Not a great experience to this store. Mainly due to them not having the 3 items I was looking for in stock. They are having a "buy 1, get 1 50% off" which cleaned out the shelves for these items. I was here to pickup my photos that I ordered online, I went inside it felt good But did not knew where the photo section was, I saw an assosiate standing by the photo section so I asked, "Hey Sir, I have a order for photos, do you know where the photos section is?" He replied saying "Do you see that big a** line?" I said yes, then he replied saying, "There it is, GO!" I was so devastaded after that. I placed a pick up order at this store, I usually order here when Channel Islands doesn't have everything. I ordered on Sat. 9/13 morning and never received my text/email that my order was ready for pickup. On Sunday I called the store at 10:00am No Answer? Called 3 times just rang and Rang? Finally I had someone drive me over there? 1 young man working in the store? No one else in sight? Long story short No one pulled my order? I had to do it myself! This is the first time this has happened here but obviously not enough employees. I don't know if he was the manager but he was doing the best he could. I pulled my own order and we squared up etc. I didn't even get a "Sorry we dropped the ball" etc. but I couldn't be mad. This person was alone doing his best. If there was a show about a pharmacy stuck in purgatory, this would be it. I used to avoid it, but now all the other pharmacies in our area have shut down. It's always had problems looking like a worn down warehouse with a crime problem (cameras blatantly throughout) and has always been severely understaffed at the front. Periodically alarms would randomly be stuck on and one would have to deal with the endless pealing of alarms that could not be turned off. Now, that more people have been forced to come here for meds, the staffing on a sat seems to be stuck at 1 at the front with no help. It got worse, not better. The pharmacy, ironically, is great. Well staffed, knowledgeable and helpful. Not enough to pull up my rating overall, though. read more

Cuco is the worst when it comes to customer service. There were 2 lines formed. I chose to stand in his line because he had an item at his register that I wanted to purchase. There was a lady ahead of me and the other line had 2 people. All of a sudden cuco started yelling that there is only one line. By this point the other line had 5 people in it. He decides he is going to help the lady in front of me and started pointing at me that I need to go to the other line. I told him I've been here before all those people and that I'm not going to lose my place in line. He started telling me how it's always been one line and that people get confused when there are 2 lines. First of all, there are no signs that say anything about a line being at a specific spot. Second, the reasons he was giving me as to why I need to go to the back of the line have nothing to do with me. He was talking to me like I was stupid in front of all those other customers. He treated me like I purposefully cut in line which was not the case. Then to top it all off, he scanned the wrong item and got mad at me. He started throwing the items around. This is such a danger zone when it comes to shopping in this plaza because it's really sketchy (in either day or night). Surprisingly, I'd feel more comfortable going across the street to Walgreens but since my sister works for CVS pharmacy, the deals are with CVS. I've only came here for the pharmacy all the way in the back and it's never quick and easy. It's more of the opposite: slow and complicated :( There's usually a good number of pharm techs in the pharmacy department but it takes forever to get the prescription dropped off or picked up. Also, this morning, their computer system failed where they have been 6 hours behind on filling prescriptions and whatnot. I guess accidents happen but damn, it's almost like a hospital that underwent a blackout for 6 hours :( They really need to upgrade their computer systems so that doesn't happen again for the customers and for themselves. read more

