It's pretty sad when you're store fails to deliver good customer service. I understand there is a certain element you don't want using your facilities however I'm just a customer dressed like a professional that needed to use the bathroom. Simple request denied, as I was stereotyped by your pharmacy staff. My medical conditions and medication result in my using the bathroom frequently, I often use CVS and Starbucks which have been more than supportive of my request. If I could give Zero stars I would. This is the worst pharmacy ever! I was with them for about a year due to it being so local luckily I only had to deal with them every 3 months when I got my prescription. These people who I am supposed to trust my medication with are horrible!! the first time they gave me the generic to the medication I use. I told them I'm allergic to the generic. So they refilled it. 3 months later it was the generic. I spoke to the manager again and told them I'm allergic to it. I was told it was put in my file that I was allergic to it. 3 months later it happened again! They don't get it! Luckily I moved and sadly forgot to switch my prescription to my new cvs..I called to have to transferred and they told me my new prescription was ready to be picked up....and ONCE AGAIN it was the generic. The new location near me gave me the right kind and so far they seem to be doing it right! The south Pasadena cvs is HORRIBLE! CVS has random deals and you can get vitamins on the cheap when they have sales. There are serious deals to be had but you have to wait for them. Just pop in and look online every once in awhile and you may see what I mean. The staff is ok. But I guess my expectations of customer service at CVS are just not that high due to past experiences at many different locations. read more

Why write a review of CVS? Is there not one every mile or so in the civilized world? Do I need to review it for it's customer service? No. Pharmacy? No. Basic items such as toiletries? No. Killer deals? Well, maybe not exactly killer, but better than down the street for sure! There isn't too much that separates this CVS than any another other of their 4,000 or so locations. I will be blunt, I'm here for the beer. Take a walk back to the far corner of the store and you will find a takeaway mecca. Ok, it's not really that impressive, but I digress.... They do seem to rotate a number of reduced prices on certain brews which keeps me coming back from time to time to see if I can find a good deal. Case in point, some of my past purchases (not inclusive of that damned CRV) have included: 6 pack of Becks (bottles) - $4.99 12 pack of Corona (bottles) - $11.99 Case of PBR (24 cans) $9.57 If you go down the street to BevMo, the corner store, or supermarket, this CVS always comes in a few bucks cheaper, if not more, on the same item or something similar that's stocked up locally. They also seem to have a good number of discounted wines & hard liquor in the same isle as well for all of you non-beer drinkers. Just a good spot to pick up a 6 or 12 pack on the go. More metro stations need convenience stores like CVS and Rite-Aid nearby. I had a grand plan to make the Ultimate Movie Night Basket for the White Elephant at my work. However, due to extraordinary laziness, getting sick, and being generally incapable, I kept forgetting about the upcoming White Elephant and found myself with nothing to offer. So, in honesty, I left for work and stopped off at this CVS to look around for something to slap together. How can you go wrong with some alcohol. At a White Elephant at work. You can't. Bought it. Bagged it. Prettied it up with tissue paper. Hauled it off to work. And I grabbed an orange juice on the way to help my Vitamin C along. Good for quick grabs. read more

UPDATE: I originally gave them 3 stars to be nice, but it's been an hour since I've been waiting on 1 prescription. Just 1. The person who helped me originally quoted me a 15-20 min wait...which now seems like a joke. I kept checking back and the person kept telling me "another 10 min" lol The worst thing to do to a customer is to inaccurately quote them a time to wait for something like their medication. It gives them false hope that there will be a quick turnaround time, which I know is a complete lie. At least be upfront and honest. Let them know if you're backed up or something so the customer is in the know. I would've appreciated that at the very least. Definitely won't be returning. 3 stars because the woman who Initially helped me was swift and showed me another medication I needed in an aisle. I would've gave them 2 stars solely on the fact that it took them 40 minutes to fill 1 prescription. Not sure if they're understaffed or their just slow. But I've never had to wait this long for 1 prescription. They have 5-7 workers behind the counter. I'm just baffled! read more

Unbelievable rude, unhelpful, unprofessional and extremely SLOW. And this has been the case on multiple occasions, which is why I'm now writing this review and am in the market for a boutique pharmacy in the area. I have been to the pharmacy multiple times over the past few months, and it literally always takes about 15-20 minutes to pick up my prescription because they have "systems issues" that prevent their two different machines from syncing. I still don't exist in their system. They repeatedly ask me if I've been to that CVS before! They are unapologetic and it really just seem like they couldn't give a crap. Last time I was in there I asked if they were planning on resolving the systems issues, to which I was told, "I don't know. the manager has to call the people." OK... I also just called to speak to a pharmacist. A woman answered and said, "Can you please hold there are two calls ahead of you thank youuuu." Seriously? I didn't even get a word in before she put me on hold. Ew. I'm now a customer of Fair Oaks Pharmacy at Huntington Hospital. About 50x better and more personable. read more

