The only reason I'm giving this place one star is because i work right by it and I purposely avoid going or even walking by this cvs, including my coworkers. The reason is the people that are sitting outside with a collection box... As soon as you come in or come out or just walk by they ask for money. The other day I just happened to purposely look at the collection box to see what the cause was and it said "love donation" with some bogus pictures...Really?? Don't ask me for money, I clearly see you're asking for money so if I feel like "donating" something, leave it up to me. Stay away from the pharmacy!! Pharmacist Romney Hoang, filled a prescription for me on Sept 1 for a drug that I am allergic to. It even states so on my profile. He was very negligent, careless, and didn't do his job properly. I have been suffering with a fever now for two days and since I dont have permanent damage nor did something worse occur, I can't sue for malpractice. Tha absolute worst, especially if your a veteran in the VA system don't go there!! I arrived Sunday eve with prescription and was told by "Jason" the pharmacist every excuse in the book not to fill , so I suffers through out the nite , I did go to a cvs in coyote park, Long Beach and they pleasantly filled the order at 5 am the next morning I live 3 blocks from the Newport CVS in west cliff shopping , do yourself a favor if you need pharmacy attention , the pharmacist didn't know what he was doing and Ill prepared to help in any way, I wouldn't even ask that guy where the drinking fountain is, he'd just give an excuse! read more

It's unfortunate that when I stop by to get my prescription they are unable to it. Unless there is an actual order placed and if I need to order it it takes 2 to 3 weeks for me to be able to get it because they only have one pharmacist and that person is on vacation. This was my second attempt to try to use this pharmacy but yet again they have failed in being able to provide this service that they are offering. 17 minutes on hold. When they answer the phone to ask if you will hold please they don't even finish saying it before you they hang up . I get better service at mcdonalds and this is where I'm supposed to pick up medicine. I have been coming here for a year and it is ALWAYLS like this. They call me to say my prescription is ready, when I get there , it's not ready. They insist on calling me by my first name and I think that's rude, I would rather be called Mr R. The Mexican guy that works there still hits on my wife everytime, and sometimes I catch him staring when I'm not by her. The non pharmacy store is wonderful. Pharmacy always seems to have some kind of problem filling prescriptions, from losing the order five minutes after handing it to them, to system crashes, or lengthy wait times, it's always a battle to get anything from here. But hey at least they allow you to wander aimlessly around the store in the hour and a half it takes to fill your rX. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. I would never choose to go here but pick up items occasionally for my grandma. I agree with the previous review, bad attitudes from pharmacists, saying the meds are ready when they aren't, saying they never received it, saying they will call when they don't, and the list goes on. The most frustrating part is the line that is always a million miles long, whether you are dropping off or picking up. Everyone in the line gives an angry look as they walk up and shake their heads like they were hoping that in between the last time and this time CVS would have corrected the problem. And when I was standing there today I saw the stands filled with bags of drugs ready to pick up and realized how insanely understaffed they were. This pharmacy has been understaffed for as long as it opened, hire more people!!! And good luck in flu season when they add the service of giving flu shots. They take the pharmacists out of the pharmacy and line lengths quadruple. I don't understand why anyone goes there if their insurance doesn't explicitly state that they must go to a CVS. Rite Aid has a drive through and I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. The lady in the makeup department with the blonde hair is so sacastically rude and always has some smug comment to make. From the second you walk in she makes you feel unwelcome and follows you around like you are a shoplifter. Its almost hilarious she think this is like a high end beauty store. I wasn't going to write a review when it happened the first time but this is literally like my 5th time going there and each time she is just as rude. Never asks if you need any help but makes comments such as " don't worry Im watching you to make sure you get what you need". If I said that to my customers at work I would be fired instantly its unbelievable CVS allows her to treat customers this way. She makes you feel uncomfortable for even browsing or comparing deals and she expects you to walk in and know exactly what you want to buy or its like your a bothering her you are in her section. This employee stereotypes you from second you enter the door and honestly her coworkers are just as bad. Watched a girl stock a bunch of razors before she helped the long line of people and then when she did ring me up she charged me for 2 of the razors she was stocking. I go "those aren't mine" and she was all "oh really!?" is I replied " you were just stocking them and left them there". LMAO.. Fantastic Location! Usually has just what I'm looking for, cosmetics can be on sale with nice deals. Usually only buy 2 things there, lipstain and Qtips. Lipstain is usually buy one get one, which is better than Ulta just down the way. Otherwise, I have no idea what else I'd ever buy here. I just had an accident n have to take my pain meds regularly it literally takes him 1 whole hr to refill it and the pills were wrong!!! Different type of what I've been taking in regular basis. Very poor costumer service. Was visiting from out of town and got in car accident. My wife had prescription late night following discharge from ED. It was only nearby 24 hr pharmacy. At 1am turned away due to "computer issues", asked to return at 5am. Upon return at 7am was told they were out of stock of the required prescription. Mind you this was an extremely common medication and should only be out of stock due to poor inventory management. Completely unapologetic about two wasted trips to their pharmacy. I went in to purchase 4 items. The self checkout malfunctioned. The employee didn't know what to do. The manager on duty- Craig, couldn't be bothered. I finally gave up after 25 minutes if trying to purchase my items when my daughter came into the concerned why it was taking so long. Craig argued with me about the posted sales! He said I couldn't do math! I suggested he could at least apologize for the inconvenience of the first machine breaking down and the struggling to transfer the transaction and then void the transaction. His response was "whatever". I told him part of his job was customer service and he was being incredibly rude. He told me to call his boss if I wasn't happy with how he did his job. The other employee tried to step in and apologize. Craig said "just let her complain." I left without purchasing anything and completely shocked that CVS encourages this type of customer service. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY!!!!!!!! These pharmacists should not be working, or maybe they need to go back to school,, not sure. I unfortunetly had a prescription transferred to this pharmacy and boy was that a BIG MISTAKE! I am 7 months pregnant and my prescription was filled incorrectly, the only put 1/2 the amount that was stated on the bottle, so i called and let them know thinking it would be an easy fix because they made a mistake but NOOOOOOO the pharmacy tech who answered said i had to come in and show them because on their computer it says a different amount. The pharmacy is terrible! The customer service is crap and they always put you on hold and never check back with you, so you have to call serval times to even get someone to take you off hold. They are the Worst!!!!! The only reason I go here is because it's 24 hour and I can't always get there during business hours. This review is only for ROSS or RUSS who was cashiering tonight. What a rude and unhappy person! I live next door and am always in here. I stopped in for some makeup and stuff and I go to checkout and him and another guy standing at a register force me over to self checkout. And I'm like ok I'll try but the scanners on makeup are too small. So my stuff of course doesn't scan. So now I have to go wait in a line for the register I was originally at. And ROSS rings me up. No smile. No how are you. I mean I get it's CVS but it's the beach. Then he doesn't offer me a bag so after I pay I'm like can I get a bag please? I have 10 plus mini things I'm buying I need a bag! I had to drop off a prescription and the drop off line was ridiculous! Took me well over20min due to customers in front of me getting their flu shots &/ arguing about their instance coverage.... By the time I got to the window it was quick and easy. Pick up tomorrow at 8am! ....so tomorrow comes and I am their right at 8am... No line! Just walk right up to the pick up window and my prescription isn't ready?!!! Not only did I arrive when I said I would but they had 24hrs to fill it. They said it would be a few minutes so I wait.... And wait.... And wait.,.. Till I just say I'll be back. (Errands to run and my dogs were on the car) So now it's 1pm and I return and the pick up line is another 20min wait... (Thy had all three windows open, which helped move ppl along) I get to the window after 10-15min and my order is ready, and what makes this place 4stars is they gave my total amount on both prescriptions 10$ off. I took in a prescription for a pain killer for my granddaughter who just had all 4 wisdom teeth surgically extracted. They told me they had none in stock and would have to order it. Order it, for heavens sake in what world does a pharmacy not carry one of the most widely used pain killers. Then when I went in the next day, they still did not have it and when I spot to the manager I got the same excuse. They had to order it. Well, when are they going to order it when my Granddaughter graduates high school???? This is totally unacceptable. Pain medication should always be available at a pharmacy. Fraud!!! Over time I have collected my CVS Rewards receipts that rarely come after I buy something. In total all of my Rewards cards equaled to about 38 dollars. Before taking my rewards into CVS I checked the expiration date and such to make sure none of them were expired of course. So buying a bouncy ball for $7.29 I planned to use my rewards. My friend next to me was buying a twix bar and had the same problem. The older man working at the self checkout was a bit oblivious. I kept scanning the rewards card receipt and it kept saying coupon not accepted. I have used these types of rewards coupons before and I have had no issue. The older man working there kept telling me it was expired which I KNOW FOR A FACT IT WAS NOT. Because like I had said before I checked before coming in to see if it was expired. So I knew that couldn't of been true!! So he made me cancel my order. Knowing that I had ten more dollars of rewards I went to grab it case the others had a special problem. Although the dumbfounded old man yet again said I couldn't use it because it was invalid. Which I would like to point out that before he said it was expired and next he said it was invalid due to other problems. So going to the manager that I have always liked a lot after the older working man saying it was false and it doesn't work for about thirty minutes. He tells me (The Manager) that the coupon do not work for some reason. So old man took 48 dollars worth of rewards and ripped them up. I did not flip one on the staff for its stupidity but yet I decided to take my words to Yelp!! Beware of rip-off prices. I had a prescription filled at this pharmacy and it came out to $99.99. ( I guess they felt I would feel better that they game me a penny back from my $100.0 I then got the medicine and brought it home and called Costco. The same medicine there was $16 dollar! Stay away from this place if you are buying drugs out of pocket. I also had issues with being dropped off the line and getting my prescription filled.. I did a little shopping this morning. I spent some money here on some nice lotions for my hands and body. I received a phone call for my job. I was on the phone and david approached me and asked me to check out. The contractor who called the property management business said that David had no right to ask me to check out especially when I am on a company business call. The contractor told me that he should have respected the business call that I was on. I really like this store but because of David I will never be back to this location again.