My son was seen at the urgent care and ended up having Covid, pink eye and an ear infection. I got a notification that the amoxicillin was delayed, which is what I needed most, so I called to see if they had it in stock. The person who answered was extremely rude and when I was explaining to her what was going on she kept cutting me off and telling me I needed to stop talking and listen to her. I visited this pharmacy yesterday and was impressed by the care that this specific store offered in comparison to my usual (7850 Telegraph Road) CVS, as they were out of my meds for several days. Exene, the cashier/pharmacy tech, went above and beyond to show me where another item was located she was personable, plus helped me to save $20 on my medication (monthly save that amount). Thank you to Exene and the female pharmacist (please forgive me, as I didn't catch your name) who went above and beyond to figure out the process so that I could use a coupon on my very expensive medication, plus then tell me how to have my normal CVS process it because they have given me the excuse that my coupon can't be used... The team was so impressive that I am seriously considering switching from the Ventura CVS which is in walking distance from my house to Oxnard 10 miles/20 minutes. Went in today to pick up my elderly mother's meds. The doctor ordered Humulin, however when I went to pick it up, they were trying to give me Novalin - something comparable but not what my mother has been taking (and getting refilled at this pharmacy for a few years now). The associate told me she called the doctors office because their system said that Humulin was not covered by my moms insurance and that he approved the alternate medication. I asked Cheyenne how it couldn't be covered when my mom has been picking the same meds there's for quite some time now. I gave her the RX number from the last order we picked up there and she was unable to locate it or explain anything. I finally asked to talk to the pharmacist and within a few minutes the pharmacist was able to see that Humulin was covered, and that it will be ready for pick up tomorrow. Lesson here for me is: make sure you check the meds they give you at pick up. Had my mother come and pick it up she would have automatically taken the meds assuming it was okay and not have asked questions. If you feel something isn't right, then ask questions until you feel at peace with it. I'm thankful the pharmacist stepped in and fixed what the associate "assumed" would be correct. read more

Typically, I get my prescriptions filled at Costco and only come to this CVS if I know that I won't have time to go to Costco. There is never a line at the drop off window, but the technicians aren't the friendliest. They always look miserable and they take a little too long to let you know if they have the medication in stock. It shouldn't take more than 60 seconds to check your inventory. Plus, they never give wait times. They'll just assure you that'll your prescription will be done "soon". As for the pick-up end, it's a total nightmare! There's always a line; even if there's 2 cashiers working, the line will still be like morning traffic on the 405 freeway. ALWAYS CHECK THAT YOUR PRESCRIPTION WAS TYPED AND FILLED CORRECTLY! I turned in 2 prescriptions for my kids (1 for each child) for their inhalers, but each prescription had a different set of directions. When I picked up their inhalers, not only did the technician type the wrong directions, but the pharmacist argued with me and said that it was correct! [Side note: I used to work as a pharmacy technician and was very familiar with how other pharmacies "worked" so I would always take a photo of the prescription(s) for my personal records.] I know better than to question a medical professional about their job, but I know what was supposed to be typed on there because the doctor told me so AND I can read prescription/medical abbreviations. I asked the pharmacist to look at the prescription one more time or to even call the doctor's office... long story short, I was right and she saw where the mistake was made. The worst part is that she refused to re-do the labels. Who does that?! Legally, she has to do it! Just try to avoid coming here unless you really, really, really have to. read more

I don't completely understand the previous reviews on why this place was given the bottom of the barrel star ratings. Yes, it's true this store isn't in Beverly Hills on Rodeo Drive.. But you can't judge a book by its cover or should I say can't judge a store by its location. It is in the heart if Oxnard, therefore is busy at certain times of the day. Therefore it's good to come to the store on their "slower hours." I am a patron to this facility primarily for their pharmacy. My ins covers my meds at this location at no cost. If that means coming to a facility that is located in a not so good location, that may be slower than other pharmacies then so be it. You get what you pay for. If you don't like, get a better insurance that provides better pharmacy locations. I was recently here for a passport picture. The last who helped me allowed me to take multiple pictures until I was happy. Personally, that's great customer service. She walked me through the process and was very friendly throughout. I will refer my friends and family here should they ever need a passport picture. read more

This CVS pharmacy on 551 South Ventura RD has been wonderful to me. On Saturday 7/2/22 I called in & Revi at the pharmacy was so accommodating. She made sure my prescription would be ready for me. I She was so nice. This pharmacy has a great staff. Everyone is professional & considerate. I appreciate that. The pharmacy I transferred from on Oxnard Bl, has the worst pharmacy manager Derek Sampey. He condones his sociopathic pharmacy technician Cindy to be nasty to customers. She has a long history of it. Under the previous CVS pharmacy manager Orlando, Cindy got less complaints because Orlando didn't tolerate unprofessional & belligerent behavior from his employees. Derek Sampey on the other hand is an enabler & Cindy's lapdog. At CVS pharmacy on Ventura RD; Paul Kang is the best pharmacy manager. This CVS pharmacy has a much bigger selection of everything. Even their supplements costs less here. I recommend this CVS pharmacy. read more