My first yelp review.... for a CVS, who would've thunk. I fully expected to yelp this particular cvs, see a high rating and be the lone grumpy guy who rails on it because he is bitter... and just be even more frustrated that I am the only person getting bad service at this CVS on two fluke occasions and just be more bitter.... BUT seems like that is not the case. 1) got a prescription and waited around on the chairs that are literally right in front of them. They said it'd take 30 min and they'd call my name. I waited for an hour, got back in line, which took 15 minutes and when i got up there, they said my prescription had been ready for 45 min. i felt bad for getting angry with the girl (i didn't yell at her or anything) but time is previous. i figure one bad fluke experience, i will forgive you CVS. 2) asked for another prescription the next time i went back. 30 minutes they said... well i won't make the same mistake, i'll go grab some food, run some errands and come back. come back 45 min later and they have the wrong size prescription. now i gotta go and come back in another half an hour.... SURE you may say i am nitpicking and being too harsh, but... when all i want is a prescription and they fail to deliver on one of their core products in back to back instances, that's a little ridiculous.... i hate you cvs on arroyo, but since you are close, i will probably just keep coming back... read more

Most CVS pharmacies are busy, and this one was no different, but their customer service is EXCEPTIONAL: they always maintain eye contact with their customers, they don't rush you if you're not familiar with what you're doing, they dint get mad at you if you drive the wrong direction through their drive-thru (yep, that was me), and they try to save you money by recommending less expensive brands/products. And their Pharmacy Manager, Haik, has a heart of gold. There are so many CVS pharmacies to go to--one on every block almost--but I'm gonna go out of my way to shop at the Arroyo CVS--in addition to Haik, the other employees throughout the store were the same--they didn't try to avoid you cuz they're too busy! I would like to think that the parking lot is small for a CVS, but as one car backs out another goes in. Luckily, I haven't had a problem waiting for too long. I've only been inside a few times, but the store seems to be well kept. Only issue is sometimes the line to wait for a cashier to check you out can be of a wait. On my most recent visit, I was probably only waiting for a few minutes (which isn't bad). I usually want to go in and get out and be on my merry way. For those situations, there are also about 4(?) self-checkout counters. read more

Sucks that this pharmacy is THE WORST because it's a block away from me. They don't have consistent policies. When I dropped off my scrip, they had a VERY long line inside (waited over 30 min just to drop it off) because they only had one person serving the pick up/drop off inside. They had a specific person serving the drive-thru even though they only had one customer the whole time - she couldn't leave her post to help the actual waiting customers. She even left and did some non-pharm shopping for the one drive-thru customer. Considering all this, I decided to use the drive-thru pickup. They came over the loud speaker and said "we'll be with you shortly; there are 3 customers ahead of you inside." (personally I think that's the fair policy but then please be consistent!) On top of that, I waited in the drive-thru line with 3 cars ahead of me so it was again an over 30 min wait, just to be told that the pharmacist was not in and they couldn't give me my medicine without speaking to a pharmacist first. This was a Friday evening around 7 pm. They seem to have short staff/long lines at any time of the day. My drop-off was Wednesday around 2 pm. I've been on weekends, I've been late at night, it's always the same, inside or drive thru apparently. Bring a book. read more

This is a very good CVS location. Every time I come here I have a pleasant transaction. I thought I had a CVS card on file but the gentleman couldn't find my information in the system. The only time the card is needed is when you want to take advantage of their sale prices. Recently, my allergies have been bothering me so I had to buy some allergy medicine and decided to pick up some other items since they were on sale. This gentleman allowed me to get the items at the sale price, as a one-time courtesy, since I didn't have a CVS card. Good service! read more

I really like this pharmacy, because I have specific needs when it comes to pharmaceuticals (I have had bad reactions to generic versions of my meds), and they don't push generics on me like other pharmacies do, which is nice, because I can't take them. Other pharmacies and pharmacists need to understand that while many in the public can take generics safely, and should absolutely take them, they also need to realize that if we are taking brand name pharmaceuticals, there is probably a reason. I'm going to deduct a star because the outside of the store has become a transient/pan-handler hangout over the past few years; while it's not the fault of CVS, because there is not much they can do outside of the building, it does detract from the overall experience. I hope Pasadena, L.A. County, and California in general steps up action on handling, and actually solving, the homeless/mental health/inequality issues that need to be resolved. read more

