repeating/asserting that Aetna spoke to pharmacy 30 minutes ago and CVS said its not in stock, also that this medication is covered by Aetna. This rep lies and says she tries putting it through, and says it comes back rejected that its not covered, and I again repeat, the Aetna rep **is on the other line right now and says its covered and I have already picked up this covered med previous months**. She tries putting through again and magically, oh, its magically, its covered *and* magically, its in stock. CVS pharmacy can't keep or retain any pharmacy staff. This is passed on to customers who need lifesaving medications, unlike my medications which are not lifesaving. I can't imagine being elderly, not speaking the language well, or being disabled and having to deal with CVS pharmacy for lifesaving meds. read more

If I could give this CVS pharmacy no stars or negative stars I would. I have been calling to speak to the pharmacist for two weeks, sometimes even holding on the phone for an hour and a half. No one answers the phone. I'm in a motorized scooter, unwell and unless my husband goes there, I don't have a direct line to speak to the pharmacist. I called the office manager twice who said they were transferring my call to the pharmacy and physically going to walk back to the pharmacy to have them pick up..... well, I'm still holding on for a half hour again, no one has picked up. The people who work in the pharmacy are fantastic but as others have said,very very overworked. They close for lunch and don't bother to put up a sign-and its pretty obvious they are working hard behind the closed gates. There are so many hospitals and doctor's offices and labs around here that the pharmacy staff is just slammed. I hope they can hire more people soon. Many of the customers are,however,nuts. They form their own lines all over the store and object if people stand in the actual pick up or drop off lines,scream,curse,actually push other customers,very unpleasant environment. This is a great CVS. It is conveniently located. I love the discounts they send in the e-mail and that you don't have to carry a rewards card with you to take advantage of sales (they can do a search with your home phone number). I also love the serve yourself check-out. CVS also carries two relatively high end European skincare lines. Vichy and La Roche Posay. Both very good lines and somewhat reasonably priced. They also have a huge selection of baby products which came in very handy when my girls were infants. read more

This CVS is seriously the worst. I hate coming here, but it's right off the subway and convenient to my apartment - plus my pharmacy is here. The checkout line is always extremely long, typically one or more of the self checkout machines are down, the place is a mess, they're short staffed, and today they didn't even have basic products like cotton rounds and orange juice. Also today, one of the regular cash registers is down and the cashiers are having casual conversation while a line is forming halfway down the store. One man asked when the juice would be back in stock and an employee said he didn't know and just walked away while the man was trying to talk to him. Coming here is a miserable experience. I feel like no one leaves reviews for CVS unless they're upset, so here is the opposite: I was in a rush to get some cream for our child and the prescription was sent to the wrong CVS. The pharmacist worked with me while I was on the phone and showed concern. It gets busy but it's open 24/7! I have also seen some of the pharmacists get treated pretty roughly by some customers and deal with it really well. I think some of the frustration may be due to staffing when it's busy, but overall I've had a good experience here. read more