I received a text that I had a prescription ready for pick up and that it's the last day. However, I live an hour and a half away and the prescription is for my grandma who is out of town as well. So I called because I wanted to ask if they can hold it until tomorrow. The first time I was on hold for like 10 minutes and they hung up on me. I called back and the lady was rude to begin with. I asked if I can extend the pick up date and she said "well if it says it's the last day then it's the last day. What's the birthday" and I was not sure of the year so she said "what name then" and I told her and she said "WHAT" with the worst attitude. The worst pharmacy i have gone through to fill my son's prescription. I have been trying to get a prescription filled for over 10 days now and still cannot get a pharmacist to do their part. I again called this morning to follow up, i was told to call back at 11 for status. I called the pharmacist said let me call you back in 45 mins i have to call ipledge to have them push your prescription through. The pharmacist never called. I again called for the 3rd time in one day to ask what was going on and guess what the assistant said the pharmacist never called because she was busy giving flu shots and then took her lunch. Lastnight i dropped off prescription and was told to come back in the norning. Came in and still not ready. Had to soend another 25 minutes and no one apologized. Last time a young Hispanic lady told me to fix my attitud. I had every right to be upset and dis not use fouls language in expressing my feelings. The girl truly didn't have people skills and she represents a small sample of the issues at this pbarmacy. By far the WORSE experience I have ever encountered with a cashier in my life. My wife and I walked in with our 5 month old daughter (Stroller). We were greeted at the door and continued on it. I noticed on nearly ever aisle I went to I was followed by an associate. I went down an Aisle to get Gel and then decided to get a cart as my wife and I planned to purchase several items. As I was walking towards the door, Christopher jumped out at me and greeted me for the second time. I knew what he was doing, I was walking towards the door, No Christopher I'm not stealing. Move your carts outdoors or put them somewhere else if there is such concern of theft. After about 15-20mins of being followed, I mean shopping we were ready to check out. They had one cashier open and 3 people in line (I was second). Christopher was the cashier and he was having what seemed to be like a nice friendly conversation with a middle aged white lady. As my wife approached the counter she said "Hello" and started to put our items on the counter Chris never responded with a greeting but rather "OK how many transactions are we going to do here???. My wife replied just one. Chris was rude throughout the entire encounter my wife had some coupons she was using and was handing them to Chris as the items came up. He did not seem to like that and said why don't you give them all to me? She replied I like seeing them scanned because cashiers have missed scanning them b4. He replied he wouldn't miss any and that he's "Good. His demeanor was extremely rude and cocky. When we addressed our concern with being followed and his poor customer service he replied that we could leave HIS store, and if we didn't like that location to go shop somewhere else. I have never seen or heard of a worse customer interaction in my life. We spoke to a manager who was very kind and apologized, the conversation occurred right next to Chris and by the look on his face he couldn't not have cared any less. I get all my meds delivered her. It's great. My doctor sends the prescription and then they text me when it's ready. Same with refills! I'll get a text then head over there. They even text you to ask if you would like them to contact your doctor. One great thing. When you walk I to the store, the employees greet you! You don't get that much anymore. This place is clean enough, but the line is always really long, even at different times of the week. Also, there is usually only one cashier and no one else in sight throughout the whole store. They need to give more hours to sales associates. As it is now, it's not worth it to go there. The prices aren't worth the wait. Go to Walgreens across the street. The pharmacy here has THE WORST SERVICE I've ever seen here at ANY store in my life. The pharmacist is rude, and I called in a prescription here over three hours ago, I'm made to wait ANOTHER 30 minutes, then after asking TWICE and saying I'm in a hurry, the pharmacist waits until the end to fill mine after all the POC (I'm white) even though they got there way after I did. Racism at it's finest. I also get watched here by the security guard who literally follows 40 year old me around while I hear kids talking about how theyre glad he's on me instead of them so they can steal the make-up in their hands. He stood so close to me that had I have stepped back I wouldve stepped on his feet,! UNREAL. Then finally the pharmacist asks which prescription is mine, I tell him TWICE, and I'm standing right in their faces, he finally scans it, then doesn't tell me it's ready. UNREAL. This establishment is racist towards whites because they do this stuff to me every time I come in. I'm forced to use this pharmacy, and with gas prices I have to go where is closest.