My review is only on the pharmacy..... I've had bad experiences with this pharmacy for my last 3 prescriptions: 1) I asked them not to bill it to my insurance, and they still did. 2) I asked to if there was generics for the prescription I needed, and they said "no." I got the name brand. Afterwards, I asked my sister, who is a pharmacist, whether there are generics for this prescription. Of course there are! So i ended up paying $50 instead of $10 because the pharmacy intern or tech answered my question without checking with the pharmacist. 3) I had a coupon for my new prescription and the first refill. Upon filling my first prescription, they took my coupon. I asked for it back so I can use it for the refill. They said it's one time use only. I lost out on saving $25 for my next refill. I'd like to think it might be an isolated incident, and since it's right by my place, I hate to go somewhere else. 3 times over the period of a year is enough. I'm not coming back. read more

My neighbor CVS. I'm surprised about some of the less friendly reviews, but then again I see its a lot about their Pharmacy. I've been in this neighborhood for 4yrs already and this is the friendliest CVS I've been to. As soon as you walk in you'll be greeted with a "Hello! or Welcome to CVS" Having patron this place so frequent and for several yrs of course I now some of the staff. The only 24-hour pharmacy within the area, it's your average CVS with security in the small parking lot & self-service check out. Unfortunately, it's also a very, very slow pharmacy. Be prepared to wait a while (sometimes hours!) for the script to be filled. Pharmacists seem to assume you don't want your meds right away, as it will take hours for them to fill it unless you call in and say you'll be right over (and even then...). They will text you when the prescription is ready for pick up, which is a plus, but expect to wait a while in line at the pharmacy, even if you're the only person there. Bottom line, only go here if you need a late-night prescription; otherwise, I recommend the CVS on Sierra Madre in Pasadena for faster service (but it's not open 24 hours). read more

This one is new to me since I'm coming from West Hollywood. I needed to switch CVS branches. I called and was put on hold, which is no big deal, but then the person who helped me was very short with his answers (which I don't mind) and was straight to the point, meaning no other discussion besides quickly answering my questions, (example: "yes," "no," "call them," "name,"). I felt like I was he was pretending to be on family fued in the timed round at the end of the show. Anyway, I don't mind that at all but I thought I would thank him for being so qucik at the end of the conversation and it went something like this... ME: "Thanks for being so fast and qu... The counter staff and pharmacists here are super. In spite of how busy they are, they took time to handle my dilemma. My doctor ordered an antibiotic, but the office faxed the order to the wrong fax number. The pharmacy never got it. I really needed it and kept calling the doctor's office & then pharmacy. Finally got home with it at 6pm and the tablets were huge! Horse pills. I could not swallow them and the instructions said not to cut or crush. The next day the pharmacists Lucy spent quite a bit of time helping me figure out a solution. She verified this pill should not be cut even though the dr said OK. She searched all their stores for the liquid version. I was able to get a different Rx, and when I picked it up Lucy again offered valuable information and guidance. Yesterday afternoon (Jan 1, 2021) we went into CVS to print photos. The 30 second service was out of order and so we asked the clerk, Juan, if we could come by in an hour. He felt bad we couldn't have our prints before leaving so he tried to print them on his end and it worked. He was very helpful and he and his co-worker Pam were extremely friendly. Today, I had an exceptionally great and helpful experience with pharmacist Haig. He was super helpful via phone and then again in person. I noticed that he addressed every customer by name as they walked in. He shows a lot of due diligence and concern for his customers and is also very efficient. WOW! I can't understand the negative revues! I was just there on hump day around 6pm and there was no crowd. I had an issue with my doc not sending in a prescription. They contacted the doc to place the order. They were able to give me a loaner until the order was placed. The pharmacy gal went above and beyond to help me. NO LINES. I then went to the fragrance department and Sophia was knowledgeable and kind in helping me find the least expensive fragrance, and even let me use a coupon that was meant for Mother's Day! I had told her that I was in financial difficulties but wanted to try to get my mom a nice gift. What a doll! I didn't ask to use the toilet, but they were explaining some of the new security policies when I asked what prevents people from just slipping a lipstick in their pocket since they are out there on display. One of the new rules is that no one is permitted to use the bathroom because that is the place that most shoplifting is hidden. It had NOTHING to do with bigotry! People are so sensitive an jump to conclusions! This has to stop! A store can be ruined with these petty reviews! The staff was more than friendly, courteous and helpful! Even the door guard smiled as I came in and helped me find the right aisle for a particular item. I am Puerto Rican with a dark complection. I was treated like every other customer that came through the door. It is smaller than some CVS stores but it's amazing how varied and available their stock is!
